Evaluate Authentication Scheme from Logon Ticket in WAS ABAP

Hello,
we've got the following problem: we have a corporate intranet portal. The portal is connected to several backend-systems. Between the portal and the backend-systems is a trust relationsship to enable single sign on. On Web-AS-Java-based systems we can configure the logon stacks that the authentication scheme in the logon ticket is evaluated (authschemes.xml).
We want to use this function of the sso2-Logon-Ticket in the business warehouse system as well. It is very important that only users authenticated with a specific authentication scheme on the portal (strong) are given access to the business warehouse.
Does anybody know if its possible to evaluate the authentication scheme in Web AS ABAP?
Thx,
Norbert

Hi Nobert
The easy solution is to only create the userid in the BW system that needs access to it , and only assign your BW portal Role to the users who need access to the BW system

  • How to create a logon ticket in WAS ABAP ?

    Hi,
    Create a logon Ticket in a WAS Java is quite easy, but How create a logon ticket in a WAS ABAP ?
    If anyone have an answer for this question, I'm glad to ear it.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Thanks Eddy, for this link.
    In fact, I do not want to handle logon Error, but write a logon ticket for the connected user in a BSP page.
    In my case the user connect with a login + PWd in the URL. So the session stay open while timeout is not reached, or browser's window is not closed.
    When timeout is reached the user will no longer be able to browse to an other page without having to logon again. That why I would like, in the logon page, to write a logon ticket with 8 hours validity.
    In such case, if user's session timesout, next navigation will create a new session because having a valid logon ticket in browser session.
    It's quite easy to do this in WAS Java, but I do not know how to do this in WAS ABAP...
    I hope this description of my need will be more explicit.
    Taryck.

  • Create Authentication Scheme From Scretch

    Hi there,
    I have build an application for users, but the problem i ran in to is that when i try to create a new Create Authentication Scheme,
    it doenst let me create one from scratch.
    only two options avaliable are :
    - Based on a pre-configured scheme from the gallery
    - As a copy of an existing authentication scheme
    Can some one maby explain me why i dont have the option to create a scheme from scratch, and what will i need to do to get the option.
    Yours Sincerly,
    Sebastian!

    The scenario is as follow,
    I'm working on a project as for my finals, and the they asked us to make a Authetication login for users.
    I can make groups and users in Apex. I've put some users in a group called: 'Developers'. I want users that are in 'Developers' to be blocked
    from certain pages in the application (they may not access all the pages, only certain pages).
    So i have read the book Pro Oracle Application Express 4 AUTHENTICATION AND USER MANAGEMENT
    and the book says you need to start wich an authentication for users.
    I tried it with several tutorials and still it doesnt work. I'm not that good in programming, I do understand what they are saying but finding everything in apex.oracle is just such a work.
    I did the following.
    Creating the my_users
    apexdemo@10gR2> create table my_users(
    username varchar2(8),
    password varchar2(8)
    insert into user_repository values
    ('john', '1234');
    This was to create a table and add a user into it.
    Next i created a custom Authentication Scheme and added the following code
    create or replace package pkg_auth as
    function authenticate(p_username in varchar2,
    p_password in varchar2) return boolean;
    end;
    create or replace package body pkg_auth as
    function authenticate(p_username in varchar2,
    p_password in varchar2) return boolean is
    -- default the result to 0
    v_result integer := 0;
    begin
    -- store 1 in v_result if a matching row
    -- can be found
    select 1
    into v_result
    from user_repository
    where username = lower(p_username)
    and password = p_password;
    -- return true if a matching record was found
    return(v_result = 1);
    exception
    -- if no record was found then return false
    when no_data_found then
    return false;
    end authenticate;
    end;
    I tried the code with
    declare
    bres boolean := false;
    begin
    -- use the correct username and password
    bres := pkg_auth.authenticate('john', '1234');
    if (bres = true) then
    dbms_output.put_line('Authentication was successful');
    else
    dbms_output.put_line('Authentication failed');
    end if;
    end;
    and it returned : Authentication was successful
    But when i try to login with the user him self i says login credentials invalid
    I dont know what i;m doing wrong or what i'm forgetting here to make it work.

  • User from Logon Ticket

    Hi,
    Can anyone please let me know the process of getting the issuer name and portal user from the logon ticket using java program
    Thanks in advance
    Rgds
    Satya

    Well, of course you are - SAP logon tickets are not encrypted but digitally signed. However, you cannot go sure that the syntax is stable - it could be changed at any time. But there's an API for "ticket verifiers" (keyword "sapssoext"). That's why Patrick was asking you whether you want to analyse SAP logon tickets outside an NetWeaver Application Server.
    I'm not sure whether you are aware of all the checks which need to be performed to validate SAP logon tickets:
    1. parse ticket to retrieve digital signature (attached) and information on issuer (systemID and client, required for step 3)
    2. verify digital signature (using SSF, sapseculib / sapcryptolib); determine subject name and issuer of the certificate (used by the ticket issuer to digitally sign the SAP logon ticket)
    3. lookup ACL (for issuer systemID, client, certificate subject name and issuer); that ACL (access control list) needs to be implemented by you (unless using a NetWeaver Application Server)
    4. check ticket validity
    5. retrieve username
    6. potentially: perform user mapping
    7. check validity of user account (account validity, account lock, ...)
    Just to parse the username out of a SAP logon ticket is not sufficient.

  • SSO with Logon Ticket to non-SAP Unix based application

    Hi all,
    Anyone has implemented SSO with Logon Ticket to a Unix box ?
    We need to achieve Single Sign On between our EP5.0 SP5 Portal and a third-party web application with a front-end on a Unix AIX machine with Apache.
    We achieved SSO with non-SAP applications with Logon Tickets, but one was to an IIS system in another domain (we therefore used the standard Web Filter for IIS and declared it in usermanagement for cross-domain support) and another one running on Windows platform (we used the C libraries provided in the "Logon Ticket Toolkit": NT or Linux only).
    From what we understand and found on the web sites, we cannot reuse any standard web filter (none for Unix, am I correct ???) and want to implement custom code using SAP libraries, if possible using Java
    -> Are there any Java libraries that are available to both:
    . verify the logon ticket with the deployed Portal public key
    . decrypt/extract the authenticated username from this ticket ??
    I've seen a mention of Java libraries, and Unix, in a SAP EP 6.0 document but I'm not sure where to find them...
    Is the SAP Logon Ticket issued the same way in EP 5.0 and EP 6.0 ?
    I managed to find something called SAPSSOEXT, for AIX, which contains some partial library and a sample, but it is dated 2000 !! Anyone has more information about this ?
    Any hint is very much appreciated.
    Thanks a lot
    Olivier

    Check these links for reference regarding AIX and Apache using X.509 certificates:
    http://publib16.boulder.ibm.com/pseries/en_US/aixbman/security/cas_pki.htm
    And just using cookies -
    http://forums.devshed.com/archive/t-105611 (perl based)
    You can also use mod_ssl built into your Apache to facilitate both certificate based authentication as well as encryption.
    The mod_ssl route is most secure (because of the encryption), the IBM link is comprehensive but requires extra infrastructure (LDAP).

  • I'm trying to create an LDAP authentication scheme on XE APEX

    Hi --
    I hope I did not do something or not do something really dumb. I followed the instructions on http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/howtos/how_to_ldap_authenticate.html to create an LDAP authentication scheme from the gallery. After the final 'Create Scheme' button has been hit, I get the green check mark and a statement "Authentication Scheme Created". However, below that, on the content section, I get "No authentication schemes have been defined. You can create a new authentication scheme starting with the Create Scheme button above.".
    It seems like nothing happened because I don't see the new scheme I just created.
    I am running an APEX on an XE oracle.
    Thanks
    Betty

    Betty,
    Sorry about that. That's one of those bugs that was identified after XE went out the door.

  • How enabled Single Sign-On with a System SAP WAS ABAP (Run application BSP)

    Hi.
    I need to run any application BSP from a System SAP WAS ABAP, without entering SAP user and password. Using the windows authentication and without SAP Enterprise Portal.
    What authentication methods I have to apply for enabled Single Sign-On with a System SAP WAS ABAP?.
    And How can I enabled this method?.
    Best regards.
    Luis Gomez.

    Hi Ticiano,
    SAP WebAS ABAP supports a number of authenticaiton mechanisms. See
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/02/d4d53aa8a9324de10000000a114084/frameset.htm]
    A number of these authentication mechanisms can be combined with Windows authentication (e.g. SNC, client certificates, ...).
    The decision what mechanism fits best depends on critieria like
    - SAP server platform
    - security requirements
    - extensibility (should same authentication mechanism be used for future SAP environments, which will be E-SOA based)
    - authentication from outside company domain
    - Use of SAP security library (SAPcryptolib)
    You may want to look at the SAP Software Solution Partner Catalog, if you look for certified SSO solution vendors for SAP.
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • OfficialFile.asmx The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Negotiate,NTLM'. ERROR

    We are getting an error on the authentication piece when trying to submit a file to the OfficialFile.asmx web service to submit a document to the Drop-Off Library. Here is the code snippet -
    public string FileUpload(HttpPostedFile FileInput, RecordsRepositoryProperty[] properties)
    string strFileUrl = string.Empty;
    RecordsRepositorySoapClient repository = new RecordsRepositorySoapClient();
    BinaryReader b = new BinaryReader(FileInput.InputStream);
    byte[] binData = b.ReadBytes(FileInput.ContentLength);
    repository.ClientCredentials.Windows.ClientCredential = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(iUserID, iUserPassword, iUserDomain);
    repository.ClientCredentials.Windows.AllowedImpersonationLevel = System.Security.Principal.TokenImpersonationLevel.Impersonation;
    repository.SubmitFile(binData, properties, null, FileInput.FileName, HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name);
    strFileUrl = repository.GetFinalRoutingDestinationFolderUrl(properties, null, FileInput.FileName).Url;
    return strFileUrl;
    Although we are setting the network credential in the client call we still get the error
    - The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Negotiate,NTLM'.
    Ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Based on the error message, the issue is related to the authentication type.
    I suggest you can specify the credential type like the below:
    CredentialCache credentialCache = new CredentialCache();
    NetworkCredential credentials = new NetworkCredential(UserName, PassWord, sDomain);
    credentialCache.Add(new Uri(recordCenterUrl), "NTLM", credentials);
    Here is a detailed code demo for your reference:

  • SSO-Logon from mobile device - create logon ticket from WebDynpro for Java

    Hi Experts,
    I'm developing WebDynpro-JAVA application for some warehouse stuff  (runs on a portal system, clients are mobile barcode-scanners with Windows mobile 5.0). JCOs from the portal system to the R/3-backend are confirgured for SSO with Logon-tickets and portal uses LDAP for authentication against a Windows-ADS.
    This works so far ... but my problem is the standard Logon-screen, which is nearly unusable on the mobile device (screen size, layout, etc.). Is there any solution to create logon-tickets directly from the WebDynpro application (using something from com.sap.engine.interfaces.security.auth or similar ?) or any chance to have a special logon screen for mobile devices (parameter sap-wd-client=Pie03Client is ignored for the logon screen).
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Hendrik

    Hi Henrik,
    Did you find the solution to your problem ?
    I'm facing the same issue, so I'd be pleased to know the solution!

  • HTTP request was forbidden with client authentication scheme 'anonymous'

    Hi,
    We have updated our support Package for version BPC NW 10.0 release 801 from 0002 to 0005.
    After the update we are not being to access the server folders in EPM Add-in.
    We have the following error "HTTP request was forbidden with client authentication scheme 'anonymous'". Nevertheless we only can't access to the content of folders that are not public or local.
    In SLG1 log, we have the error " Access not granted, You are not the member of team: BUSINESS ADMIN". This is not true because the user has SAP_ALL in BW and is a primary administrator in BPC. The data access profile associated is the administrator member access profile.
    Has anybody seen this error?
    Best regards,
    JA

    Hi Nilanjan,
    We are able to log in into EPM Add-in.
    We have the error when we try to open input forms or reports from server, but only from some folders.
    When we select the folder we have the error.
    For example we can see the content from:
    WEBEXCEL\REPORTLIBRARY\
    ADMIN\WEBEXCEL\TEAMREPORTLIBRARY\
    But we can't see the content from:
    BUSINESS ADMIN\WEBEXCEL\TEAMREPORTLIBRARY\
    TEAM FI\WEBEXCEL\TEAMREPORTLIBRARY\
    The user has administrator member access profile ans is included in all teams (ADMIN, BUSINESS ADMIN and TEAM FI)
    We really can't see what could be the problem
    Hope you can help us.
    regards,
    JA

  • Ignore MYSAPSSO2 Logon Ticket from Portal in BSP

    Hi all,
    We have a WAS which is configured to access MYSAPSSO2 logon tickets from our EP 6.0 Portal. However, we have BSP's connected to the portal, and others to be used independently from the portal. The problem is that if we launch the portal as a new window of the BSP application, a MYSAPSSO2 logon ticket is created, so the BSP application, we refreshed, now changes the logged on user to the one on the logon ticket!
    So the bottom line is: Is it possible to prevent accepting logon tickets for a specific BSP?
    Thanks for your time and help.
    Regards,
    Nuno Vitorino

    Hello Jain,
    Thanks for your answer. Actually, it solved the problem the other way around. In the local hosts file, we set a different domain for the WAS (In productive, we'll add the new address in the DNS). Then launching the BSP with this new domain, we were able to launch the portal and the MYSAPSSO2 logon ticket generated is not accepted by the BSP. We couldn't change the portal server address, because that way, the SSO within the portal wouldn't work.
    Anyway, you've set me in the right direction so I'm giving you 10 points.
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Nuno Vitorino

  • Windows Integrated Authentication & SAP Logon tickets

    1) We have configured windows authentication and the IISproxy on a SPS frontend server to our SAP portal environment.
    2)We have configured SAP logon tickets on the SAP portal (running on hp-ux).
    3) Both the IIS server and the sap portal server exist on the same domain inside our firewall (iis_server.lsv.internal_company_name.com and sap_portal_server.lsv.internal_company_name.com)
    4) A virtual URL has been created on the IIS server, http://sap_portal.external_company_name.com, using a domain alias.
    5) When an authenticated user is passed from the IIS server to the SAP portal the SAP logon ticket that is created is for external_company_name.com alias rather than lsv.internal_company_name.com. This logon ticket is not accepted by any of the backend SAP systems that have been configured to except logon tickets because they all exist in the lsv.internal_company_name.com domain.
    6) The portal security guide says:
    "The Portal Server issues a SAP logon ticket for the Internet domain or a sub-domain of the
    Portal Server only."
    Given this scenario, is there some configuration that can be added to allow the use of this alias or is there a bug in the SAP portal code that needs to be addressed?

    Hi,
    You cannot use the external alias. You can however set SSO on the portal not to look to the total url. For example it would work if you use:
    sap_portal_server.lsv.internal.company_name.com
    and
    sap_portal.external.company_name.com
    The prerequisite here is that at least the domain name should be the same i.e. the last two parts.
    Greetings,
    Vincent

    NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined

  • SAP GUI & logon tickets

    We're setting up a bunch of iViews in our portal to provide transparent single-sign on to all our backend SAP systems.  They run on Unix, so we'd need to purchase a third party product to do it directly with SAPGUI.  I'm wondering if there's a technical reason why the SAP GUI client couldn't perform a standard NT authentication and then use logon tickets to grant backend access like the Portal does, assuming the userids are the same (I realize there's no place in SAPGUI to do user mapping if they're not).
    Just curious.  It would be a great way to provide single signon to SAP systems regardless of the server platform.
    Thanks,
    Rich

    Hi Sanjay,
    actually there was a handson given two years ago, exactly showing this on teched.
    You may be able to find the contents at
    elearning:     https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/elearning.sdn?class=/public/eclasses/teched04/SCUR251.htm
    presentation: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/single%20sign-on%20in%20heterogenous%20landscapes.pdf
    This setup is used by some customers also to get an improved version of the SAP logon pad
    Please be aware, that this only covers SSO to the SAP Gui connected system but not encryption.
    Kind regards,
    Patrick

  • SSO Help - Portal to ABAP via logon tickets

    Hi All,
    I've done this configuration in the past but it seems that the process has changed a bit and I'm in need of some advice.
    I have a portal system which I've setup SSO. The SSO is done through Kerberos and the users are pulled from LDAP. Users login to their windows account, they hit the portal without having to login again, perfect. I used the new SPNego setup wizard to do this.
    Now the issue I'm having. Portal user ID's are not the same as ABAP ID's. I have used a blank attribute in Active Directory (specifically "extensionAttribute7") to fill in the ABAP user ID's. I have modified the data source XML file in the portal to look like this:
    <nameSpace name="$usermapping$">
    <attributes>
    <attribute name="REFERENCE_SYSTEM_USER">
    <physicalAttribute name="extensionAttribute7" />
    </attribute>
    </attributes>
    </nameSpace>
    I have changed the UME property to look like this:
    ume.usermapping.refsys.mapping.type = attribute
    When I try to access an SAP report through the portal I get the error:
    The initial exception that caused the request to fail was:
    Ticket contains no / an empty ABAP user ID (see note 1159962)
    My ABAP system is setup to create and accept logon tickets. Certificates have been exchanged on both systems (checked through NWA). It looks like the saplogonticket isn't picking up the ABAP user ID that I've stored in AD and mapped to in the XML file.
    In the Java system, my logon ticket stack looks like this:
    EvaluateTicketLoginModule SUFFICENT
    SPNegoLoginModule OPTIONAL
    CreateTicketLoginModule SUFFICENT
    BasicPasswordLoginModule REQUIRED
    CreateTicketLoginModule REQUIRED
    Can anyone see an obvious step that I'm missing? Any tips would be appreciated.
    Portal system is running 7.01 sp8
    ABAP is running 7.01 sp8
    Cheers,
    Richard

    Hi Arjun,
    No I'm not using user mapping. I want to pass my ABAP user ID from an attribute I'm using in Active Directory. For some reason the sap logon ticket isn't picking up my username from the attribute when I try to go from portal to ABAP.
    Hi Samarth,
    Not sure I understand the request. The user is coming from the portal and is attempting to run a ABAP report from the portal. The user names are not the same. I am attempting to map the ABAP user ID to an Active Directory attribute that I can pass to the sap logon ticket.
    Hi Siva Kumar,
    Yes I checked the VA as well, the entries are there.
    Thanks all for the suggestions. Keep them coming if you have more, they are greatly appreciated.
    I basically followed this from SAP to set it up
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/0b/d82c4142aef623e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    You are using an LDAP directory as a data source for the User Management Engine (UME). The user IDs for ABAP systems are already available in the LDAP directory. You no longer need to define a user mapping for each user, as the data is already available in the LDAP directory.
    Cheers,
    Richard
