Error retrieving Clob

Question

Here's my code:
Statement stmt= conn.createStatement();
String sql= "select clob from table";
ResultSet rs= stmt.executeQuery(sql);
while (rs.next()) {
Clob clob= ((ResultSet)rs).getClob("clob");
String tmpClob= clob.getSubString(1, 1500);
System.out.println(tmpClob);
I get the following error:
java.lang.AbstractMethodError: oracle/jdbc/driver/OracleResultSet.getClob
Any ideas?

coreect like the follwing:
Clob clob= ((ResultSet)rs).getClob(1);
// 1 is the column index of clob data in the table
// In "select clob from table", 'table' is the name of the table? if not
// provide the appropriate table..
