Error using Appraisals IViews in MSS 60.1.3 in EP 6.0 SP9

Hi,
I am using the standard Edit Appraisal iview in MSS. While attempting to create or open an existing appraisal from this iview, a pop-up window appears, supposedly the
com.sap.pct.hcm.editappraisalformular.default iview. However, a portal runtime error occurs instead as such:
" An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : com.sap.pct.hcm.editappraisalformular.default
Component Name : com.sap.pct.hcm.editappraisalformular.default
Index: 0, Size: 0.
Exception id: 03:31_13/01/05_0049_6551950
See the details for the exception ID in the log file "
Help will be much appreciated, thanks!

Here's an extract from the log message:
Caused by: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0

Does it seem like a Customizing error? Am wondering if the iview is trying to access some table that has no entries in it.

  • Error using BSP iviews with Portal NW04s SP10

Has anyone tried using a BSP iview on the new NW04s Portal?  After we installed the NW04s SP10 Portal, BSP iviews are not working.  The error is that the iview is N/A.
    Any thouhgts?

    Hello Leandro,
Look SSO is the process to that u have to specify Credentaials only once and u can connect to backend system without giveing Credentials again.
Now the basic Thing is that user that u have loged in portal and User in Ur Backend Should be same for SSO to Work.
once SSO is configured properly then u can call ur BSP application's from back end without Giveing Credentials again for backend login.
    Hope this help's

  • Error while using XML Iview, please contact your system administrator.

    Hello everybody,
I have already posted a detailed message for the XML iview problem sometime back but havent got any reply so far. All the replies had come from users who are also facing the same problem. I am trying to use a XML iview for fetching RSS feeds from one of the internet source, i have entered the proper URL and selected the proper RSS to XHTMLB transformer also and have entered the proxy settings in the http service and enabled it and restarted it also, but again when i am previewing the Iview its giving me the error <b>"Error while using XML Iview, please contact your system administrator."</b>. I am using
        Area           Version
        J2EE Engine    6.40 PatchLevel 98256.313
        Portal         6.0.14.0.0
, can someone tell me whether its a bug in sp14 or i am missing something while creating this XML Iview. Expecting a proper reply.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Sarabjeet.

    Hi Sarabjeet,
The XML iView uses server-side fetching, so if you are having problems with a regular URL iView in server-side fetching mode, so the problem with the XML iVIew probably has to do with the proxy settings.
And since you got a 407 error, it seems there is an issue with proxy settings or the proxy server, as mentioned in this description of 407 error:
The HTTP 407 code only applies to users who are accessing the Internet behind a proxy server. This is common in government and corporate workplaces. The 407 code indicates that your computer must first authenticate itself with your company's proxy server. Check with your IT department or computer support group as to the exact reason why you may be getting this error. It may be possible that the proxy server does not allow downloads of specific files (exe, cab, com). You can also verify that your proxy server settings are valid.
I will check if I can find out any more specific info.

  • "Error while using XML iview" with XML iview template

Our portal platform: HP-UX,  WAS 6.40 JAVA, EP 6.0 SP14
We created an XML iview using XML iview template and configured the XML source URL with RSS feeder addresses such as"https://forums.sdn.sap.com/rss/rssmessages.jsp?forumID=41". And then select RSS to XHTMLB as the XML transformation format and save.  When I try to preview the iview, I always got error "Error while using XML iview, please contact your system administrator".  Here is the log and among which I found an error "java.net.UnknownHostException: news.163.com".  Does this indicate that the Portal server is not able to interpret the address of the URL host?

  • Deployment Error : "No valid iviews"

    Hi,
I am new to Visual Composer. I have created a sample model using the example given in help.sap.com, During deplyment i got the error "No Valid iviews".
Can anybody help me resolvng this error.
    Thanks
    Vinit

    Hi Vinit,
have you consult the log file?
You should also enable the flex error messages:
    <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/EnablingFlexerrormessagesinVisualComposer">https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/EnablingFlexerrormessagesinVisualComposer</a>
You can also have a look at http://<yourportalhost>:<yourport>/nwa/
That is the path to the NetWeaver Administrator. Click on Tab "Monitoring" and then navigate to "Track and Trace". There you can take a look at the log files. I suggest you set a filter corresponding to you user-id. This makes debugging of visual composer errors quite easy, as some errors that are not channeled back to the visual composer are logged there.
    Best Regards,
    Marcel

  • Advantages of using nested iViews

    Hi All,
Could anybody point out what are the major advantages of using nested iViews? Under what circumstances is the usage of nested iViews desired or recommended? Thanks!
    cheers
    Prachi

    Hi Prachi
The nested iviews comes handy in case where in you model expects numerable UI elements or heavy UI screen.
Nested iview is a way of achieving componentized models and also avoids re-work.
You could avoid error like these:-
    "Error in compiling Flex application:
Error: Branch between 8479 and 41869 around line 0 exceeds 32K span.
If possible, please refactor this component.
    Failed to compile AAD8T3.mxml"
This is the well known 32K limitation from Adobe Flex 1.x. The compiled applications are not allowed to be larger than 32K. That usually happens with larger models.
    Solution:-
In order to solve this issue, you need to redesign your application and use nested iViews (basically splitting the model into multiple components)
To instantiate you,go through this thread:-

  • How to create Customized Iview in MSS

    Hi Gurus ,
we are currently using MSS, as per requirement we need to create a custmized IVIEW in MSS using JavaWEBDYNPRO .
    Please let me know .
    1) where i can create javawebdynpro,is anywhere i can sample programs of JavaWebdynpro to check how SAP tables and FM being used in the Java code ...?
    2) How to create Iview in the MSS ?
    3) How do i Call Javawebdynpro in the MSS?
    ViswaRani

    1. the simplest solution to your requirement is create a webdynpro(abap) application using following function modules.
    HRMSS_RFC_STRUCTURE_GET
    PT_ARQ_ACCOUNTS_GET
    BAPI_ABSENCE_CREATE
The effort of above will be 2-3 days
    2. If you want to develop an applicaiton that can be integrated to the team viewer then its simple,
build an application with above RFCs either in abap or java and just integrate the iview to the team viewer as per note 1112733.
with new release all the team viewer iviews throw portal event that passes a string and your application can catch that string. so if you select an employee as a manager then that is passed from the team viewers to all the iview that are covered under the page. read note 1112733 its really good.
these approches are already implemented for various customers and working absolutely fine. Discuss with your customer before you decide on the approach.

  • Using xml iView to get data from URL generating rss feeds

    hi,
    I have a URL
    http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forecastrss?p=USCA1116
    from the yahoo weather site.
    It opens XML data.
I then created an XML iView in the following way:
In step 3 in XML source; i typed the above URL. Clicked on Next.
In Step 4 for Selected XML translation format I chose MY_RSS_TO_XHTMLB.
When I preview it gives the message : Error while using XML iView, please contact your system administrator.
    I have Portal SP14.
So as mentioned before in a forum, I went to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Service Configuration -> Applications -> com.sap.portal.ivs.httpservice-> proxy
and changed "HTTP Proxy Host" to "proxy" and "HTTP Proxy Port" to 8080.
Then to re start I right clicked com.sap.portal.ivs.httpservice, went to Administrate and restarted the services.
But I still get the same message
Error while using XML iView, please contact your system administrator.
Can you please let me know if these 2 settings are correct.
    thx.

    Hi,
Could you please let me know if you were able to solve this issue. Inspite of all the suggested configuration we are still getting the same error, as stated by you.
Anyone able to overcome this issue, please reply. Also let me know if we need to consider any specific versions of portal & browser, JRE etc..
    Thanks,
    KSK

  • How to hide command fied using transaction iview

    Hi All,
Is there any way to hide command box (transactional field) in Portal using transactional iview ?
I have searched in sdn forum, it is possible via IAC iview using application parameters ~headerOKcode = 1.
Since our ITS is not configured properly and it is continously giving Browser errors (Object expected, 'wgu_global_eventhandler' is null or not an object).
So.........I can;t go ahead with IAC Iview.
I suspect.....anyone has gone through this problem and experts has a solution with transactional iviews to hide those command boxes.
Appreciate your inputs in this regards.
    Thanks,
    Anil Kumar

Try this in 'Application Parameters' field '&~NOHEADEROKCODE=1'

  • How to use different iViews for variables and queries?

    Hi all!
I need to use separtate iViews for storing variables and extracting queries.
For example, I have one variable "Currency" for two different queries,  and I need that all of these queries (in separate iViews) would use the value of currency was put by user in the first iView with only one input.
How can I do this task? Is it possible at all?
    Thanks for replies.

    Hello Alex,
You have to use EP client framework (EPCF) in your development.
I hope this idea will help you.
    Kind regards, Pino.
