Error: sp2-0310 unable to open file c:\desktop\oracle\table.sql
I am not able to open any files that I have downloaded and put into a file path. I keep getting the error sp2-0310 unable to open file. I made sure to save my files in a path with no spaces. What can I do to resolve this error message.
Thanks.
As already said, you need to verify you've really got the correct path. After that, you can also check to see that the file name is really table.sql. If you created the file in a simple text editor, sometimes the editor will append .txt to the file name. But if you have "Hide Extensions" turned on in Windows Explorer, then you wouldn't see the .txt extension. Check the file name and make sure it really is as you think and doesn't have another extension on it.
Finally, how are you trying to use the file in SQL*Plus? If the path and file name are correct, you should be able to do this:
SQL> get c:\desktop\oracle\table
and it should bring up the file into the SQL*Plus buffer. Or, you should be able to use:
SQL> @c:\desktop\oracle\table
to execute the contents of the file.
If you are simply using:
SQL> @table
then you could add the SQLPATH environment variable to point to c:\desktop\oracle and that would allow you to skip entering the path.
Hope this helps,
Karen

How to store SP2-0310: unable to open file errors in log file
We are using oracle 10g on Linux platform.
When we send scripts to the clients, then we also send a control file that executes all the sql files e.g.
control.sql
SPOOL test.log
SELECT 'Start of Control File at:'||systimestamp from dual;
SPOOL OFF
@./dbscripts/00_insert_scripts.sql
SPOOL test.log APPEND
SELECT 'End of Control File at:'||systimestamp from dual;
SPOOL OFFThe scripts are executed from SqlPlusW only by typing @control.sql
The problem is that when SP2-0310: unable to open file error comes, it appears on the screen only. It does not go in the test.log file. Is there any way to store these errors in a file from SQLPlusW.
Thanks.try mentioning full path....
try
@<fully qualified path>/00_insert_scripts.sql
also check if the file has necessary permission
ls -l <fully qualified path>/00_insert_scripts.sql -
Steps to repeat in version 4.1.0.18
1) mkdir sql
2) cd sql
3) touch script2.sql
4) touch script1.sql and write @@script2.sql
5) open the script1.sql from "Files" tree in sqldeveloper, choice connect to any oracle db , run script(F5)
Error starting at line : 1 in command -
@@script2.sql
Error report -
SP2-0310: Unable to open file: "script2.sql"
If try to execute this case in version 4.0.3.16 then all work will be fine.
How to register it ?

The SP2-0310 error occurs when you have not fully-qualified the PATH to the file. Rather than rely on a variable, specify the fully-qualified path.

ID CS3 "Error Code 5" Unable to open, file damaged beyond recovery. HELP!
System: Apple Dual 500 Mhz PowerPC G4, 1.75 GB SDRAM, Mac OSX 10.4.11.
I have a 36pg ID CS3 document, which is over 2gb because of embedded images. Workflow: create doc using links; when finished, embed all images then unembed to new folder to consolidate. then simply resave the ID CS3 file using the new links. sadly, having embedded, i was unable to save. so, i closed without saving. Now i am unable to open the file.
no problems before embedding, now get "error code 5, unable to open..."
I am painfully aware (now) that this is a bad workflow, as am i aware of several ways to improve this workflow. I do not need advice on a better workflow, i already know i did a stupid thing. i need help on how to recover the damaged file. quick. please. :)
does anyone have a workaround? Thanks for the tip, Bob. i spoke with a marketing guy at Markzware who asked me to forward it on, he was kind and helpful.

SR3 installation on solaris10 - unable to open file error
Hi Guru's
I am installing Netweaver 7.0 system BI, ECC ,Portal on solaris 10 and oracle 10g database. I am using SR3 installation Master for solaris sparc 64. During installation i come across errors such as 'Error : SP2-0310 unable to open ora_query3_tmp1_1.sql" .When i check in the 'sapinst' directory i see that this file has only read permssions. When i change the permission to full and rerun sapinst, again the same error appears. When i check the permission for this file, it is again in read only mode.
What is happening is, sapinst creates this file with rw-rr permission each and every time i run sapinst. i set the umask of the root user from which iam running the install to '000', but still the same error. root user is part of sapinst group. i checked all possibilities but couldn't get rid of this error. Seems like a bug in SR3 for solaris.
Has anyone come across this error before. If so is there any fix for this.
Would award points for whoever come with solution to this.
MosesYou can circumvent that problem if you don´t use "/tmp" as installation directory but a different directory. I always do a (as root)
mkdir /install
cd /install
<path-to-sapinst>/sapinst
This will also make things easier since you don´t have to step deeply into nested directory structures...

Error SP2-0310 while running @utlsampl.sql
After installing Oracle on Win 98 I
1.Login sql+ as system and manager
2.run @utlsampl.sql
3.the error got is SP2-0310 unable to open file utlsampl.sql
Is there a place to look up SP2 errors
Any thoughts.
Thanks in advanceThe file is located in $ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin. If you do not
specify a fully qualified path then SQL*Plus will look in its
default directory. Try @%ORACLE_HOME%\rdbms\admin\utlsampl.sql -

Edited by: Alex Lasker on 09.06.2009 9:49For the benefit of anyone who experiences this error in IIS7, the IUSR_xxx user no longer exists. You must grant permissions to "IIS APPPOOL\hfmAppPool" instead (select the local machine as the "Location" if Windows Explorer complains).
Similarly, for the benefit of those who get the error in HFM 11.1.2.1, security must be applied to the Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\product\FinancialManagement\Web folder. -
when I do a level 0 load from my desktop i am getting this error??
Unable To Open File [/oracle/deployments/Tomcat5/eas/temp/tempfile2320810pl
Unexpected Essbase error 1090004.
Please adviseWhen you do a data load from the client, if the file is not a server file Essbase has to copy it to the server to get it to load. That is why server based file loads are so much quicker especially for large files. I'm guessing the ID does not have permission to that tmp directory. Based on the message it looks like a Unix system. Check with your Unix admin about permissions on that directory

Error 'Unable to open file' when downloading SAP Query to Excel
Hi all
I'm running a SAP Query which is set to download straight to a spreadsheet (Pivot Table / Microsoft Excel). Intermittently it does not work - apparently at random (at least, I've can't recreate the error at will).
It does one of the following:
- Works ok, and creates the pivot table
- Gives an Excel error message 'Unable to open file', then returns to the 'save the data in a spreadsheet' popup when enter is pressed on the error.
- Does not issue error message, just goes to the 'save the data in a spreadsheet' popup.
In the last two cases, the excel pivot table sheet is not created.
Has anyone seen anything similar, or have any idea as to what is causing the problem?
Any help gratefully received!
Not urgent as I've found a way round - further testing seems to show that I don't get the error is Excel is already open - but in the past I've run many SAP query downloads without needing to open Excel first. I suppose it's possible that this is just something to do with the Excel setup at the user site

Hi there,
As you see in the heading, I am getting the error "Unable to open file because it isn't a valid Keynote document". There has been a number of threads on this and there seems to be a usual work around that works in many cases, by changing the file extension to .zip and then looking for the index file and making some more extension changes...unfortunately, in my case (and it also happened to others), there is no index file, so the usually suggested solution doesn't work...Can someone please help? I am working on a tight deadline and would like to try and recover the file.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Best,
Just a regular apple user
PS: any other presentation opens fine in Keynote (09)Have you tried to create a new Keynote Presentation? Do you have another previously saved Keynote file you can try to open? These will make sure it is a problem with this specific presentation and not the whole program.
Try to delete the Keynote Preferences. They are located in the folder Macintosh HD>Users>your username>Library>Preferences and titled com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist.
Your profile shows that you are still on Mc OS 10.6.6, is that true? You might try to update to 10.6.7 as I believe that there was a font issue fixed in this update (I don't know for sure since I am still on 10.5.8).
Try those and report back and we will see what we can come up with. -

E63 Adobe LE error 'unable to open file"
Hi!
I've bought an E63 six months ago and recently I've purchased a memory card.
After a few days I wasn't anymore able to open any pdf, either from the phone's memory, or the memory card.
I receive this error: "unable to open file!"
If I try to open the Adobe PDF executable file nothing happens.
Any suggestions?Hi,
Ensure that file name with same name and in same path should not be open while saving the data.

I just can't render any type of Quicktime file in AE CC 2014. I'm on Windows 8.1.
Even in CS6 was it not possible, but I never really used any Quicktime filetypes.
Normally I just rendered to .h264, but now that's only available via the insane slow Adobe Media Encoder, I want to use the Quicktime -> h.264 option, but it's just not possible.
I also want to render some footage to the Avid DNxHD codec, but this is also not possible.
Doesn't matter what type of footage, dslr footage, pictures, AE solids. Everytime I want to render in a Quicktime file I get this error:
AE error: Rendering error while writing to file (File-Location). Unable to open file. (-1610153459)
Installed the latest Windows version of Quicktime, didn't help...
I saw some topics about this, but they didn't provide a good solution. All they discussed was the hardware of the computer. I have enough space available and render to a NTFS drive.
Please can someone help me with this!Yes! I just solved my own problem. I still think that the internet doesn't provide an easy to find answer, so I will post this.
I had the latest version of Quicktime, but this version causes the problem. After some searching I finally found a page on the Apple website that confirms this.
Updating to QuickTime 7.4 may cause issues while rendering footage in Adobe After Effects - Apple Support
So I uninstalled my latest version of Quicktime and installed version 7.4.1. Everything works now the way it's supposed to!

Writing thermocouple data to measurement file from while loop
Hello, I'm trying to write thermocouple data that has already been filtered into a measurement file. My code works, but has many zero-time entries (probably from the filtering aspect), and some of the non-zero-time entries are even out of sequence (
