Archiving -Balance sheet GLs

Hi ,
We have done the archiving with archiving object FI_document for the year 2009. But i am not able to tally the open value  as on today for the GLs which are not managed as open item ( i.e only line item based.)
But for customer , vendor and Gls which are managed as open item are getting tallied (ie  values are compared with before archiving and after archiving )
Kindly guide me

Hi Muscan,
Please kindly check the following information:
As you noticed FS10N doesn't give you an option to select archive files,
unlike FBL3N. Therefore, this option has to be customized elsewhere so
that the archived data is read by going to LI display through FS10N.
This is explained in note 596865. Please read this note carefully and
maintain table ASDATASRC1 as follows:
MANDT REPORTTYPE REPORT ASACCESS
001   RE         RFITEMAP   X
001   RE         RFITEMAR   X
001   RE         RFITEMGL   X
With above settings, the archive will get also read when the line item
display is called from balance display.
The prerequisite for this functionality to work is to have the 'acrhive
information system' created correctly.
Kind Regards,
Fernando Evangelista

  • Profit centerwise Posting of Balance sheet GLs

    Dear Consultants,
Client expects the Profit center wise posting of Balance sheet accounts. We have assigned cost centers to individual employee in IT 0027. In case of expense accounts like salary or Er PF, the entry goes to Profit center attached to the employee's cost center. However in case of Balance sheet accounts like Profession Tax, the entry does not go to respective profit center.  It was suggested that changing the account assignment type from F to FE would resolve the issue but it did not work.
    Any suggestion please
    regards,
    Bindumadhav

    Dear Consultants,
The solution to this problem is suggested by SAP in note no "SAP Note 1039346 - F&A: RCIPE00/RPCIPE01 - distribution of
liabilities". The note suggested to make entries in table - V_T52SWCODIST. It works.

  • PCA Financial Statement (Profit/Loss Account and Balance Sheet)

    Hi Experts,
I have the following question on preparing PCA Financial Statement (Profit/Loss Account and Balance Sheet), ECC6.0, with document splitting features.
Let say I started my business with the following GL accounts:
    Bank A, USD6,000
    Bank B, USD4,000
    Capital, USD10,000
My company does have 2 departments (cost centers), and the above Balance Sheet GLs, cannot be identified / separated in the cost centers level. My cost centers to profit centers is one-to-one, which are cost center A = profit center A, and cost center B = profit center B
I have  Sales to customer of USD12,000, and Receipts from customer is USD7,000 at Bank B, therefore (customer balance is USD5,000).
    I have also expenses:
    Expense A: USD1,000 (cost center A)
    Expense B: USD800 (cost center B)
Double entry for expense is Dr Expense, Credit Vendor.
I paid 50% of each of the expenses using Bank A, which are: expense A, paid: USD500; expense B, paid: USD400
My Financial statement without profit center should be as follows:
    P/L Account:
    Sales, USD12,000
    Expenses, USD1,800
    Profit: USD10200
    Balance Sheet:
    Bank A: USD5,100
    Bank B: USD11,000
    Customer: USD5,000
    Vendor: USD900
    Profit: USD10,200
    Capital: USD10,000
    Question:
How can I report the above financial statement into PCA level, which are Profit center A and Profit center B?
Note: I can't hardly separate Bank account, Sales (revenue) into Profit center level (Assuming I am only using FICO module, No SD/MM Module).
I can't use FAGL3KEH to differentiate the Bank Account.
During data entry for revenue, I can't have valid reason the revenue belongs to which profit center.
Kindly advise on is there any way (with logical reason) to make financial statement into profit center level.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE.
    Sbmel.

Basically You/Business need to Identify the need for Profit center wise Balancesheet is required or not? If Balance sheet at Profit center level is required then whether they have to decide whether can seggeregate every account balance to a profit center is possible or not? In other words on a cut over date you should have a Profit center wise Trail balance in place. Once it is in place rest all is possible.
What I can understand from your question is how to identify Gl balances against profit centers foor balance sheet Items. If it is not possible then you can create a corporate profit center and post all transactions to that profit center.
When comes to cash / Bank/Customer/vendor balances the system Identifies the item belongs to whihc profit center and in case cross profit cneter transactions are involved the system uses the "ZERO BALANCE CLEARING" account as an intermediate account for posting the data. By this one profit center will be Dr. and other will be in Cr as far as ZERO BALANCE ACCOUNT" is concerned and at company code level this GL balance is always ZERO.

  • Balance sheet report

    Hi all,
I have created a balance sheet report in FI using the hierarchy(based on 0GLACCEXT). The hierarchy looks as follows:
    Current Assets (Text node)
ABC     (This is the GL account under current assets)
DEF      (This is the GL account under current assets)
The Query has 0balance as the key figure. Everything gets displayed on report correctly but there are 2 issues:
    1. I want to display the individual balance values (for each GL account) in one column and sum of balances of GL account (displayed for nodes) in next column.
How can I achieve this? Right now, the summation at nodes is happening(since it is a hierarchy),
    but in the same column.
    2. How can I include a GL which does not exist in my development system but exists in production. 0GLACCEXT will only show the  GLs which are coming as master data. Users are saying that if a GL is not there in development system, it can appear in production system.
Last question is: Is there any way to create Balance sheet reports (with a fixed layout) without using hierarchies?
    Thanks

    Hi
You can achieve through SELECTIONS. do like this suppose you have the line item called Inventory(this inventory will capture the data from two or three GL accounts say ex: 123,456,789).you can create the selection with the name inventory and use these GLaccounts in that.when you see the report it will show
    Invantory            $1000
    Share Capital     $2000
    Deposits            $3000
when drill down it will shoe GL account wise also.

  • Financial Reporting in BI. Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss

    Hello Gurus,
    Background
I have a problem in finacial reports esp. Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reports. When SAP ERP implemented, they have designed the FSV according to the country accounting and business requirements for external reporting. But the regional financial office in the UK requires a different way of reporting esp. the break up of costs in P&L.
As a solution they, non BI and Management have suggsted to design these reports Balance Sheet and P&L in BI and change the design as per the requirement for UK office. i.e For P&L combine FI and CCA queries.
    Problem
My problem is, the queries are designed as GL Account Heirarchies and that are static. So for any GL I need to open the Query (FI) and add the GL into the specific group and any new Cost Center I need to open CCA Query and update Cost Center and Cost Elements manually. After adding the GL I need to reconcile both reports...etc It takes half day or full day sometimes to reconcile the reports.
P&L Report is designed as a workbook having three sheets. This workbook has two queris , FI and CCA. Both of them static heirarchy (user defined). So GL Grouping is maintained manually. The third sheet, has the layout and formula to fetch the values from the other two sheets.
Also Balance sheet workbook is having two sheets. The query is having 0GL_Account heirarchy. So when a new GL is added, I need to change the formulas on the other sheet which displays the Balance Sheet in the required format.
    My questions
What is the best practice for month end / year end financial reports?
How you have designed the P&L and Balance sheet in BI?
    Do you maintain GLs manually?
How can I re-design this reports so that I need not spend a signle minute of them on every month end / year end.
    Regards
    MultiABAP

To be honnest, I didn't fully understand your case, but I got the general logic.
I would say that you first need to harmonize your data and apply to them the group business rules before doing your reporting. This can be done by different ways. The best one according to me is to define a consolidation chart of accounts (based on the group policy) and mapp these accounts to the operational accounts automatically using BI transformations. Then you'll be able to define your reportings based on this harmonized referential.

  • Consolidated Profit and Loss , Balance Sheet

Our client has been requesting for Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss, which consolidates accounts across multiple SAP companies.
If I understand correctly, the only way to pull the data is through journal entries, OJDT and JDT1.
This seems to be very cumbersome especially just imagine as time passes, the database is growing.  It will be good if SAP could have a table that actually summaries the balance (balance sheet) and net movement (Profit and Loss) of each accounts by year by period.
    Eg:
Year    Month   Accounts        Formatted Acc   Parent Acc    Type     Balance
    2007    Jan       _SYS000012   1100-00             1100             Asset    1000
    2007    Feb      _SYS000012    1100-00             1100            Asset     200
    2007    Jan      _SYS000011     8888-00             8800           Expense  20
What is the chances of this improvement?

    Hello,
    thank you for your input.
We are planning enhancements for Financial Statements including new user templates and new print layouts. The idea of consolidating Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet will be investigated as well.
Summarizing balances per year and net forward of each G/L Account year by year should be a part of complete Data Archiving solution planned for one of the next releases. Please check threads on this very important topic.

  • Change GL Account from P&L to Balance Sheet

Our client has created a bank account as a P&L Account and posted transactions to it. This was unearthed only when we were helping them close their books.
Now, we need to convert this account into a balance sheet account before closing the books. Please share the process to do this and advise necessary precautions.
    Thanks

    Moderator: Please, search before posting

    Hi:
If you assign new account group and to old GL accounts then the number range defined for OBD4 for new account group may conflict with the GLs defined earlier.
To cater your requirement you have two options
Create NEW GL in FS00 for Bank with correct Account group assignment and transfer the Open item from Old GLs to New One using F-04. This is the simple way.
2nd option you have which probably is best suited if there are mass number of GLs involved and their account group is required to be changed. In that case you will have to create new Account group with same number range as created earlier so that existing GL (only if you want to make use of Old GL) could be assigned to them . If you don't do so you will not be able to change account group.
Whatever the option you adopt  after changing account group you will have to remap your new GL in FSE2 you will have to changing Mapping of FS items. This will correctly map Bank GL to current asset area.
Hope this piece of information will help you.

  • Profit Center wise Trial Balance & Balance sheet Report

    Hi Friends,
While executing standard Report S_ALR_87013336 i m getting zero balance i. e. the GLs not getting populate.
Plz let me know if there is any standatd T-Code through which I can get Profit Centre wise detailed Trial Balance showing opening balance, transaction during the period & closing balance.
Plz give some other standard T-Codes which can solve the purpose for getting Trial Balance & Balance Sheet.
    Note:- we r using ECC6.

    Hi,
I assume that you are in 6.0 version. It will not update GLTO tables , instead updates FAGLFLEXT tables. You need to select the "Write to classic general ledger " option to get the detail report. This option is available in general ledger >periodic processing>.
Assign points as way of thanks.
    Thanks

  • Aging Report does not match Balance Sheet Receivables/Payables Account

    Hi experts,
I am requesting your help to find out why our customer receivables/vendor payables aging reports total does not match our balance sheet accounts receivable/ accounts payable account for the same period.
    I would expect
Customer Receivables Aging Report Total = Balance Sheet Accounts Receivables Account
Vendor Aging Report Total = Balance Sheet  Accounts Payables Account
    Thank you.
    Jane

When you run the report with an ending/aging date in the past (like the end of last month), if you do not display BP's with zero balances, it will leave out BP's who have a zero balance AT THE TIME YOU RUN THE REPORT.  Some of them may have had a non-zero balance at the end of the month, but they will be left off anyway.  So if a customer owed money on the last day of the month and he paid it on the first of the next month, his balance will not be shown on the report if you run it even one day later.
I feel this is a design defect in the report, but it is the system behavior.

    Dear Experts,
Is there any report for Trial Balance or P&L/ Balance Sheet report where vendor wise drill down of amounts is possible?
    Please suggest.

    Hi Dear ,
You can use F.08 for Trail Balance  and Vendor details - S_ALR_87012082 - Vendor Balances in Local Currency
You can get cumulative balance for the vendor.

  • Currency Valuation G/L Account Balance Sheet Posting F.05

    Hi all,
Is there a way to post the Currency Valuation F.05 for G/L account balance sheet posting to another account than itself.
I cannot find any configuration on that, and a trace look to show that it goes back to SKA1,
    SKAT & SKB1.
Open item have configuration in OBA1 and we can fix the posting where we want.
But the currency valuation for the account balance always happen to the same account.
    Thank you,
    Carole

Bal.sheet adj.1 in OBA1 is for that only. The GL account is for Identifying that this is FC account in case of Valuation Loss/ Gain.
Incase of realized loss or gain, it is the same GL account that has to hit in the local currency.

  • Balance Sheet translation at spot rate at ANY point in time

My client produces its financial accounts in AUD.  They will have open items in AR, AP and Bank in foreign currencies.  WITHOUT running periodic valuation they wish to produce a Balance Sheet at any point in time during the month applying the applicable daily spot rate to valuate the Foreign Currency open items (for reporting purposes only).  I have run S_ALR_87012284 and maintained the special evaluations tab for Display Currency (AUD), Key date for translation (current date) and exchange rate type (spot rate type).  However, this does not appear to be revaluating the open items in the subledger accounts to produce the balance sheet at the current spot rate.  Appreciate input / alternate approach.  Cheers, Dean.

    Hi Chirag
As per Oracle following are the rules that has to be followed for translation.
    1. For Balance Sheet Accounts (Asset & Liabilities) GL as a default uses the YTD rule.
    2. For P&L Accounts you can choose between YTD and PTD rule. So in your case you can use the default PTD Rule. (Profile Option 'GL Translation: Revenue/Expense Translation Rule')
YTD Rule = (Translated Period Amount = Period-End Rate x YTD Ledger Currency Balance - Beginning Translated Balance).
PTD Rule = (Translated Period Amount = Period Average Rate x PTD Ledger Currency Balance)
    Hope this helps.

    Gautam
