Error trying to close track gap

I deleted a section of a clip in my timeline. I want to close the gap it created.
I parked on the gap. I tried to select "close gap" from the pull down menu and it is grayed out. When I try to delete the gap- I get 'operation not allowed" message.

It is likely the audio segment will not allow this to happen. You have to either disconnect the audio from the video or have enough of a gap in the audio segment to accommodate the video gap closure.

The order varies depending on your individual needs:
1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:

2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

Various errors, incorrect version of track (from iCloud restore) from an iTunes album

Sorry for being a bit vague describing the problems but they are too complicated to summarize in 1 sentence.
I bought a number of albums from iTunes last December, including LeAnn Rimes "I Need You". I have a car that allows me to play iTunes music copied onto its HD from a USB drive. I copied the iTunes music from my MacBook Pro onto the USB drive and then transferred the music to the HD in my car.
I subsequently discovered that some of the music was skipping when played in my car and the dealer thought the HD in the stereo only supports MP3. It was strange because track 4 in "I Need You" sounded very odd, like it was not the original track from the album but a re-mixed version. I thought it was corrupted due to the MP4 format not being supported. At any rate I decided to convert the iTunes tracks to MP3 on my MacBook Pro using iTunes 11.0.4
I selected all the iTunes albums and instructed iTunes to make MP3 copies.
When iTunes got to the 4th track in "I Need You", it reported an error trying to copy the track and stopped. When I tried to manually copy the track, iTunes said my computer was not authorized to play the track and asked me to log in. When I logged in, iTunes said the computer was already authorized and that I had 1 computer authorized and could authorize 5. When I tried to play the track, I got the same iTunes error about not being authorized again.
When I did a "Get info" on the track I noticed it was purchased on the same occasion as all the other tracks in that album but unlike the other tracks it was missing the name of the person who bought it - me.
I deleted the track and enabled iCloud to download another copy. That worked but the track that was downloaded sounds very strange, not like the original track of the album but like a re-mixed version. like the one that played in my car. Track #4 "You Are" from the "I Need You" LeAnn Rimes album is from 2001, an old album. But the re-downloaded version sounds like a recent re-mix. I know this because I have 2 iPads which also contain copies of this iTunes album.
The newer iPad Mini syncs with my Mac frequently and has weird problems with this same album (phantom duplicate tracks that don't play anything) and when I try to play track 4 it plays track 5 instead. On the other hand my iPad 2 is still running iOS 5 and it plays the original track #4 correctly and has no strange issues with anything. The iPad 2 does not get synced very often because it stays at home whereas the iPad Mini travels with me.
I suspect my iTunes library got corrupted by iCloud. The version of track 4 for "I Need You" is not the track I bought. There was a recent occasion when I noticed iCloud was enabled on my MacBook Pro out of the blue without my permission and all my music were showing duplicates. I turned off iCloud and thought it was some sort of fluke occurrence. But now, I think it may have a connection to my problem today. iCloud may have downloaded a new version of the track to my iTunes library on my MacBook.
What is going on with this iTunes album??? How can I restore my libraries with the correct album tracks? Can someone in iTunes please contact me - I can play both copies of the track and you can judge for yourself. This is really bizarre.

Fair enough, although the age of the file really has nothing to do with it. Digital files do not degrage over time like, say, a printed piece of paper.
I suppose what could have happened is the track could have become damaged by copying it around on storage media that might have damaged blocks. But that is just speculation on my part. I don't know how accurate it might be. At any rate a simple re-download from your purchase history, or restoration from your backups should solve the problem.

How can I close a gap on the timeline?

I am recently moving over to Adobe Premiere CS6 from Final Cut Pro Studio 7 (wasn't feeling X) and I am wondering is there any way to close a gap on the timeline? I removed some footage and instead having to highlight all of the remaining footage and bring it over, is there a way I can just click a "close gap" type of button similar to Final Cut Pro to resolve this?

Hi, I'm trying to the same thing - delete a clip then close the space, and I can delete the clip but it won't close the gap. I've tried all the ways listed but when I get to the second step either it's not highlighted or nothing happens.

Delete empty space between clips in the Expert view timeline
You can quickly delete empty space between clips in the Expert view timeline by using the Delete And Close Gap command. Alternatively, press the Delete or Backspace key. Both techniques shift adjacent clips over to fill the gap.
In the Expert view timeline, do one of the following:
Right‑click the empty space, and choose Delete And Close Gap.
Select the space you want to delete, and press the Delete or Backspace key.Note: If the gap is small and difficult to select, move the current‑time indicator to the gap and click the Zoom In button.

Exporting error: Lightroom has encountered an error and must close

In LR 1.0 (Trial), every time I attempt to export my images, I get "Lightroom has encountered an error and must close." Details of the error point to first discburning.dll and then ntdll.dll as the culprits. I am only able to export using the "Export Presets."
Prior to using LR 1.0 (trial), I used Beta 3, then 4.0, then 4.1. Prior to the first install of LR 1.0, I was warned by a friend to uninstall any older versions of LR. I did, the install was successful. After encountering this error, I uninstalled LR, followed by deleting the LightRoom Program Files folders, the backups, the databases, the settings, and registry entries. After reinstallation, the problem still exists.
I've seen discussion (without definite resolution) of this issue in the beta forum, thanks to Google.
Any ideas?

So how do I disable nView. I've accessed the nView Desktop Manager from the Control Panel and discovered that the "nView Desktop Manager" only had the Enable button and that only 2 of the 11 tabs (Profiles was the only other active tab) were grayed out. I can only assume that nView is disabled and has been while I've been having this ptoblem. Just the same, I went so far as to uninstall the drivers altogether, reboot, launch LightRoom again. Upon trying to export, I get the same exact error. Please help. I really loved LR in Beta, expecially 4.1, but this problem really makes it difficult to work with.

Windows Hyper-v is bare-metal hypervisor .
Please try to install win8 on real hardware then enable hyper-v to install VM .

Trying to close a document line but exception is thrown

I'm trying to close a document line, that is, setting LineStatus property to 1 (wich coresponds to 'C' [closed]).
But i receive this message from SAP: 'can't close a row of this document type' (it's a translation so the message could be slightly different), prompting that this is an error in LineStatus property.
Any ideas?

Hi Peter,
The first thing to test would be if you can close the line manually in the SAP Business One application without using the AddOn.
- If not and you get the same error it might be system behaviour depending on which form.
- If yes, there might be a bug in the DI API which should be reported in a SAP Ticket.
The second thing to test would be if you can close the row
- in a different document of the same type
- in the same document type in a different database
Let us know of your results and more specific information which document you are using.

Hi,
This could happen if audio/video is received after the first fragment has been created. To ensure this doesn't happen audio and video should start at the same time.
What I suggest is that you clear out the streams folder under livepkgr and the .stream file from under livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent, restart your server and then start your audio-video publish at the same time. Are you using FMLE to publish the stream?
If that doesn't help, you can try increasing the fragment duration in the Event.xml.
Let me know if that works.

Trying to close window on cancel

On cancel action [Button], I am trying to close current window but not finding a way to get the access to current window instance so I can close and destroy it.
Existing tutorial "Dialogue Boxes in WD Applications" talks about canceling a pop-up box but I am trying to close out existing window.

Error trying to render 7.5 minute HDV video in any format (and other problems)

I am at the point of desperation here. I have been working on a video (using HDV as the source) for several weeks. It is about 7 and a half minutes but has many video tracks and effects. Using elements 4 has been very slow but it has worked until today. For some reason (i must have crossed a tipping point) the little i added today has made it extremely unstable. After a couple of minutes of editing it stops refreshing the preview pane (can still hear audio at times) and I have to restart to get it back (which takes forever).
And now the main issue is when I try to render as quicktime or MPEG, it says there was an error trying to perform the operation. I created a test project with one hdv clip in it and it can render fine (and i was rendering this project find this morning). Anyone have any suggestions? I have followed the tips strewn throughout the threads here. I have a quadcore 6600 processor and 4gig of ram (though vista only recognizes 3. I still have 120gig of harddrive free. I just need to add the soundtrack and I am done, so if I could just get the rendering working I can deal with the extremeley slow pace.
Apologies for the long thread and for repeating many of the problems others are experiencing, but I really need to resolve the rendering problem or the project will be useless to me. Strange thing is i tried saving the project and cutting it in half but still had a problem, maybe i didn't do enough to benefit from the smaller size.

UPDATE: Through some experiments I think it is due to having the effect on two tracks at the same time. I can resolve that. I am going to try and break my project up into multiple projects and see if I can get it rendered.

Just did some tests and realized that it is the 'shadows/highlight' effect that is causing the flickering. when I disable that effect it renders correctly.
I use that effect extensively to fix lighting and always turn off the auto setting and set it myself. But even with manual settings there is significant flicker (even a lot more than when I use the auto setting). Any thoughts on that? I have been using it since the beginning with no problem and now all of a sudden it renders the effect with extreme flickering.
Any help would be appreciated.

Problems when trying to close periods

Hi all,
I'm trying to close period and when using the Oracle Diagnostic Tool it gave me this error: Items have been found in one or more organizations sharing set of books 'XX_DOVERIE' which will prevent closing of period '12-2010'. But there is no unaccounted payments, invoices, etc. The report Period Close Exceptions Report is empty. Any ideas?

You should typically avoid changing values using diagnostics > examine.
And for far reaching things such as period status, you should never do it via this method.
If you have to close the period, follow the standard procedure for closing a period. If you are encountering problems with it, you can either ask the question on these forums or raise an SR.
