Error Using the VB Outline API

Recently, I wrote a VB 6.0 application to perform a simple task in order to accomodate difficulties with Hyperion Planning. The application initializes the API, opens the outline, deletes a few members, restructures, and exits.Following is my function call sequence and return codes:Function ReturnsEsbInit 0EsbAutoLogin 0EsbOtlOpenOutline 0EsbOtlFindMember 0EsbOtlDeleteMember 0EsbOtlWriteOutline 0EsbOtlRestructure 0EsbGetProcessState 0EsbUnlockObject 1030002EsbOtlCloseOutline 0EsbLogout 1030002EsbTerm 0Msg #1030002 reads "Invalid call sequence in ESSAPI function"I verified that my function call sequence matches the sequence in the online documentation. After running the app, the outline is still locked by the user logged in and a network error message appears in the log.Anybody have an idea what could be wrong with the code? I'd appreciate any help.Rick [email protected]

Never mind. Thanks for reading. I figured it out...I had a Do..Loop statement with EsbGetProcessState until done inside it. In the code example online, there's an additional EsbGetProcessState command before the loop. Once I included this, it works perfectly. No clue why though. It appears that ESB_STATE_DONE was the default value before it started checking?

  • How to use the Public Java API

Is it possible to use the Public Java API to write a custom transformation in Java and use this in OWB. i.e. Say I have a Dateofbirth field in my source database and an Agegroup field in the target database, and I write a transformation in Java to take the Dateofbirth as an input parameter to the method and calculate the Agegroup e.g. 25-30, and return it from this method which then populates the Agegroup field in the target database. If so, how do I go about this?

    Martin,
In general, yes you could... but you do not need to. You could use the UI to implement this requirement. The public Java API is there for you to manipulate metadata. How you implement your system, is independent of that.
The way you would go about the case you just mentioned... you would write the Java code, deploy it into the database, wrap it in a PL/SQL procedure or function, and call it from OWB.
Would this be a good idea...? I think no. Unless you have very complicated calculations that can only be performed in Java, I strongly encourage you use the PL/SQL language. Reason being: transformation will be much faster, because there is no need to translate PL/SQL into Java and back again.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark.

  • How can i use the operationsComplete JAVA API in EJB2.0

    Hello guys,
My Issue is cleaning the EJB Cache. some guys saying using JAVA API like operationsComplete like the follwing
    weblogic.ejb.interfaces.EJBLocalObject
    public.void.operationsComplete()
    weblogic.ejb.EJBObject
    public.void.operationsComplete()
    Please reffer the link below
    (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/ejb/entity.html#wp1194003)
    Understanding Passivation of Entity Beans
Entity beans that are involved in transactions can be passivated when necessary in order to attempt to prevent a CacheFullException when an attempt is made to insert an entity bean into a cache that is full. Passivation is handled automatically by the EJB container and you do not need to change the way you program EJBs in order to take advantage of this feature. However, you can optionally program your EJBs to communicate to the cache that they are done performing all operations in the current transaction. The cache can then make use of this information when evaluating beans for the possibility of passivation.
To optionally program EJBs to notify their cache that they are done performing operations in the current transaction, you can use the operationsComplete Java API as follows:
    weblogic.ejb.interfaces.EJBLocalObject
    public.void.operationsComplete()
    weblogic.ejb.EJBObject
    public.void.operationsComplete()
It would be great help if any guy give me a solution.
    Thanks in Advance

Netweaver is comprised of different components...
in WAS ABAP.. if you go to SPAM.. and select imported support packages and click display..
You will see list of components.. some of the components you might see at same level and some follow different paths...
    ex:
    SAP_OCS  - > SPAM/SAINT UPDATE 24
    SAP_BASIS -> Support pacakage 13 for 7.0
    SAP_ABAP-> Support pacakge 13 for 7.0
and the same way you can find different components in java engine...
    http://<host>:<port>/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo
You can upgrade each of them by individual support packages.. or you can upgrade stack by stack..
stack is collection of supporpt packages...
If you follow stack.. then you can tell that you at NW04S Support stack 10 or 11... if you upgrade by support package always it is collection of versions of different support packs in your system...

  • ITS Error: "Use the most recent SAPGUI"

We currently have an SRM 4.0 system with support package 6 with a basis
component at 640 suport package 13. We are using the classic scenario
and are connected to an R/3 system what was recently upgraded to ECC
    6.  When we attempt to try to use the WBS, Cost Center or asset search
helps we get the following error: "Use the most recent SAPGUI
version".  We can click past the error and eventually get the search
    results.
This issue does not occur when we switch over to using the internal ITS
in SRM 4.0.  Since SAP currently supports SRM 4.0 connected to ECC 6.0,
the fact that we are using the external ITS in SRM 4.0 should not be an
issue since it is still supported.
Does anyone know If there is a requirement for our SRM system to be on the internal ITS
while connecting to an ECC 6 system?  Also, can anyone please let us know and/or provide any
published document that states this, I have not found anything that
    states this requirement.
    Regards,
    -Paul

    Hello there
I'm not quite sure what differences to HCM the SRM has but we had the same problem. Please check OSS Note 905135 and following. As far as I know the 6.20 external ITS was the last "external" version. Which means all scenarios connecting to a 2004s or higher system need to use other technologies or the internal ITS.
    Lots of luck.

  • Reading the mode channel start and no. of bits using the CAN channel API

Currently I am using the CAN channel API to get information from a CANdb file.  I'm using it to get max, min, scaling information, etc.  However, I can not use it to get the start bit and the number of bits in the channel mode when using mode-dependant channels.  Is there an easier method to retrieve this information using one of the CAN API's instead of manually parsing the file myself for the information?

I think that there has been some misunderstanding with regard to the
original question. I believe Dillon is trying to find the start bit and
number of bits in the multiplexer. The terminology of multiplexer and
mode gets a little confusing. For clarification, my understanding is
that a mode is a specific value of a multiplexer. In the case of Dirk's
example code, he was able to retrieve the number
of bits of the CHANNEL, but not the number of bits of the MULTIPLEXER.
I believe that I have run into a similar problem to
Dillon's. I want to read a NI CAN Database (*.ncd) or a Vector CAN
Database (*.dbc) programmitically. I have attached a zip containing a
VI and some *.ncd file to allow others to see my progress thus far.
This is a heavily modified version of Dirk's previously posted program.
As you can see, it is easy to get a list of messages using the "CAN Get
Names" VI. Using that list of messages, it is also easy to get a list
of channels by reusing the "CAN Get Names" VI. The list of channels
does not include any information as to whether or not they belong to a
multiplexer, but fortunately we can use the "CAN Get Property" VI to
find out which channels are mode dependent and the value of the mode
that the channel corresponds to (if it is mode dependent).
Unfortunately, this does not give us any information as to the location
or length of the multiplexer which contains the mode. Thus, I know
whether I should be looking for a multiplexer and I know what value to
watch for in the multiplexer, but I have no idea where or how to look
for that value in the CAN message.
    Interestingly, by
playing around with Dirk's database that he had attached, I was able to
determine that the list of channels does not always give out the same
information. Typically, you will simply receive an 1D array strings
containing only the channel names, but the output is different in the
event that you have a database that meets the following criteria:
        1. Two channels (in different modes) have the same name
        2. The database contains at least two multiplexers
    In
this case the output will be a 1D array of strings in which the
repeated channels (regardless of whether they are in the same
multiplexer) will be output in the format "<message
    name>.<multiplexer NAME>.<mode value>.<channel
name>". The channels that have unique names are simply output as the
channel name. Now this is helpful in that by default the multiplexer
name contains the start bit of the multiplexer, but this cannot be
relied upon. The creator of the database could easily change the name
of the multiplexer and the format is only adhered to when the
previously mentioned criteria are met. Also it still does not tell us
anything about the number of bits expected in the multiplexer (remember
Dirk had found the number of bits expected for the CHANNEL).
I have found another alternative output format when the following criteria are met:
        1. Two channels (in different modes) have the same name
        2. Only one multiplexer is contained within the file
    In
this case the output will be a 1D array of strings in which the
repeated channels will be output in the format "<message
    name>.<mode value>.<channel
name>".  Again, this special format is only used for the repeated
channels. Uniquely named channels are simply output as channel names. While this is not particularly useful, but I thought I should mention it.
    It
is also probably worth noting that I found the previously mentioned
alternative formats by directly reading reading a *.ncd file. It
appears that by reading the channels directly from MAX we get at least
    one additional format (<message name.channel name> ).  Considering
that this is actually even less information and since my application
specifically requires that I directly read a CAN database without the
assistance of MAX, I have not significantly explored this avenue.
    Let
me finish by reiterating the question that I am asking: How do you
programmitically determine the start bit and number of bits of the
multiplexers in a CAN database (*.ncd or *.dbc). I have attached a zip
file containg my current "testing" VI and some databases to illustrate
the results that I have described above.

    Hello Aditya,
Thanks for showing interest in my question.
To answer your question of what I am trying to do, I hope this can shed some light.
I was given a PO number and an Outbound delivery number to work with.
We have created a custom (module) program that handles transactions regarding outbound deliveries, and one feature of this program is to do a reversal of Outbound deliveries already posted.
When using this reversal feature using the given PO as reference, the error message which I mentioned in my previous post, is displayed on screen.
The user is curious why this happens and yet the posted outbound delivery involved is reversed.
    Additional info:
    • VL02n > Post Goods Issues - to process(?) given Outbound delivery
    • Custom program - to do the reversal process
    • VL02n does Mvt 641 while the reversal does Mvt 642.
I apologize as to not being so clear but I am not so well versed with MM and its workings.
    Thanks.

  • Changing user password in Active Directory using the JNDI GSS-API/Kerberos5

    Hello,
I am trying to the JNDI GSS-API to change a user password on an Active Directory Server 2003. I have seen a variation of this using SSL on the thread [*http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=592611&start=0&tstart=0*|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=592611&start=0&tstart=0]
but I can't seem to make this work using the GSS-API. I can successfully create a javax.security.auth.login.LoginContext.LoginContext and then call the login method on it to log in as a user. I then call the javax.security.auth.Subject.doAs() method which calls the run method in a class extending the javax.security.PrivilegedActionClass. But when I actually try to change the password using InitialDirContext.modifyAttributes(), I get the exception:
    *javax.naming.OperationNotSupportedException: [LDAP: error code 53 - 00002077: SvcErr: DSID-03190DC9, problem 5003 (WILL_NOT_PERFORM), data 0*
*If anyone can help me figure out why it doesn't work, that would be great!*
P.S: I know the error seems to suggest that there might be some active directory setting that is preventing this from working, but I've checked all relevant settings on the Windows 2003 server Active Directory that I can think of: In the User properties->Account->Account options, I've made sure the user can change password. Also, in the Group Policy->Computer Configuration->Windows Settings->Security Settings->Account Policies->Password Policy, Maximum password age is zero and so is minimum password age.
    Here's my java code:

}The relevant entry in the JAAS.conf file that is referred to as "marker" in the LoginContext constructor is:
    marker {
    com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule required client=TRUE;

This is one of the two Active Directory operations I have never solved using Java/JNDI. (FYI the other one is Cross Domain Move).
My gut feel is that the underlying problem (which happens to be common to both Change Password & X-Domain Move) is that Java/JNDI/GSSAPI does not negotiate a sufficiently strong key length that allows Active Directory to change passwords or perform cross domain moves when using Kerberos & GSSAPI.
Active Directory requires at a minimum, 128 bit key lengths for these security related operations.
In more recent Kerberos suites and Java versions, support for RC4-HMAC & AES has been introduced, so it may be possible that you can negotiate a suitably string key length.
Make sure that your Kerberos configuration is using either RC4-HMAC or AES and that Java is requesting a strong level of protection. (You can do this by adding //Specify the quality of protection
    //Eg. auth-conf; confidentiality, auth-int; integrity
//confidentiality is required to set a password
    env.put("javax.security.sasl.qop","auth-conf");
//require high strength 128 bit crypto
    env.put("javax.security.sasl.strength","high"); in your ChangePasswordAction class.
You may also want to enable sasl logging in your app to see what exactly is going on and you may also want to check on the Java Security forum how to configure/enforce/check both RC4-HMAC or AES is used as the Kerbeos cipher suite and that a string key length is being used.
    Good luck.

  • Error using the test console of the Oracle Service Bus 11gR1

Hi I am facing a an issue while using the test console of the Oracle Service Bus 11gR1 .
Every time I try to execute a business service or a proxy service I end up getting the following message.
    Error Accessing Test Configuration
*"Test Console" service is not running. Contact administrator to start this service.*
In fact to add to my frustration I am unable to execute any of my proxy services from outside clients like SOAPUI as well.
Is anyone else facing this too ??
Also every time the server starts I can see some diagnostic error messages on my Eclipse console.
*[ERROR] AdapterManager - ServletContainerAdapter manager not initialized correctly.*
Attached the whole log at the end below.
To provide an update on my trouble shooting
    1. ) I tried to give the IntegrationAdmin and IntegrationDeployer roles to my admin user. in fact i also tried to give it all the possible privileges.
Result: Still the same error message.

How can oracle let a release slip in with such a Major Issue.
Please can any one help or provide a work around atleast.

I guess till version 10gr3.1 you only needed to start one server and it allowed to access both admin and service bus console.Yes, in 11g as well you may access the admin and OSB console by just starting the admin server but in 11g OSB configuration gets deployed on OSB server (managed server) and test service also runs over this server.
Are you saying there is some other server I need to start just for running the test console ????Yes. Managed server osb_server1 needs to be started for deploying, testing and accessing OSB resources.
As If the OSB server was not running how can I check my published services, modify them and do all the bits and pieces after opening the open the service bus console but not just test them???You can modify and save your configuration without staring OSB server but if you will check in change centre then all the changes being done without starting OSB server will remain in partially activated state.
I have been using the service bus for 3 years and I have never faced any such issue. With each new release you may get new features and with a major release like 11g, architecture and functionality may change.
If it all there is some other server I need to start then whats the process to do so ??Open command prompt. Navigate to $Domain_Home/bin and run command
    startManagedWeblogic.cmd <nameOfManagedServer>
    for eg. -
    D:\OFMW11g\mw\user_projects\domains\ofmw_domain\bin>startManagedWebLogic.cmd osb_server1
Once this server is up and running, try using test console.

  • Error using the distiller in Acrobat Professional 8 to create a PDF from an Aspose.Words .doc docume

    Hi,
We use Aspose.Words to create Microsoft Word (.doc) documents from one of our Intranet applications. These documents are then further modified in Microsoft Word and are then converted to PDF files using the distiller in Acrobat 8 Professional.
The distiller ends with a message saying it encountered an error and could not complete the conversion.
If we create a document directly in Microsoft Word and then use the distiller to convert it to a PDF, the distiller runs just fine.
Would you have any idea of what might be causing this problem? The distiller gives no indication of the cause of the problem, only that is one!
I also tried using the Create Adobe PDF Online service to convert the same Aspose.Words .doc file and it worked fine.
Any help you can give on this would be most appreciated!
    Thanks!

Thanks for your response. I mistakenly referred to the distiller.
We are using PDF Maker in Word. It appears as an icon on the Word toolbar once Acrobat Professional 8 has been installed. When I open the Aspose.Words .doc document in Word and click on the toolbar icon, PDF Maker launches and starts the conversion program and then Microsoft Word ends with their standard message "Microsoft Word has encountered an error and needs to close...".
I also tried going into Acrobat Professional 8 and chose File --> Create PDF --> From File off the menu bar. I selected the same Aspose.Words .doc document file to convert and once again the conversion process started, but this time it gave me the following error message:
    "Unable to convert PDF file.
Invalid page range or conversion setting parameters."
When I clicked on OK to clear the message, I got the following:
"Acrobat could not open 'xxxxx.doc' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to Adobe PDF or use the Acrobat toolbar found in Microsoft applications."
I assume that since the on-line service can successfully convert this document, it is a supported file type and is not damaged (not sent as an email attachment, so no issue there). I tried opening the document in Word and printing it to Adobe PDF and that worked, but my users really like the convenience of the Acrobat toolbar so I would like them to be able to use it to create PDF files from Aspose.Words documents.
I am using all the default settings. Is there some setting I should be changing?
As I mentioned earlier, I did try the Create Adobe PDF on-line service with this same file and it worked just fine, so there seems to be a difference between how the on-line service does the conversion and how PDF Maker does it. Printing the document to Adobe PDF also works, so again, there must be some difference in the way PDF Maker does it.
Any guidance you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks very much!
