2) What does the error mean and how can I fix it?

Hello Paul,
Thank you for your help, but the project that I'm working on I'm unable to send to you the PDF file, for security policies reason.
The form has 11 pages and trying to solve the problem I deleted 10 pages. So now I can see the XML Source but I found a weird thing:
in a Decimal Field, I found up to 65.000 occurrences of
instead of just one. What is it mean?
Is there another way to see the XML source?

  • The property XMLDataVariable on the XML Source was empty - Case Foreach Loop Container

    I have very simple XML source and OLE DB Source in Foreach Loop Container,
    but seem to get error, because XML Source cannot find the XML.
    "Error at Data Flow Task. The property XMLDataVariable on the XML Source was empty"
    Variables:
    FileExtention = *.xml
    FilePath =
    FolderPath = C:\Customer\XML
    XML Source:
    Data Access mode = XML file from variable
    Variable name = User::filePath
    Foreach Loop Container:
    Enumerator = Foreach File Enumerator

    Expression-FileSpec = @User::FileExtension
    Enumerator Folder = C:\Customer\XML
    Files = *.xml
    Variable mapping-User::FilePath = 0
    Kenny_I

    Have you filled the variable (filePath) with a default value? Otherwise the XML Source cannot validate. Alternative is look for a property "DelayValidation". In most cases this is a property of the connection manager, but you're not using
    one for the xml source....

  • Error when attaching a remote XML source

    Hello,
    When I try and attach a remote XML source to my XSL file,
    Dreamweaver CS3
    tells me "Unable to locate or parse the XML source".
    The XML file in question is located at
    http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?p=UKXX0085
    - which is a fully
    functioning URL to an XML page - I can load it okay, and I
    can view the XML
    source.
    Why does Dreamweaver report that it cannot access it? If I
    open the source
    of that URL and save it as a .xml file and attach it to my
    XSL locally, it
    works just fine - so it works locally but not remotely. The
    source is likely
    to change frequently, so attaching a local XML file is not an
    option.
    If I ignore the Dreamweaver error message and use that source
    anyway, the
    browser just responds with "An error occured while loading
    XML document
    http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?p=UKXX0055".
    Error message was: A
    connection with the server could not be established ".
    The only thing I can think of is, the URL to the XML source
    doesn't end in
    ".xml" - but then again, hardly any XML sources on the web do
    so I can't be
    the first person who wants to try and incorporate one in
    their site like
    this!
    Any help appreciated!
    Cheers,
    D.

    Okay, now using this in a new file called web.config
    <configuration>
    <system.net>
    <defaultProxy>
    <proxy
    usesystemdefault = "false"
    proxyaddress="
    http://myproxy.blah.blah:80"
    bypassonlocal="false"
    />
    </defaultProxy>
    </system.net>
    </configuration>
    All is well - except, that restricts the app to people who
    are using this
    proxy - any idea how to fix that code to make it default to
    the users
    browser settings? (Which I thought was the default in .Net
    but maybe not??).

    The reason is in the first line of the error.  It doesn't have anything to do with the size of your XML file - it has to do with the contents of the "MsgLev1" column.  You (or the XSD) has indicated that the values in this column not exceed a certain size - but one of the values in the file that's failing is larger than that.
    In order to fix the problem, you're going to need to increase the allocated space for that column.  In order to do that, you're going to need to find out what the required size of that data is - either from someone who ought to know, or by direct examination of the file.  If you want to know which entity has this overly large data element in it, you need to configure the error handling of the XML Source to "redirect truncation errors".  Then you can hook up the XML Source's error output to another destination where you can see which rows are problematic.

  • XML Source Portlet: Setup Error Cannot Edit Portlet

    Hello,
    I've just run through, twice, the migration wizard to import the ptxmlsp.pte file. This setup completes and I find the XML Source Portlet Folder with its webservice, remote server, and Portlet Template. Following the AminstratorsGuide_XMLSourcePortlet.pdf when I try to create a portlet I get a 404 error when I click the edit button trying to configure this portlet.
    The server is running IIS 6 and Tomcat 4.1.30.
    This is what I'm seeing from ptspy when I click the edit button:
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    John
    [email protected]
    This turned out to be a setup error due to both IIS and Tomcat running on the same server an update to the remote server's base url needed to be changed to port 8080.

    We're on 5.0.2. I'm looking to pull an XML file off the web and write an XSL file to display it. I've been able to get it to work with the following test example:
    http://www.w3schools.com/xml/simple.xmlhttp://www.w3schools.com/xml/simple.xslWhenever I use something more complex, then I get an "Error: Could not transform XML data. Contact your administrator." Xalan.jar is in the right location. Since I can get the more complex files to work from the command line, and a simple web based translation to occur, it's a bit confusing...
    Xalan.jar is in the correct location. Should I double-check any environment variables?
    By the way, will this portlet work for .rss files as well?
    Thanks!

  • XML Source Error - cache property

    Hello,
    I am using Livecycle Designer and am trying to edit an existing form.
    I have no problem editing in the design view and master pages, however there are certain texts on the preview and printed form that are only viewable in the xml source (that's the only place I can see them anyway!!).
    However when trying to edit the xml source to change these texts I get an XML Source Error popup and cannot save change.
    'The following error was found with the xml source'
    'Invalid property set operation; cache doesn't have property '#text''
    Don't know what this property '#text' is or what the error refers to. I can't find anything online about it. Could it be a setting in form property - I've tried changing some of these but no joy!!
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Deep.

    Hi,
    I suspect that your form is corrupt. You need to be careful when "editing" a form in the XML Source. If you delete incomplete sections, it may throw an error.
    One option may be to copy all of the visible objects into a new form.
    Good luck,
    Niall

  • XML Source error message hexadecimal invalid character

    Hi all
    I am developing a SSIS package to add data from thousands of XML files to an existing SQL Server table.
    And I get the error message:
    The XML Source was unable to process the XML data. “”hexadecimal value 0x01 , is an invalid character.
    I know that these XML files are not well-formed (and hence not really an XML file).
    So, How to use the SSIS package to solve this problem without using the other editor?

    Thanks Visakh16

    Did you get it while creating a template from the Word-Addin? Just close MS Word and then log back in and see whether it works. If you are on 10.1.3.2 then go to Start->Program Files->Oracle Business Intelligence -> Template Builder for Word and set the language to en-US. Your error could be because of a MS patch. If you set the language that should make it work.
    Thanks,

    In the CRConfig.xml, this is what is there:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <CrystalReportEngine-configuration>
        <reportlocation>../reports</reportlocation>
        <timeout>0</timeout>

             <classname></classname>
        </ExternalFunctionLibraryClassNames>
    </CrystalReportEngine-configuration>
    The report template 'Report1.rpt' is packaged under WEB-INF/reports in the war file.
    When I try to generate the report by accessing the JSF page, I am getting an error: "The report source could not be retrieved from the state object. "
    I am not sure what is wrong. Can someone help me in resolving this issue?

    My formatting gets lost and the message looks unintelligible. After some experimentation, I found that if the message exceeds some length, the formatting is removed. Since I couldn't find any way to delete this post, I made another post with the same subject. Please ignore this post and help me to find a solution for the problem posted in the other thread with the same subject. Thanks in advance.

    how to resolve this problem...
    Thanks & Regards
    venky

    The reason for the error is the xquery is not able to find the values in the input... Check the input and namespaces...
    Try...
    <ns1:value1>{ data($addition1/ns0:value1) }</ns1:value1>
    <ns1:value2>{ data($addition1/ns0:value2) }</ns1:value2>Cheers,

  • Error in XML Parsing  through Schema doc.

    I know this is not the correct group for XML related queries. I had posted the query in XML forum but could not get any reply. I have been in the forum and know this is very active forum.
    Please help if you can..
    Hi Friends,
    I am trying to validate XML file as per the defined schema document through JAXB parser.
    Following is my xml. schema and java class code.
    XML File*
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <notify xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="NotificationDetailsSchema.xsd">
    <notification>
    <alertname>Alert1</alertname>
    <deletable>Y</deletable>
    <descurl>Alert1URL</descurl>
    </notification>
    <notification>
    <alertname>Alert2</alertname>
    <deletable>Y</deletable>
    <descurl>Alert2URL</descurl>
    </notification>
    </notify>
    Schema file_
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" elementFormDefault="qualified">
    <xsd:element name="notify">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="notification" maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <xsd:complexType mixed="true">
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="alertname">
    <xsd:simpleType>
    <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string">
    <xsd:minLength value="1"/>
    </xsd:restriction>
    </xsd:simpleType>
    </xsd:element>
    <xsd:element name="deletable">
    <xsd:simpleType>
    <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string">
    <xsd:pattern value="Y|N"/>
    </xsd:restriction>
    </xsd:simpleType>
    </xsd:element>
    <xsd:element name="descurl">
    <xsd:simpleType>
    <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string">
    <xsd:minLength value="1"/>
    </xsd:restriction>
    </xsd:simpleType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:schema>
    Java Class_
    SAXSource source = new SAXSource (xmlInputSource);
    SchemaFactory sf = SchemaFactory.newInstance (XMLConstants.W3C_XML_SCHEMA_NS_URI);
    Schema schema = sf.newSchema(schemaFileObj);
    Validator validator = schema.newValidator ();
    validator.setErrorHandler (new ParserErrorHandler());
    validator.validate (source);
    I tried to execute the validation through stand along java class and it worked correctly.
    However when I added this class into my Fusion web application, I am getting following error.
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: s4s-elt-character: Non-whitespace characters are not allowed in schema elements other than 'xs:appinfo' and 'xs:documentation'. Saw 'Alert1'._
    Can you please help me to figure out this problem?
    Edited by: Jaykishan on Jul 20, 2011 10:04 AM

    earlier it was
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: s4s-elt-character: Non-whitespace characters are not allowed in schema elements other than 'xs:appinfo' and 'xs:documentation'. Saw 'USAVER'.anmd now it is
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: s4s-elt-character: Non-whitespace characters are not allowed in schema elements other than 'xs:appinfo' and 'xs:documentation'. Saw 'Alert1'.some problem in this Alert1 message is what i guess.. some parsing error.. look closely..
    i guess some of the xml characters are not rendered properly in forum software.. or it may be truncated.. so i believe something wrong which is not visible..
