Error message running powershell as admin, not running ISE as admin

I have a powershell script local on my dc. When I run the script from inside ISE (as admin) it works beautifully. When I run it just inside a powershell window (as admin) it gives me an error:
Register-ScheduledTask : Cannot bind argument to parameter 'Action', because PSTypeNames of the argument do
the PSTypeName required by the parameter: Microsoft.Management.Infrastructure.CimInstance#MSFT_TaskAction.
Why would it be different running from ISE than from powershell window? I don't want to have to open ISE ever time to execute the script.

Back quotes and smart quotes from Web pasted code can create big headaches too.

Many moons ago, I copied that, pasted it into Notepad++, saved it as xml, and put it up on my Exchange servers.
Result = broken, very angry Exchange. The code is perfectly fine, but those quotes...
Now, one interesting thing I just noticed. I pasted that code above into Notepad++ and saw the smart quotes as expected. I then pasted it into the ISE, and the quotes appeared as normal straight quotes. I saved the file as test.xml to see if the
ISE was somehow smart enough to save me from these quotes. Opened it up in Notepad++. Smart quotes survived.
I think this could be kind of dangerous, as you'd never know that your quotes were bad by looking at the text in the ISE... Can either of you confirm this behavior?
EDIT: The text highlighting of the saved file in the ISE is apparently a good indicator of this though:

I think my problem is fixed now.
For the fun of it, I reinstalled iTunes 9.2.1 today (using the exact same installer as I did yesterday), but this time I didn't uninstall iTunes first. As expected, iTunes recognized my iPhone (as I expected it to, until my next reboot).
A few minutes later, Software Update showed up and among the updates is "iPhone SDK Compatibility Update". The description indicates that installing this should fix an issue where iPhones and iPod touches aren't recognized by iTunes. Isn't that interesting?
I installed that update and most of the others waiting for me (including Java, Safari 5.0.1, and a few others - not 10.6.4 though, due to the issues with nVidia graphics cards). After the reboot, I started iTunes, and it saw my iPhone!
So, if you're having this same problem, I'd recommend tracking down this update and see if that does the trick for you. Hopefully it will.

Solved for me.
I set the owner/permissions of my profile's mozilla folder's (and all the files in it) to read/write access, and the problem disappeared.
in linux:''

You have limited opportunity to attempt to create a backup of your created files.
That is what the SafeBoot or safemode appears to allow you -- at the moment.
Since the hard disk drive exhibits signs of failure or other major issues, plan
on a replacement in the near future. You may be able to get the computer to
start up in a regular full OS X (not safe mode) but consider its hours are limited.
An externally enclosed hard disk drive (with own power supply, not relying on
Mac ports to run it) is a good basic means of which to use a disk utility to make
a copy or a Clone of the current OS X. This may help retrieve an archive that
could be used along with a Time Machine backup, to restore your Mac once you
get a new hard drive installed inside.

Quit iTunes.
Go to My Music folder.
Select the iTunes folder, right click > Properties.
Click the Security tab and make sure you have full Read/Write privileges.

I bought an iphone 4s. After plugging it via usb to my computer itunes demanded to update version to 10.3 or higher. Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Install 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and use one of them to extract the contents of the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe installer file, then try installing AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. Even if it won't install you may get a more useful error message as to why not.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*

4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Which operating system are you running? It might still be running in the background. You may want to check your Task Manager or Activity Monitor. Or better yet, if you feel uncomfortable with that, try logging out of your user account, then back in. That might kill any stray processes.

Ever since the 6.0.2 update - every single day there's been something new going horribly wrong. For the past couples weeks it has been the browser hanging or crashing for no apparent reason and now this error hitting the browser screen over and over a hundred times a minute. I've used firefox since it began and NEVER had any issues previously. This 6.0 upgrade is a downgrade and is making me seriously look at Chrome (never IE - why I switched to firefox), though making the switch will be a pain due to all the apps I rely on and thousands of bookmarks that would need to be transported. Please mozilla fix this because using this browser has suddenly gone from seamless to frustrating pretty much overnight!

That particular key can sometimes be hit by malware, liam, so just to be on the safe side I think we should try a malware scan first.
Try downloading and installing the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hour on my Lenovo.)
