Error message using vista - german version

Hi
one of our users, whose running a german vista version, gets
a runtime error message:
http://www.lshtm.ac.uk/dl/programme/sample/germanerror.gif
I've tested our app on our vista machine and I don't get an
error message. Why does he have this problem?
thanks in advance
Jon

That's a very vague generic message. You may have seen the
English version a
few times. Paraphrasing it goes something like
Authorware Runtime has stopped working.
The program encountered a problem. The program has been
stopped, and any
unsaved data will be lost.
It's next to impossible to guess what is the cause of this
error from a
distance - it can be thrown for so many reasons. If you can
shed more light
on exactly when this occurs, and what should have been
happening at the time
it might be possible to offer a guess or two ... but to be
honest, I
wouldn't know where to begin.
Can you get your client to test on a different Vista machine?

  • Error Message During Vista Install W/ Bootcamp

I crashed my original vista installation, so I am trying to get it up and running again. After deleting the old partition and creating a new one with BCA in Leopard, I get this error message during vista installation
Windows cannot install required files. The file does not exist. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and then restart installation. Error Code: 0x80070005
I thought maybe it was My Vista DVD, so I borrowed a friends, and it did the same thing. This is on a Macbook PRO purchased a little over a month ago.
Please HELP! I need my vista installation up and running for work!

"but when detecting hard drives, nothing shows up in the list."
I don't really understand that statement as without any drives showing up how were you able to even start the install?
At any rate, during your first installment, the one that succeded, do you remember which partition it was that you Formated with the windows installer? When you use Boot Camp to partition and install the windows os, BC sets the volume name to BOOTCAMP. As far as I know this is the one that you must use for your windows os. Before you can install windows though, you must use the windows installer to format it to NTFS <----- the format type depends on a at least a few conditions, the one that I can remember is partition size. I believe 32G and above it HAS to be NTFS. But my point is, if you try and use any other partition that might come up on your list besides the one that BC made for you, it will probably error out (if you even get anywhere at all with it). Do you know FOR SURE that you chose the correct partition to format? This is the only other possibility that I can come up with at the present time.

  • Error message when downloading latest version

Any idea why I am getting error messages when updating the version of iTunes?

:-(  Same error message.  "Errors occured white installing the updates.  If the problem persists, choose Tools> Download Only and try installing manually."
That's odd. That's normally a message you get from Apple Software Update, not one that you get when you installer using an iTunes64Setup.exe downloaded from the Apple website.
Can you walk us through what happens when you download and run the installer from this link?

  • To display a continuos Error Message using BADI

    Hi Everybody,
There's a transaction that makes use of classes and interfaces to display an ALV grid with input enabled frames and fields. There's a need to display an error message using a specified BADI method, which gets triggered after the user enters the input. The error message is working fine for the first time.<b>But when i'm trying to enter the same input and press enter after the error message, the transaction is getting closed. How can i display the same error message, until and unless the user enters the correct input ?</b>  I've tried to trace the control using the debugger after the enter is pressed, but the debugger is also getting closed and the control is coming out of the transaction. Help me out in displaying the error message.

    Hi,
Open the interface and go to the Methods tab.
Select the Method and click on Parameters.
In the method parameters, declare a variable
    RETURN      Changing      Type     ALM_ME_BAPIRET2_T.
Now, inside your code, declare   DATA : ls_return TYPE bapiret2.
and populate this RETURN table, something like:
if not ( wa_mara-mtart eq 'SPAR'  or wa_mara-mtart eq 'ZMRO' ).
        CLEAR ls_return.
        MOVE 'E' TO ls_return-type.
        MOVE 'ERR_MESSAGE' TO ls_return-id.
        MOVE '999' TO ls_return-number.
MOVE 'Enter proper error message here' TO ls_return-message.
        INSERT ls_return INTO TABLE return.
        endif.
Then, back in your program, check if this table is empty proceed otherwise, STOP or EXIT.

  • Send custom error message using IDoc conversion rule?

    Hello,
I am using an Idoc conversion rule in BD79 to load cost centers.  In my conversion rule I use a conversion exit function module to concatenate 2 specific characters and sending cost center value together and then this output value placed in the receiving cost center field.  This works fine, but now I want to send a custom error message to the idoc and fail the idoc if the sending cost center value is greater than 8 digits.
Does anyone know how to send an error message or update an idoc with an error message using a conversion rule (bd79)?
    Thank you,

  • Getting Error Message using Formatted Search

    Hi,
I am using formatted search for validating a particular field, and that happens fine.  Kindly let me know if I can also display error messages using the same formatted search.
If yes, what am I to include in the formatted search, and if No, please let me know the alternative.
    Thanks in advance.
    Satish.

    Hi Satish,
if you validate the value of a field and intend to rise an error message on detection of invalid values in a separate window or in the status line there is no way to do it with Formatted Searches (as far as I know)!
You could use the following methods as simple workarounds if you don't want to program a solution with the SDK:
    1. Solution
You can display the text of an error message in the field you validate; of course, the invalid data then is overwritten with your error message, but you could construct the message from fixed text parts concatenated with the data found in the field.
Be sure to save the original data of the field in your query before you do anything else. This way you sustain the field data in case the data is valid!
    Example:
    DECLARE @save AS ....
    SET @save = $[xxxxx]
IF $[xxxxx] test on invalid data
SELECT 'Error: Invalid data: ' + $[xxxxx] -- in case of error
    ELSE
SELECT $[xxxxx] -- no error - sustain valid data
    END
    2. Solution:
You define a sepate User Defined Field (UDF) for potential error messages - that's the way I often programmed it for our own applications. Suppose that the Formatted Search is connected to this UDF and the field to validate is field 'xxxxx'. The Formatted Search is triggered (auto-refresh) on change of field 'xxxxx':
IF $[xxxxx] test on invalid data
SELECT 'Error: Invalid data: ' + $[xxxxx] -- in case of error
    END
May be that there are minor syntactical errors or missing type conversions in the code above - but I hope it gives you an idea on how to solve your problem without SDK programming!
    Good luck!

  • My face time isn't working on my desktop. I keep getting an error message saying this beta version of facetime has expired.

my facetime on my desktop keeps giving me an error message.   This beta version of facetime has expired.

Can you clarify what Mac and Mac OS you really have? Facetime was introduced in 2010, four years after PowerMacs were discontinued. And "iOS" is not an computer OS.
Doing "About this Mac" will show your processor type and OSX version. That should help us figure out if you need to be moved to a different forum.

  • ITunes does not open and gives no error message on Vista

    Hello,
I have an iPhone 4 on Windows Vista and haven't really had any problems until recently. Nothing has changed (that I am aware of) on my Vista machine but now, iTunes won't start and I am not getting any error message. It just brings up a message box that reads, "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." Then I have the option to close the program and that is it. No error messages or any other indication of what is going on.
When I first encountered this, I followed the steps here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 and removed and reinstalled the latest version of iTunes (which was already working). I actually did it twice because I thought I messed it up. I was still getting the same problem.
I did try setting Bonjour to Disabled in Services as written here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2618748. That actually seemed to work, but only twice. I am back again to the same issue.
Any ideas at what I should be looking at to help solve this issue?
    Thank you for the help.

    b noir,
Here's some additional information. Between the time you responded and I had uninstalled iTunes and cleaned it up. Also, I followed the steps to install iTunes without all the extra "stuff" from this article: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/the-unofficial-guide-to-installing-itunes-10-with out-bloatware/2390
After I installed it, using the guide, I realized I had accidentally installed version 10.0.0.6 (or something like that). However, iTunes was working. Except, when I connected my iPhone4, I got an error saying that I needed to update iTunes because it wasn't compatible with my iPhone (or something like that). That was my fault for not installing the right version - but it did work.
So I went through the whole cleanup again, checking the registry, folders, etc. for any traces of iTunes or Apple stuff. I then reinstalled the latest version of iTunes using the ZDNET article. However, when I started it, I got the same crash again. Below is the information from Problem Reports and Solutions:

  • I can't open itunes - error message - created by earlier version of itunes

    Hi,
My sister used my itunes to set up her new ipod nano but now when I click on the itunes icon on my laptop I get an error message that says it can't open because it was created by an earlier version of itunes. I think she upgraded itunes when she registered her ipod. Any idea how I can now get itunes to open?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Acrobat 7.0 Pro error message in Vista Ultimate..missing printer driver

I use to have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional installed on my other computer with had XP Pro as its operating system. I could convert any Word 2003 document into a PDF and e-mail it without any problems. I just purchased a new computer with Vista Ultimate 64 bit and every time I try to convert a Word document into a PDF I get an error message that says it can't find the printer driver and to please re-install Acrobat. I did what it said and I keep getting the same error message. I even installed the newest Adobe Reader like it said. I know my printer driver works. Does anyone have a solution? It seems all the money you spend on Adobe products their support staff just wants to wash their hands and send you on some wild goose chase looking for answers on their un-user friendly site instead of answering the question or making any recommendations. If I have to update it so be it. They should have told me that. This is the last time I will fork over $600 on any of their products because their service stinks. I appreciate any help from anyone who has experienced this same problem or who knows how to rectify it. God Bless, Tony

Hi Michael, Thank you so much for the reply. You would think Adobe Support could have told me that so I really appreciate it. Do you know what I need to do to upgrade it ? Can I find an upgrade on E-Bay or do I need to go to COMP USA or some other place to buy the upgrade? Last, what exactly am I looking for to upgrade it to the newest version. (Name of product). I will also remove the other program so it won't have any other issues once I get the upgrade. Thanks again and God Bless, Tony

  • "Cannot play video - The Connected display is not supported" error message using Netflix 5.0.2 on my iPad

I'm running iOS 7.0.3 on my iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd gen) and have just upgraded to the current version of the Neflix app available in the Canadian App Store (5.0.2).
Although all other apps I've tried (e.g. Podcast, VLC) are able to properly output video & audio directly to my TV using the HDMI adapter (i.e. NOT via an Apple TV), the Netflix app pops up the error message "Cannot play video - The connected display is not supported".  If I start a video and then plug the HDMI cable in, it will play for a few seconds and then halt with the same error message.
Netflix & Apple were supposed to have been working together to fix the previous issue with this scenario which was causing audio to be output but no video.  The current Netflix app update was released yesterday and seems to have taken a step backward.
When I contacted Netflix support, they indicated that they have done whatever can be done from their side and this is now Apple's issue.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Kiron

    Hello all,
I have an iPad 2 16GB with iOS 7.0.3 and Netflix version 5.0.2. I cannot watch netflix on an External LCD monitor that I have through VGA out. I use bluetooth speakers, so the AirPlay is going to that for Audio. Before this update, this combo worked without an issue.
So as of Friday Nov. 8/2013, I contacted Netflix support, and they said they fixed the problem on their end, and the fix is on the Apple side of things, and to contact Apple support.
So, I contacted Apple support, and the first person I spoke to said I would have to agree to pay a $35 fee for 30 days of support to this problem since my unit is out of warranty. I said this isn't a hardware issue, it's a software issue, and I'm not willing to pay to fix a problem you created. So I got a Senior Level advisor on the line, and she was helpful, and she's looking into the issue for me and said she'll contact me sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday (Nov. 12 or 13) to let me know of the issue.
Here's the thing: this is a combination of Netflix and iOS not working correctly with any of the Apple Authorized Dongles. This is truly a code error that some hot shot programmer had major oversight on, and their management didn't catch it either. There was no reason for Netflix to rush to get this Netflix update going until Apple sorted out the bugs in iOS 7.
Anyway, if I hear anything from Donna (the advisor), I'll post it and let you guys know. In the mean time, good luck!

  • Script Alert: "Sorry I could not process the following files" (Error Message using Image Processor)

I'm a seasoned Photoshop/Bridge CS5 user who recently upgraded to CS6.  In Bridge I just ran my first Image Processor batch, trying to convert a set of RAW .NEF files to .PSD files with a basic editing action I created applied to them.  Photoshop CS6 opens the files from Bridge and applies the actions, but then I get the "Script alert" error message "Sorry I could not process the following files" and a list of all of the files in the batch I was trying to run the script on.  The files all remain open and are saved on my hard drive in a folder created by the Image Processor script, but do not close unless I manually close them.  I never had this problem in CS5 where the image processor would apply the desired actions to the batch of photos one at a time, then save and close.  Thoughts on how I can fix this bug?

    Hey Jeff--
No specific action steps to make the image safe - no flattening, etc. Had problems narrowing down the specific action step causing the problem. So I ran the Image Processor script in the ExtendScript ToolKit and debugged in. (I'm using the version that shipped with CS4.)
Turns out what was happening is that the app.activeDocument.close() command on line 1490 was never getting called, because the this.SaveFile() above it was throwing an exception. More debugging got me to the problem - SaveFile() tries to restore the history state after making a doc safe for saving as a JPEG. This causes an exception. So I commented out line 1571:
    // app.activeDocument.ativeHistoryState = historyState;
The script runs just fine after this. I commented out the close to see what history states got added to the doc, but no new states are recorded, so commenting out the restore line should not cause any problems.
Of course, my solution does not solve the problem and I may need to comment out all the saveFile() lines that does this. Not sure why some actions have this problem and others don't. The actions I am running have about 25 steps. Perhaps PS is not catching up quick enough. I added a $.sleep(2500) after the restore history but that didn't help.
So, not sure where this gets us. I will check about posting an action set with just one of the actions that cause the problem. But I may also have our customer comment out that line of the Image Processor script.
Hope this helps. May post more next week.
