  • How to bind an IIS to the enterprise portal installed on a linux machine

    Dear all,
I am very new to the topic of Enterprise Portal.
Our intention is, to develop .NET IViews and deploy them in the Enterprise Portal.
The Enterprise Portal Server is set up on a linux machine.
The Guy who did install the Portal Server, has no idea how to "integrate" the Microsoft IIS to the Portal.
After deploying my .net Component, i tried to view this component in the portal (by right clicking the mouse on the Component in in the .NET Solutions Explorer).
This gives me the following error:
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occured while processing a request for:
    iView:N/A
    Component Name: N/A
Could not find portal application com.sap.portal.dotnet.framework.
    Exception id: 02:06.......
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
I think that this has something in common with integrating the IIS on the Linux Machine, and maybe additionaly installing the pdk.net on the IIS webserver machine which should be used.
    Thank you for your help.
    Regards

    Hi,
Welcome to the world of Enterprise portal
Seems to me like you are trying to use the PDK for .NET. If so - Please read the overview section in the documentation to get a general idea of how it works (for example - IIS is not used at all!).
See the Visual Studio integrated help or click this https://media.sdn.sap.com/html/submitted_docs/dotnet/index.htm
there go to "Getting Started" and mostly "Overview".
Anyway, It seems like the problem is that you didn't deploy the 2 required SDA's to the portal. You should also take a look at the "installation and configuration" guide. Download it here: https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/developerareas/dotnet.sdn?contenttype=url&content=/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/pdk for .net administrator guides.zip
    Good luck,

Was this issue ever fixed? I am getting a similar error. I am installing essbase 11.1.2 on RHEL 5 64-bit. I have unzipped the 4 foundation services binaries (V20815-01.zip, V20816-01.zip, V20817-01.zip, V20802-01.zip), the EPM installer (V20847-01.zip) along with EPM Additional content (V20843-01.zip) and the 2 Essbase zip files (V20783-01.zip and V20787-01.zip) and kept them /export/softstage.
I am trying to run .installTool.sh -record ess.rsp and I am getting the following error:
    # ./installTool.sh -record ess.rsp
./installTool.sh: line 60: java: command not found
I re-downloaded all the zip files from edelivery and re-unzipped them. But still the same error.. Looks like I am missing some files or some kind of Java library..
    Any pointers?
    Thanks,

    Hey Eran,
I guess, you can find the solution to your problem here:
It works well on Ubuntu, but since the error on Ubuntu looks exactly the same as on Centos, I think it should work for you as well.

  • Error installing package on Linux using SDM.

    Hello Everyone...
I am having an issue getting a package installed on RHEL using the SDM. The package I'm trying to install is BP SAP CRM 5.0 SP01. The error I'm getting is as follows (shortened for space and info reasons):
DeploymentActionException: The substitution of deployment parameter variables failed. The following variables could not be substituted because theyare not known by the SDM-Repository:com.sap.cm.shareTo fix this problem go to the SDM-Repository-View of the SDM GUIand define substitution values for these variables or correct thetype information. Please note these are not typos or gramatical errors. This is verbatim from the error message.
If I take a look at Deployment Parameter Substitutions ==> Public substitution variables, I do not see a com.sap.cm.share defined anywhere, but I have never had to define anything while installing this under Windows in the past with identical settings in the SDM GUI.
Is this just a simple matter of defining the variable, or could this be a permissions/config issue with Linux? If it does need defining, if anyone has any ideas what the variables should be would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

Just an FYI, the answer to this was found over at Re: Troublshooting While Deploying CRM 5.0 BP on Enterprise Portal 7.0 A word of warning, the parameter variable needs to be listed as Com.sap.cm.share (just as it is listed in the post). I had been trying it as com.sap.cm.share, and it would not work when I tried to save it. Also, for those new to Linux, you need to use the / character, not the \ character as shown on the forum post if you are installing it under Linux.

  • WLST error in IPV6 enabled Linux machine

    Hi,
My application creates and configures the weblogic domain for our product thru antInstaller script. The machine I'm installing our product is IPV6 enabled. I've already installed weblogic with using -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack="false" as suggested in the site:
    http://docs.tpu.ru/docs/oracle/en/owl/E14571_01/doc.1111/e14775/weblogic_server_issues.htm#CIHHBFEA
I've also made appropriate changes in the url pattern like : http://[<machine IPV6 address>]:<port>/console
During product installation it asks for admin server multicast ip, machine ip etc. which I've provided in the format [<machine IPV6 address>]
However, when executing add-machine.py which is a third-party script from weblogic it fails to connect to the machine giving an invalid pad byte exception.
If the machine ip I give without the square bracket[], it gives an exception as:
[INFO ][Sep 17 09:30:30]: You have an edit session open, you will lose any outstanding changes if you disconnect.

Also, I've feq quieries like :
    1. "You have an edit session open, you will lose any outstanding changes if you disconnect. " what does it mean? Is this an error or what?
    2. what are the steps required to in weblogic for IPV6 machine. Should I provide the IP as for example as fd00:10:6b50:4250::a8 or [fd00:10:6b50:4250::a8]
    3. What should be the admin server multicast ip in IPV6 format?
    4. most basic as weblogic claims that from 9.2 onwards it supports IPV6 address, does it actually supports IPV6 format of address?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Our application is basically client server model with DatagramSocket. While server start up, we will create a datagram socket in order to communicate to the clients from the server. The same socket will be used to send the packets i.e request to the clients. It is working fine for a long period, currently we faced an issue with Ipv6 enabled devices. When the server is running on Windows XP or 2003 server with Ipv6 (network interface) configured, the datagram socket is closed intermittently.
So we cannot able to read any data from the socket.Do you get any exceptions or errors thrown?
UDP is connectionless so you will not get EOS.
On some platforms an exception may be thrown from send(), receive() and connect()
if the host you specified in [DatagramSocket.connect()|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/net/DatagramSocket.html#connect%28java.net.InetAddress,%20int%29] is not reachable, but you cannot rely on this.
Whenever we faced this scenario, try to recreate a socket, we faced the below error message.
java.net.SocketException: Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 0: Cannot bindAnother datagram socket is already bound to that port.
Did you close your other datagram socket first? - The one you thought was closed?
    If so, investigate with netstat.
Is it an existing issue with Jdk1.5 with IPv6 enabled devices?
How can I solve this problem?
Why the datagram socket is closed ? any reason please. How did you determine that the UDP socket is closed?
Invoking [DatagramSocket.isClosed()|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/net/DatagramSocket.html#isClosed%28%29] will tell you if you already closed the datagram socket.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

  • How can i see the waht softwares installed on linux machine

    hi
is there any command to find the installed softwares in linux machine

As mentioned, the "rpm -qa" will show you all the package names on the system. Unless you know what each package is for, you can use this variation to get a one-line description along with the package name:
    $ rpm -qa --qf="%{NAME}-%{VERSION}.%{RELEASE}.%{ARCH}\t%{SUMMARY}\n"
It is a lot to type, but put it in a shell script ;-)
