Hi, PI experts.
When refreshing XI cache I get following error:
Error when reading HTTP destination: INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI.
Status of XI Runtime Cache is
Unable to refresh cache contents
Error during last attempt to refresh cache
When starting cache delta refresh I get an error OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED
HTTP-destination INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI works correct (gives an error 500)
In Cache Connectivity Test - Java IS and Adapter Engine are green and ABAP IS is yellow giving message Attempt to fetch cache data from Integration Directory not yet started or still in process

You please check the INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI in SM59.
Check the following fields:
Target host:host name of xi
Service No:xxxxx(ex:53000)
Path Prefix:/dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext
make sure the service no is not Java port.
Logon credentials:
User:XIISUSER

I have been going over many posts etc trying to figure out why this quit working. Basically everything was working fine, and I did a Integration Process Scenario and uploaded that, once that was complete I started getting cache errors that where affecting everything else already configured in XI.
I have tested in SM59 INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI and when I put in path
/dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext I get back a 200 response on connection test
and put in path /dir/cacheRefresh I get a 500 response which I assume both are fine,
I have also tested by the ping test in sicf using PIISUSER along with the url test of http://<host name>:<port>/dir/hmidiag/ext?method=info all was successful
So the error seems to come when I run sxi_cache
If I do a delta cache it comes up with the following error Prefix number: entry missing for system PIT client 300
If I do a full cache refresh it runs in the background (and while it runs all the other scenario's work) but after the full cache comes back it has Unable to refresh cache contents with the message of Error when reading HTTP destination: INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI.
Also once this error is checked all other scenerio's quite working again with the following message
XIServer:UPDATE:Error when reading HTTP destination: INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,
I don't know if this is the exactly case we have here... but in our PI DEV and PRD environments it does not happen. In our QAS environment this error occurs everytime we create/change some integration scenario object and activate it. Then, all outbound interfaces start with this error. To solve it we go for a full refresh, delete Adapter Engine cache and restart ICM.
We are trying for a long time to search why this happens only on QAS environment without success... But thanks good it does not happen in PRD

When backing up lightroom 4 catalog, get message "lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit" this occurs during optimization stage of backup

i upgraded from lightroom 4 to lightroom 5 and installed it on a separate hard drive. Initially had no problems util my computer crashed due to the failure of the drive on which Lightroom 5 was installed. Since having my computer rectified, i am unable to use lightroom 5 getting the message "lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit"
I can still use lightroom 4, however, i get the same message when i try to backup the catalog. This occurs during the optimisation phase of backup.
I suspect it is related to Lightroom 5 creating a catalog from the Lightroom 4 files and cannot now locate those files or that they have been corrupted.
Would appreciate any solutions / suggestions.

You need to delete your preview cache and have Lightroom rebuild it. Cache location can be found here.

Delete preview cache - that should solve the problem.
It's the .lrdata folder in with your catalog, named something like "My Catalog Previews.lrdata".
Delete entire .lrdata folder, making sure you get the one in the same folder as the catalog you're opening. Do not delete anything else, and if you have something like "My Catalog Smart Previews.lrdata" - that's not it.

When Lr comes up, consider initiating whole-catalog building of standard previews (Library -> Previews menu), lest you be "forever" greeted by temporarily gray thumbnails and "loupe loading" indicator in the future..

Hi! Every time, no matter if I've restarted or powered down, even if it's the only program running, it's the same error. I've checked for any updates for my laptop, made sure it's been defragged weekly, checked system performance... all to no avail. Today is the first issue I've had with LR5.4, and I've been trying to correct it since this morning. I'd be grateful for any and all help. Thank you!

I've been using LR since 1.0 and never encountered this issue until today. The above procedure for creating a new Preview Cache folder and preview files should fix the issue.

Error when reading the access data for the Adapter Engine

We are getting the following error in XI. It started on Jan 22 and resolved on Jan 23 automatically. Nothing has been changed and we don't able to understand how problem started and how it resolved:

Error when reading Exchange Profile

Hello everyone,
I have a simple file=>XI=>file scenario.
The sender file adapter picks up the file fine.
File is put-to and retreived-by the queue just fine.
I then get the error "Error when reading Exchange Profile for system .. and client ..."
SLDCHECK gives error "Connection to SLD does not work"
LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI have been test and work fine.
Any ideas?

Error when reading the DDIC-data for table

We upgraded from DMIS 2011 SP04 to SP07. We are in development system.
To test initial load, we stopped replication for an existing table and then started replication for the same table.
Mass transfer id connects ECC system to BW on HANA system.
Replication errored with the following message:
Error when reading the ddic-data for table MARD (RFC destination DWACLNT010).
Looking for your guidance.

Activating DemoContent: Error when reading data target

I'm trying to activate the SAP Demo cube Purchasing Data (0D_PU_C01). The Grouping Mode is set to In Dataflow Before and Afterwards.
When I simulate installation, I get the error message Error when reading data target 0D_PU_C01 (Message no. RSAU126) in the logs (although in the Collection Area the Simulation Result column is marked with a green check).
I could find only 2 notes related to this error in the SAP Service Marketplace. SAP note nr. 540873 is about the BW indexing job. Note nr. 587796 (Error in after import of update rules) seams more appropriate, however not thoroughly right. In fact it refers to BW 3.1 Content or BW 3.0B.
My system version instead is:
BI_CONT 353
SAP_BW 350
The very same problem occurs when I try to activate the SAP Demo Sales and Distribution.
Any suggestion?

1. I can't find the InfoObjects (e.g. 0D_GR_QTY, 0D_PLANT, 0D_MATERIAL, etc.) anywhere in Modeling -> InfoObjects, even if:
a) I can find them under the InfoSource tree of the SAP Demo Application Component
b) they appear activated in Business Content
What's going on?
2. The newly activated Purchasing Data cube has been added to the Unassigned Nodes InfoArea, and not to a newly created SAP Demo Purchasing (0D_MMPUR) InfoArea, similarly to the structure I saw when collecting the InfoProvider in Business Content. Is this the normal behaviour?
3. No DataSource has been assigned to any of the InfoSources. I read at:

that the SAP Demo Source System will be used. What I can't understand is if I need to manually create and select this Source System. I activated (simulated) InfoCube 0RPA_C01 (Store/Artikel/day) in BCT by grouping (data flow before) and got the errors:

Object Update Rules AOVQMV1HXG826N2K14P5TPOYA: Installation of the Content Version; Message no. RSO425
Transfer update rules IC: 0DBDUNS_NUM / IS: 0DBDUNS_APPENDIX_ATTR_1; Message no. RSAU180
- No update specified for key figures; message no: RSAU232
do anyone knows this problem in BW Release 3.5?

You need to delete the preview cache. LR will automatically create new previews.
Read here and here are the locations. Don't touch the *.lrcat file.

A power outage caused my Lightroom 5.2 to shut down without closing. When I powered back up and opened lightroom it gives me an error "Lightroom encountered and error when reading from it preview cache and needs to quit" and then it says it will try to fix it the next time it opens. I have opened it 20 times and it is not fixing it. I removed the program completely and upgraded to 5.5 AND it is still giving me the same error. Is my catalog corrupt or something? I had it set to automatically load the most currently used catalog, so it is not allowing me to open or start a new catalog either. HELP!!!

Lightroom encountered an error when reading it's preview cache

I been getting this error for over 2-3 months and thought it would go away with the new version releases, i tried all the standard fixes,deleting the catalog,compacting etc. even moving it to new folder, reinstalled the software twice. The whole nine yards. IMHO, there's a problem with the software, it may be uique with differetent type of machine setup or a corrupt file in the in the catalog and the compacting doesn't fix it.
The error always happens while in the develope and crashed, has to leave the software (sometimes it just hangs the software and you have to kill the task manually). You have at least 10-15 seconds before going back in, otherwise it will still crash, a thread is still occuring from the orginal crash and still completing it's task. That's the error, annoying as heck.
My only hoping is a new version of LR comes out soon (4.0) and it goes away, otherwise, I'm going to find something else-- driving me crazy, I spend about 10-15% of my time each week getting out and back in to make go away, then can go for a day(s) sometimes and no problems. I tried recreating the problem on specific photos where I think it might be corrupt, that doesn't give any clue, there is no pattern to this at all, it happens randomly on new photos and old photos, yet i can go back to those photos again and no problems.
Any NEW ideas would be appreciated (no compact, no new catalogs, new installs, turn off various options cache preview etc. move to new folder and more.....done that etc.).

I don't know what else to tell you, i wish I had more. This is all over the internet, I followed pretty much all the solutions, delete the catalog or delete the preview folders (tried both). Tinker with the cachee preferences.   Most people kill the preview folders and the catlog gets recreated and there problem is resovled, doesn't work for me.
No cloning, totally two different catalogs (not networked etc.) a good question though.
When I am refering to catalog and cache, I strictly talking about LR only, nothing outside of that or in the operating system, just LR files only, here they are:
I have a   LR catalog folder called--->   C:\Users\Mark\Documents\LightRoom Catalog\LR_Catalog
you have another folder called: LR_Catalog Previews.lrdata   (with many subfolders underneath at)
and I have LR catalog filein C:\Users\Mark\Documents\LightRoom Catalog\LR_Catalog
LR_Catalog.LRCAT
That's it, a file and a folder with many sub-folders. I'll get a screen print with error next, but it's basically what I said earlier in the beginning, you can be in develope or even the library, and error occurs in a message box, you hit ok and the application exits. On average it can happen 6-7 times with an hour and sometimes not at all, working with same the photos. Sometimes it can happen within mintues, sometimes not at all for over 2 hours. There is no specific pattern to it.
