Error with Mapping Lookup API using JDBC

All,
I have an interface that uses a JDBC lookup user defined function.  Occassionally we get the following message:
<i>Problem when calling an adapter by using communication channel myJDBCLookup (Party: , Service: myJDBCdbase, Object ID: 0cdb888150ee36638cbfb100ff2e7161) XI AF API call failed. Module exception: 'Error ACK handling failed: java.lang.NullPointerException'. Cause Exception: (No information available)</i>
The only way I can duplicate this error is if I deactivate the myJDBCLookup communication channel and re-run the interface.  In this case I get the same exact error.  I know the commchannels were active when I ran and got the errors.  Typically what I do is just restart the erred message and it runs fine.
I'm thinking I may be running into a timeout problem on the Oracle end of my call and XI is "timing out" or something like that.
My questions are:
1)  whether or not XI has some timeout setting that I could increase that would hopefully mitigate this issue (I'm not an XI admin)?
2) would using a different Conflict Resolution (JDBC adapter config) or Number of Retries of Database Transaction on SQL error (JDBC Advanced adapter config) setting help?
3) Is there something altogether different I should be looking at?

Hi,
This blog may help u on to optimize the lookup-

  • Character translation error in Mapping Lookup API (RFC)

    Dear all,
    I am new to XI and got a question concerning XI Mapping Lookup API - I send an RFC Request, which comes back as RFC Response(XML), that I fill in a String to map on.
    My problem is, characters such as "Ä,ä,Ü,ß" and so on come back pretty weird and I also got a lot of quotes in my String. Could somebody please give me a hint how to move on with this..
    thanx in advance
    P.S. Is it usefull to handle this problem using the DOM Parser instead holding the response in a string?
    Info: called system is R/3 4.6b, XI runs on 6.4 SR 16

    Dear all - thanks for your very fast help but I still have problem with the wrong character...
    @Michal - Using this coding (the easiest way, I found from the WebLog) to convert the Payload type to String, delivers the result I have  shown at the end,  so could you give me please some approach how to handle this
                   Payload resultOfCall = accessor.call(payload);
                   InputStream in = resultOfCall.getContent();
                   out = new ByteArrayOutputStream(1024);
                   byte[] buffer = new byte[1024];
                   for (int read = in.read(buffer); read > 0; read = in.read(buffer)) {
                        out.write(buffer, 0, read);
                   content = out.toString();
                   return content;

  • Error with Asynchronous RFC call to JDBC

    Hi all,
    We are working on a scenarion where in we have to make an asynchronous RFC call to JDBC.
    We have configured RFC sender adapter following this weblog
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
    We have created data types only for the database as RFC does not require any data types.
    And also we have created message types,message interfaces accordingly.
    In Message Mappping,we mapped the export parameters of RFC to the access fields of database message type.
    Also we have created sender agreement,interface determinations etc.... accordingly
    And for sending RFC request asynchronously we followed this weblog
    /people/swaroopa.vishwanath/blog/2006/12/28/send-rfc-to-sap-xi-150-asynchronous
    Once done with all the above steps we could able to trigger the RFC call and caught with the following errors in SXMB_MONI and no errors are seen in communication monitoring

    Can any one please let me know what other configurations do we need to do?
    I did not map the RFC import parameters,do we need to do that
    Any help in this regard is really appreciated
    Rgds,
    Santhosh

    Hi,
    I am really happy to hear that the problem with mapping is resolved.
    Now as per your requirment It needs to be aynschornous RFC--> XI ---> JDBC call. In XI you should map the RFC Export parameters to the traget structure of JDBC.
    then the question is to how to trigger the RFC Function Module in R/3 to XI.
    Plesae follow below steps to trigger it from SAP R/3
    1. Create a RFC in the R/3 system
    2. Configure the SM59 and Sender Communication channle as given in the Michal's blog. Also test if it is succesful.
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
    3. Import the RFC in XI
    4. Do the mapping to the target strucutre
    5. Configure the JDBC receiver adapter
    /people/sameer.shadab/blog/2005/10/24/connecting-to-ms-access-using-receiver-jdbc-adapter-without-dsn
    6. You can trigger the RFC from R/3 sytem by using
    Async Call - in ABAP program use below syntax to call RFC. Here the export parameters will be passed on to XI which further have mapped to JDBC.
    CALL Function "RFC Name" IN BACKGROUND TASK destination <sm59 destination>
    COMMIT WORK.
    Sync Call
    CALL Function "RFC Name" destination <sm59 destination>
    Thanks

  • Mapping lookups - API (SP13)  :-)

    Hi,
    just want to let you know that there's some "practical info" about mapping looups on SDN
    RFC API (an article which I posted a week ago)
    https://sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/801376c6-0501-0010-af8c-cb69aa29941c
    together with siva's weblog (jdbc lookup) we have
    quite nice collection for a start
    /people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/08/23/lookup146s-in-xi-made-simpler
    might be useful for "mapping lookups starters"
    Regards,
    michal

    Hi Michal,
    I found your article about the Lookup API and it was a really helpful start into the topic. However, the way the XML is composed in the function didn' please me at all.
    So I took your approach forward and added some generic RFC-XML construction for certain situations (it's actually intended for simple mapping lookup RFCs that have a 'flat' structure and the result containing just one element - which I assume will the most common case) and also some generic retrieval of the result value and made it a function in a Java Archive that can easily be called from a user-defined function, passing the relevant information as parameters - getting rid of the hard-coded stuff.
    Now I thought it might be a good idea to share this function as addition to your article, but I'm not sure about the best way to do so - what would you suggest?
    regards,
    Peter

  • Error while invoking custom API using Database Adapter

    Hi,
    I've a requirement where in I need to fetch the data returned by a recordtype of a custom API. I've implemented this by invoking the custom API using Database Adapter. I'm facing a problem while performing this.
    The custom API holds the signature as:
    PROCEDURE EMP_DET
    Argument Name Type      In/Out Default?
    P_DEPTNO NUMBER IN
    L_LINE_TBL TABLE OF RECORD OUT
    I've a schema with which it needs to be validated. It looks like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
    <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:po="http://www.mycompany.com/ns/sales" targetNamespace="http://www.mycompany.com/ns/sales" elementFormDefault="qualified">

    </complexType>
    </element>
    </schema>
    I did a transformation to the above stated Emp.xsd with the xsd created for my custom API by the BPEL process. I could create the process and deploy successfully, but while invoking I get the following error. (I'm using BPM 10.1.3.1 with JDev 10.1.3.1)

    Yes, you can do that. For testing purposes you can also create simple files (with mkfile) and add these to ASM. That way you could also experiment with deleting files and see what happens in ASM

  • Login error with correct u/p using Oracle Application Server / BPEL

    Hello,
    We are using Oracle 11g and BPEL 10.1.3.4. We had everything working fine until earlier this week. We were receiving an exception when accessing the database from our BPEL process.
    Unable to establish connection to "iCareConnectionPool". Error message: Exception occurred testing connection. Exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied.
    I went into the Application Server control and tested the data source and connection pool and they both failed with the login error. The userid and password being submitted is correct. I checked the data-source.xml file and the id/password looked good. Here are the steps I performed.
    On BPEL server:
    1)     Deleted connection pool iCareConnectionPool, data source, iCareDataSource, and removed /eis/db/iCareDataSource from the DBAdapter.
    2)     Created new connection pool – iCareConnectionPool using jdbc:oracle:oci:@//<host>:1521/ORCL with userid IDS
    3)     The connection pool test was successful. Clicked finish to create connection pool
    4)     From the JDBC resources screen, I tested the connection pool and it failed with invalid logon error.
    5)     Modified connection pool to use IDS2 and it worked.
    6)     Modified connection pool to IDS and it failed.
    7)     Modified connection pool to jimc and it worked.
    On Database:
    1)     Created new schema/user ICAREIDS
    2)     Connected using SQL Developer and I could connect
    On BPEL Server:
    1)     Deleted connection pool
    2)     Created connection pool iCareConnectionPool using jdbc:oracle:oci:@//<host>:1521/ORCL with userid IDS
    3)     The connection pool test was successful. Clicked finish to create connection pool
    4)     From the JDBC resources screen, I tested the connection pool and it failed with invalid logon error.
    5)     Modified connection pool to use IDS2 and it worked.
    6)     Created new connection pool TestPool – same results
    7)     Tried jdbc:oracle:thin:@//<host>:1521/ORCL - same results
    On my local system BPEL server:
    1)     Created connection pool iCareConnectionPool using jdbc:oracle:oci:@//<host>:1521/ORCL with userid IDS
    2)     The connection pool test was successful. Clicked finish to create connection pool
    3)     From the JDBC resources screen, I tested the connection pool and it failed with invalid logon error.
    4)     Modified connection pool to use IDS2 and it worked.
    5)     Modified connection pool to use ICAREIDS and it failed.
    Since it failed on two different BPEL server's, I am wondering if it is something with the database. I can connect using existing schema's but not IDS or any new schemas. However, I can connect to any schema using any other tool like SQL Developer.
    Can anyone provide an insight as to what could be happening here.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    I found the problem and wanted to pass on the solution in case any one else runs into this problem.
    With Oracle Database 11g the passwords are now case sensitive. Because the BPEL server is using 10g drivers the login fails if you have capital letters in your password.

  • Error while loading xml files using JDBC

    Hi,
    I am trying to load xml files into an xmltype table using JDBC calls and am getting this error for some files
    LPX-00200: could not convert from encoding UTF-8 to UCS2
    The xml files and our database are both UTF-8 encoded. The version of oracle that we have here is 9.2.0.6
    Any suggestions in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Uma

    I also experienced this problem and unfortunately this solution didn't work for me given that the tag you suggested was already on the XML file.

  • Error with a *LOOKUP in a script logic in 7.5 MS

    Hello,
    We have migrated to 7.5 MS from 5.1 version of BPC. Now we are working with SQL 2008 in the 7.5 MS SP05, but we have a script that doesn´t work now.
    The script is:
    /Reparto de la MW_INP a MW_AUX, PRIMA_INP a PRIMA_AUX, CAPEX_INP a CAPEX_AUX, FACTOR_INP a FACTOR_AUX y SUBVPOR_INP a SUBVPOR_AUX del año de proyección genérico al año proyección=año PEM
    //*SELECT(%YEAR%,[YEAR],PEM,"APLICA='Y'")
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNTL = MW_INP,MW_AUX,PRIMA_INP,PRIMA_AUX,CAPEX_INP,CAPEX_AUX,FACTOR_INP,FACTOR_AUX,SUBVPOR_INP,SUBVPOR_AUX
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY = %CATEGORY_SET%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CURRENCY=LC
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TECHNOLOGY = DESCENDANTS(.[RENOVABLES],99,LEAVES)
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET PEM = DESCENDANTS(.[PEMTOT],99,LEAVES)
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TIME =
    *LOOKUP ABAKON
    *DIM YEAR_INICIO:ACCOUNTL="INICIO_INP"
    *DIM YEAR_INICIO:TIME="TIME.INP"
    *ENDLOOKUP
    *WHEN TIME
    *IS "TIME.INP"
         *WHEN ACCOUNTL
         *IS MW_INP
               *REC(ACCOUNTL="MW_AUX",TIME=LOOKUP(YEAR_INICIO) + .TOT,NOADD)
         *IS PRIMA_INP
               *REC(ACCOUNTL="PRIMA_AUX",TIME=LOOKUP(YEAR_INICIO) + .TOT,NOADD)
         *IS CAPEX_INP
               *REC(ACCOUNTL="CAPEX_AUX",TIME=LOOKUP(YEAR_INICIO) + .TOT,NOADD)
         *IS FACTOR_INP
               *REC(ACCOUNTL="FACTOR_AUX",TIME=LOOKUP(YEAR_INICIO) + .TOT,NOADD)
         *IS SUBVPOR_INP
               *REC(ACCOUNTL="SUBVPOR_AUX",TIME=LOOKUP(YEAR_INICIO) + .TOT,NOADD)
         *ENDWHEN
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
    The problem is that in 5.1 MS it concatenated ok and
    in 7.5 MS not (it does not understant the concatenate and does not
    record anything in Time dimension)
    With the REC we want to record the amount of MW_INP (accountl), 2008O
    (pem), and TIME.INP (time) on MW_AUX, 2008O and 2008.TOT.
    After doing some tests, we think the problem is that in 7.5 MS the LOOKUP is not reteiving
    anything.  (We have test without "+ .TOT", only with the lookup) But we do not see any error in the code.
    Could anybody help with this issue?
    Many thanks in advance.

    This was a bug and fixed it in 7.5 SP6.
    I just want to post it for others.

    James Lim

  • N85: System error with Maps

    Hello
    I have a N85 for a few days now. Everything is working except the Maps: when I try to launch the Maps application I have an error message "System Error" ("Erreur système" in french).
    Does anybody know how to fix this problem ?
    Thanks

    Hello
    Thanks for your answer. In fact when I have a look to the installed apps, Nokia Maps is not in the list of installed applications (which is probably the cause of the error). I have already noticed this and I have tried to install Nokia Maps but the result is the same: Nokia Maps not in the list of installed apps and "System error" when I try to use the maps. The Nokia support has sent me some steps to perform (among them reinitialize the phone to its primary state or even format it) to fix the problem. I will try this.
    I'll let you know if it is has worked
    Thanks
    Regards

  • Error with "Mapping Program not Found"

    We exported all of our XI development from DEV and imported it to Prod. We have not changed anything at all. Now, even though I have authority I can't go into EDIT mode in Prod.
    The main problem is that even though everything imported into Prod without error, when we run our program we are getting the following error:
    <b>="MAPPING">NO_MAPPINGPROGRAM_FOUND </b>
    What could have changed and were do I start to look?
    Thanks in advance, will reward points.
    Mike Curtis

    Micheal,
    You dont need to externally import XSD's and WSDL's. If you import the whole software component or the whole namespace then they will come automatically.
    Check in message mappings whether you can see the mappings or not? I think you might have exported object by object not the whole SWCV. If it is yes then you also import the message mapping. Also check in your change list whether there are any objects. If yes please activate them.
    By the way you dont see only the one message mapping you are tyring to check or all of them? Dont edit anything in production. Its not good. So dont enable the edit button as other threads reply.

  • Error in mapping generation when using a data rule

    I hope someone can point me in the right direction on this one. I've searched all over but can't find a similar problem anywhere.
    This is OWB Client 10.2.0.1.31 and repository 10.2.0.1.0 in a 10g SE database . I have a table on which I have defined a data rule, which is deployed in the database along with its corresponding error table. The rule I have used is the built-in IS_DATE and it is applied to a VARCHAR2 field that will store a date in a specific format. I have defined the table as an operator in a mapping, and set the IS_DATE data rule action to MOVE TO ERROR. When I try to deploy the mapping I get the follwoing errors in the log:
    Warning ORA-06550: line 244, column 4:
    PL/SQL: ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis
    Warning ORA-06550: line 221, column 3:
    PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
    Warning ORA-06550: line 3112, column 132:
    PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "DD" when expecting one of the following:
    . ( ) , * @ % & | = - + < / > at in is mod remainder not
    range rem => .. <an exponent (**)> <> or != or ~= >= <= <>
    and or like LIKE2_ LIKE4_ LIKEC_ between || multiset member
    SUBMULTISET_
    The symbol "." was substituted for "DD" to continue.
    When I look at the generated code, there are lines like this one:
    not (wb_to_date("table"."column", Month dd, RRRR, Mon dd, RRRR, MM-DD-RRRR, MM/DD/RRRR, YYYY-MM-DD, YYYY/MM/DD) is not null
    Why is OWB not putting single quotes around the data formats from the built-in data rule? Is there something fundamental I'm missing in my warehouse model?

    Hi
    This is bug 5195315, which looks to be fixed in a 10.2 patch. If you can pick up the latest 10.2 patch there is like 3 years of fixes worth picking up.
    Cheers

  • Error with creating star schema using HsvStarSchemaACM

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a star schema using the API HsvStarSchemaACM. But when calling the create function of API, i get the below exception. Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040251 (A general error occurred while trying to obtain a database Reader/Writer lock). Is this something to do with the parameters passed and its connections(connection works fine and createstarschema is running thru workspace).
    Any solutions to this is more welcome.
    Thanks,
    Logu

    Can you provide details on HsvStarSchemaACM API? How is it related to ODI?

  • Error  in mapping data fields using BODS Designer

    HI All
    I am trying to map the data from excel sheet to SAP ECC 5.0 using Business Objects data services Designer .
    However after mapping the data Fields when i try to do the Validation It is giving me the error message :
    u201D(Data Flow:New_data Flow) (Query:Query) FROM: The input schemas are not specified for <Query.Queryname >u201D
    If anybody has experienced the same error in the past Please let me know how to resolve this error.
    Thanks in Anticipation

    Hello,
    Please check your "From" tab whether it is having the input table name is there or not. also check the mapping tab it should gives you "Schema.field"  format.
    Kindly revert with your findings.
    thx
