Error unzip file

Hello,
I've an error when I unzip a file with that its name contains any of this characters:
 ,  , ,  ,
I think that the stream is a UTF-8 charset and has problems with other charsets.
How can I resolve this problem without renaming the files?
A lot of thanks,
Marcial

    Hi Praveen,
    After testing the issue in my environment, I find the issue is caused by the code in Arguments is incorrect.

  • Unable to unzip files , unable to move apps into the app foldercant update

    I cannot unzip files. Also if i try to install a new app by dragging it to the applications folder it says "that files already exists".
    also if i try to update with software update it gives an error. i tried running verify disk permissions and repair disk permissions but this did nothing please help i am scared cuz my last time machine was along time ago.

    Not to worry.
    A few clarification questions first.
    What exactly does the dialog say when you try to drag a new app to the applications folder? Is it something like, "an older version of this already exists in this location, do you want to replace it with the version you are moving?"
    And, what application are you attempting to use to unzip files?

  • Problem with unzipping file

    I am trying to unzip a file using java.util.zip. It is throwing a ZipException in the first line where I instantiate ZipFile object.
    ZipFile oFile = new ZipFile("/myzip.zip");java.util.jar is not working either. It fails right here:
    JarFile oFile = new JarFile("/myzip.zip");Here is the exception thrown in the above cases:
    java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file
            at java.util.zip.ZipFile.open(Native Method)
            at java.util.zip.ZipFile.<init>(Unknown Source)
            at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(Unknown Source)
            at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(Unknown Source)
            at ReadZipFile.main(ReadZipFile.java:21)
    An interesting observation:
    I am able to extract the contents of the zip from the command-line using jar utility.
    jar xvf myzip.zipI am stumped! I think jar utility internally uses the same classes for unzipping files. How come it is working with jar utility whereas it is not working from Java program? Also, the myzip.zip appears to be a valid archive - I am able to open it with winzip.
    Any pointers will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ganesh

    I think the above reply is correct but didn't explain why you would be getting a file not found. Unless you have your zip file at the root of your harddrive the slash in the filename is improper. Without the slash your code will assume your current working directory and look for the file there.
    By putting that forward slash in there you are telling the code to look at the root of the filestructure and NOT at the current working directory.

  • Unzip files from SDCARD

    HI,
    i am trying to unzipping files from external sdcard..
    i am using zipme.jar, but when i am deploying this application it give error.
    please nay one hep me to unzipping files using 3rd-party jar

    But my question is that if in a source folder we have several files which are in zipped format and the folder is getting updated every min (say) with new zipped files (which are dumped from some outside environment).I need to unzip all the files present in the folder ,if new one comes there then also check for the new zipped file and unzip it.You don't need to keep re-stating that.
    I had written a code for unzipping a file from a folder (thinking the folder is not updated everytime).Or that.
    Now I am thinking of using threads because if I create suppose 5 threads and every threads poll the source folder and pick up a zip file ,send it for unzipping it and again poll the source folder for any new entries?Or that.
    If using the threads here hits performace then what should I use?Err, what you presently have?
    Provide me any sample code or link that would be more useful.You've already written it.

    i am using 7zip to unzip the file. java program can check the unzip file has finished unzip process?

    Downloading and burning Linux or Windows ISO images for example with a single flipped bit can cause system instability nearly impossible to track down, and not otherwise detectable. An MD5 checksum (OR SHA) check will quickly detect any such transmission errors. Not something anyone I know bothers to use unless it's important data. The temporary fix of changing the about:config setting, then expanding to full screen in downloads was working. But now, based on my interpretation of comments made on the authors Sourceforge page, Firefox has made updates that prevent the MD5 Reborned Hasher from working in Firefox at all. If that's true, I would really like to know the reason. With all this talk of NSA spying, I would think more people would be interested in making sure someone isn't tampering with their downloads. I have no idea. But I do believe the wonderful volunteers at Firefox need to figure out a way to make this valuable piece of security software whole again. Thank You.
    PS: For those needing to verify a file, you might want to try the "Microsoft File Checksum Integrity Verifier" kb841290 . It's old, but does large file MD5 from a command prompt.

  • Help - problem unzipping files on Terminal

    Hi,
    I have been unzipping files (zip and rar) using Terminal for quite sometimes now. For unknown reasons, it's given me some problems unzipping today.
    When I typed cd. /desktop, as I did in the past, it suddenly showed an error:
    -bash: -bash:: command not found
    I typed "/bin/echo $PATH", as I saw other previous posts have suggested. The result:
    /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin
    I am not sure what that means, i.e. is it ok? or is it not? and how do I fix the problem if not ok?
    I am completely IT illiterate, especially when it comes to any computer language. So please, a simple and straight forward answer, or preferrably a step-by-step guide, will be truly appreciated.
    Many thanks for your kind assistance in advance.

    MrHoffman, thanks ever so much for the helpful answer.
    a "cd ~/Desktop" instead of "a dot and a space" did allow me to unzip my files finally!
    Just wonder, by doing what I have just done, i.e. a dot and a space and then the target directory, had I already committed the sins of damaging the "Path" (something I learned from reading other similar posts in the forum)... Basically, I just want to know if i have damaged the file contents... and if so, how bad is the damage? (so far, my Mac works fine....)
    Digress, I would have loved to stay away from using Terminal as far away as I could, since I am dreading of the thought of me ended up doing something damaging to the lovely Mac. But unfortuantely, there isn't any idiot-friendly tool available for unzipping any password-protected zip files.... Would appreciate if you could offer any alternative solution to this, i.e. other than using Terminal! (NB. I have also looked into using EZ 7z and X7zX for Mac before, both of which i just gave up in the end!)
    Anyhow, thanks! : )

  • Problems unzipping files

    Hello there,
    I tried to create two small programs: Zip and UnZip, using the java.util.zip package. The Zip file works perfectly and WinAce can read the files zipped. But the UnZip program doesn't seem to work: it unzips
    the files almost correctly. I unzipped a text file and it's readable, but except for the normal characters that appeared in the original text, some other not-displayable characters appear at certain points (quite many since the unzipped files are a few kilob bigger that the original not-zipped file). I really don't understand what the problem is. Well, actually, I didn't read any tutorial about using java.util.zip, I just read the API documentation and I sorted out a way of zipping and unzipping. Please, if you can, tell me what is the problem with the program:
    public class UnZip
         public static void main(String[] arg)
              try
                   if (arg.length < 1)
                        System.out.println("Usage: java UnZip <zip file> [to dir]");
                        System.exit(0);
                   String dir = "";
                   if (arg.length > 1)
                        dir = arg[1] + System.getProperty("file.separator");
                        File f = new File(arg[1]);
                        if (!f.exists()) f.mkdirs();
                   System.out.println("Decompressing files from file " + arg[0]);
                   ZipFile read = null;
                   try
                        read = new ZipFile(arg[0]);
                   catch (ZipException ex)
                        System.err.println("Zip error when reading file " + arg[0]);
                        System.exit(1);
                   catch (IOException ex)
                        System.err.println("I/O Exception when reading file " + arg[0]);
                        System.exit(1);
                   Enumeration en = read.entries();
                   while (en.hasMoreElements())
                        ZipEntry entry = (ZipEntry) en.nextElement();
                        System.out.println("\tDecompressing file " + entry.getName());
                        FileOutputStream out;
                        try
                             out = new FileOutputStream(dir + entry.getName());
                        catch (FileNotFoundException ex)
                             System.err.println("\tCannot write down to file " + dir + entry.getName());
                             continue;
                        InputStream re = read.getInputStream(entry);
                        int av = 0;
                        while ((av = re.available()) != 0)
                             byte[] b = new byte[av < 64 ? av : 64];
                             re.read(b);
                             out.write(b);
                        out.close();
                        System.out.println("\tDone decompressing file " + entry.getName());
                   read.close();
                   System.out.println("Done decompressing files");
              catch (Exception e)
                   new File(arg[1]).delete();
                   e.printStackTrace(System.err);
    }

    It is the following code which has a swapped conditional expression,
    and also I would loop differently.
              int av = 0;
              while ((av = re.available()) != 0)
                   byte[] b = new byte[av < 64 ? av : 64];
                   re.read(b);
                   out.write(b);
              }Move the byte buffer outside, and better think in kilobytes.
    Read is waiting and forcing an actual read, so it seems
    safer than an available.
    byte[] buffer = new byte[1024];
    for (;;) {
        int nread = re.read(buffer);
        if (nread < 0)
            break;
        out.write(buffer, 0, nread);

  • Unzipping files using java.util

    I am trying to unzip files using java.util.zip
    It works fine when I am trying to unzip a file that is already residing on the server.
    But I want to unzip the file that user will upload to the server .
    My code is uploading zip file to server but not able to unzip this zip file giving error
    java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file
    What could be the problem
    I am not getting exactly
    Can you give me any clue
    Thanks

    sounds like the uploading is the problem. Are you FTPing the file? If so check that it's being transferred in binary, not ascii.

  • Unzipping files - works, but need some hlp to make it better

    Hi there!
    I am trying to unzip files using java.util.zip
    My code works If I have a parent directory for all files/folders.
    So when I unzip the structure is as -
    zipFileName -> parent folder -> child files/folders
    where, zipFileName and parent folder names are same.
    But I want to have it as
    parent folder -> child files/folders.
    Here is my code :
    public void unzipFiles(String zipFileName, String zipFolderPath, String unzipPath) {
    Enumeration entries;
    ZipFile zipFile;
    try {
    //Set up a directory name for the unzipped files
    String courseFolderName = zipFileName.substring(0, zipFileName.indexOf("."));
    //Get the zip file from its location in the "zip" folder on theServer
    String separator = File.separator;
    zipFile = new ZipFile(zipFolderPath + separator + zipFileName);
    //Set up the directories in the data store
    entries = zipFile.entries();
    while (entries.hasMoreElements()) {
    ZipEntry entry = (ZipEntry)entries.nextElement();
    if (entry.isDirectory())
    String dir = entry.getName();
    System.out.println("entry :"+unzipPath + separator + courseFolderName + separator + dir);
    checkFilePath(unzipPath + separator + courseFolderName + separator + dir);
    unzippedFolders.addElement(courseFolderName + separator + dir);
    //Add the unzipped files to the data store
    entries = zipFile.entries();
    while (entries.hasMoreElements()) {
    ZipEntry entry = (ZipEntry)entries.nextElement();
    if (entry.isDirectory())
    continue;
    if (debug)
    System.out.println("Extracting file: " + entry.getName());
    copyInputStream(zipFile.getInputStream(entry),
    new BufferedOutputStream(
    new FileOutputStream(unzipPath + separator + courseFolderName + separator + entry.getName())));
    zipFile.close();
    catch (IOException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    [\code]
    The above code works if the zip file is having all files under a parent folder:
    zipFileName -> parent folder -> child files/folders
    sample output:
    unzipping the files...
    entry :C:\DataStore\template\test2/IMAGES/
    Creating directory C:\DataStore\template\test2/IMAGES/
    entry :C:\DataStore\template\test2/INPUTS/
    Creating directory C:\DataStore\template\test2/INPUTS/
    otheriwse, if I have no levels under my zip level, I get an error like this:
    unzipping the files...
    Extracting file: schedule.htm
    Extracting file: IMAGES/AMTC.GIF
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\DataStore\schedule\IMAGES/AMTC.GIF (The system
    cannot find the path specified)
    Can somebody pls help me find out where I am going wrong. Any help would be really really great.
    Thanks

    I don't know if this will help but... If I understand correctly, is not
    recreating the correct directory tree?
    // unjar the jar to the destination directory destdir
    // destdir = c:\mydir\ is prepended to each jar entry
    JarFile jarFile = new JarFile( "myjar.jar" );
    Enumeration e = jarFile.entries();
    while( e.hasMoreElements() )
    JarEntry entry = (JarEntry)e.nextElement();
    File localFile = new File( destdir + entry.getName() );
    ---> // peel off the parent path and make as directories
    ---> File directory = new File( localFile.getParent() );
    ---> directory.mkdirs();
    // these can be inlined if desired
    FileOutputStream fileOutputStream = new FileOutputStream( localFile );
    BufferedOutputStream bufferedOutputStream = new BufferedOutputStream( fileOutputStream );
    copyInputStream( jarFile.getInputStream( entry ), bufferedOutputStream );
    jarFile.close();

  • Unzip files within labview

    I have been playing around with the new zip functions in labview 8.  I like it, nice and simple.  Then I realized something.  They don't have any functions listed to unzip files?!?!  Am I missing something, or is there another method to call zip files in labview, unzip to a location, and then grab files from the unzip within labview programatically?  The only method I can think of is to have winzip installed on the machine so you can use the command line execute function (but that is an awful method IMHO).  I would have thought that if NI got the license to build zip files they would have also gotten the rights to include the unzipping as well.

    Unzip functions in native G would be very useful, simply because that code is supported on the RT targets. There is an unzip option in the palette in LV 8.5, but it returns error 2 if I try to unzip anything with it...if the file only contains one file it works, but it retunrs the error and with more than one file inside the archive it fails....is it supposed to work, or is there still no proper unzip support?
    I have code I want to move from a PC to a RIO unit, but the lack of a G-version of unzip makes this difficult, the OpenG alternative is not native G so no luck there...It seems the VIs available in LV 8.5 could do the job, if only some minor bug-fixing was done(?)
    ZIP/Unzip support as native VIs is not very practical. Compression is a very tricky business and developing such algorithmes in a way that always works is not very easy and quite time consuming, not to mention that LabVIEW is not the ideal invironment to do low level bit shuffling and manipulation.
    Combine that with the fact that there are ready made and VERY throughly tested open source libraries with the needed functions (of course mostly in C) and you really realize that trying to reinvint that wheel in LabVIEW itself is simply an exercise in vain.
    The OpenG ZIP/UNZIP library is based on the wide spread zlib library that just about compiles on any C compiler that dates from after the early 1960ies and so it should be no problem to grab the according C source code from the OpenG Toolkit depository on sourceforge.net and recompile it with the correct C toolchain for your CRIO realtime target.
    Oh and if you mean to transport the unzip algorithme to the FPGA target instead of the realtime target, keep dreaming. Once the FPGA chips start to reach the 1 Billion gate count this could actually start to get feasable. 3 Million gates is really nothing for such a task.

  • Web-Disk on OSX 10.9 Give me this error: "Finder got an error: Network file permission error."

    Previously I was using OSX 10.8 and Web Disk was working great.
    Since I upgraded to OSX 10.9 Web Disk Dont Attach to my compputer and give me this ERROR:
    FInder got an error: Network file permission error.
    When I got this ERROR first time I searched GOOGLE and found this link: http://cammodude.blogspot.no/
    And I did:
    To force all connections to be SMB1:
    Open A terminal window
    paste in the following line followed by the return key(should be all on one line):
    echo "[default]" >> ~/Library/Preferences/nsmb.conf; echo "smb_neg=smb1_only" >> ~/Library/Preferences/nsmb.conf
    What the command does:
    Creates a file called nsmb.conf  in your  home directory at the path ~/Library/Preferences/nsmb.conf.
    Adds directives to force SMB connections to use the SMB1 protocol.  This is slower but stable.
    Then I could use Web Disk on OSX 10.9 after executing this command in Terminal.
    But now I restarted my Macbook and now Im NOT able to connect to Web Disk and get the same ERROR.
    FInder got an error: Network file permission error
    After trying 100 times it attaches 1 time but then show this ERROR:
    Can't get <<class cdis>> "my.server.com/2078" of application "Finder".
    If this happen then I can see the files in Finder and see the Contents and Size of files but if I open a PHP file in BBEdit then it shows BLANK.. But actually it is NOT blank.
    Now Im stuck How can I solve this? All help is highly appericated..
    Thank you so much...

    Hi,
    Make sure to chmod the app, something like this :
    chmod -Rf 777  secure_site_WebDisk.app
    (in my case the CPanel provided the app for my OSx version.)

  • [Solved] Error : The file or folder path /Probl?me 1 does not exist

    Hello,
    I encountered this error
    The file or folder <path>/Probl?me 2 does not exist
    while I was trying to open a directory already extracted from a zip file containing directories with special characters. In this case, it is a "è" that was misinterpreted as a "?".
    I searched the forums and on google, the solutions proposed do not work for me. Although, I have to deal with these files written in french, I would like to have my locale in english (US), with a system wide support for special characters.
    Attempt 1: Adding the option : iocharset=utf8 into the fstab, like this :
    fstab :
    # /etc/fstab: static file system information
    # <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
    none /dev/pts devpts defaults 0 0
    none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
    /dev/cdrom /media/cd auto ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
    /dev/dvd /media/dvd auto ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
    /dev/fd0 /media/fl auto user,noauto 0 0
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/24ba75ac-e52d-40eb-a599-83b394b500b2 /boot ext2 defaults 0 2
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/c797f409-00bc-479a-b4d6-ab49943f644b / ext4 defaults 0 1
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/668427a8-5f51-42bd-a316-fc7984bf5f4f /var ext4 defaults 0 2
    /dev/sda7 swap swap defaults 0 0
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/417cd1b7-8f06-414b-84d5-e8714d9646ab /home ext4 defaults 0 2
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/ef9aa00e-0515-4d7b-aa23-8096e787250d /usr ext4 defaults 0 2
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/17d401b7-2fc7-4d9f-8e17-657d86926d2e /tmp ext4 defaults,iocharset=utf8 0 0 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/71e543b6-e06c-4b0e-b1e3-3b491ff1fefe /var/cache/pacman/repos ext4 defaults 0 2
    #/dev/sda12 /mnt/archive ext4 defaults 0 2
    #.host:/ /mnt/hgfs vmhgfs defaults 0 0
    This solution does not work, because after adding iocharset=utf8, in front or after a "defaults", after a reboot, while mounting the filesystem, there is the following error message:
    Mounting Locale Filesystem :
    mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1,
    missing codepage or helper program, or other error

    Attempt 2: Changing all the locale features in KDE and in /etc/rc.conf as well.
    $ vim /etc/rc.conf
    LOCALE="fr_CA.utf8"
    HARDWARECLOCK=""
    TIMEZONE="America/Montreal"
    KEYMAP="us"
    CONSOLEFONT=
    CONSOLEMAP=
    USECOLOR="yes"
    It is complicated to remove these directories. I had to use the inum to get precisely these directories before removing them.
    $ ls -il
    total 8
    1577566 drwxr-xr-x 2 [username] [username] 4096 28 jan 07:09 Probl?me 1
    1577573 drwxr-xr-x 2 [username] [username] 4096 28 jan 07:09 Probl?me 2
    $ find . -inum 1577566 -exec rm -i {} \;
    rm: impossible de supprimer « ./Probl\212me 1 »: est un dossier
    Note that the hypothetical character 'è' is represented has a '\212', a 'È' if seen as a extended ASCII character.
    These directories cannot be deleted this way :
    $ rm -r Problème\ 1
    rm: cannot remove `Problème 1': No such file or directory
    or
    $ rm -r ProblÈme\ 1
    rm: cannot remove `ProblÈme 1': No such file or directory
    What should I do to be make the operating system recognize those special character, and interpret them correctly ?

    I found a working solution, but better solution are also welcome
    I had to have fr_CA not only in utf8 but also in iso88591. I had to modify the /etc/rc.conf this way :
    LOCALE="fr_CA" <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
    HARDWARECLOCK=""
    TIMEZONE="America/Montreal"
    KEYMAP="us"
    CONSOLEFONT=
    CONSOLEMAP=
    USECOLOR="yes"
    To preserve the english US language system wide, I had to add the following line in the /etc/profile :
    # Allow french special character while in en_US
    export LANG=en_US
    The character misinterpreted by a "?" is now seen :
    as a "è" in dolphin
    as a "?" in the console
    It is now possible to access the folders.
