How to suppress log messages reported by Workflow Services API

Hi,
I have noticed that messages are written to standard output/error when the acquireTask of the Oracle Workflow Services API fails to acquire a task. The messages are written out even when our application code catches the WorkflowException and handles it appropriately.
Does anyone know which logging facility the Workflow Services API use and
whether I can suppress unwanted ones?
The version of SOA suite I have is 10.1.3.1 with Oracle XE 10.2.0.1 as its dehydration store on Windows XP Professional version 2002.
P.S. I have tried configuring the log4j properties, but with no effect. So, my conclusion is that the API doesn't use log4j.

How to suppress logging during import operations

Each day, I am importing an entire schema from one database into another database (Oracle 9.2), that runs in archive log mode. This genererates a large number of archive logs, which I really dont need.
Do anyone know how to suppress logging during such an import.

I guess setting the nologging option on a table only has effect when using direct-path insert. However, the export files contain normal insert statements, which result in conventional inserts when working in non-parallel mode.

How to create cross tab reports using RAS SDK api with Crystal Reports XI

Hi Everybody,
Iam generating reports in a web-based application with Crystal Reports XI using Report Application Server(RAS) SDK API. The columns in my report exceed that of an A4 sized page. So, when I export that report to pdf, only those columns that fit to a page are showing up. To solve, this problem, I thought of using cross tab. But, I donot know how to generate cross tab report using RAS SDK API. I have tried to get some code from the internet. But, I did not find any java code for that.Can some one give me some sample code.It is very urgent.

Hi,
The easiest way I use is to create the worksheet as regular table and then when i verify the data I get (non aggregate) I duplicate it as a cross tab.
In the duplication wizard I just need to define the axis (using drag and drop).
if you want to create a cross tab from the beginning you need to define that in the new workbook wizard (check the "cross tab" rather then "table"), chose your fields and define the place you want them.
The data point (the center of the cross tab) is aggregated as to your machine definition and will happen automatically.
for example: to find the amount of receipt by months:
On the left put the "Buyer Name", on top put the "Months" and in the data point put the amount.
What you'll get is something like:
months: jan feb mar apr ......
buyer_name
jhon_smith 100 50 30 250 ......
jhon_doe 80 45 90 453 ........
and so on.....

Error in Workflow Services API acquireTask when using local EJB protocol

I have a stateful EJB which calls the workflow services API acquireTask to acquire a task. The task was retrieved using a queryTask API call. However, the acquireTask API fails with an exception at TaskServiceLocalClient.java:1152, as listed below in the log, with no clear message as to why it had failed.
The stateful EJB calls to workflow API using the local EJB protocol.
The version of SOA suite running is 10.1.3.1 with Oracle XE 10.2.0.1 as its dehydration store on Windows XP Professional version 2002.
Just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem or know what might have caused this.

It turned out I had the wrong version of "xml.jar" on the classpath. I have swapped the incorrect jar for a correct one and changed my code to use XMLUtil.createDocument(); and now everything runs smoothly.

Where is the latest javadoc for Workflow Services API?

Hi all,
anybody knows where to get the latest javadoc for Oracle BPEL Process Manager
Workflow Services API Reference 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) ?
In the javadoc it is said that IWorklistService.getWorklistTaskDetails(..) returns IWorklistTask but apparently it returns a Task object.
Also, I saw some of the interfaces and classes are deprecated and replaced by classes in oracle.bpel.services.workflow package, where is the jar containing this new package?

How to Write Log Message in a XML Data Source Report

Hi Friends,
Can anyone help me out what is the process of writing a log file in the XML Data Source Report. for eg: in Plsql we use FND_LOG.PUT_LINE to print the Log message in the Concurrent Request Output. in the similar manner, when we develop a report using XML, where we write Coding in XQuery of XML, what is the process need to follow to print the logs for the XQuery.
Any inputs/Suggestion on this Highly appreciable.

How to suppress Log Shipping alert for a specific database?

I want to disable log shipping for a database temporarily. I have disabled the backup job, copy job, and restore job created automatically when log shipping is configured for the database. However, I cannot disable the Log Shipping alert
job since there are other databases configured for log shipping. How can I suppress Log Shipping alert for specific database? I don't want to disable the log shipping for the primary database since it will delete all jobs and history
related to the log shipping configuration at the primary, secondary and monitor server instances.

Too late but this is possible. We just need to set the value threshold_alert_enabled to 0 in the system table msdb.dbo.log_shipping_monitor_primary on the primary server and in msdb.dbo.log_shipping_monitor_secondary on the secondary server.
I just tested it out and it should work.
To test this out, perform the below:-
1. Run exec master.sys.sp_check_log_shipping_monitor_alert will show the same error message that thresholds have been crossed. This is the same script used in LSAlert job.
Use something like the below command to edit:-
2. Run the below to change the values:
update msdb.dbo.log_shipping_monitor_primary
set threshold_alert_enabled = 0
where primary_database = 'XYZ'
Run this for all databases that needs to be excluded from monitoring.
3. Run the script in step 1 again and it should run now.

Basically My application is distributed across two or more tomcat servers running in multiple machines.And I get a log4j logs in the respective machines.
But I want a consolidated log message in a single machine.
How do i get that done??
Any samples?? Any clues??

but I want to suppress the message .,

How to suppress warning in reports for indivdual queries

Hi Guys,
I have done some changs with multiprovider and on which there is one workbook has be defined already.
Due to chagnes in the multiprovider , concern reports<which are attched into workbook> is also affected .
I repaired this reports but still they are giving warning.
1. I have tried to suppress into RSRT in message but I am not able to see relevant message number and descriprtion .
2. I tried RSRT -> Execute + debug -> uncheck 'supress warnig ' --> even I tried generate option after that -->but if I again go and do same procedure in execute and debug -->' the option of 'supress warning ' is again get checked automatically
3. In query designer -> I opened releveant query --> Query property, I didn't find any supreess warninn option
4. In Bex analyser we can do supress warning ,but this I have to make for all concern endusers ,which is not advisable.
My question is could you please tell me the correct option and procedure step by step.
1. How can I save setting in execute+dubug -> uncheck supress warning
2. How can I find in query designer.

Open the work book, there in menu,"Business Explore"> Settings> , you will have "Supress warning messages" , check it and then save your work book and then execute and test.

How to suppress status message in session method in a BDC?

Hi Abhishek,
find screen number where you are getting warning Message.
In that screen either remove your cursor position or if it is not there then just put ok_code.
so that whenever that screen will called, it will automatically skips.

How to suppress the messages

I am using the abap command SUBMIT to execute a report. I am using the following statement.
SUBMIT [PRONAME] exporting to memory and return.
       When I execute the code in the NON-Dialog mode,
It works fine when therez no (error, status or warning) messages from the report.
   But it gives a dump or error,when there is a message from the report. (For ex. "No results for the selection").
Is that possible to handle the messages?
