[eval 1.1.0.21.4.1/Windows XP] 'oracle.ide.webupdate' message
We're currently developing a SQLDeveloper extension.
Our extensions loads fine in 15.57 but when we try in the new eval build we get:
Error: Must import extension 'oracle.ide.webupdate' to use hook 'update-hook' in namespace 'http://xmlns.oracle.com/ide/update-hook'.Should we add the import or is this something you guys need to fix? Bear in mind that extension in question works in JDev 103, Sqldev 1557....

Is it significantly problematic to release two versions of your extension? If so, we can look into putting a compatibility shunt into the ide platform for sqldev 1.1.
I can live with it - it does make the development testing cycle more complicated though and it seems a great pity to lose interoperability between Jdev and SqlDev for the sake of 1 line in extension.xml. You may also find it turns into a barrier for sqldev plugin development....
On the other hand there's no reason to assume I would be able keep everything in 1 plugin forever - sooner or later some kind of serious library difference would appear and I'd have to do a split at that stage.....

Windows on oracle Virtual Machine

We have a server x86-64.We have installed Oracle Virtual server on this server.
Now we have a requirement of installing Windows Operating system on oracle virtual machine.
is this possible?
I checked available virtual templates on oracle edelivery. but there was not any available for windows.

You can install windows on Oracle VM Server, but no template with windows.
- you should import the windows.iso file in the repository
- create a VM with the type HVM or HVM, PV Drivers ...
- Install a windows

In Windows 7, iTunes gives error message "An iPhone has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the phonon then try again."

If I click any combination of the three buttons many times it eventually goes away.
Then, it also happens when doing any operation with a song file such as conveting format or it rate. In this case it may lock up iTunes and require a C-A-D to get out of the application.

Have a USB2 external hard drive hooked up to your system? A number of these devices are starting to show up as the cause of the problems listed above. The cause has been linked to drives that were manufactured a year or more ago. Note I said manufactured not purchased. The cause is poor USB 2.0 specifications that the drive case manufactures followed which has deteriorated with age causing the above failures. If this happens to you try disconnecting your external drive and see if your problem goes away. A couple of multifunction printers have also been the cause of similar problems but most of these have higher visibility on internet search engines than the external hard drives.

trying to export video in mpeg 2 but compressor doesn't come up in the export drop down window. Any ideas?
Export the file using "Current Settings" and enable "self contained".
Once the export is complete, open up Compressor, drop in your file, select the desired output settings and turn Compressor loose. If you have set up a Quick Cluster and have a multi core Mac, Compressor will use all available cores. It will be a faster process.

Ok so I cant open my Itunes due to Windows Error 2 and the message says to uninstall and re-install Itunes but I'm pretty sure that would wipe the library right? Is there any way to fix the problem and keep my library?

Note that, as it says in those articles:
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes. I'm installing an ERP 6.0 EHP4 on platform windows 2008 - oracle 10 with MSCS.
Cluster is configure as described in SAP installation manual.
Network configuration is set up as described in SAP installation manual.
During step --> First MSCS Node (7.3.5 Configuring the First MSCS Node) sapinst got an error before end of input parameters.
In other forum I've found to check MSCS network configuration, but it seems OK.
Any idea ?

my SAP system is 7.01 kernel based so I can't apply control.xml of "Note 1249469 - SAP NetWeaver Based On Kernel 7.11: Windows".
I've just download new control.xml file attached to "Note 1326698 - SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1/Business Suite 7 SR1: Windows" but error still remains.
So I've compared the two control.xml files in corrispondence of function IPAddress(adr), where the error "modlib.jslib.invalidIPAddressNumber" is returned.
The difference between files are reported below (first control.xml for kernl 701 and before control.xml files for kernel 7.11).
I've noticed that in my control.xml files is missing the following code:

For a test I've tried to modify my control.xml files adding this code and there is no error; I can see "Parameter Summary" of sapinst program. Now I can go on with installation, clicking on next.
Now I've to decide if going on with installation or opening a support message to SAP Support for validating this solution.

How to create large message window in Oracle Applications.
Hi there,
I would like to display a window in Oracle Applications very similar to the window we see when we go to Help-> About Oracle Applications.
Basically I need a window that can display quite a bit of text (hence with a scroll bar) that I can call from custom.pll
I tried using fnd_message.set_string but this cuts off the message if it is too long.
Does anyone know how to do this.

Thank you so much for the idea...i am trying to do this but have run into a problem when closing the form.
I have created a new form from template.fmb, with one window with just one field to display the message and one 'ok' button (that will close the form).
I am now calling this form from within a trigger in CUSTOM.pll.
Basically, when a user clicks on the quanitity field on a purchase order line, i want this message to pop up depending on the item they have selected.
I have used the 'WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE' trigger on the quantity field. Once the conditions validates to true, the message pops up... but when I try to close the form (clicking the OK button), it seems like it pops up again as it returns control back to the quantity field and then the trigger kicks in again?
Any ideas as to how I can resolve this.
