Error with property nodes and svx_DAQmx Popup for DSA.vi

Some example vi of the sound and vibration toolset 3.1 use property nodes with an undefined class (e.g. svx_DAQmx Popup for DSA.vi). I use Labview 7.1 and NI-DAQmx. Could it be that the vi uses classes from traditional NI-DAQ?

The error occurs in:
C:\Programme\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\examples\Sound and Vibration\Utility\Daq\DAQmx\svx_Get DAQmx Info.vi
C:\Programme\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\examples\Sound and Vibration\Utility\Daq\DAQmx\svx_DAQmx Popup for DSA.vi
see also attached screen shot.
It is a new installation on a PXI-system, WinXP, LabView 7.1, SVT 3.1, NI-DAQ 7.4 (only DAQmx driver installed). The examples had not been tested before.

  • Broblem with property node and DAQ-card

    Hi!
I am using NI DAQ-card to control mini relays and I have a following broblem. I use a "binary" button to control the DAQ-assistant and so on the relays. I have made property node of the "binary" button and set it to value mode(write). When I change the value of property node, the "binary" button in user interface works properly, but the the relay doesn't change the state.

The boolean array constant that you are writing to the property node is empty. That is it has been defined as a boolean array, but it has no elements.
The array constant on the left is an empty boolean array. Notice that all teh boolean constants are grayed out. This indicates that none of the constants are 'active'. The array on the right contains 8 active elements. Note that the 8 elemants are more solid in color adn the the 9th element is grayed out.
What you need to do is define your boolean array with the proper constants to turn on or off the proper digital lines.

The optical drive has probably failed. It's a fairly common thing with these slim SuperDrives. Does it read any discs you put into it? You can try resetting the SMC and pram but I'll be surprised if it helps.
    To reset the SMC
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on
    Resetting PRAM and NVRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Descritption of property nodes and what they mean

Does anybody know where I can get a good description of property nodes and what the specific properties mean?  The help files are a start, but in many areas they are kind of lame..

My company is sending a representative to NI Week to meet with some head honchos from NI on possible improvements and suggestions.  I have added what you are asking for to the list of what will be discussed.  In addition to property nodes, I am asking for documentation of all methods.  I've seen a large TestStand poster that lists API calls, properties and methods, and such.  I think the same ought to be done with Labview.  Of course that poster would be humongous.  Any kind of document would suffice.  I am anxiously awaiting the outcome of this meeting.
Many other items are on the list, including some issues that were brought up in this forum.  I have asked for a way to "comment out" sections of code without having to use a case structure set to false with all the wiring changes.  Another item I asked for was a wizard to automatically generate the basic code for some architectures, like producer-consumer, state machine (simpler that using the state machine toolkit), and such.  Many others here have joined in to make suggestions, too numerous to list them all here.

  • Working with "property nodes" in pda module

    Hi,
i already know that it is not possible to work with property node in pda module.
I have found something that allows to replace the visible property node
(LabVIEW_PDA_Module_Property_Additions), but i need other property
    nodes.
I need the following property nodes:
    disabled
    caption.text
    numrows (for a table control)
    numcols (for a table control)
    colhdrs[] (for a table control)
Can anyone give me a help with this?
    Thanks,
    Pedro

I think the only one you can do something about is the caption, which you can try to replace with a string indicator.

  • How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files?

How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files? I need to look at several thousand PDF files. It takes too long to open each one individually. The only thing I could think of is combining them into large groups and then using the Navigation index. But I like the way windows Picture and Fax Viewer does it because you can keep the files separate. Combining PDFs causes loss of individual file names. That would be a problem since I do need to have the individual file names.

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is a DLL and is started via a rundll32.exe call and can't be set as an application to handle images in Firefox 3 and later versions.
Try to set Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default viewer in Windows, then it should be listed automatically in the Mozilla Firefox Browse dialog.

Basically you would need Acrobat. However, it is now also possible to create basic form fields using just the free Reader. In fact, I've been working on a tool that allows you to do it, so if you're interested in it please contact me privately.

Unfortunately do not know the operating system since I never updated anything and I can't get in to it.
    Thanks for your assistance.

If you want to preserve the data on the boot drive, and it's not already backed up, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is not fully functional. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
    1. Boot from the Recovery partition or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    2. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    3. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.

Primary and alternate email addresses need to be verified but a rescue email address doesn't, it can be added to an account and used without being verified (you will get a verify button when adding/changing it, but the system doesn't force it to be verified). I would hope that the person using the email address as their rescue email address will notice that they aren't getting reset emails and that after contacting Support to get their security questions / password reset he/she will check what they've set it to and change it. The OP won't be able to log into the other account as he/she won't know its primary or alternate ids.

  • Tips for blue screen (BSOD) errors with Windows Vista and Intel Turbo Memory on T61/T61p

Important note: The symptoms and solutions described below address only a small subset of the possible causes for blue screen errors, aka BSOD. This information can help address blue screen errors specifically related to Turbo Memory, but may not solve errors related to other issues. Please read through the instructions completely, make sure they apply to your system, and after attempting the solutions please post back with your feedback for the community.
Some users may experience random blue screen errors with ThinkPad
systems running Windows Vista with Intel Turbo Memory hardware. These
blue screens may occur during normal usage on the system or they may
occur when booting into Windows Vista. Blue screens related to the
Intel Turbo Memory hardware may reference a stop code of 8086 with
    memory address locations of {0, 0, 0, 0}.
There are two main steps that you can take to help resolve blue screen issues related to Intel Turbo Memory.
Step 1: Update Intel Turbo Memory Driver
If the driver version is before version 1.0.1.1004-7.0.3.1001, please
    update to this version.
To determine what version of the Intel Turbo Memory driver is installed:
    1.    Click Start, then click Control Panel.
    2.    Click System and Maintenance.
    3.    Click System.
    4.    Click Device Manager.
    5.    Expand the Storage controllers category.
    6.    Double-click Intel Flash Cache Logic Chip.
    7.    Click the Driver tab. Then you will see the driver version (for example, 1.0.1.1004).
The new driver and installation instructions can be found here.
Note: The Intel Matrix Storage Driver is updated with this package.
    Step 2: BIOS version
If your BIOS version is older than those listed below, please update to the version listed.
How to check your BIOS version:
    Turn off the system.
    Turn on the system.
While the To interrupt normal startup, press the blue ThinkVantage button message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key.
    The
BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If you have set a supervisor
password, the BIOS Setup Utility menu appears after you enter the
    password.
Check BIOS Version and Embedded Controller Version.
    Turn off the system.
    System BIOS versions:
    ThinkPad T61/T61p (14.1 inch widescreen with IEEE 1394 model) - BIOS version 1.22 (7LET52WW)
    Please
remember that these updates do not solve every possible system blue
screen, but they do resolve several problems related to the Intel Turbo
    Memory driver.

    Thanks Tim,
I do have my T61p fully up-to-date to the latest drivers and updates (via System Update and the Drivers&Software web page when the former is not that up-to-date).
At the moment the most recurrent problem is this:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=T_Series_Thinkpads&thread.id=55
which has been longly speculated here:
    http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=47755
My other angst is the boot-time chkdsk hang-up problem:
    http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=52765&highlight=chkdsk
I just wonder if this purely a Vista issue when using NV cache, the disk spinning down at almost exactly 1 hour from the beginning of the chdsk operation seems too much of a coincidence.
    This is my T61p configuration:
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4GHz
    BIOS version 1.26-1.06
    4GB RAM 2 SO-DIMMs
nVidia Quadro FX 570m with 512MB VRAM
    WUXGA LCD
    Seagate 7200.2 160 GB
    4GB RAM 2 SO-DIMMs
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit (waiting to move to 64bit)

    Dear Tim,
First off, many thanks for the tips for resolving BSOD with Vista + Turbo Memory on X61.  I've been suffering from this BSOD for countless times since I bought in my X61 7673-CW9 in April 2008.
Even prior to having the pleasure to visit this wonderful forum, I followed both steps as indicated, and updated my Intel Turbo Memory driver to 1.5.0.1013 and my BIOS to 7NETB4WW (2.14).  However, the BSOD recurrs.
For the past two months, I've recovered my system to factory default settings using Rescue and Recovery for over twenty times, each time with the latest Intel Turbo Memory driver and BIOS.  Notwithstanding that, BSOD recurrs.
During these painful experiences, I tried two options: 1) making my X61 up-to-date by using System Update and Windows Update (including Vista SP1 or excluding Vista SP1); 2) keeping my X61 the status as factory default (i.e. without updating through either System Update or Windows Update (the automatic/scheduled update function of both is turned off)).  In either case, BSOD recurrs.
I'm 100% positive that the BSOD does not arise from any hardware or software/firmware I install.  I never install any hardware (e.g. RAM).  And, it is not caused by any software/firmware I install: the clear and unequivocal evidence is that at one time,I encountered BSOD while having restored back to factory setting and booting for the first time.
I live in Taiwan, and I seldom heard this BSOD here.  All of my friends (as most of Taiwan residents) using X61 operate in Traditional Chinese environment, whereas I operate in English environment.  In Taiwan, when booting for the first time after purchase/recovery, the Windows Vista Business system provides for lanuage choice (Traditional Chinese or English), and, once chosen, the language cannot be altered later on (unless, of course, the system is restored back to factory default settings).
My system specs are the same as the day I purchased it and are listed below (as I'm not sure if my machine type X61 7673-CW9 is applicable outside Taiwan):
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.4GHz
    Memory: 1.00 G.B.
    System: Windows Vista Business (32-bit)
    Hard Drive: 160 G.B. @ 7,200 r.p.m.
And, of course, with Intel Turbo Memory 1 G.B.
I contacted the Lenovo support staff here in Taiwan for countless times, but they seem to be clueless.  I learned that some friends at this forum downgraded their OS back to Windows XP, but I chose not to.  The reason is simple: my purchase price for X61 7673-CW9 includes the Intel Turbo Memory, which cannot function under Windows XP (at least so far).
Therefore, I just wish to share my experience here and perhaps I can get some advice from you and other friends here.  Any advice will be tremendously and enormously appreciated.
    Kevin Chen @ Taiwan
