Hi,
I am using FTP Adpater to read files and archive in local folders.
But i got the following errors when i deployed the process:

Hi James,
We have upgraded to 10.1.3.4. but still we could not read the file. the problem is, it could not read the file names contains with UTF-8 characters.

Error while reading file entries from the database

Hi there,
We are running a instance of xmii 12 in a VM (VMware) and after somebody shutdown the host machine without shutting down the VM (great idea isn't it?) we keep getting this message when trying to access xMII:
"Application cannot be started.
Details: com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.ExceptionInfo: Error while reading file entries from the database."
Any clue? Any suggestion on how we can recover from that?

Well thanks for the hint. Actually, the DB was up but corrupted. I managed to solve the bug by re-deploying xMII (using the SDM tool) which kept all my data but redeployed both the config db of (x)mii and the class files.

Let's start with the basics...
1) You state that you are getting an error. What error do you get? Is this an Oracle error (i.e. ORA-xxxxx)? If so, please include the error number and the error message as well as the triggering statement. Or is the problem that rows are getting written to the reject file and errors are being written to the log file? If so, what record(s) are being rejected and what are the reasons given in the log file? Or perhaps the problem is something else?
2) You state that you are quite sure that the problem relates to the hilighted code. What makes you quite sure of this?

Problem while reading multiple files through FTP Adapter

Hi,
We have a requirement to read the excel files placed in an FTP Location and as there is no Adapter to read Excel file
we are using FTP Adapter and reading the Header values of the file(name of the
file) and we are paasing as input to the Java code which will read the data nd insert into the Database.
If we place above 20 files it was reading only some files and some were left and if we delete the files and place the unread files again some files are read and if we do the same procedure then all the files were read.
Any help regaring this appreciated.

Are you doing anything complex for your polling, e.g. Files that must be n time old.
Can you post the WSDL so I can see the polling configuration. I only need to see the adapter configuration, not the whole file.

I am trying to read all the file names within a directory, however I get the below error while running the code.

Getting error while reading file from /data/interface

while i am executing the job MPU* in ECC it write error file in /data/interface/sidclntxxx/IN/MPU742. now for the tcode ZMM_MPU_ANALYSIS it ask that error file, it is reflecting "error reading log file /data/interface...". now i am not getting the email also that supposed to get. please help

is that file accessible on the operating system? Is the filesystem mounted?
Z-transaction codes are customer developments, since nobody here knows, what this program does I suggest you contact the developer of that transaction.

While doing the manual steps given in the attachment; I am getting following error.

d) Enter 'Form' as 'HR_INTAXF162006'.
e) Goto menu bar and select the 'Utilities' option and select 'Uploading form' from menu.
f) Select the file, downloaded in the step u2018bu2019 (SFPF_HR_INTAXF162006_600.XML) from the local
file system.
g) Save the form and activate the same.

Please check the note 1580196 GTS: Error occurred when uploading file
(unknown file format).
The manual steps related to SFP transaction need to be performed if your are running the form 16 in pdf format.
Since ADS was not configured in our system; we end up using the option of running form 16 in SAP Script.
Changes related to SFP transaction need not be perfored in case you are running the form in SAP Script format as these are pdf specific changes.

Dynamic name for File through FTP Adapter

I am working on FTP Put and I have a requirement where in I have to generate the file with dynamic content in its name.I should actually embed a Purchase Order number in that file name follwed by a sequence number.I dont need any time stamp.Should I create a variable for this?

you have to enable the adapter specific parameter --> file name in both the sender and the receiver CC to get the input file name as output file name.

but in foreground i can able to execute it.can anybody help me out.

hi Sudha,
I think the program tries to read from presentation server (with GUI_UPLOAD or something similary), which is not possible in background (because in background there is no presentation server).

Reading file from FTPs

I have to read from different locations(FTP Servers) if there are any new files I have to transform those to my ftp, If I place a new file in my ftp it has to go to the other ftps.
Can i achieve this with a single ESB service?
I believe I can do it using two ESB services.
Can I read .xls files using FTP adapter and transform them to XML??
Any suggestions please, it is very urgent

Define an ESB service that:
- read file with FTP adapter in ESB
- From your services it writes the file to the other FTP location.
Create the services for all ftp location to want to touch.

Error while reading wsdl file

I created and deployed a BPEL process with a JMS adapter and DB adapter.
I have tested this and it works fine.
After a few days, I try to open the project and the BPEL process, and click on the DB
adapter and it throws an exception on the designer :
"Error while reading wsdl file ... (wsdl file name) NULL Exception"
This is hard to debug as the exception does not provide any info, NULL.
This has happened several times for my project. The next time the JMS adapter hit the
same exception while opening on designer. This one I notice happened after I imported
a new schema file (xsd) into the BPEL process.
Only way around that I have for this currently is to delete and recreate the adapters, which as time
consuming as I have to re-create and re-assign a lot of the activities.
Has anyone encountered this and is there a way to fix this without deleting/recreating the adapters ?

It looks like the adapter engine is not able to register him self on SLD, you have to check in the SLD the "Exchange Infrastructure" domain, you have to verify restarting the J2EE the adapter engine update the entries in the SLD related to the specific XI Domain.
Launch Visual Administrator >> Server >> Services >> SAP AF CPA Cache
Enter the appropriate values for:
SLD.selfregistration.hostname (Use fully qualified hostname)
SLD.selfregistration.httpPort
SLD.selfregistration.httpsPort
