Error when previewing a report on my machine
At the top of the MS Word document in the BI Publisher add-in is a menu marked 'Preview'.
This I thought would be useful, since it might give an idea of how a report will look once generated.
However if I click on any of the options I get an error:

Is there a way to avoid this error and instead see a preview of how the report will look?
In case some else has the same difficulty:
1) If you have access to MOS then its this document:
Reports fail with error Extension function error: Class not found 'com.siebel.xmlpublisher.reports.XSLFunctions' in 8.1.1.7FP [ID 1468197.1]
2) Otherwise I reccommend that you:
Copy everything from: C:\Siebel\8.1\Client_1\CLASSES to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\ext
3. Make sure that the Windows System Variable named 'PATH' has the path to the ' C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin' folder included.
4. Test the report.

Error when running a report in BPC NW
I am getting the following error when running a report for my application in BPC NW.
EVDRE encountered an error retrieving data from the Web Server (retrying in (X) seconds).
This error comes with this dialog option box to either continue or cancel retrying retrieving data. Retrying doesn't help either.
Any report I run (on any of my appsets), I get this error. I used the EVDRE function and also tried running a report using the template as the basis. But I get the error either way.
Does anyone know why this error is occurs or how to debug this issue. I saw some information about this in earlier threads but could not make much out of it.
Appreciate any assistance.Sanjay,
This is a very generic error...Couple of places to look for....
1)Reprocess the application (Modify application + Reassign SQL Index + Process Application)
2)optimizing the application sometimes helps (Full Optimize + Compress Database + Index defragmentation).
3)Create a "evdataserver_debug.txt" in user's private publication folder on server side to populate very detail level logging and check the log on client side EVDRE_LOG.txt for further peek into where things are getting messed up.
if evdataserver_debug.txt does not get populated on BPC 5.x...it is an issue with IIS authetication on Application server.
4)You have to check the event viewer into .NET server and also the BPC logs which can be found into
BPC\Logging for further details ..
Hope this helps..

We too are encountering this problem with reports migrated from 2005 to 2008. We are getting the rendering error only when trying to use the paging controls to navigate forward through the report. This is on SSRS 2008 R2 running SharePoint Integration. When
the result set is empty we get the tablix errors mentioned instead. The reports ran fine prior to migration to SSRS2008. -
Error when generating the report in Production Server
Hi,
I have created one infoset query in Development server of my client. It is working fine there. I had transported the request containg this query to Production server. But whenever I am trying to generate report using this query in Production server it is giving an error message
"Error when generating the report".
I am not getting what 's problem.
SamriddhiSamriddhi,
Genarally its not suggested to transport Queries. Should be able to create Queries directly Production. There might be diferences between your Development and Production versions.

Error when refreshing WEBI report with Universe Connection Type "SSO"
Hi Experts:
We are trying to refresh the Webi report in Infoview with Universe Connection set as "Use Single Sign On when refreshing the report at view time", so that we can leverage SAP OLAP authorization variable from Bex Query which the Universe is built on.
However got the error of "incomplete logon data" after all the configurations done following below blogs:
SNC Part 1
/people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2009/07/03/businessobjects-enterprise-and-client-side-snc-part-1-of-2
SNC Part 2
/people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2009/07/03/businessobjects-enterprise-and-client-side-snc-part-2-of-2
We already have Win AD SSO to SAP setup, and in BO CMC, Win AD user is mapped to SAP user ID.
The SNC settings are:
- AD Account: service.test.bobj (all lower-letters)
- 32-bit gsslib on the BO server, and 64 bit on the BW server side.
- SNC0: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
- SU01 --> BO_Service ; SNC: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
- Entitlement system tab --> username: BO_Service
SNC Name: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
- SNC settings tab:
SNC Lib: c:\winnt\gsskrb5.dll
Mutual Authentication settings: p:SAPServiceBP0 at DOMAIN
In CMC, the role can be imported if "RFC activated" option unchecked in SNC0.
I found a few threads on the same topic, but they are all not answered:
SNC Client side configuration error
SNC Configuration Error: Incomplete logon Data
Can you please provide details of the solution if you have impleted a same scenario successsfully, or any thoughts to help the investigation?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
JonathanHi Ingo,
Sorry for taking so long to reply, we are trying to set up server side trust and enable SSO; but we still couldn't success.
What we did is:
1. We followed installation guide chapter 6, generate certificate and PSE, etc. All looks good.
2. Then we still have the "incomplete logon data" error when refreshing webi report after logon using Windows AD user ID.
3. Then we trace the PFC connection, the log is as below. We checked several BO notes, e.g. 1500150, 1461247.. The part bothers us is that we even don't have URI displayed in the log when system trying to use SNC, and we couldn't get more info on this which make us very difficult to diagnosis.
Can you please help? Thanks a lot!

Hi All,
I am facing a peculiar problem while executing an infoset query.I have created 2 customized fields Compa-ratio and PIR in infotype 0008 in an infoset.I have coded in these additional fields.
When I execute a query using 1 of these customized fields the report is generated correctly. But when I put both the fields in the output the report shows an error "Error when generating the report (see long text)". The message# associated with this errAQ_AD_HOC221.
I have also checked the data types and the references. Nothing seems to be wrong here.
Does anybody has any clue about this ?
KajalHi Bernd,
I had a look at those notes. But the information provided did'nt prove to be helpful. I found out the problem. I was using the same local variable for both the fields in their code. This generated the error. This error is a very generic one and does'nt help in finding out what exactly is the problem.
I changed the other local variable and it started working. When I was using the same variable that time I did'nt forget to clear the values but the query still generated the error.
Anyways thanks a lot for the reply.

Crystal Reports XI R2 Javascript error when viewing web report
Post Author: msilka
CA Forum: General
I have an ASP web application that was working fine with XI but when I upgraded to XI R2 I received the following error when displaying a report in the report viewer.
Line: 461
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: my report URL
When I debug with a javascript debugger the line in question reads as
addOnloadFunction(reportViewerNamebobjInit);
I need to get the reports to run without this error.
Thank youThe only personal folders visible from under Admin panel are for users Administrator and Guest. I've tried to query CMS tables but these store entries not in plain text so I cannot identify entries connected to personal folders. I have also tried to do this via Query Repository tool but all returned entries were ok.
I have also noticed that when trying to load group from LDAP after it returns error "LDAP: Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder." entry for this group is created in CMS table. Also this group is then visible in admin Groups panel. No users are created with the group and when I'm trying to list users belonging to added group it returns "internal secLDAP security plug-in error" but without any other suggestion what went wrong. -

Memory Full error when using Main Report Preview in VStudio 2010
Framework 4.0.30319
VStudio 10.0.20.219.1
SAP Version- 13.0.2000.0
CR 2008 on local machine- 12.2.0.290
I don't get memory full error when I run the report with my locally installed cr 2008. If I go into my visual studio and do a main report preview I get memory full error.
I get this error running same report in cr 2008- MochiKit is undefined. An error has occurred in the script on this page. file:///c:/Program%20(x86)Business%20Objects/Common/4.0/Crystalreportviewers12/js/crviewer/html.js
I can get past that error and report works fine. I can take the rpt file in vs2010 and it runs from the aspx page with the viewer. But I ca't do a preview from the editing of the rpt file.
Any way to trouble shoot where the memory problem is when doing a preview? Makes it really hard to test other dlls when it does this. Are you a Developer or QA or end user? Have you discussed this with your Developer at all? We seem to keep going around in circles. Your Developer should know what he did and how to deploy your app and CR assemblies and what to use.
Subject line is VS 2010, CR for VS 2010 is the only version supported in VS 2010. CR 2008 doesn't have 64 bit runtime. therefore it's not an option, your WEB Servers app pool MUST run in 32 bit mode only if you are using CR 2008.
"If I install the 64 bit version of SAP CR. Should the assembly change in the aspx files? different version number?" Nothing in your app, just deploy the 64 bit runtime and set your app pool to run in 64 bit mode.
If you are using CR for VS 2010 then you can run your WEB server in 64 bit mode and use CR for VS 2010 64 redist files on your WEB server. Then all DB Drivers, Printers and anything else MUST be installed in 64 bit versions. This includes what ever dependencies your UFL has, they too must also support 64 bit platform.
NO Additional requirements to be done or used for 64 bit WEB applciations, just requires IIS App Pool to be run in 64 bit mode and all dependencies available in 64 bits. ODBC DSN is created using the 64 bit ODBC Administrator, Printers support 64 bit applications.
And your UFL and any of it's dependencies must be located in as well as GAC'd if it's required, once again check with your UFL developer:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64
I suggest you purchase a support case and work with one of our Rep's to sort this out.

Thanks,Did you try the "Validate" function from the Word Template Builder?
It helps find many of these issues. The only thing that makes it more difficult to use
is that it tells you onlythe line number in the RTF file.
So if you don't know which field causes the issue, you need to open the RTF file
in a text editor like notepad, got to the line number and look for some
regular text close to it to the error to find where the issue is in the word document.
Hope that helps,
Klaus -
Error when previewing reports with prompts
"Prompting failed with the following error message: 'Unexpected error.'.
Error source: Prompt.dll Error code: 0x80043800"
... This error occurs when I try to preview a report with parameters being prompted. The parameter fields are just simple text boxes. Error does not occur when parameters are set to null.
I'm running Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Version 11.5.11.1470 on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. Has anyone seen this error? If so how can I resolve it
Regards,
ScottHi,
Try this,
Title: Error: "List of Values failure"prompt.dll Error code: 0x8004380D"
Symptom
In Crystal Reports, reports using List of Values (LOV) based on a Business View are refreshed and after 5 minutes an error message appears:
Prompting failed with the following error message: "List of Values failure: fail to get values. [ Cause of error: CORBA_SystemException ].
Error source: prompt.dll Error code: 0x8004380D".
Cause
This error message appears because there is a firewall between Crystal Reports and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI that is preventing the LOV from bringing back the data.
Resolution
Turn off or disable the firewall.
Alternately, specify a CORBA port using an updated version of CRLOV.DLL that lets you choose one port for CORBA to use. Obtain the appropriate file by doing the following:
Download the file update from the Downloads area of our web site.
Open C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\java\crconfig.xml in a text editor.
In the <DataDriverCommon> section add <BOEOrbPort>n</BOEOrbPort> where n is the number of the desired inbound port to use for CORBA.
Enable that port on the firewall to accept inbound traffic (along with the other ones Crystal Reports uses).
The LOV reports run correctly.
Thanks,
Vinay. -
Error message when previewing RTF report
Using BI Publisher (10.1.3.3.0 Build 108) Building a simple template using the following XML file - shown is just a snippet of the total XML file.
<employee>
<employee_id>103</employee_id>
<first_name>Alexander</first_name>
<last_name>Hunold</last_name>
<salary>9000</salary>

Have built the following template in WORD 2003
<?for-each:Employee?>
first_name
salary

When preview in rtf only thing I am getting is an error window that pops up and simply displays the word Error with NO error message whatsoever!
Please let me know what is going on and how to use this 'tool'
Thanks - CaseyGentlemen - the problem has been found and resolved. Seems like the XML Data Source cannot contain a reference to a validating DTD. Once the following reference was removed AND I used employee instead of Employee in the template all worked.
<!DOCTYPE employees SYSTEM "employees.dtd">
I assume this is correct - not being able to contain a DTD reference? I will also, tomorrow (read that as probably Monday) be trying the same thing using XML Schema vaildation.
THANKS for the help - Casey
