Error using sidenotes script

I have been trying to implement the sidenotes script using Windows 7, InDesign CS5.
Initially I had a error display message saying that there was a problem with line 81 of the sidenotes script. After deleting this line the script then worked.
Now I would like to stack the sidenotes to align to the bottom of the page. However, the action now returns another error message - 'undefined is not an object - line 140'. This is when I attempt to do the whole document.
If I try to do just a text box I receive the same error message but for different lines depending on the selected alignment.
Would anyone be able to help me fix these errors?

@Emma – what specific "sidenotes" script do you mean? The one from Peter Kahrel?

In 10.1.2.0.2 you need to create your own build.xml
I have found an example, it may be of some help. This does call a property file

When i remove the alert() from the js file, the println is working. But what i neede is the alert.

As you're talking about "backing beans", are you using JSF?
After all, this is definitely not the way to let Java and JS interact with each other. Java runs at the server side. JS runs at the client side. Java can write JS code to the response, but definitely cannot call it. JS can access the HTML DOM and invoke requests to the server (form.submit() and AJAX and so on) and send parameters along the request, but definitely cannot call Java classes and methods independently. Nothing more and nothing less than that.

Acrobat standard 9.0 error while enabling commets option using Java script object

I'm using the below java script code in my VB 6.0 application for enabling commets options in the PDF file

I get much the same problem with VB6, Acrobat 9 Pro and WinXP SP3. When I single step the line:

in debug I go to the error handler for my Sub. Inspecting the VB Err object has Number = -2147417851 and Description = "Automation error
The server threw an exception." I get a Microsoft crash notice about Acrobat a short while later.
I've experimented with the JavaScript debugger in Acrobat and you can execute Collab.showAnnotToolsWhenNoCollab = True and reference the value of Collab.showAnnotToolsWhenNoCollab in the console. The problem appears only when accessing Acrobat Javascript through the Interapplication Communication API.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated. I tried Adobe's Acrobat support and they were no help at all.

ERROR 1708 When using a script on a Text Invitation

Whenever I use a script in Text Invitation- even if something as simple as "beep"- I receive an error that reads : Error : Error - 1708. The strange thing the script is executed successfully but I always get an error. I am using Version 4.0.2. Any ideas?

Here are the 4 scripts needed that you must put in your Home Library- Scripts- iChat folder.

Help: Need script help to delete hidden layers. Action errors using panel command.

I am trying to make an action (that is using some scripts) that will delete hidden layers. When I try and action that in photoshop, the actions stops for an error if the file didn't have any hidden layers. I think I need to script it so it will delete the hidden layers, and keep going if there aen't any.
I couldnt find anything in th ejavascript ref guide for doing this. ( I'm sure I was looking right at it, I am a noob).

Here is a script to will delete hidden layers but not throw an error is there are no hidden layers.

Note you could also do this with just actions steps. Have the action add a layer then hide it before the delete hidden layers menu item step. That way there would always be at least one hidden layer and no error.

Error (1046) using matlab script

Mathworks has good documentation about how to register MATLAB as a COM Automation server in the Windows registry when launched. I would try to do that if the option to choose script server is greyed out (Ctrl+F regserver).

Import TDM in MATLAB using NI script: get C++ error

Error running ssodatax script for partner applications

I am running the ssodatax script after creating a partner
application using the user interface in the portal. I get the following
error after the script starts running:

It appears that ssodatax in your environment is unable to find the script ssoseedp.sql. This script should be available in plsql/sso directory under the ORACLE_HOME. Please find the script ssodatax and look for the sso subdirectory within the directory that contains ssodatax. If you find ssoseedp.sql in sso, then you can try running ssodatax from the directory that contains it.

What is your readonly variable meant to store: a value to be supplied as argument to the stored procedure?
Either way, I agree with SSISJoost, try to use Execute Sql Task, I prefer to make as much as possible use of the SSIS components.
Maybe the reason why you write a script is that you assume one cannot call an EXEC stored procedure immediately in a data source in a data flow component. But you can prepare the Exec statment in a string variable and then use that string variabl in
a Oled db source with SQL command as variable.

Problem-Report generation using shell script

We have the Production database and the Reporting database (copy of Production database),
both on Oracle 9.2.0.5 and Solaris 5.8. There is a package inside the Oracle database, which extracts some data from inside the
database, and would generate a report. A shell script has been created in Solaris which would
send in the parameters and call the pakage to generate the report. The parameters it is sending is
the name of report to be generated, and the location where it is to be generated, both hard-coded into
the script. The script is scheduled to run through crontab.
The problem we are facing is that, if we run the script for Reporting database, it successfully
generates the report. But if we use that script for Production database, it gives the error
"Invalid directory Path". I have tried using various other directory paths, even '/tmp'
and '/', but it still gives the same error when executed for Production dataabse.
Could somebody provide any ideas what might be going wrong.
The reasons it is to be executed on Prod db and not the Reporting database are unavoidable.
It anyway runs in off business hours and takes about 10secs to execute.
Please do let me know if there is any other info that I missed to provide here.

I will be just guessing because you didn't provide contents of script and package.
The "Invalid directory path" as you said could be ORA-29280 due non existent directory.
Try execute (as sys or system) select * from dba_directories; (or select * from all_directories; as user which the script is login to) on both databases and compare the results. If there is missing your important directory then create it using create directory <dirname>; (from sqlplus and don't forget to grant rights for user).
This error could come from shell script. In that case you should find resolution yourself because you didn't provide script source.

Unable to Print From from Web-Based Sites, Error Occurred in script.

When I try to print, I keep getting an error from a script running too long when I try to print anything web-based. I can print documents on my computer wirelessly, but not web-based (i.e.., financial statements). What is causing these errors from web sites? It is frustrating continually getting an error message. I have an HP 65000A Plus wireless CN557A#B1H, all in one printer and using Windows Vista Home edition operating system.
When I hit print, an error message comes up saying;
"An error has occurred in the script on this page"
Line:2053
Error: Invalid procedure call or argument
At the bottom, it asks " do you want to continue running scripts on this page?".
Any help would be appreciated. As mentioned, it is very frustrating.

I have the same exact problem as SandyStill. It tries to print, ejects plain paper and nothing pending in the printer. I am running a Dell XP Pro, Adobe Reader 8.1.2, RAM-1G, and an HPDJ 6940 printer. Tried tech support with HP to no avail because everything else prints fine.
I've even tried some of the suggestions of another thread using the Microsoft Utility to remove Adobe and then download it again with no success.
Does anyone have a solution?
