Error message every time I access a PDF

Each time I click on a new PDF link, I see the following message "there was an error while loading the plug-in 'updater'. The plug-in failed to initialize."
Afterward the pdf shows up and everything works. But these messages are getting annoying. What can I do to get rid of them?

I was hoping that these things would be fixed in 11.0.4; see if any of the below will fix it...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • Error Message Every Time I Close the Prefs Box

Since I upgraded to iTunes 5 (now on 5.0.1) I get an error message every time I close the Preferences box: "An error occurred while updating the default player for audio file types. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
I am the administrator of my computer; in fact, mine is the only user account so I have to be the administrator.
I get this error message even though I am not trying to change the audio file associations. Weird.
Anyone else run into this problem?
    Any suggestions?
    thanks
    Paul D.

FWIW, I get the same error message. My audio has gotten incredibly choppy too (after upgrading to 5.x), whenever I have another process running on XP that's doing much of anything, regardless of the encoding bit rate of the song being played! Ugh.

    Firefox 3.6.16 on Ubuntu Lucid.
Firefox throws up an error message every time I attempt to bookmark a page. When I hit okay in the error window, it allows me to go ahead with the bookmark, but it does it every time. (It started doing it last week, then stopped for no reason that I can identify. Now it's doing it again.) whether i use a DL DVD or just a DVD R, it tells me there was an error during multiplexing.  I have tried changing every setting, best performance, professional quality, etc. and still get the same error message every time i try to burn to dvd.

    Welcome to the forums.
Looks like that error message does refer to encoding (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1645) but a problem could be that your video has to be reloaded into iDVD if you started the encoding process and then switched settings.  You could start a new iDVD project, or try deleting encoded assets.
Let's start from the beginning -- what length of video are you trying to fit on the DVD? (this will indicate what encoding options you have).  Double layer DVDs can be finicky and are used for video more than 2 hrs long.
Use good quality media -- Verbatim is often recommended around here, and I've used Sony DVD-R with good results.

  • I get error message every time firefox starts: xmlNode.getElementsByTagName("id")[0].firstChild is null - 2

About two weeks ago I started getting this error message every time I started up Firefox: xmlNode.getElementsByTagName("id")[0].firstChild is null - 2.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but the error continues. Then I did a System restore to several months ago, but the error continues. It doesn't happen with any other program.
Does anyone know how to get rid of it. If it has anything to do with the registry, I'll just have to let it be and switch to a different browser.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Premiere Pro CS5.5 has never started up... error message every time. Help please?

    Hi...
I recently bought the Production Premium CS5.5 suite.
Most of the programs work. (I haven't tried ALL of them. But the main ones -- Photoshop CS5.1 and After Effects -- work flawlessly.)
But Premiere Pro CS5.5.0 doesn't open. Keeps giving me the good old error message: 'Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 has stopped working'. This is happening every time I try to open it. And it never gets past the opening screen. This is MIGHTY frustrating. And there seems to be no coherent advice on the matter anywhere on the Adobe Forums. Might just be that I haven't spotted it.
    I'm running a Fujitsu Lifebook T901, using Win 7 64bit Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2620M CPU @ 2.70GHz, 2701 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date FUJITSU // Phoenix Technologies Ltd. Version 1.04, 2011/02/17
    8 gigs of RAM.
Please guys... what do I do?
    Operating System: Windows 7
Printer model / driver version: Intel HD Graphics Family
Video display card / driver version: 8.15.10.2246
Has it ever worked? If so, what's changed? (provide comments in description field): No
Same results with different file?: Not Applicable
Same results with different computer?: Not Applicable
Recent System Hardware or Software change?: No

One problem appears to be that your T901 does not meet the minimum specification for Premiere CS5 - according to the Fujitsu specification sheet, its screen resolution is too low at 1280 x 800 - the minimum required is 1280 x 900.

  • Why am I constantly receiving an error message EVERY time I try to download an update for my device?

I am unaware if this is caused by iTunes or if it's my internet connection or if it's just my computer.  Every time I try to download an update for my device (iPhone 4, iPod 3rd Gen) it returns with an error message of 3259. This error message states that my connection timed out. This causes me to browse the internet for the same update and download it with my web browser. It is a hastle. In iTunes, the entire update will download but when it comes to the "processing file" portion my connection just times out.
Please, if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this issue I would really appreciate it

I'm having the same problems! It might be because there are so many downloaders... Anyway try turning off al antivirus and stuff like that. If this helps tell me please.

  • Error message every time I update my phone, leaving my phone in recovery mode

I bought an iPhone 5s in July, my first iPhone.
Instantly after connecting it to my laptop, there was an available update, which I installed on my 2011 Macbook Pro.
After the update had finished installing, I got a notification that it was in recovery mode. I pressed restore, and it went about that.
Then an error message displayed. "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (17)."
At the time, I plugged it into my girlfriends' 2013 Macbook Air and it restored fine, then I plugged into my laptop and moved my backup over.
Today I went to install 8.02 and have had the same issue, however I have no seperate computer to access and try. I have followed the advice given including restarting, checking security, using terminal etc and nothing changes.
Why is this happening, and can someone tell me how to fix this and how to avoid it again in the future please?
    Thank you.

    Hello there, jwsymons.
The following Knowledge Base article addresses restore errors and mentions the very error you're receiving:
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
    Check for hardware issues
    Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.
