Error when viewing report Only when records returned.

We have a strange situtation in that when we view a particular report it errors out when viewing ONLY when there are records returned. To make matters worse this report takes several parameters, and only on one parameter does this occur. That is say we have param1, param2, param3, param4. if we fill in parameters and param3 has a value of "value1" and it returns results we are fine. The same happens for our second value ("value2"), however when we make param3's value "Value2" and it returns results the report throws an error 73. The stack trace is below. Any ideas on this one? It is really throwing me since it is only for one value of the parameter that we get the error.

That's a strange issue.
Now that you've mentioned stored procs - does the stored proc handle params set to null?
I've seen issues where on verify Crystal sends null param values to stored proc, and if the stored proc doesn't handle them (or return a consistent schema), errors out.
Above in case you'd like to revisit the issue or if you encounter the issue again.

p_rule => rc       --> What exactly in rc? It's just a counter. You are using this (SELECT EMPNO,ENAME,SAL FROM emp where deptno =v_deptno)query but not using a single value returned from this query in the code.

Date based report with multiple record return

Hello all,
Here is the situation. Running MAS 4.1 and using Crystal 10 for doing reports. I currently have a custom report that shows all invoices that have been paid for any given date range. This works great except when there is a "credit Memo" against an invoice. The way I'm getting all paid invoices is via a formula. The record set I have to pull against lists the invoice amount, date paid and amount paid. Simple calculation on the returned record will tell you if it has been paid off or not. The problem I'm having is those invoice records that also have a credit memo against them. The credit memo entries do not have a "paid date" and since that is my main selection criteria those records will not pull into my report, and therefor those invoices will not be showed as being paid. What I need to happen (and I don't know how to do it). Is for the report to run based upon the date range specified, and pull in related records even if there is no "paid date" on them. The way MAS stores it's invoice/credit memo records is the same for both. The main difference is that invoice has the "type" field set to "IN" and a credit memo has the "type" field set to "CM". So the actual "invoice number" is the same for both kinds of records. I hope my request makes sense, if not let me know and I will try to explain what does not make sense. Thanks in advance. Bill

You've been very helpful, but I guess I'm just not explaining myself that well. The Credit Memo's throw things off because they do not contain a "Paid Date" value. That field in the record is blank. Since it is blank the report query ignores them. Therefore when the report query returns all records that have a "Paid date" range of "x to y" they are never returned. This is a problem whenever a credit memo exists for an invoice because the "invoice total" never changes. So when a customer pays on their account for a particular invoice, they only pay what is due which is the "invoice total" minus any "credit" from the "Credit Memo". So when my A/R person receives payment they are showing the invoice paid in full because MAS automatically includes all invoices and credit memo's. My report does not because there is no data in the "Paid Date" field of the record for Credit Memos.
I've been doing alot research in trying to resolve this "exception" to my report. I think I may be on to something, but my knowledge of arrays is extremely limited. My resolution involves populating an array with the "invoice numbers" that are returned from the initial query from the supplied date range. Then using the "invoice numbers" from the array have it then populate my details section of the report with all of "invoice records" both the actual invoice record and any "credit memo" records. I can then group the records returned based upon the "invoice number". then within that grouping I can performing my calculations to show whether or not the invoice has been paid in full. What do you think? I've been able to populate an array with the invoice numbers based upon my date search range, but I have yet to figure out how to take that information and perform another lookup to pull in the rest of the data I need. Do you have any ideas?

then check in content administration whether that particular iview is available or not?

Couple of things you can check to isolate the prb
Run the detail report individually w/o navigating from the summary report
Also make sure if your summary report runs well as such.
As long as they run indivdually and you not even passing filters ideally it shouldnt cause any issue... Does it generate a SQL?

How to e-mail/not e-mail a scheduled report based on records returned

Hi Everyone,
Is there a way that there can be logic performed on a report that has been scheduled and ran before it gets sent via e-mail to the end users? We have scheduled reports that often end up with 0 records returned but users still get the e-mail with the report that contains 0 records. I would like to e-mail the reports only if the records returned is greater than 0.
We are on v3.1 so if there is a solution for 3.1 that would be great. If this capability exists in 4.0, that information would be very helpful as well.

Apply an event on your report.
First go to Cmc, create an event based for example on a file that should be created in certain route if the query won't return 0 rows.
Then apply this event in your report Schedule option Event.

Method to not produce report if no records returned?

We have reports automatically emailing clients on a daily basis. If a report query does not return any records, can I tell BOXI not to email the report?
Clients want a report of any new incidents reported daily. If no new incidents occur on a given day, I would ideally not like the report to run, or at least, to not send an email.
How can I do this?

Hi Maria,
You would create the events prior to the report generation i.e. the report is generated only if the event is triggered.
Use SSIS, DTS or xp_cmdshell to create the necessary trigger files.
Basically what you want to do is determine criteria of what must trigger your report i.e. count(*) > 0 then if the criteria returns true, create a file on the file system, if it returns false then do not create the file.
The file needs to be created on the file system.
On the CMS create a new file based event
Point the event to the UNC path where the file will be created.
Ensure the SIA has access rights to the UNC path.

There will of course be a performance overhead for the above as you will effectively be running your procedure twice - once to determine the number of rows followed by a second time to run the report.

No records retrieved error when records are there?

This is frm-40350 No records retrieved and it is happening on the detail block even though records are retrieved.
I am currently testing an enhancement to an existing form that can be called by other forms. I noticed that when calling this form from another, when it is populated with global values the cursor then goes to the detail block and I get the error message at usual place at bottom of screen. There is a new form instance procedure that puts cursor in details block as below. I think this is because the detail block records are only meant to be changed so if a user goes in to that form it puts cursor in the details block.

Basically its not an error message....Its just informative message....according to this your trying to fetch some data from the table that is not there or your search query retrives no rows from the table.....
If this message is not causing any problem to your operation then you can supress this message by writing the following code in pre-form,
:SYSTEM.MESSAGE_LEVEL := 5;
:SYSTEM.SUPPRESS_WORKING := 'TRUE';
and write the following code in post-form
:SYSTEM.MESSAGE_LEVEL := 0;
:SYSTEM.SUPPRESS_WORKING := 'FALSE';

I/O error when recording cd

OK I know how that sounds... but bear with me. When trying (twice) to create an audio cd (with K3b), the same thing happened: I/O wait grew steadily bigger, until the system became completely unresponsive, and had to be hard-rebooted. In console, messages where being thrown saying Bad I/O on device sda. /var/log/errors.log shows:

(I'm not sure this indicates anything wrong, but it's the only thing that seemed related to the problem at hand...)
Does this make any sense? Could it be related to the update udev/systemd is currently undergoing?

Are the movies being exported larger than 4GB? If so, that would be the problem. Premiere/Mac apparently (reported by others in the Adobe forums) cannot successfully export videos larger than 4GB, at least not with QuickTime 7 (not sure whether the problem also appears with QT6). The workaround is to cut your movie into <4GB segments, export them, and then reassemble them in QuickTime Player Pro or another video editing app.

Error when recording from Siebel 7.5

I have been attempting to record step/actions from Siebel 7.5 using OnDemand Developer 9.1.0 (Build 9.1.0.3230), with IE version 6.0.2900.5512. It was working fine but then it forced my PC to shut down and restart. Since then everytime I attempt to record in Siebel I receive an *"Event Viewer"* message box with the following message:
*"An invalid argument was encountered."*
When going to the *OnDemand Log Viewer - [Event Log]* there is a long list repeating the same error over and over. The error message is as follows:
*"07/13/10 12:39:55 SIEBEL.WAP Version check - Trying to record unsupported SIEBEL version [16285]"*
Does anyone know what can be done to resolve this issue? I have searched the threads but did not find any that corresponded to this issue.

Error when recording f4v-files: Error from libmp4.so: No Space left in the stsd box.

We are recording live streams on a Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5.3 r824. In general, everything works fine, so there are no appliaction-issues. But sometimes (it is not reproducable yet) a stream stops recording without any notice or event in the application. All we can find is such a message in our core.log:

You're running out of sample description spaces in your recording of an F4V - this is presumably because you're splicing together different H264 encodings or other types of media. No matter, you can configure this value up from it's default of 10 - check out Server.xml in your configs and you'll find this section

You'll want to increase the appropriate SampleDescription Max. Not sure which it is yet (audio/video/data) but in theory you can increase any or all as needed. These boxes are set in size when you start your recording so all recordings will bloat very slightly to cover this case that most users don't run into, but feel free to set the SampleDescription limits higher and you should stop seeing this.

Error when reverse return delivery

Hi,
Our plant is with warehouse management.
I created a return delivery. After post goods receipt, transfer request was created automatically. Then I created and
confirmed the transfer order with reference to transfer request. Now I realized I
shouldn't do the post goods receipt, so I used tcode VL09 to reverse
the delivery, but I received the error message"Storage bin 013
904 0000000000 does not exist (check your entry)" and cannot do the
reverse. I checked in LS26, the material hasn't been in storage type
904 because transfer order was confirmed. How can I reverse the return
delivery?

Hi,
We are using Bulk storage with SU Management.
SUppose, 10 storage units are picked and delivered.
Then, delivery is cancelled using VL09.
When I tried to do Return to stock using LT0G, first 9 items getting locked except last one. So, Im unable to select those 9 items and reverse it.
SAP India suggested me to create TO manually using LT01. Once we create & confirm TO to move the stock from 916 SType to same source bins, the delievry has to be open for picking again. But, teh status remains WM picking complete.
So, unable to do picking agaon for teh same delievry.
Please suggest me some solution as we are close to Go-Live in couple of days.

Error when recording measurements in IFCU

Hi
when I enter fuel reading and KM reading in IFCU i get the error "You have not recorded a primary consumption" however i have eneterd a reading in for fuel .
please can anyone assist.

Exposure control errors when recording videos with...

I noticed that when I record videos, the exposure sometimes is not adjusted properly. If lighting conditions change, exposure remains at the same level, and records became over or underexposed. This is especially noticeable outdoors.
I have a few minutes long sample recording where the recording starts normally, then as light conditions change, (I slowly move from a shady area to a lit area) exposure gradually degrades to a point where most of the recording "burns out" due to extreme overexposure ( about 80% of the picture is white).
What confuses me is when I tried to reproduce this problem (albeit it different lighting conditions), exposure control worked pretty good.
I wonder if these exposure problems are due to a bug, hardware problem or a device limitation.
Do you have any tips to get better recordings with the phone?
