Error while dowloading ALV output

Hi All,
When am trying to download the ALV output to a spreadsheet it is giving an information message 'Filter criteria, sorting, totals and subtotals are not taken into account' and the followed by the message 'Export of a list object was terminated (internal error)'.This is occuring when the ALV does not contain any data otherwise it donload fine.In other standard report even if the ALV doesnt have data it downloads empty data to excel.what could be wrong?

Hi rakesh,
You can put one condition to check the final internal table consists any data or not. If that table is not initial then display the output otherwise just display a message 'Data not found'.
I think this is the solution .
IF NOT T_FINAL[] IS INITIAL.
* Fill field catalog table
    PERFORM FILL_FIELDCATALOG.
* Fill Layout options
    PERFORM FILL_LAYOUT.
    CALL SCREEN 0100.

Check whether you filled fieldcatalog correctly or not.

What could be the issue ?

what command did you execute?
does it work from the second node?
did you try rebooting the node?
did you check clusterware services? some of the processess may have not started properly or died ...
has it worked before ? or its a new installation ?

Error while downloading ALV grid o/p list into local file

Hello friends,
   I have developed an ALV report and desplaying it using
'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, function module .While downloading the output list into excel format I am geeting an error "The current statement only supports character-type data objects.
Error Analysis-
In statement
   "STRLEN( obj )..."
the argument "obj" can only take a character-type data object.
In this case, the operand "obj" has the non-character type "P".
I have set the import parameter i_save values as 'A'
But still not able to download and facing the same error.
Please help me out ....

Getting ERROR when downloading alv output to Excel

I get a error message when I try to use the standard funtionality to download the alv output to excel.
The current statement only supports character-type data objects.
What happened?
The current ABAP/4 program "SAPLKKBL " had to be terminated because
one of the statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP/4 program.

Hi srikanth,
This error comes because the values present in any one of the displayed coloums containing special character like * present before or after the number.... i.e instead of 4 ...**4.
While displaying in the screen it is of no problem. since both *4 are converted into char format (internally) and gets displayed.
But while you download the same throu the EXCEL functionality SAP will intenally convert the same into NUMERIC format. Since 4 is number.
So in that case *4 will cause dump.
*So find out the place in which the value appearing like this *4 and try to correct it.
*Surely it is of Field LENGTH problem. Try to increase the length of the field 4.
It Should WORK.!!!.. else post ur query here.

Error while exporting ALV to excel?

Hi Gurus,
I'm stuck at a weird error.
For a particular Z report, when I'm exporting ALV report through Menu List->Export->Spreadsheet, and then selecting "Star Office 8 Calc / OpenOffice.orf 2.0 Calc", what is happening is that, sometimes the ALV downloads, sometimes it gives a dump (INTERNAL_ERROR, i've attached the short dump) and sometimes it gives an error while opening the downloaded excel.
This error comes in OpenOffice, but I'm also unable to open the file in MS Excel.
I'm using REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE for preparing fieldcatalog. Earlier the fieldcatalog was prepared manually, but still the error was coming.
Any suggestions please?

it is visible in your message that error occurs at row 2 and column 6290106.
If you check in the below link, the limit of columns is Openoffice 2.0 is 256.

So I guess there is some problem during the export to Openoffice 2.0.
Might be there is some delimiter problem which leads to increase in column size.
Please check from this point of view.

Run-time error while executing alv grid report

Hi everyone
I m trying to run a alv grid report it is giving a run time error while executing the statement CALL METHOD V_ALV->SET_TOOLBAR_INTERACTIVE.
Actually i added 2 buttons in the toolbar.after that when i execute the report i m getting errors.

An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)

Hi Dinesh,
Seems you have not initialised ( Instantiated in OO ) the object and / or the parent container.
Check if you have create object for both the parent as well as the alv object.
So when you instatntiate the object of ALV you pass the object ( instantiated before hand ) in the parent container position.
Also you would have to register the events to the object using method. Then only the buttons will finction.
eg :
IF G_CUSTOM_CONTAINER IS INITIAL.
    CREATE OBJECT CUSTOM_CONTAINER_1
           EXPORTING CONTAINER_NAME = CONTAINER_1.
    CREATE OBJECT GRID1
           EXPORTING I_PARENT = CUSTOM_CONTAINER_1.

This information initial value is (maybe) stored in Windows Register (register.exe) at Software\SAP\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend Server\Filetransfer -> PathDownload, you can read it thru class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES method GET_UPLOAD_DOWNLOAD_PATH and update it thru method REGISTRY_SET_VALUE. (Else there may be some parameter ID to force data, but I'm no longer sure)

A cyclic job runs, which processes the messages seen in the SOST queue.
Are you sure it's not the frequency of the cyclic job, rather than the
number of messages in the queue, that you are observing? In messages
that are queued and before the cyclic job runs, "wait for comm. service"
is the normal status.
If you mean that there are always 4 items queued in SOST regardless of
the cyclic send job, then I have no ideas. I would have thought there
was no way to do that.
when the send job runs it just never
picks them up & sends them, while it picks up many others. The send job
is somehow blind to these; no error message occurs. In this case, I
'delete' them from the queue (in SOST) and then 'undelete' (drop down
menu -> /Go to /Deleted Items) them and then re-queue them. THEN they
actually get picked up & sent when the next cyclic send job executes.

I am having an error occuring while i am printing my alv report and it is going to short dump. But i am getting the out put.
The error message is

For the client system there is a customization report with output of html format. it can't display all with the error message

I am getting Window SALV_WD_TABLE does not exist within component SALV_WD_TABLE error.
I have done the mapping .
I have reffered to this document which is very useful

yes, you will face the same problem as its still looking for the path of the swf.
you need to have the SWF on specific location which is accessable by the Parent SWF
usually web page or something which is accessable for all.

Run time error while printing ALV report

Hi,
At the time of printing a report output we get a dump GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED.
The printer used here is LOCL.
The length of the report increases dynamically according to no. of months given in range.
In report , there are 3 static columns & no. of columns increases by 2 for each month. System is printing the report for 1 month ie. (3+2) columns . but if no. of months increased to 2 ..... no. of columns also increases by 2.... in this case system is giving dump.
Please help.

2. check if you want to use colours at calling the ALV.. but you don´t fill the deep structure for the colours...

Thank you for the link.
The ADSUSER was not created in the system. This is now created. A password is assigned to it and that password would be entered also in Visual Admin.
I hope this would solve the problem.
Are there any other other users, that are needed apart from this? or any additional steps?
