I am totally stumped by what you described.
I created a document with a header containing "my header" and a footer containing the date, the page num and the page count.
I exported it as XL.
I got this warning:
then, I opened the .xls file in openOffice and got, i preview mode:
As you can see, the header and the footer are correctly exported. What is missing are fonts, colors … whose dropping is clearly announced in the warning.

  • Why does left side text in my fillable PDF disappear when I export from ID6?

Hi there! Looking for urgent feedback on fillable forms.
I created a form using InDesign 6 - mainly text fields using the interactive: convert to text field function. I used these settings: Event: Release on Tap; Printable, Required, Scrollable; Font size: auto.
When I export the form using "Interactive PDF", what happens is that text entered to a fillable line is cut off on at the beginning of the line. Only half of the first character will appear.
I tried adjusting the width of the interactive text box, looking at paragraph alignment settings, and field settings in Acrobat X and can't figure out how to change text alignment within a field.
Seems simple enough, but haven't found a forum or tutorial that speaks to this. Help!
    Many thanks,

  • Why does the gradient disappear when I export my document to PDF?

I have used gradient tool on simple black lines to make them fade out as they reach the edge of the document. When I export the document to PDF the lines are simply black, no gradient whatsoever. I'm a beginner at this. I'm putting together something for a wedding, and really need to fix this pronto! HELP!

Version of InDesign? OS? Print or Export to PDF and settings used?
What sort of gradient did you apply? Some screen shots of the line in ID and the PDF would help.

  • Error in totals format when I export to excel

    Hi.
I export a table report with totals to excel, when I open this file, the format of totals fields is text, not number.

    Hi
You probably had some wording in the total line such as SUM or TOTAL. When this is exported, Excel is unable to format that column as a number. Try removing all labels from the totals and see if this helps.
    I hope this helps

  • CR export to excel in BOE displays multiple page headers

We are using CR 2008 and BOE 3.1. In Designer when report exported to excel with setting show page header once / report works fine. When moved to enterprise and scheduled the same report ( setting check box use report settings) and getting the output format as excel gives multiple page headers . any idea on this. Are the parent settings overiding the user settings. This happening in QA environment as well.Any idea on this ?

There is an option on the advanced export options to handle headers different ways.  Including how to include headers.  The different SDK's don't handle the all the same however so in some cases you have to modify the report the present headers and footers differently.

  • Formatting lost when exported to excel

When I export a worksheet results to excel the formatting is being lost like in my worksheet I wanted a line and space for every grouped item which is lost in excel sheet. Is there a way get around for this ?
    Thanks

Not exactly sure what formatting you're having a problem with, but I'll list some of the points I can think of, of exporting to Excel and will hopefully cover it. I believe you may be referring to point 1 below, but just in case ...
    1. If you have group sort on for a column or more, then when exported to Excel, you won't have those 'blank' values for the column(s) that's grouped. That's why when you know someone will be exporting to Excel, it's a pain as all group sorts are usually taken back off (which can screw up exactly what you're trying to point out in the workbook).
    2. If you have a page -> item (ie: lots of values you pull down like a LOV), then I believe, that you won't get an Excel worksheet for each value in the LOV but only for the one currently displayed when you performed the File -> Export.
    3. When you export to Excel, you only get actual values, no functions of how it was calculated (ie: it'll be static, not dynamic).
    4. You can export to Excel using Plus and might not get the formatting characteristics you want in Excel. I've seen users specifically bring up Viewer just to get the formatting characteristics (colors, fonts, etc.) when they export from that Disco version.
    5. Sometimes when you export from Disco to Excel, that actual value that gets posted in Excel is different. I know ... it sounds wierd, but it's a fact. The problem is NOT Disco, but is a problem with Windows and a setting has to be altered (although I'd have to hunt what that setting is now though). However, I've only seen this happen a few times, so definitely not the norm.

  • Why was formatting removed from Export to Excel when exporting from PWA 2013?

We have recently moved from using Project Server 2007 to Project Server 2013 and one thing that we have noticed is that when we Export to Excel all the formatting has been removed and all the task grouping and alignment has been flatted.
Why did Microsoft remove this feature from the Project Server 2013?
Is there an easy way for anywhere there is an Export to Excel option on the Ribbon to add the formatting back?
What is the best solution to still retain the indents, bolding, and grouping?

    Jason --
I can confirm your findings with exporting PWA pages in Project Server 2013 to Excel.  As to why Microsoft removed the feature previously found in Project Server 2007, I have no idea, as I do not work for Microsoft.  I do not believe there is any
way to force the Export to Excel feature to work the same in 2013 as it did in 2007.  I think it will be up to the user to format the exported Excel workbook as needed.  Hope this helps.

  • ALV List export to Excel when program is run in background

    Hello,
I am running into an issue with a custom ALV report which contains an export to Excel option on the input screen. However, when I attempt to run the report in background due to high volume of records/expected performance constraints, the job fails to produce a spool when the "export to Excel" option is selected. When I deselect that option, the background job successfully generates a spool, which I can then export to Excel (albeit the formatting will not look the same).
    Is the above an accurate statement or does anyone know of a way where either;
    1) The background job can create and store the Excel output into a cached directory?
    2) The spool generated, when exported to Excel, can match the format of the foreground Excel output?
    Thanks in advancce.

  • A single table line generating more than 2 lines when exporting to Excel

    Guys,
I do have an interactive report on apex with a varchar2(4000) column that is generating more than 1 excel row per table row. In another words:
    Table my_report
    file_id number,
    file_comment varchar2(4000)
    Query on report
    select file_id, file_comment from my_report
It generates 5 lines on report screen but, when I export to excel using csv or xls format, it generates more than 5 lines. On file_comments field on excel, some of them has a break in 2 or 3 lines. Seems to me a line feed problem with CHR(13) or chr(10).
Anyone as a solution or a similar problem like this? Any idea?
    Andre.

you could try to remove the linebreaks in the select.
    select file_id, file_comment, replace(replace(file_comment,CHR(13)),CHR(10)) file_comment_nobreak
from my_reportThen depending on the type of report you could show one column, but export the other column in the excel/csv file. Not sure if this works with an interactive report too.

  • REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, columns reorder when exporting to Excel

I have a variable column output and am using "cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table" to create the field-symbol output table with correct number of columns in the exact order of the field catalog.  The field formatting also matches from the dynamic table to the field catalog.
    I call REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY with the parameter t_outtab  = <dyn_table>.
When I execute my program, the ALV grid displays correctly in SAP.
When I export to Excel using &XXL icon from the toolbar, the resulting Excel table has reordered some columns.
The first columns are highlighted in yellow as though they are key fields and other columns with no background color have been bumped to the end of the row.
I do not have any key fields defined in the field-catalog.
    Any suggestions?

I have a structure in the data dictionary.
I call REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE with that structure.
There are 150 fields in the structure.
I loop through the fields the user has picked to include in the report and delete those from the field catalog that are not used.
I only keep the fields in the field catalog that are being used in the report.
I then use the reduced field catalog to create the dynamic table so the field catalog matches the output table - field for field.
The datatypes also match between the dynamic table and the field catalog.  (char, dats, numc)

  • Exporting to Excel when subreports exist

    Hi SAP,
I have a main report along with 2 subreports.  When I export to Excel the rows and columns are all thrown off.  One is on top of the other, etc.  What can I do to export the records that will display exactly as they appear when viewing from Crystal?
    Thanks in advance,
    Z

I tried your recommendation and it didn't do much as far as correcting the export records.  I was able to get the records aligned after shrinking each section in the subreports and main report.  I also noticed that if a field overlaps with another field in the main report or within the subreports it causes the export to be disordered.  Once I was able to align each field without having them overlap I was able to get the records to export normally.
    Thanks for your recommendation nevertheless.
    Z
