Error in Workflow Services API acquireTask when using local EJB protocol

Hi,
I have a stateful EJB which calls the workflow services API acquireTask to acquire a task. The task was retrieved using a queryTask API call. However, the acquireTask API fails with an exception at TaskServiceLocalClient.java:1152, as listed below in the log, with no clear message as to why it had failed.
The stateful EJB calls to workflow API using the local EJB protocol.
The version of SOA suite running is 10.1.3.1 with Oracle XE 10.2.0.1 as its dehydration store on Windows XP Professional version 2002.
Just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem or know what might have caused this.

Hi Nicolas,
It turned out I had the wrong version of "xml.jar" on the classpath. I have swapped the incorrect jar for a correct one and changed my code to use XMLUtil.createDocument(); and now everything runs smoothly.
Thank you very much for your helpful advice.

  • How to suppress log messages reported by Workflow Services API

    Hi,
    I have noticed that messages are written to standard output/error when the acquireTask of the Oracle Workflow Services API fails to acquire a task. The messages are written out even when our application code catches the WorkflowException and handles it appropriately.
    Does anyone know which logging facility the Workflow Services API use and
    whether I can suppress unwanted ones?
    The version of SOA suite I have is 10.1.3.1 with Oracle XE 10.2.0.1 as its dehydration store on Windows XP Professional version 2002.
    P.S. I have tried configuring the log4j properties, but with no effect. So, my conclusion is that the API doesn't use log4j.

  • Where is the latest javadoc for Workflow Services API?

    Hi all,
    anybody knows where to get the latest javadoc for Oracle BPEL Process Manager
    Workflow Services API Reference 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) ?
    In the javadoc it is said that IWorklistService.getWorklistTaskDetails(..) returns IWorklistTask but apparently it returns a Task object.
    Also, I saw some of the interfaces and classes are deprecated and replaced by classes in oracle.bpel.services.workflow package, where is the jar containing this new package?
    Thanks a lot for the help,

    Thanks for posing the question as to where is the javadoc for 10.1.3.1. Now, what is the answer?

  • Using Local EJB obect in web container that installed in on the same Web AS

    we can use the local ejb object in the application that runs in same JVM.
    The Web Container and EJB Container run in the same JVM when Web AS installed as Minimum Cluster Installation(one cluster node).
    But, what happened if we install the Web AS as Large Cluster Installation? Can we still use the local ejb objects in the Web Container?
    Best regards,
    Raja
    Message was edited by: Raja Nasrallah

    Hi Raja,
    Yes you can. When you use local EJB objects there's no remote communication and the web container will find them in the EJB container of the local cluster node. For the application providers this is transparent - they shouldn't care about the configuration of the cluster.
    Best regards,
    Vladimir

  • How to run "WCF Workflow Service Application" (C# project) using "WCF Test Client" in VS 2013 ?

    I have created a WCF Workflow Service Application of C# project.
    How to run the project using WCF Test Client directly from VS 2013 by doing F5 ?
    Iam using VS 2013 (.NET 4.5.1). It throws an exception to compile c# expressions.
    Can we set any settings in web.config file ?
    Please provide the solution.

    Bhanu Prakash T,
    It surprises me that building a simple WCF Workflow Service Application project in VS 2013 is giving you this problem. That project template should result in a file with an extension of ".xamlx" being generated. With .Net 4.5 and C#, that XAMLX
    file will contain CSharp* activities for the expressions that you specified in the workflow definition. By default, those expressions will be compiled when you use "F5" to execute the workflow.
    Or are you self-hosting the WorkflowServiceHost and loading the XAMLX file yourself using ActivityXamlServices.Load and then creating and managing the WorkflowServiceHost object instance yourself? You must can do the compilation yourself by following these
    examples -
    https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/741537/cannot-self-host-a-workflow-service-using-c-expressions or http://wf.codeplex.com/discussions/444990.

  • Error out from MB01 and MIGO when using BADI "INSPECTIONLOT_UPDATE"

    Hi all:
    We are currently implementing Quality Level with Dynamic Modification Rule using SAP Quality Management module.
    We are trying to change stage level by modifying the field PRSTUFENAE of the table QDQL (Material Quality Level) using BADI: INSPECTIONLOT_UPDATE, new logic is successful for a goods receipt with a single lot if we use COMMIT WORK within BADI, but an error occurs from MB01 and MIGO when we are receiving multiple lots in same goods receipt.
    Have anyone else got across something similar?
    Thank you in advance,
    Regards
    Daniel Guillen

    Hi Paul,
    First of all, there is a How To Guide for RUNLOGIC implementation. It uses BAdI approach as well, but doesn't call WRITE_BACK that can change from version to version.
    Second, you should be able to see that method GET_DELTA is being called under
    IF D_CALC_DELTA eq abap_true and df_bw_delta eq abap_false.
    D_CALC_DELTA is set to TRUE only in Method WRITE_BACK_INT; I hope you aren't using that one.
    DF_BW_DELTA is taken from DM Package parameters. Can you check what you have there or put just a break-point in PACKAGE_LOGIC_1 to see what value those 2 variables have?
    Hope this helps,
    Gersh

  • Error Generated by DIO Port Read when using a compilied Operator Interface

    When using a compilied version of an TestStand Operator interface, a Vi that reads the status of a port on a PCI-6602 board stops working. Within this VI a sub VI called Read DIO Port brings back an error -10007. But when I use the un compilied version of the operator interface there is no problem with the VI.
    Why is this so?

    I have tried to simulate this issue and I have not been able to replicate your issue.
    I know the -10007 occurs when you try and create/use a resource index that is not possible i.e if your referencing channel 9 and the device only has 8 channels.
    Have you managed to overcome this issue yet?

  • No performance gain when using local interfaces

    Hello,
    I'm doing some tests to compare performances between remote ejb interfaces and local ejb interfaces.
    I have two stateless session beans EJB1 and EJB2, EJB1 calls a method on EJB2, this method receives one object as the only parameter and returns it immediately. The parameter is a big object (~700ko). My test consists simply of making 1000 calls from EJB1 to EJB2, one time with remote interfaces, one time with local interface. For both tests, the EJBs run in the same container, same VM.
    The results show absolutely no differences between the remote and the local interface !
    As I found these results a bit surprising, I changed the serialization method of my parameter object this way:
    private void writeObject(java.io.ObjectOutputStream out) throws IOException {
    System.out.println("writeObject(MyBigObject)");
    out.defaultWriteObject();
    just to check if my object is serialized when using remote interface. And the response is no.
    So question is: is there an "undocumented optimization" of the stub/skel generated by weblogic which make local calls when calling a remote method inside the same VM ?
    Some precisions:
    - I'am using weblogic 8.1sp2
    - When calling remotely my EJB2 from an external batch (running in a separate VM), I see the message "writeObject(MyBigObject)" so the serialization is done in this case.

    WebLogic 5.x, 6.x and 7.x do call by reference for co-located EJBs by default. 8.1 has this behavior turned off by default. You may
    experience call-by-reference optimization in 8.1 only if it has been turned on explicitly in the deployment descriptor.
    Hope this helps.

  • Ejb-link is still required when using local references?

    Hi!
    In BEA's link (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ejb/DDreference-ejb-jar.html#1114738) there is the following comment for weblogic-ejb-jar.xml element 'jndi-name':
    "Assigning a JNDI name to a bean is not recommended. Global JNDI names generate heavy multicast traffic during clustered server startup. See Using EJB Links for the better practice."
    Since we're using local references (local-jndi-name) to access our ejbs instead of remote references, is this still recommendation still pertinent?
    Thanks
    Christianne

    It is enough if you add the ejb-ref & ejb-link in the session bean. The
    session will look up relative to java:comp/env
    The following doc shows an example of accessing an ejb from a web app using
    ejb-link.
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webapp/components.html#146848
    --Sathish
    <Christianne Carvalho> wrote in message news:[email protected]..
    I'm not getting very well how the ejb-link is used. In my case I have
    entity beans that are referenced in session beans.
    In my entity beans I have the following XDoclet tag.
    * @ejb.bean
    * name="ProductDescription"
    * display-name="ProductDescription"
    * jndi-name="ejb/ProductDescription"
    * local-jndi-name="ejb/ProductDescriptionLocal"
    * view-type="local"
    * type="CMP"
    In my session bean I'm currently getting the reference for the entity bean
    using the following code:
    productDescriptionLocalHome=(ProductDescriptionLocalHome)
    lookupLocalHome(ProductDescriptionLocalHome.JNDI_NAME);
    If I add the following XDoclet tag to my session bean, in ejb-jar.xml a
    <ejb-link> is created inside <ejb-local_ref> tag.
    * @ejb.ejb-ref ejb-name="ProductDescription" view-type="local"
    Considering the info above:
    1) In the entity bean, is there any extra tag to define the ejb-link or is
    the ejb-link only defined in the session bean?
    2) Re session bean, only adding the @ejb-ref xdoclet tag is enough for
    using the ejb-link or do I also have to change my lookup? If I do, what do
    I have to search for in the lookup?
    Thanks!

    It appears to be a bug in Netbeans.
    I have a similar error message with the following settings:
    A session bean remote interface
    be.macharis.toon.pacita.common.OriginFacadeRemoteA session bean implementing the remote interface
    be.macharis.toon.pacita.common.OriginFacadeAt deploying the ejb module, the session bean is loaded in the JNDI registry under the name be.macharis.toon.pacita.common.OriginFacadeRemote (the server log says so).
    I have the following code in a servlet:
    import javax.naming.Context;
    import javax.naming.InitialContext;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    try {
        Context ic = new InitialContext();
        OriginFacadeRemote originFacade = (OriginFacadeRemote)ic.lookup(OriginFacadeRemote.class.getName());
        originFacade.setOrigin(componentRegistry, OriginFacadeRemote.ELEMENT_CONTAINER); // <- exception here
    } catch (NamingException e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
    }Yet I get a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException during the EJB method call. The exception does not take place during execution of the method, but before, while the EJB container is still resolving the method. It thus must be a(nother) bug in the implementation of the EJB container.
    And bugs that are outside your control are so much harder to deal with... There was another bug in the EJB container for serialising complex object that I could work around by explicitly serialising the Objects myself to byte arrays. It took me 5 days to do so. I don't know if I will manage to work around this bug. If I do, I will post my solution. For completeness, below my "clarifying" error dump:

  • Error with workflow service all over

    First i noticed an error message coming in sharepoint 2013 powershell after i open it.
    Method 'Upgrade' in type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.WorkflowServices.WorkflowServiceA
    pplicationProxy' from assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.WorkflowServices, Version=1
    5.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' does not have an impl
    ementation.
    Then i noticed same is coming all over
    1)when i go to manage service application link in the central admini
    2)open up any site in browser
    3)on start of powershell window
    Then i tried to install March PU 2013 and August CU 2013 and ran config wizard and it keeps failing with the same above error.
    Any clue will be apreciated. I checked few other similar post but their solution is not working for me.
    Please mark as helpful if it is really helpful

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to solve this error when you opened the SharePoint Management Shell.
    This error message probably appears in the SharePoint Management Shell when it is opened, if you previously have installed Foundation SP1 on Server.
    I recommend that you can follow the steps to check and solve this issue.
    1. Navigate to Log folder and check whether any helpful logs are there or not.
    The default location for the log files is in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOG.
    2. Restart timer jobs which are related to the Workflow and check event viewer see whether it helps.
    3. I suggest that you can apply the correct SP1 to the farm, restart the system and
    run as administrator on the SharePoint 2013 Products Configuration Wizard one more time.
