that error I receive, I can't uninstall quicktime, only itunes, but it won't start up, anyone a solution ???

okay, in that case it's quite likely that the strange itunes error message is being caused by a broken quicktime. in this context, the 0x80040707 usally indicates the installation configuration information of the QuickTime has been compromised.
here's what we'll try first.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:

next use the QuickTime component of the complete uninstall instructions in the following document as a guide to a manual removal of leftover QuickTime program files and folders.
Trouble installing iPod, iTunes, or QuickTime software in Windows
once we've got all the existing QuickTime scraped away, let's try a careful standalone QT 7.0.4 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.0.4 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

When I started up itunes on my PC I get this error: a required itunes component is not installed. please repair or reinstall ituens (-42404). How can I fixed this? I uninstalled it at least 6 times. Try my script FindTracks. Select a few of the missing files to start with then run the script. Choose No at the first prompt so that you can check how it works track by track, then confirm or edit the location of the media folder where your files are. Once you are happy with how it behaves let it process larger numbers of tracks automatically.

HT204406 itunes shuts down when I start up itunes match
I've had itunes match on my computer for some time and I'm nearly finsihed the process of matching all my songs, with only about 300 left to be uploaded out of a total of 8000+. In the past few weeks, when I start up itunes on my computer I get the message "Please sign in again". When I sign in again and start up itunes match, I get the message "itunes has stopped working" and the program shuts down. itunes itself works fine, but the match function appears to have gone haywire. Help!
Right, well after another evening of playing I have sort of resolved this issue...
In one of the albums I was trying to upload I found a song with an error icon next to it (like the iTunes cloud icon but with an exclamation mark in the middle) hovering over the icon said there was an error in uploading this song or something to that effect.
I deleted that song from iTunes completely (whilst retaining the original file) and tried to match again. It worked and all the other songs and albums were matched correctly.
I haven't yet gone back to try to re-add it, I will in the near future and hopefully it will work then but for now my music collection (aside from that one song) is all present and correct.

I am receiving this error when syncing my ipod: iTunes could not copy "song name" to the iPod "name" because an unknown error occurred (-50). I am using iTunes version 10.6.3.25. Why?
Right click the filename that won't download and selsct 'Get Info'. Look at the file path, does it have a //?// in it? That is a problem with Amazon downloads that prevent iTunes from finding the file. Use 'Add Folder' to add the album to your library and try syncing it again

I am receiving the following error when trying to download iTunes 10.6.3 for Windows XP:

I have looked a several sites that have suggested several fixes, but nothing seems to work. I dont know what program I need to install so I can download iTunes; it never tells me that.

If applicable, disconnect any iPod or iOS device and close Microsoft Outlook.

Download the iTunes setup file and run it to install. Use an account with administrative rights. This can usually be achieved by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting Run as... or Run as Administrator. In some cases a combination of Shift or Ctrl keys may be required for the option to show, or it may not be necessary.
If you deleted iCloud and reinstalling iTunes doesn't automatically reinstall it visit iCloud Control Panel.
