Error in VIEW table.

Hello Gurus,
I have one peculiar error . I have one Z maintainance view where there is one field PRCTR . The check table for it is CEPC.And in the Table /Join conditions there is one table FAGL_T8A30 in the Tables tab. Also there is one transaction made for this table. But the problem is when i try to enter any profit center value through SM30 , it gives me an error that this value is not in the table CEPC.But when I see the values in the table CEPC i find all the values. What could be the reason. Please help.

For standard field , we have a Conversion Exit 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT' . Try to use Conversion exit in your table maintainance for the field PRCTR.
i meant to say if you are entering value 123 in the table maintainance , It will be taken as 123 only. but in table CEPC It will be available as 0000000123. Thats the reason you are getting error in Table maintainance.
Please use Conversion Exit in Table maintainance, It will solve your problem

Hi,
I think you are executing the select statement for schema X and the table is in the schema srnr.
And schema X is not having select privilege on the table 'students' present in schema srnr.
Goto schema srnr.
Execute the following statement:
grant select on students to X;
This will give schema X the privilege to query the table students present in srnr.

Up to now, using a characteristic with its own master data read class as the InfoProvider was not supported. This is now released but it is not available for all modelings. Using the attributes in the query is not supported for characteristics that have their own master data read class. Using the attributes in the query causes a termination. The following errors may occur in this case:

Error in creating Transport Request for a view table

Hello all,
I have an ECC IDES 6.0 system named EC1 and another one which is ECC EhP4 IDES named EA1 which I have just installed.
One of my requesters has a view table named ZVAITM_TBLE in EC1 and she wants it to be transported to EA1.
So I created a workbench transport in SE10 and included the following:
PgmID = R3TR
Obj = VDAT
Object name = ZVAITM_TBLE
But when I press enter, I encountered the following error:
No object definition exists for Customizing object ZVAITM_TBLE
Message no. TK427
Diagnosis
The Customizing object R3TR VDAT ZVAITM_TBLE is not defined in the tables of the Change and Transport System.
This means that you cannot use the Transport Organizer to edit it.
System Response
The function terminates.
Procedure
First check whether the name of the object is correct. Then you (or the system administrator) should check the object definition, to ensure that the object was created correctly (transaction SOBJ).
If the object does not exist, then create it or delete it from the request/task.
I am new to transports so I have no idea how to proceed.
Please advise.

Error handling function: ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error:ORA-00942: table or view does not exist is not trapped. Why?

Why APEX 4.1 Error handling function does not trap the error of missing table?
Say, I create simple application with single IR report page and I also assign standard simple error handling function.
Function works perfectly, except but this case:
If I just drop a table used by report page and then refresh the page I am getting usual APEX error message:
ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
and error handling function is not invoked at all.
Is this a feature or a bug?

Getting an error while viewing a data in owb

Hi,
I created an External table based on a flat file. But I am not able to view the data in the external table while the flat file has the data.
I am using this external table as a source in my mapping but no data is getting loaded even after the successful execution of the mapping.I am getting the following error while viewing the data
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEFETCH callout
ORA-29400: data cartridge error
KUP-04040: file ATLAS in ATLAS_LOCATION1 not found
Please help me regarding this. I am new to the owb 11g.

Actually what i did is imported a .csv file using files then created a external table configured , validated and deployed.In next step created a mapping with this excel this using table operator validated and genrated code. In next step using the control center manager i deployed it. But i can't view the data still in the external table.
Is this procedure is correct for loading the excel sheet in to databse. My client environment is on windows xp and database is on linux environment.
Please help me regarding this.I am new to owb.

Hi everybody,
I have two Distinct Databases on two distinct servers. (Oracle Ent. Release 10.2.0.3.0 on AIX 5.3). After I install the latest patch last week, One of the APEX installation has some problems on Home>Application Builder Page. The error message is very random and
report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value.
When i change the view (details to icons), everything goes to normal. This error message is reflected some of the pages (report region) of some of my applications randomly. When it appears in a report region, i deselect the order method of the region, the result is normal.
But the other APEX application on the other instance has no problem. It is a bug? or Should i re-install the APEX instance?

Error while updating table

I am using oracle 11g db.
Trying to update one of my table using following query :

Error comes like "Table or view doesn't exist". Table is in the same schema in which I am trying this update stmt.
Also when I do Select * from this table data is coming.
In the all_objects I can see there is public synonym also with the same name. I think while updating it is refering to that synonym instead of table , so error is coming.
please tell me how can I refer to table in this case and not the synonym.

W've been experiencing the Oracle Error: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: NULL index table key value Report’ [we are currently on apex v3.0.1]. From the forum there was a reference to a bug fix: apex bug (6416829) fixed in 3.1. When we view '6416829' in Metalink we can see the bug title but cannot see any details as it's protected. Can anyone shed some light on why it's protected or provide further details.
We have many LIVE customers reporting this error and we want to be certain it's fixed in v3.1.
(currently we are working around this by flushing the shared pool but this is not ideal).
Any help would be appreciated.

This error has been thrown several times in the past 24 hours. Yesterday several of my reports threw the error, these reports have done so in the past. This morning APEX has begun throwing the error of which I have seen only once before. This is occuring at Home>Application>My Application. The error appears when I attempt to View the report in Details mode, is OK when I view the report in Icons mode. The error is occuring in my Prodution environment which has not been updated since 2/25/2009.
As before, I edited the SQL on my application's reports and the error then disappeared.
We are running Application Express 3.2.0.00.27 and Oracle Release 10.2.0.1.0. My browser is IE 7.0.
Plan to test later with FireFox provided I can download it to see if this might browser related.
Any inforamtion or guidance is appreciated.

That's what i suspected the case, will log the itar later when i am free.
Actually my main issue is that I am using forms 9i to view and edit the view tables that are based on the xml schema. Forms is giving me problem in accessing complicating views.
I think my only solution is to:
1)create a custom table updated by the view table.
2)Create my form block based on custom table.
3)update the xml data using updateXML() from the custom table.

Prvent from the user deleting specific line in view table

In our Project we have a View Table which user can maintain ,
the user can change or delete the line (and fields) in this table.
what i want is for one line for specific combination in the table to prevent from the user to delete this line ,
so when he push on change mode and mark the line and push on delete i want to give him a error message that he can't delete this line (because the specific combination ).
i new for the concept of the PBO PAI....
so i appreciate any help or suggestions.

MSS - Unable to work teamviewer with generic view table iview

Hi Portal experts !
I work on a portal migration project from EP5 to EP6 and I have a problem to work together a "teamviewer" iview and a "generic view table" iview.
The teamviewer displays all my employees and when I click on a employee, the "generic view table" iview must display me his/her career in the company (the iview execute a SAP query with in input the personal ID of the selected employee).
On EP5, it is working.
But on EP6, it is not working. I have no error message displayed but it throughs me on the first folder of the test portal role I have created.
I have used the same templates from EP5 to create EP6 iviews.
There are few parameters on each iviews, so I don't know where can be the origin of problem :/.
If you have any clue, it would be great !

I've found the solution: I have to set the "isolation method" property to "Pumped" for the iView which catches the event launched by the teamviewer.
What is looked strange is that isolation method is deprecated

SQL error in accessing table

Hi All,
We are trying to create a datasource based on a table available in MS SQL system. The current BW system(database is oracle) and the MS SQL system are connected using DB Connect.
But if the MS SQL table contains any field of type time() , then we are not able to create a datasource based on those tables. We are getting an error stating SQL table/view not found.
If there is no time field in the table then we are able to create a datasource successfully.
Please let me know if there any way we could connect to the SQL tables with time fields.

There is some limitations in DB connect based on server OS, so please use UD connect source system to access SQL table. if use UD connect then you dont find any issues regarding time.
