Error message running application from Jdeveloper/embedded OC4J

Does anyone know what configuration I am missing to be able to run a web application from JDeveloper with the embedded OC4J.
Here are the error messages that I am getting:
PM oracle.j2ee.jndi.JndiMessages warningInvalidResourceReference
WARNING: Resource reference jdbc/testdev not found. Allowing J2EEContext creation to continue anyway.
Nov 22, 2006 1:46:46 PM oracle.j2ee.jndi.JndiMessages warningNoTypeFoundAtLocation
WARNING: No javax.sql.DataSource found at null
I should be able to run the application from Jdeveloper development environment without deploying to Tomcat after each change.
There must be a jndi configuration that I need the questions is where?
Is this configuration or lack of configuration documented some where by Oracle?
Thanks

Hi, user544716,
did you solved the problem? I got exactly the same problem. In my case, my application runs well with jdeveloper 10.1.2 but when migrated to jdeveloper 10.1.3.1, the emdedded OC4J won't wrok and generated the same error as yours.
Thanks.

    I have downloaded the Jdeveloper 10.1.3 with OA Extensions from the Patch 5856648.
    I did the initial Jdeveloper setup mentioned in the Developer Guide "Setting Up Your Development Environment" chapter.

    If the failure occurred during authentication, review the database for plaintext passwords and correct the database. If the failure occurred while changing a password, review the password style settings to ensure they specify a non plaintext style.

  • Error in Running map from Jdeveloper Weblogic -MAPVIEWER-05523--06036

    Hi,
    I have deployed Mapviewer.ear on an integrated weblogic server and loaded mvdemo sample dataset into my db, and made required changes in map_data_source in mapViewerConfig.xml.
    Now, I am able to run all the demo apps and tutorial. However, when I run the map code(basic map) in a jspx from Jdeveloper, I am getting the below error in a pop-up in the browser.
    "[MVGlobalVariables.getMapCacheConfig]*MAPVIEWER-05523*:Cannot process response from MapViewer server.(MVDEMO.DEMO_MAP:MAPVIEWER-06036: MapTileServer is not read. Please try again later.)"
    In the log, error is "<CacheInstanceConfig> <loadCacheStorageDef> Invalid cache root directory:/scrtach/mvdemomaps\. Cache root directory will be set to default root directory."
    I am using Jdeveloper version 11.1.1.4.
    What could be the issue, esp when demos are running successfully on the same server.

    Ok, so the error comes cause the application is trying to get the tile layer from the server while the Mapviewer server is not ready.
    So make sure you run your application once mapviewer server is up and running.
    Now, for the problem that you get a blank page it is propably a javascript error as mapviewer gives no errors.
    I have made a mistake in the previous post in the HTML section of my code. Give it a try now.
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/>
    <title>testMap1</title>
    <script language="Javascript" type="text/javascript" src="/mapviewer/fsmc/jslib/oraclemaps.js"> </script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var basemap1 = new MVMapTileLayer("mvdemo.demo_map");
    function showMap()
    //maybe formating is taking away the plus symbols. just make sure the base url is formatted correctly
    var baseURL = "http://" + document.location.host + "/mapviewer";
    var mapCenterLon = -122.45;
    var mapCenterLat = 37.6706;
    var mpoint = MVSdoGeometry.createPoint(mapCenterLon,mapCenterLat,8307);
    var mapZoom = 5;
    var mapview = new MVMapView(document.getElementById("map"), baseURL);
    mapview.addMapTileLayer(basemap1);
    mapview.setCenter(mpoint);
    mapview.setZoomLevel(mapZoom);
    mapview.addNavigationPanel("EAST");
    mapview.display();
    </script>
    </head>
    <body onload="showMap()">
    <div id="map"
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>
    if you still get a blank page. Try using firefox with firebug and see what errors rise up in firebug. You should be able to find out what goes wrong with javascript.

    Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

  • Database connection error when running report from web application

    Hi all,
    When I open a report in Reports Builder , and enter the database connection parameters, everything works fine. When I run my web application from JDeveloper (9.0.5.1), and I tried to run a report, I get this error:
    Rep-501 : Unable to connect to the specified database.
    I have ran tnsping, and it works fine. My tnsnames.ora file looks like this :
    GPGWL =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost)(PORT = 1522))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = GPGWL)
    )

    Please ask this question in Jdeveloper forum.

    I recently tried to update iTunes to 11.1, and am now getting an error message "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times with no success.  I am running Windows XP Svc Pack 3.  Help please.

    Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

    Hi texasslagle,
    It sounds like you are having issues installing iTunes on your Windows 7 PC, a frustrating situation I am sure.
    There is an article that you may want to use to try to complete your install here -

    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    I keep getting the error message "apple application support is required to run itunes. Please uninstall itunes and then install it again." I've done this twice and still keep getting the same message...I'm at wits end Please HELP!!!

    Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
    Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
    Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
    Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
    Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
    If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

    I have a new iTouch. I'm having trouble downloading iTunes. I keep getting the error message: "Apple Application Software was not found. Apple application support is required to run iTunesHelper. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again. Error 2." I have uninstalled and tried installing again and get the same error message. What do i need to do?
    Lg

    Install 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and use one of them to extract the contents of the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe installer file, then try installing AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. Even if it won't install you may get a more useful error message as to why not.
