Error message related to external HD???

Hey all -
My FCP Studio 2 setup at work is error-free, however, my FCP (ver. 5) setup at home, I've been getting some odd error messages and start-up problems.
This only occurs when I use the external LaCie d2 HD Quadra as the destination for audio/video/effect files.
Sometimes FCP fails to start up, with the God-forsaken spinning beachball just going round-and-round until I can either force quit or do a power button termination.
Sometimes, FCP loads up and when I go to the LaCie to start up a FCP file, I'll get either the beach ball or an error message ("Error Code -600").
So, I'm thinking that it might be something with the LaCie (duh! ya think?).
I'm using Firewire 800 to connect to my G5 Mac and a FireWire 400 from my camcorder to the LaCie.
The LaCie is dedicated ONLY for video editing so there is nothing else on this drive.
Help and/or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.

Is another copy of FCP with your serial number running at the same time? (while both are connected to the net)

I had just put the finishing touches on my 36 minute documentatary when I got an error message that the external 1TB HD I was using to store the project had been ejected improperly (must have shaken a cord).  The result is that the project would not load in the edit Projects window.  I can see the file in the finder window and it will launch iMovie but the file itself will not load in the projects window.
I have contacted apple support and they tried to do a few things... to no available.
With my limited knowledge of file structures I assume that the header file must be corrupt.
Is there a 3rd party utility that can decompile and fix the file structure so it will load properly.  I've been working on this project since june and would hate to have to redo the whole thing again.

after adding a flashfile .swf into a dreamweaver page and trying to run it, I get an error message related to Javascript
I have no trouble viewing other websites with (most likely), flashfiles.
Here is the the PopUp message:
"Adobe-warning Adobe Flash PLayer has stopped a potentrially unsafe operation......"

In newer versions of Flash Pro, you can export to HTML5 Canvas, that's probably what they're talking about: Flash Professional Help | Creating and publishing an HTML5 Canvas document
.FLV and .SWF are Flash formats that won't show up on iOS (or an ever increasing number of other mobile devices). Mobile Flash was killed by Adobe a couple years ago, so the number of mobile devices that can see it is dwindling rapidly, don't use those formats if you want your viewers on mobile devices to see your content.

  • FM error message - related to payroll

    Hi all,
HR is getting the following error message when they run payroll: "No earmarked funds found for external document XXXX" (Message no. RE154).
Here is the explanation for this message: "You want to post a document which references earmarked funds with the external document number XXXX. The system could not find these earmarked funds."
The document number that the message refers to is neither a payroll doc number or a funds reservation/commitment document number (based on the document number range).
Has anyone seen this message before? Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear colleague,
    The reason could be:
In the variant for the data collection report
you use a data selection period  , for example:
    07/01/06 to 06/30/07
for method 'DAta from Payroll (PAYR)'
However, if the commitment interval is for example, 01/01/08 to 06/30/2008
Thats why no data are collected, and thats the reason for the message.
Please review the data selection period for the variant .
Let me know if this helps.
    Regards, Noemí

  • Error message after installing external zip drive

After installing a replacement zip drive (and accompanying software from CD), I'm confronted with a periodic error message advising that hardware has not been closed properly disk ejected prior to removal? I'm not removing anything--the zip disk is remaining in the external drive. I've turned off all power, rebooted and reinserted USB connections and the error message keeps coming up periodically. Iomega web site isn't much help. An suggestions, please. Thanks.

Thanks for your quick reply!  I was wondering if anyone would reply!
I made the copies on a suggetion that the original may be scratched or something so I figured what the heck?  I did format the hard drive though.  It is a Seagate 500gb hard drive.  I only formatted the whole drive and figured that the restore disks would make the additional partition.
Aside from that, it's the same error message that I had on the original drive.  The original drive and OS works (Vista), but I wanted to restore it because I just wanted to wipe everything and start clean.  What can be causing the error message, and what IS the error message?
Anymore suggestions or help would be great as I am in desperate need of getting my computer back to working.
    Thanks again for replying!

  • Device not ejected properly error message on all external storage devices: SD, Ext HD, iPod, IPhone, etc.

All external storage devices (USB HD, iPod, iPhone, SD card reader, etc) are not staying connected.  Connection runs for 10-15 sec and the error message "card not ejected properly" appears.  Have reformatted cards, performed a OSx install disk permissions and disk repair, re-installed and updated OSx, and PRAM reset.  After the OSx reinstall I had no problems for about 2 days then my iPod shuffle sync triggered the error message.  I follow good practice in ejecting disks from the Finder window or iTunes.

thought i had it licked after taking to the local service center.  they checked out the hardware and felt there was no problem getting power to the USB and SD ports, eg the suspected cause of the eject.  they thought it might be a buried permissions problem in some dl'ed software that the repair utility would not find/fix.  sooo...i wiped the disk and reinstalled everything from scratch.  worked for about a month and now its showing up again.  just kicked off my shuffle.  the sd reader self ejects after about 10 seconds.  dunno where to go from here.

  • My iPhone keeps showing an error message and the external speaker wont work

Ok I have had my iPhone 3GS about 3 months now and recently it has started showing an error message "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone, you may experience noise caused by mobile interference and a decrease in mobile strength". The external speaker will not work either, the only sound it will produce is the ringtone. Any other sound, message tone, sounds from apps, songs on my ipod, sounds from videos, will not be produced! Although when i plug the head phones in the sound will work for everything and then this error message will come up again and the sound will stop working. It's like the phone thinks it is plugged into a docking system or something. Also the phone will lose signal for long periods of time and sometimes not come back unless i restore the phone. I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing has worked, can anyone help me please?

Or you can try what lots of other people have found, and thats that the base connector is dirty and the contacts are shorted by some debris.
The Apple store guys are good at cleaning them out - if you do it yourself, do not use any liquids at all.

  • ITunes spontaneously closes - no error message (related to podcast)

When using podcast>>settings>>check for new episodes>>"anything but manually"
Then, when podcasts start to update, iTunes spontaneously closes and there are no error messages.
I have temporarily set check for new episodes to "manually." So far this is working.
But I was curious whether this problem has been identified or solved?

The 'Hard blocked: yes' came up because I had turned it off when I was replying. The error messages in the post were taken when the wifi rfkill switch was turned ON.
The list of devices when the switch is ON is as follows.
    $ rfkill list

  • Error Message relating to cache ???

I am getting a weird error message which says:
"The following errors occurred while trying to open this document:
    Missing File cache-1
    Missing File cache
    Missing File cache-2"
This page has 4 images which I retrieved from iPhoto, and appear on the iWeb page, AND also appear on the uploaded site on the Web. If they are appearing both in Iweb and on line, why am I getting this error message every time I open iWeb ???
I have replaced the images 3 times and still get the same message.
    Any help appreciated.
    Anton

    Hello Anton,
This can happen if you had problems upgrading iPhoto to a new version in the past or when you have deleted photo's in the Finder but not in iPhoto or when you moved the iPhoto library to an other location but left some components on the old location or dragged the photo's from a disk that you un-mounted before doing "save" in iWeb, in some rare occasions.
Anyhow, most likely (?), you've dragged photo's from iPhoto that in reality are no longer physical in the iPhoto library. Yes, you can see them as a thumbnail as this is a physical thumbnail of the original photo but if you double click on them in iPhoto, you'll get grey picture = this photo (the physical file) is no longer in the iPhoto Library.
Is that the case in your situation ?
    Kind regards,
    Leo
PS : when you see an error in Web, it is normal to see the same error (or the absences of it) in the published pages.

  • New error messages related to OHW - filling up error logs.

We've recently received a new delivery of help files (new helpset), but there have also been many other changes to our base software system in the interim.  This makes it hard to nail down the culprit.
That said, we are now seeing two messages in the error log any time we access help.  I'm wondering if anyone else has seen these, and have suggestions as to the root cause.  They are as follows:
...<OHWLoggerUtils> <errorFoundLinkToInvalidTopicID> invalid topic id link: STADG reported from http://127.0.0.1:7101/sta-help/faces/helppages/config.OHW+Servlet+1/locale.en/

<OHWLoggerUtils> <errorFoundLinkToInvalidTopicID> invalid topic id link: STAAG reported from http://127.0.0.1:7101/sta-help/faces/helppages/config.OHW+Servlet+1/locale.en/
<DocumentUtils> <getDocument> ADFv: Trouble getting the mutable document from MDS.
<DocumentUtils> <getDocument> ADFv: Trouble getting the mutable document from MDS....
We are seeing many of these messages in a row, but they are all like the two types you see above.
Just for completeness, there is one other error message filling our log which we also have not been able to resolve.  This one has been around for a while longer:
<OHWFilter> <doFilter> Resource URLs should not contain "helppages.resource"; they should go through the servlet path "/ohr".
<OHWFilter> <doFilter> Resource URLs should not contain "helppages.resource"; they should go through the servlet path "/ohr".
    ... <more of the same>
Any help or pointers would be appreciated.  We are using JDev 11.1.2.3.0, and OHW 5.0

Hey, tried uploading my first DPS app since August 28 and got rejected. I edited my folio and re- created the app, did the hole process again and today I uploaded the new app thru App loader. Everything was ok, but as soon as I clicked the review app in itunes connect, and the status changed to: "Waiting for review" Got an itunes Email saying this: ..."REDUNDANT BINARY UPLOAD - there already exists a binary upload with build version '32.0.0.8.99116' for train '1.0.7'... Once these issues have been corrected, you can then redeliver the corrected binary."...
I am completely lost, I don't know how to solve this issue, don't know what steps to follow and im in desperate need of help. The app is a magazine and they've been waiting its launch since September 1st.
The hole precess relies on me and I ran out of options... Can someone Help me?

    thanks

Regarding uninstalling, this is from the FAQ on the MacFuse site (http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/wiki/FAQ):
    Q 2.3. How can I uninstall MacFUSE?
A: Launch the Mac OS X System Preferences application and go to the MacFUSE preference pane. Click on the "Remove MacFUSE" button. This will uninstall all MacFUSE components except the preference pane itself.
You can keep the MacFUSE preference pane around should you decide to install MacFUSE again in the future. If you do wish to remove it, you do it just like how you would remove any other non-Apple preference pane: In System Preferences, control-click (right-click) on the MacFUSE icon and you will see "Remove ..." as an action.
Only if you had the "Show Beta Versions" button checked in the MacFUSE prefpane, you'll have a property list (plist) file remaining at this point:/Library/Preferences/com.google.macfuse.plist. To remove it, you should uncheck the button before you remove the prefpane as described above.
Note that an official (correct) MacFUSE installation will have a preference pane if you have MacFUSE 2.0 or later installed. If you have an older version of MacFUSE, you can uninstall as follows.
The other thing you can do if you're having problems is go into System Preferences and there should be an icon for MacFuse.  By going into that there may be an option to disable it.  If so, do that first before attempting to uninstall and try mounting your drives again.
