Error message: the server for gmail disconected

When sneding an email the error message:
server ......@gmail has disconected
I have been using thudnerbird for a long time and just did a complete re-instal after having problems with Thunderbird not remembering my pasword (2 way verification issue). After the re-install the server disconnection persevered.

It's possible too many connections are being cached. This is a restriction enforced notable on email providers like GMail.
# Go to '''Edit > Account Settings > Server Settings > Advanced > Maximum Number of server connections to cache''' for the problematic account
# If it's set to 5 set it to 4 or lower.
# If you have several devices (phone, tablet, other PCs, etc) connecting from the same location, try to set this number to a combined total of 4. This is a per-IP limitation of some servers
If this doesn't help, in the interest of getting you back to a normal working setup rapidly, you can go back to your previous Thunderbird version.
In Windows Thunderbird updates are automatic by default. To avoid similar situations in the future, you could change that and decide to have a more conservative approach to upgrades.
Before trying anything, [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb#w_backing-up-a-profile make a backup of your current Thunderbird profile].
You can uninstall the current Thunderbird version via '''Control Panel > Programs and Features''' and reinstall a previous version, download it from here:
* [http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/31.0/ Version 31.0]
* [http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/24.8.0/ Version 24.8]
Click on the type for your OS. eg: If using Windows select 'win32' then select the language eg: en-GB = English british then download the .exe file
You can [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/configuration-options-updates?esab=a&s=automatic+updates&r=1&as=s customize automatic updates behavior], however, it's under '''Tools > Options > Advanced > Update'''.
My suggestion would be to set it to '''Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them.''', specially if you depend on email for critical / important business or personal matters.

  • Error message: The request for account "iCloud" failed.  The server responded with "400" to operation CalDAVUpdateShareesQueuableOperation.

I created a new public iCAL. Trying to send invitations to join and am receiving this error message:
The request for account “iCloud” failed.
    The server responded with
    “400”
    to operation CalDAVUpdateShareesQueuableOperation.
Tried copying the URL link provided for the Calendar into a MailChimp announcement.  Not working.
I've tried the uncheck calendar method on iCLOUD and re-checking to stop the pop-up message.
Is this perhaps because they don't have an iCLOUD account? If they have iTUNES, shouldn't it work?
    Appreciate any help.

    Try this first:
In iCal Preferences…, choose Accounts, then select the account that is giving you trouble. Uncheck the box labeled Enable this account. Wait a few seconds, then re-check the box. This should solve the problem.

OK Now I can answer my own question.  The incomprehensible (inexcusably geeky) error message is actually Apple language for saying simply: "The iCloud servers are down again.  Please wait until we've fixed them."  I found this out by talking to Apple support.  It took about 12 hours for the iCloud server synching calendars to come back online.  When they did, my calendar reloaded, and everything was fine.

  • Error message: The data for filename was already added to the form

I recently modified an existing data-collection PDF - only mod was to add some additional pull-down menu options in two fields. I went thru the Distribution wizard, tested the revised form, added the PDF to the Responses file...everything seemed fine. Next day, I distributed the revised form, and had 22 submissions. When adding the 22 submissions to the Response file, 6 or 7 bounced with the error message "The data for <filename> was already added to the form", even though that was not true. I went back, cleared all, and added one of the "bad" files to the response form. It went in OK, but I could not add another "bad one". Although several of the forms may be submitted by the same person, the data is different in all of the submissions, plus, we've been doing this procdure for over a year and never had an issue until now.
The original form may have been created in Acrobat X, and I have Acrobat 9 Pro. Not sure if that is part or all of the answer. Thanks for any insights...I saw a posting in the Reader side, but I can't see any answers.

    Hi
According to your error message, we need to verify if Microsoft SQL Server Compact appears in the
Change Data Source dialog. If not, you need to install
SQL Server Compact components for Visual Studio firstly, and if you choose to install SQL Server Compact 4.0 , you should note that SQL Server Compact 4.0 supports in Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 or later versions. I recommend you to install the latest
Service Pack (SP) of SQL Server Compact, and latest SP of Visual Studio, then check if the error still occurs. For more information, see:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlservercompact/archive/2011/03/15/sql-server-compact-4-0-tooling-support-in-visual-studio-2010-sp1-and-visual-web-developer-express-2010-sp1.aspx
However if there is no problem with the installation of SQL Server Compact, it will be an issue that regards ASP.NET and website deployment. I suggest you to post the question in the ASP.NET forums at
http://forums.asp.net/ . It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
In addition, you can review the following link:

  • Error Message::: The volume for "CIMG0010.JPG" cannot be found.

When I import to iphoto, I get this message:
The volume for “CIMG0010.JPG” cannot be found.
Insert the disk or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again.
I have to press Cancel each time to resume importing.
    Anyone have same problem?
    Thx for your help.
    Happy Holidays!
    Ms. MiniMac

I too had this problem but found a very simple solution*. No rebuild needed.
For anyone else who runs into this problem here is what happened to me, and what I did about it (for reference):
I checked to make sure all software was updated, I tried different memory cards, I tried reformatting cards and used a card reader and tried straight from my camera (Canon 40D). I was downloading over 250 photos and after sitting there hitting 'Cancel' on each photo TWICE my photos finally loaded... or so I thought. When I went to open them, only the thumbnails were there! Argh!
Thankfully I didn't delete the memory card, and this time I tried downloading to a new folder on the Desktop and then importing to iPhoto. I got the same error. I tried locating each photo with the 'Find Photo' button and this opened the correct folder and after I scrolled down it had even highlighted the correct file. Unfortunately this did not work.
I tried a photo at the beginning, middle and end of the shoot to see if the memory card was somehow corrupt. Same problem with each. Eventually I did load my photos but again, only after I hit cancel for each one of the 250 photos. Interesting that after I hit 'cancel' it would download the photo.
The 'duplicate image' window came up for the 3 images I had randomly selected earlier, so I didn't think it could have been a naming problem. After all, I have been using the same camera for a while with sequential numbering enabled.
After reading Terence's reply (thank you) I was even more flustered that I would have to rebuild a database that I thought I was careful creating and backing up. Backing up... That was it!
I have over 40 gigs of photos on a USB drive from before I owned my Mac. I choose to use iPhoto to catalog the files but did not want to load them all on to my laptop and clog up useful memory.
It occurred to me that as Terence had suggested iPhoto may be trying to double check the new images against old ones, but the old ones can't be found. Even though the files were on completely different drives.
After simply plugging in my USB drive the photos downloaded to my MacBook immediately. Just to be clear, the photos were not using the same names as old ones nor were they being written to the USB drive; but iPhoto needed to have that USB drive plugged in to download photos to the laptop hard drive.
This is an easy fix, and avoids database rebuilding, but I am worried about when I go traveling etc. and need to download photos without my USB drive handy...

  • Using Outlook for Mac; emails and calendar announcements will not send--error message: "the server does not support secure connections" Help?

Am using Outlook calendar for Mac--needed for client connection. Invites will not go out. Error message: "server does not support secure connections." Resolution?

I have done a similar set of things and no results.
This is really odd, Mac Mail works other emasil clients work, just not Outlook.
The only event I can tie it back to is the outage a couple of weeks ago when AppleID's weren't working for a perdion of time.  I ended up having to reset mine.
Is it feasible a local certificate got corrupted at the same or, oddly, that the SMTP servers don't have the updated password?
What's odd is that I no matter how much i Google, i can't find anyone else who has this problem, other than here?

  • Error message: The server responded with an error.

I keep getting this error message and I don't know how to fix it: "The server did not recognize your user name or password on (mobile me ) account.Make sure you enter correctly. I DID enter it correctly. I've gone to my mobile me account and put in same apple id and password and it opens mobile me. The error message pops up everytime I open email, calendar. My calendar window keeps bouncing up and down after I get the message. Also, on error message, is a calendar icon with the date Jul 17. on it, but I have no idea why that date is significant.
In Sept. I did have to bring mac to Apple and had to dump data and then restore it. This error has happened ever since but I can't figure out why. Please help!
    Kathleen

    Greetings,
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal 1 at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal.
Go to iCal > Preferences > Accounts and delete your MobileMe account if present.
Quit and re-open iCal and then check iCal > Preferences > Accounts to make sure the MobileMe accounts stayed gone.
Now re-add it as Account Type : MobileMe and enter your full MobileMe email address and password exactly.
    Hope that helps.

  • Error message "The Volume for "IMG_5727.JPG Cannot be found.

    Help!

"The Volume for "IMG_5727.JPG Cannot be found.
Insert the disk or connect to the server volume and
wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again."
It has been happening for months but I am editing/moving
wedding pictures(900 plus) right now and it is impossible to work around this. They are new images that were just down loaded from the card reader.
I can see the pictures right in the library
    Help!
    Kathy

You say you are "editing/moving" pictures from a wedding.
Depending on what you mean by that, it could be creating the problem you're having.
Are you physically "moving" your pictures within the finder, or do you just mean dragging and dropping within iPhoto?
Usually, the way iPhoto works is you upload them into iPhoto from a card or some sort of volume.
A new file is created in the iPhoto library.
That file never leaves the library as it is now the actual link to iPhoto.
However, if you physically move that file from the library, you will break the link and have lots of problems.
You can't move files from the iPhoto library.
However, if you're not physically moving photos from the library (manually, via the finder), and if you are uploading into iPhoto, and iPhoto shows you a thumbnail and when you click on it, it gives you that message, then there might be something wrong with the volume iPhoto thinks it's uploading pictures to from your card/source volume.
I would reestablish a new volume to save to and see if it's still having the same problems. Make sure you backup the original library though.

  • My ical is constantly giving this error message: The server responded with "400" to operation CalDAVScheduleEventQueueableOperation.   Go Offline   Revert to Server . What does it mean? It´s driving me nuts.

I am syncing to Icloud. Iphone and Ipad works fine with this setup, but my Macbook Pro just doesn´t seem to get it. I have all latest updates. I can not detect any different response from the Mac weather I click <Go offline> or I click <Revert to server>, but the message comes up about 50 times a day(!).
Also - I seem to have a problem answering to some invitations (I invite myself from my work calendar (win Outlook). Shouldn´t I be able to answer them ?

I am having this problem too...and also I (most of the time) can't invite anyone on my google apps domain to a meeting. WEIRD! HELP!!! I just switched to Mac from PC...this was supposed to be EASY!
I get all kinds of error  messages...
    1) The request for “Test Appointment” in “[email protected]” in account “yyyy.com Google” failed.  The server responded with “400” to operation CalDAVScheduleEventQueueableOperation. *My google calendar *IS* updated despite the error, but the appointment is greyed out on my calendar.
    2)  The URL https://calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user///calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct. The URL *IS* correct.
Also, when I try to invite people to appointments, iCal adds random attendees and frequently will not add an attendee if they are in my domain. HELP.

  • Error Message:  "The volume for (photo file name) cannot be found"

I'm sorry but I've reviewed all the topics on this issue in Communities and quite frankly what I see to reslove this is way over my head.  Forgive me if I am not as computer savvy as all of you, but we need someone to post a resolution to this in a step-by-step manner that puts it in the simpliest of terms.  Doesn't anybody realize that there are new Apple users coming online all the time?  How can all of us know all the tricks to this unless it is kept as basic as possible?
When I download photos from a flash drive, camera disc, or CD where the sources of my photos originate from, I try to import them into Iphoto because it's easier to see them there by toggling from photo to photo.  I set up files for the photos first on the desktop or into the Pictures folder, then import them into Iphoto. I can do that on a PC and Microsoft does it flawlessly with their photo software with no additional steps.  But on the Apple I get all these "volume" issues and error messages that quite frankly don't make any sense.   I'm sorry but I'm about to toss my Apple computer in the trash.  Why don't they make this stuff effortless?
In the error message, somebody please explain what it means to ".....wait for it to appear on the desktop then try again?"  What in the **** does that mean?
My photos are loaded onto the computer.  Yet even at that, many of them cant be seen in Iphoto after I dropped them into it.  If foto files are on the computer on it's own hard drive, why can't Iphoto find them?  This is very frustrating guys. Do I have to go through each photo individually and find them for Iphoto?  It will take me years to do that.......
    Help.

Guess what? The folks responding to you here are all just users like you, we don't work for Apple, so, you know, your pain is of little interest.
This has been the cause of your problems:
I checked in Iphoto preferences and the box to automatically import photos to Iphoto was unchecked.
What that means is you have connected your camera and iPhoto has imported references to your photos - links, in other words. It did not copy your files into the Library.
Then you took away the camera.
Now iPhoto is looking for the pictures.
You'll need to import the images again - but if you do you'll have masses of duplicates. So, trash the existing library, create a new one and start over.
