Error using HTTPS

I am trying to send data from an SAP system to a non-SAP system using the HTTP adapter.  The url is using port 9082 and am using a certificate for authentication.  I have opened a hole in our firewall for the transmission.
I set up SM59 with the url/port/path, and specified the certificate installed in STRUST.
When I run a test, I get the following error in XI.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
- <!--  Call Adapter
  -->
- <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">
  <SAP:Category>XIAdapter</SAP:Category>
  <SAP:Code area="PLAINHTTP_ADAPTER">ATTRIBUTE_CLIENT</SAP:Code>
  <SAP:P1>407</SAP:P1>
  <SAP:P2>ICM_HTTP_SSL_ERROR</SAP:P2>
  <SAP:P3 />
  <SAP:P4 />
  <SAP:AdditionalText />
  <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
  <SAP:Stack>HTTP client. Code 407 reason ICM_HTTP_SSL_ERROR</SAP:Stack>
  <SAP:Retry>A</SAP:Retry>
  </SAP:Error>
I'm not real sure what this means and can't find anything in the forums about this.  Can anyone offer any assistance?

Larry,
Ok so your using the HTTPS adapter, have you uploaded the certificate to the keystore in visual administrator?
Which version of XI/PI are you using?  You may need to run the SSO2 Wizard (if PI/SP14 or above) otherwise kestore in VA should give you the necessary set up.
Make sure you set up HTTP and SSL correctly here is the link for the setup in NW04:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/ef2940cbf2195de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
check the "Technically Enabling SSL" it describes the steps needed to run strust and J2EE Visual Adminstrators (utilitizing the keystore) here is a little snipet from the web page:
●      Use the J2EE Visual Administrator to set up an SAP Web AS J2EE engine as HTTPS server. If not already done, you have to import a certificate generated by a CA identifying the SAP Web AS into the keystore named service_ssl in the Keystore service. In addition, you have to assign this certificate in the SSL Provider service.
●      Use the J2EE Visual Administrator to set up an SAP Web AS J2EE engine as HTTPS client. If not already done, you have to import the certificate of the CA of the HTTPS serveru2019s certificate into the J2EE engineu2019s keystore view named TrustedCAs.
Good luck this should help you even a little.

    On looking the system properties again, the output was
    [exec] tModelInstanceInfo_description : com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol|weblogic.utils|weblogic.utils|weblogic.net|weblogic.management
    But still the error is same. Can somebody help me out here as to what is going

    Hi everybody,

    I have used a soap adapter (for webservice) instead of rfc .My input file sends the date as request message and gets the sales order details from the webservice and then creates a file at my sender side.

  • ADF Mobile : Rest call to a webservice using https - Certificate Error

    I'm trying to connect to a web service giving json and which uses https. I am using the following code.
    Also SalesApp connects to https://abc.com
    RestServiceAdapter restServiceAdapter = Model.createRestServiceAdapter();
    restServiceAdapter.clearRequestProperties();
    restServiceAdapter.setConnectionName("SalesApp");
    restServiceAdapter.setRequestType(RestServiceAdapter.REQUEST_TYPE_GET);
    restServiceAdapter.setRetryLimit(0);
    restServiceAdapter.setRequestURI("/sales/rest/v1/resources");
    try {
    response = restServiceAdapter.send("");
    I am getting an error of " Certificate was issued by an unrecognized entity ".
    Is there anyway to ignore the certificate warning ? Any request properties which can help with this?
    I'm not looking at adding any private certificates/verfying the certificate issued by server, just want to ignore the warning
    and proceed with the rest call.

    Hi, sure you will need to register your private certificate with ADF Mobile's embedded JVM. This is a security mechanism - the JVM we embed will only recognize certificates from well-know CA out of box. However, you can register your private certificate with the JVM. The steps are described in the ADF Mobile Developer Guide: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35521_01/doc.111230/e24475/security.htm#CDDCCDFF.
    Please note that you will need to be very careful when registering the JVM - extra spaces for example will cause certificate error and it could be hard to diagnose. Please ensure all the fields matches exactly with your private certificate's fields.
    Thanks,
    Joe Huang

  • Error using Sender SOAP adapter over HTTPS

    Hi experts,
    Few weeks ago, i developed an interface as follows: SOAP <-> XI <-> RFC.
    I tested the functionality using Altova and everything went well, with HTTP.
    However, when i use HTTPS it fails throwing these error messages (pop ups):
    <i>"HTTP error: could not post file"......
    "Error sending the soap data"</i>
    I have reviewed the SSL certificates installation and everything seems to be ok, but currently i am stuck and do not know how to fix this.
    I have also change the ID comm channel from HTTP to HTTPS with client aut.
    Is there any special service i have to activate? (XI services and SPIGATE are already done)
    Could you please assist?
    Thanks in advance and best regards,

  • Error starting HTTP-Server: Address in use: JVM_Bind

    I installed J2ee version of Oracle9iAS R2 for windows. When I start my application server, I always get the error "Error starting HTTP-Server: Address in use: JVM_Bind". In the previous version, if I met this message, I can change the port number in "http-web-site.xml", but now, no matter what port number I changed, I always get this error message.
    Could anybody please help me with this issue?
    Can Oracle provides a tool that can automatically free the port?
    Thanks, Jessie

    If you are getting this error while starting the Oracle9iAS by using the NT services or using command line (dcmctl) then there is a port conflict for the HTTP Server. You can go the EM Website and select HTTP Server ->Server properties and select the port# for the HTTP Server.
    OC4J is configured to listen for AJP requests only and the ports are dynamically assigned. The port ranges can be specified : OC4J Instance -> Server Properties

  • Callout Using https Error

    Greetings:
    We have a 10.1.0.4 Standard DB with dbwsclient.jar loaded. We have a web service callout that works well using http. However, when we try to use https (which is a requirement) we get an error:
    ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception:
    java.rmi.RemoteException:
    java.rmi.RemoteException:HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException:
    java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException:
    Message send failed: https: null; nested exception is:
    [the same as above]
    This smells like a permission problem but I am executing that as SYS and I can't identify a specific permission problem.
    In addition to the error, I am concerned about the need to install the self-assigned certificate and CA certificate of the WS because we don't have a Wallet Manager for the server, which looks to be a feature of Enterprise.
    Do we have SSL support loaded into the DB already?
    Can anyone provide advice about how to callout using https?
    Thanks!... Rick

    I got this to work. A tip of the hat to quwang for the assistance.
    First, I find it very helpful to build a test case and execute that outside the DB. For example...
    public static void main(String[] args) {
         try {
              InterfaceServiceSoapClientJPub.setEndpoint("https://xxx");
              String status = InterfaceServiceSoapClientJPub.helloWorld();
              System.out.println(status);
    This provides a meaningful error message that the host is not trusted.
    Next, I created a keystore like this...
    keytool -import -file myCA.cer -keystore keystore -storepass myPassword -alias myHost
    Once this works outside the DB, we are ready for the next step.
    On Windows, create a backup of db_1\javavm\lib\security\cacerts
    Put keystore there, named cacerts
    RESTART the DB
    (This is what I did, not necessarily the best thing to do.)
    In the PL/SQL that calls the Java function, be sure to set the endpoint before making the call. This is necessary because the https endpoint installed by JPub is munged up. It will look like http://https://myhost. You can have a look at what's in there with getEndpoint().
    Thanks again!... Rick

    In your middle tier (where your dads.conf file is located), do you have a file called marvel.conf (this was used in very early versions of APEX if memory servers)? If so you will either need to put your /pls/apex entry into your marvel.conf file of configure the App Server to user the dads.conf file. (I think all of this is done in the http.conf file but I am not 100%)
    Also, this sounds like a stupid question but can you ensure that you only have entry in you dads.conf or marvel.conf file that relates to /pls/apex
    If you are still having issues, try updating the line: PlsqlDatabaseConnectString faiz:1521:orcl ServiceNameFormat
    to: PlsqlDatabaseConnectString TNS_ENTRY TNSFormat
    where TNS_ENTRY is replaced by a valid TNS Identifier in the same Mid Tier home: ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
    Finally, in earlier versions you had to use a forward slash character as the last value in the Alias line i.e. Alias /i/ "E:/oracle/product/10.2.0/db/Apache/images\". I always configure this line in this way and never seem to have an issues. Not sure if this is required anymore but may be one more thing that is mis configured.
    I hope all of that helps.
    Let me know how you get on.

    This is happening since we switched from JDEV 9.0.2 which always started up cleanly. It appears that the port is not being released on OC4J server termination. We are not running any other web servers and verified all open ports with netstat -a.

    Hi,

       Log says
    Upload Error message: HTTPS protocol is not supported, please ensure this server is not using HTTPS. My webdynpro applications are getting deployed without any issues.
         How to resolve this?

    Hi Sumathi,
    As there are often problems with the Quick PAR Upload reported, I would suggest to use the "normal" PAR upload from the icon tray (you have to activate the portal icons in the icon tray). That is almost that "quick" (one or two clicks more needed, we don't talk about more than a second) and - it works (it least it should, and at least it works in most cases even if the Quick PAR Upload fails).
    Hope it helps
