Error in using web services tuttorial

I am trying to use stateless java class web service tutorial.
I compiled everthing according to tutorial and when i am running the example and calling sayHello() method from client class... I am getting HTTP file not found error. My question is can i use OC4J to test my tutorial... Do i need to do some settings to make this example run(I follwed all the steps in tutorial)...
Did any one facing the same problem..

Could you provide a little more information. When you run JDev it often produces a set of errors that you can copy from the log window and paste into a message. This can be useful diagnostic information. Here are a couple of very common problems that folks run into:
1. Often this error has something to do with your proxy server. Make sure you don't have your proxy server set on at Tools->Preferences->Web Browser/Proxy.
2. Sometimes the file tools.jar can't be found in the <jdk_home>\lib\ directory if you are using a different JDK to run OC4J. Depending on your JDK/JRE you may or may not have it. It seems to come with my full JDK 1.3_04 install on Windows from Sun as well as with JDev. Perhaps you are using a different JDK on a different platform?
3. It is often worthwhile checking whether the deployment was successful by going to the URL where the Web service is located. Take a look at step 13 of the tutorial where you can copy the "Web Service Endpoint" url to your browser. If it was successfully deployed, when you try and point your browser at that URL you should get something like "Sorry, I don't speak via HTTP GET- you have to use HTTP POST to talk to me.". If you are using Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.3/OC4J 9.0.3, you should actually see a home page for your Web service.
Hope these give you a pointer to track down the problem.

  • JBO-25080 error on using web service data control

    Not getting any responses to this. Is this a bug? and if so, how can I file the bug?
    Hi
    I'm trying to use Jdev 11g to build a simple web app. The app page uses a web service data control (called "theAssetType"). But I keep getting the following error message when I try to get the "return" message widget onto the page. The name of the service on the server is CM_RJCP2.
    By the way - this service works great with the HTTP analyzer - so not sure why it doesn't work in JSF page.
    Your help greatly appreciated!

  • Compile error when using Web Services Proxy

    I used the wizard and kept all default settings then I edited the <Port>.java class to make the actual invocation.
    When I tried to compile the generated code I got 2 errors in the FaultMessage class about 2 missing Constructors:
    Error(17,5): cannot find constructor Exception(java.lang.String)
    Error(25,5): cannot find constructor Exception(java.lang.String,java.lang.Throwable)
    Looking at the class hierarchy I noticed that FaultMessage extends from a Exception class which was generated by the Wizard so I decided to add the constructors there.
    Once the .ctors are created it works as expected.
    I'm posting this message anyway so it helps others if facing the same issue and to raise the question about why is this happening? Perhaps some wrong jars in my system? Aren't Jdeveloper generated classes supposed to work 'out of the box'?
    Thanks,
    MV

  • OutofMemory Error while sending file to database using Web services

    I have a file of 30MB to be written to the MySQL database. I am doing this in Axis web services and it gives me the following error:
    (I am using Tomcat as the application server and Apache as the web server, Axis 1.3 and MySQL standard 5.0.21 version. I have set the minimum and maximum heap size and it works well without using the web service (just uploading and downloading from the database using a simple java program). Another thing to notice is that I can send a file of almost 10MB size to the database using web service without any problem. But it doesn't work with the 30 MB .)

    Sorry for the delayed response here, forget to add it to my watchlist. I didn't catch if you were using Java 1.5 or not. Prior to 1.5 the default maximum heap space was 64MB which with the overhead of the appserver might be your problem.
    Take a look at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/vm/gc-ergonomics.html and the java -Xmx <size> command line option to change the default (I believe the size argument is in bytes, but don't hold me to that). I think you can pass that as a command line option to the startup script, but you should check the doco to see if it needs to be wrapped in some other arg etc.,
    I seem to recall running into this same problem a few years back when I had a servlet doing some intense graphics processing on the fly and setting this option fixed the problem.

  • Encapsulation Error in Crystal Reports using Web Service Connection

    Hi Experts,
    I'd like to request help in investigating an issue we are currently having in Crystal Reports.  Basically, the solution design is:
    -Web Service is Used as connection
    -Dynamic Hyperlink value is used to access another Crystal Report
    Issue: Dynamic Hyperlink value is based on a summary.  We are getting Encapsulation Error message whenever we try to click a link having 30k value.
    Does anyone here can give us some tip on how to investigate the issue?  For such cases, which component (datasource, CR, etc.) of the solution normally causes the issue?  Are there any limitation in using Web Service for Crystal Reports?
    We'd greately appreciate any help here.
    Kind Regards and Many Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    There could be many reasons for this rather 'generic' error. Is the Business Objects Enterprise clustered?
    Also, could you try saving both the Main and the target reports to the Enterprise with the 'No printer' option checked.
    (File > Page Setup> No Printer).
    Also, what happens when the target report is viewed on its own?
    Let me know how it goes!

    Hi all,
    Please throw some light into this issue i am getting the following exception.
    com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor.NestedSOAPException: Problem in server response: Proxy Authentication Required.
    I have given the proxy settings in the com.sap.portal.ivs.httpservice  in the portal and also
    defined a proxy server in the Visual Administrator under Services -> Webservice Container -> HTTP Proxy Server
    I am calling service in the following manner.
    IPortalRuntimeResources runtime = PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources();
       IService service = runtime.getService(IWS_P_Service.KEY);
       IWS_P_Service ws_service = (IWS_P_Service)service;
        Volumes from = new Volumes(Volumes.VOLUMES_KILOLITER_VALUE);
        Volumes to = new Volumes(Volumes.VOLUMES_LITER_VALUE);
        ChangeVolumeUnit cvu = new ChangeVolumeUnit(1200,from,to);
        // working upto here
         response.write("working");
         ChangeVolumeUnitResponse cvu_res = ws_service.ChangeVolumeUnit(cvu);
         double result = cvu_res.getChangeVolumeUnitResult();
         response.write(result+"");
    It is working upto "working".
    If any body has any solutions please post.

  • Using Web Service as Data source (Pluggable Data Source) in Oracle Reports

    Anyone using Webservice as a pluggable data source in oracle 10g reports.(Report builder version:10.1.2.0.2)? We need to be able to use web service as one of the data source to create reports.Tried the following and ran into issues:
    Imported the wspds.jar fle from oracle plugin exchage. When tried using it received the following error in oracle reports trace file.
    04/26 22:27:22 java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDBuilder.build([Loracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLDocument;Ljava/net/URL;)Ljava/lang/Object;
    By troubleshooting issue found out that xmlparserv2.jar in 10g is newer than xmlparserv2.jar in 9i. wspds.jar is using xmlparserv2.jar in 9i as it was developed and tested for 9i only. Believe there is no newer wspds.jar file developed specifically for 10g?
    Is there a better/standard solution to use webservice as data source in oracle 10g reports? Does later version of oracle reports supports webservice as a data source without any additional plugins? Any suggestion would be helpful.

    Please provide support for the above request.
    It appears that Oracle 10g reports doesn't support Web Service as pluggable data source. Is this option is available in Oracle 11g Reports or Oracle Discoverer Or OBIEE?
