Error starting J2EE after EP installation
Hi,
I'm trying to install EP 6.0 SP9 in WAS 6.40 SP9 on Linux PowerPC. WAS is an standalone instance (only JAVA part).
The installation is aborted in the J2EE Start step (the step before the latest step). After that I cannot start J2EE Engine anymore, because the process jlaunch dies suddently, and on logs this error is shown:
ERROR => JHVM_LoadJavaVM: Cannot create Java VM (rc=-6) [jhvmxx_mt.c 480]
ERROR => Cannot load Java VM (<default>) (rc=-1) [jlnchxxi_mt 591]
SigISetIgnoreAction: SIG_IGN for signal 17
JLaunchCloseProgram: good bye (exitcode=-1)
What should I do?
Thanks in advance,
ArnauHi Arnau,
I would suggest to check the Java VM parameters. You can look for a section "Adapt Memory Configuration for the J2EE Server" in the installation guide or the SAP notes mentioned in the guide dealing with the Java VM parameters (like 723909 and 716927).

Error starting J2EE server in debug mode

Any help will be appreciated.

I have recently installed the J2EE SDK 1.3.1 and J2SE SDK 1.4.1_02. Upon starting the j2ee server (j2ee -verbose), get the following error message.

I am running Linux 7.2, Apache 1.3.27, Tomcat 4.1.24., and have two (2) NICs.
Any ideas on what might cause this issue?I believe I got the server working. The system may have had an issue recognizing the environmental variables being set in the .bash_profile and the setconfig.sh.
If anyone could clarify the errors above, I would greatly appreciate the information.

Error starting 4.0 console on Solaris 10
When I bring up the console (es-start -c -- -p 1611) the login window appears, and after I enter the username, password, and server name, I get the following text in a popup window:
WARNING
Communication could not be established with the server.
The server version may be incompatible.
and the console never comes up (login screen remains). We are running Solaris 10 on a T5120. We have configured SunMC to use port 1611.
AndyMy bad. I reconfigured the agent to use port 1611, but I assumed (wrongly) that I also needed to send the port to the console. Running es-start -c (w/ no other args) fixed my problem.

Mac O X Server v10.39 troubleshooting start up. 'console mode' screen
I have recently made use of my old *G4 400 mhz* desktop mac, by installing an old version *Mac O X Server v10.39*, to use as home server. The installation has gone well and the server has been working well for over a week, the users and shared points have all been set and there hasn't been any problems. It is now running headless and I am controlling it via Apple Remote Desktop, I have also set the energy setting preferences to put the server to sleep at 10 pm each night. I also have three other family macs which are connected and configured to use the server.
But today I have tried to wake the server via ARD, but it wouldn't wake up and also when I have tried to getting it to manually awake up it doesn't work either, even though the front light is on.
I then have then pressed the small reset button on the front of the G4 and now when it boots up, after seeing it go through the start up screens and once the progress bar has reached the end, the screen then goes to a black screen with the words:
Darwin/BSD (Server name) (console)
login:
This is were I'm stuck, I have no knowledge of the Terminal scripts etc.
But I have tried the put in the servers name, then pressed return, at this point the next line came up as
password:
After entering the administrators password, the screen then goes to a plain blue screen.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get passed this stage in booting up, or what I am doing wrong and how I can correct this situation.
Many ThanksHello !
Remade an new install with a FQDN* (yourhost.yourdomain.com) hosted by your provider with a A and MX (if you plan to use mail setvices) records pointing on your host
Too : it's imperative to enter a valid ip on your eth. link (no public adresse : like as 10.x.x. or 192.168.X.X on your en0
Even it's possible to setup like this, you must configure your router or firewall ... but much complex ! (Port mapping ... virtual server ... etc.. DMZ if you have ... ???)
Install a second eth card is good think :
1 for the wan link on the EN0
the other for the lan EN1
with a "real" domain name and the ip supplied by your provider : you can setup your server with this public ip on your wan and a 10-net on your lan.
(Your dns request will be forwarding to the DNS IP servers of your ISP : one line in option of the named.conf file)
Before you can install the software with your ISP setup (DNS and domain name) : But don't launch any services !!! nothing ! all off !
upgrade your os x software before setup via pref panel ..
at tis time, you got an local acces who is accessible via yourhostname.local and once you have the necessary described (domainname.xx hosted and public ip adress you can setup the services by runnig "Gateway Tool" to start DNS, NAT, DHCP and VPN services.
The Firts step is OK !
After you can finish the setup with in first : The DNS forwarding
Once you hosname and reverse resolving : you will be able to jump to the next !
But before you must get a perfectly lookup of your hostame and ip addr
(You can setup your DNS as a primary server ! Bind 9.2.2 run well ! but ... not really easy without a goot practice of bind and a good overview of Domain Name basics ... and insecure for your data ; DNS crashed = O.D. dead and access data under LDAP denied and lost !)
good luck !

Ora-01017 error starting J2EE: logon refused
I'm usig Web As 640 Abap+Java Sp16.
I was not able to logon anymore to the J2EE, both Visual Admin or vie the J2EE Start Page, so i did the following:
1) i checked in config tool wich was the ume.r3.connection.master.client
2)with SU01 in the Was 640, into the master client i changed the psw for J2EE_ADMIN
3) i logged with J2EE_ADMIN to define a definitive psw into the master client
4) with config tool i selected the 'Secure Store' node, and changed the parameter admin/password/J2EE_ADMIN
5) restarted the J2EE server and......
...it does not come up.
Into the jvm_bootstrap.log we see the msg :
"ORA-01017 invalid username/passoword, logon denied
What's wrong ? About wich user/psw is talking about and how I can modify it as I cannot start the configtool also ?
regardsHi Cornelia,
You are absolutely right, the issue is due to change of schema user password..
I faced the same issue, yesterday where i changed the password for the schema user and J2ee failed to start, and then locked the user account. So i had to manually unlock the schema user, reset back the password to old password and j2ee engine could then be started..
To check if the schema user is locked or not, you can use the following commands:
sqlplus "/as sysdba"
select username,account_status from dba_users;
in case user is locked then unlock it using the command:
alter user <user_name> account unlock;
But i have a question here, how does one change the password for schema user in 640 and 700 systems.. if i change it using oracle commands, j2ee fails to come up. So i used the procedure that SAP recommends, changing the password for the schema user, using brtools.. but again i face the same problem, j2ee fails to start and it locks the user account..
After changing the password using brtools is there something additional that is required to be done.
In my scenario it is a must for me to change the schema user password because the current password contains the character "@" which is pathetic, because tnsnames really fails to understand this character. If i use sqlplus and try to logon as schema user and current password, it fails becuase of "@".
Appreciate if some one could share the procedure for changing the password for schema user in 700 systems, specially standalone j2ee stack..
Thanks,
Chetan -
Starting J2EE server in console mode
Hello Everyone,
I have just installed WAS 640 SP3 J2EE only on AIX5.2 unix server. J2ee server starts and stops without any problem. I can even see the J2EE engine through the web.
Administrator user is locked because of the wrong password entries. I am trying to follow OSS note : 669848, it explains how to unlock Administrator user for SP3 systems which requires to stop the Java instance and start it console mode by jlaunch. when I run the following command after setting the LIBPATH to /usr/sap/NWS/JC00/j2ee/os_libs, but it never put me the console mode.
"jlaunch -file=/usr/sap/NWS/JC00/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties -nodeName=ID1693850 pf=/usr/sap/NWS/SYS/profile/NWS_JC00_cgunx130 -traceFile=tracefile3.log -startMode=console".
tracefile3.log shows the following error message at the end.

I have tried stopping and restarting the instance in the MMC, everything comes up fine.
Any ideas???
THANKS!!
TommyTommy,
I encountered the same error when installing Java in HP-UX OS. In my case this was due to the support packs on ABAP stack. I installed ABAP and applied recent support packs as part of post-install steps and then started the Java Add-in.
I re-installed ABAP Central Instance, Database Finalization and created and performed client copy. Thereafter, started Java Add-In. This time, the Java install completed successfully without the CJS-20057 error.
I hope this approach helps you too!
