Error in totals format when I export to excel

Hi.
I export a table report with totals to excel, when I open this file, the format of totals fields is text, not number.

Hi
You probably had some wording in the total line such as SUM or TOTAL. When this is exported, Excel is unable to format that column as a number. Try removing all labels from the totals and see if this helps.
I hope this helps
Best wishes

  • Why was formatting removed from Export to Excel when exporting from PWA 2013?

We have recently moved from using Project Server 2007 to Project Server 2013 and one thing that we have noticed is that when we Export to Excel all the formatting has been removed and all the task grouping and alignment has been flatted.
Why did Microsoft remove this feature from the Project Server 2013?
Is there an easy way for anywhere there is an Export to Excel option on the Ribbon to add the formatting back?
What is the best solution to still retain the indents, bolding, and grouping?

    Jason --
I can confirm your findings with exporting PWA pages in Project Server 2013 to Excel.  As to why Microsoft removed the feature previously found in Project Server 2007, I have no idea, as I do not work for Microsoft.  I do not believe there is any
way to force the Export to Excel feature to work the same in 2013 as it did in 2007.  I think it will be up to the user to format the exported Excel workbook as needed.  Hope this helps.

  • Formatting numbers currency export to excel

    All
I have the following SQL in my code.
select trader, tradername, billingranacc,BILLINGPREFRANACC,LASTLOGINDATE, '€' ||to_char(billingamount,'99G999D99') Amount,substr(BILLINGPREFRANACC,1,1) as "R&NLocation"  from exlink_trader_import where usertype = 'Internal' and isbilled = 'Yes' and isdeleted = '0'Now the report picks up the € sign but when i export to excel it does not, can someone help with this ?

    Hi stranger colleague Ben
The CSV codification is one but not the one issue that can affect the unexpected output of your report.
But if you are viewing correctly the € symbol in your report, and the automatic CSV codification is enabled, sure you are in the usual case that makes more difficult the work of foreign developers and DBAs.
Time before I resolved the wrong CSV output (“â‚ 600.00”) instead of the correct (“$ 600.00”) simply turning ON the automatic codification, but only after being managed many NLS parameters, and database character sets. We have different currency, keyboards, measure units than Americans, and have to read more chapters in documentation books. This is more pain if you are far to domain the English language!.
Ben: you are getting the wrong output using the “ '€' || to_char (billingamount, '99G999D99')” format in the query, Have you checked using “billingamount” in the query, and defining the FML99G999D99 or FMU99G999D99 format in the report column numeric attribute?, You should seen the correct € output in the CSV file although you haven’t defined the automatic codification.

  • Can you change the format when converting pdf to excel?

example.  I'm trying to export a PDF file to excel.  However, the PDF file isn't in a table/spreadsheet format so when it exports to excel, I can't sort at all.  It doesn't convert into any sortable columns.  Is there a way to change the format on the convert?  Or is that an edit in excel?

    Hi, jsking.
I'm sorry for the issues you're having. Without seeing your file, it will be difficult to diagnosis your issue. Can you send us a copy of your PDF file via this form and we can take a look? In the form, include a link to this forum conversation, so we have this additional context.
You may be able to do some post-editing in Excel to copy the data into sortable columns. OR, you may want to try first exporting the PDF to Word and then copying/pasting the data from Word into Excel - it's possible that may give you a better result.
But with a little more information, we may be able to help you more.

    Hi,
Have you tried exporting to HTML and then opening the HTML in Excel, e.g.

  • Error message about forms when ID exported PDF is opened in Reader

    I'm using ID CS2.
Has anyone successfully made navigation buttons on an exported PDF that doesn't produce an error message about forms when opened in Adobe Reader?
There's an Adobe page about this that says it's caused by having a stroke too near a link field, but I can't seem to avoid the message if I place more than one button anywhere on a page. I've spent a lot of time playing with this and can't seem to find a workaround.
Am I a sucker? Is anyone else trying to use this function other than me? It seemed like the perfect solution to this project I produced and now whenever a user opens the PDF they are greeted with a confusing message that has absolutely nothing to do with the functionality of the document.

Well, everything in those PDFs were form fields. You can make form fields in Acrobat - and then you can right-click on 'em and change their appearance, whether or not they'll accept rich text input, whether or not they'll scroll, and so on. It could also be done in LiveCycle Designer, for what it's worth. I wrote a now-obsolete post about this in response to yours before Mike showed up with this video.
Probably most of your work on your designs in InDesign would need to be trashed; you'd need to rebuild the whole thing in Acrobat or LiveCycle. I have to say that, unless your targeted documents are extremely simple, that this is one of the worst document translation workflows I've ever seen in the last fifteen years. It might work - I'm trying to keep an open mind, here - but if you have any non-Latin-script languages in your target list, or if print reproduction is what you're after, or if you're expecting tracking revisions to the translations to be anything but a nightmare, I would suggest that you test this method inside and out before progressing any further.

  • Currency format problem while exporting as excel

    Hi
I have to create a report for which the currency format should be $#,##0.00 and -$#,##0.00 for negative numbers.
In the text form field of rtf template, I have selected number format and removed the portion ;($#,##0.00) from $#,##0.00;($#,##0.00).When I view the report as HTML the numbers are showing in proper format.($#,##0.00 or -$#,##0.00).But when the report is exported as excel ,the negative number format changes to ($#,##0.00) in red color.
Can anyone tell me how avoid this problem?
    Thanks in advance
    Naveen

I think this is an Excel issue - you can right mouse click in Excel the column header and "Format Cells>Text"
You could also append a ' character to your numbers in BI Answers ie: '6035784010491980 which should give you the correct format in Excel.
    eg. CONCAT( '''', CAST ( '6035784010491980 AS CHAR) )
There is also an MS Office plug in available for OBIEE this may give you further options.

  • Headers & Footers disappearing when i export to excel

I am totally stumped by what you described.
I created a document with a header containing "my header" and a footer containing the date, the page num and the page count.
    I exported it as XL.
    I got this warning:
then, I opened the .xls file in openOffice and got, i preview mode:
As you can see, the header and the footer are correctly exported. What is missing are fonts, colors … whose dropping is clearly announced in the warning.

  • Number is converted to other format when download it to Excel

    Hi All,
When I use method cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download to download an excel tab delimited file, the asset number 220200000003 is converted to 2.202E+11 when open it in Excel. How to prevent this conversion?
    Cheers,
    Catherine

    Hai,
Send the number with a  apostrophe / single quote   ( ' )   in the starting of the number.
    Excel treats 12345 as number
and treats   '12345 as text and the ' also will not be shown in the excel.
By this you can send number number starting with zero as '000022050001

  • Error in date format when  I load a CSV file

I am using Oracle G10 XE and I am trying to load data into my database from comma separated files.
When I load the data from a CSV file which has the date with the following format "DD/MM/YYYY", I received the following error "ORA-01843: not a valid month".
I have the NSL_LANG set to AMERICAN. I have tried the following command: "ALTER SESSION SET NLS DATE FORMAT="DD/MM/YYYY" and this does nothing. When I try to run "SELECT SYSDATE "NOW" FROM DUAL;" I get the date in this format "10-NOV-06".
I will appreciate any help about migrating my data with date fields in format DD//MM/YYYY.
    Sincerely,
    Polonio

  • How to change format when wrong export

I think i have first given the wrong edit format-setting by importing clips in th timeline. It looked nomal so i did't notice that.
    I imported a DV 16:9 movie.
After export the summery gave 768 x 576. That looks normal to me. (DV)
but in de inspector: 982 x 540 NTSC!
I don't understand that; NTSC and not PAL (in wich i always work, Europe) and the other figures.
    The mean question now is:
how and were to change settings in fcpX that the export to .mov is 16:9 and PAL version?Or: w(I can't find nothing to do so.)
What other can i do (exept editting it all over again...)
    Thanks!
    bruce

Thanks! I chose file/ project properties and than something happend but i could nothing change to it. But after a while: in the inspector indeed: PAL and 720 x 576 DV.
    Then by share/export: 768 x 576.
I hope it will be o.k. now, it is making a .mov file now.
But how can this change has happened because i did 'nt. And why do you not see that in time?
    Any idea?
    Thanks!
