EVCVW with a property filter

Hi all,
I want to put a search cell, like a EVMBR but filtered and I don't know how. I am trying with the EVCW, but I have some problems with the 3th field. In the formula's help its written the following a example text: "CALC=N;GROUP=SALES"
I have some doubts about it:
Q1 - Why are 2 fields in one? CALC=N and GROUP=SALES? it's always mandatory the field CALC=N? what's it utility?
Q2 - "GROUP" makes reference to a dimension, a property, a member...? and SALES?
Q3 - If I want to filter a dimension by a property (element), a specific one (plant). What would be the syntax

BPC 10.0- Creating report using dimension property filter

Hi,
I created a new report in EPM addin for excel using the 'Filter Members by Properties' feature in the EPM Member Selector Window.
My requirement is as I add new members to my dimension with that property value , the report has to refresh and display the new member in the report.
The feature met my requirement and I saved the report.When I reopen the report, the filter that I had earlier used to create the report is hard coded with the members with those properties in the EPM selector Window.
As a result, when I add new Members to the dimension with that property , the report does not recognise that new member and my requirement does not meet.
Eg: I create report with Entity dimension across row axis and Product Dimension -filter on category = New across column axis
and save the report.
When I reopen the report, I see that in the EPM Member selector window, across column axis the members with Property Value Category= Y - Product A,Product B, Product E are hard coded and the filter has been auto removed.
So when I add a new member to my product dimension Product N with property Category= New, the report does not recognise this member.
Please help on how can I use this feature to meet my requirement.

Hi,
It should work for newly created members which meets the requriement in member selector.
Member filtering by properties:
Select property, operator and Value and click Add Dynamic filter then in the right window you will be able to see as follows:
Member name Relation ship
<property>=<Value> Property

Error when applying Property Filter

I implemented a property filter for read name QMSPropertyFilter.
Now I applied it to a repository uhl_qmd.
When I open a navigation iview for this repository, I get the following exception:

Sorry Dirk,
I was wrong. After booting the portal I get the nullpointer exception again.
My coding is adapted from the KM examples, so I added the properties I want to change to the property map.
What do you mean with: "...specify the properties ... IPropertyFilter.getPropertyNameList() method."?
In our case this looks like this:
public IPropertyNameList getPropertyNameList() throws WcmException {
          return null;
Is there any reliable example as I took this from SDN???

BPC::EVCVW with filters no hierarchy view

Hi,
We are using EVCVW function on a BPC Excel template on a dimension with hierarchy.
Our problem is that when we use the filters, the display dimension values appear as a table instead of as a hierarchy.
The Hierarchy radio button is selected.
But when we remove the filters, the hierarchy view works fine again.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
The problem is that we need to filter the dimensions values (from another values of the template).
To do this we use the function EVCVW with the option:"filters". Using this option we lose the display of the hierarchy that we have built with the PARENTH1.
In addition, we need to block the values of the filters, so they can not be changed by the user.
Any suggestions for these two issues?

Content Search Webpart Property Filter

Hi,
I have two pages. In first page i added custom webpart with one textbox and search button. In second page i have content search webpart that should filter the result based on the property value we enter in the text box.
I added the property filter PropertyNameOWSTEXT:{QueryString.MyParameter1} to the query. I am passing the value on click of button through query string to second page. I have results matching the query in my list but Content Serach Webpart not showing any
results.
Can anybody help???

EVDRE - Property Filter on the Page Key

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to apply a property filter on one of the dimensions in the page key. I want to filter data that is returned but do not want to include the dimension in my expansion.
Example:
BPC v7.0
Row Dim = Entity
Col dim = Time
Page Key Property Filter on "Account".
If it is not possible, is there another way to filter data returned by EVDRE based on dimensions properties without including the dimension in the expansion.

The purpose of the property filter on the report is to not limit the member selection but rather to filter the data. I'm pretty new to BPC Excel so I'm not sure if I am missing something but I'm just looking to filter data from the Database in my EVDRE without having to include the dimension in my expansion/report.
Its looks like that the Page Keys and the Current View only allows you to select/filter on one value at a time and if I want to do more I need to include it in my expansion?? There has too be a way to do this b/c if this is a limitation then I seriously thing that SAP needs to go back to the drawing boards with this one. I hope that its just me as I'm a newbee.
Any additional assistance will be greatly appreciated.

NW 7.5 SP 7 - Property filter without expansion

Hi experts,
We have a requirement to display a value restricted by a dimension property.
We know that this is no problem in a member expansion.
However, in our case we would like to display the aggregated level only.
ie:
dimension is MATERIAL
property is COUNT_FLAG (yes or no)
P_ACCT = Quantity
We would like to be able to select a MATERIAL hierarchy node and display the aggregeted value where COUNT_FLAG = yes
Is there a way to achieve this without having to expand all members?

Hi Nilanjan,
This is a good idea but unfortunately won't work in our case because we are trying to dynamically expand a number of P_ACCTs down the rows. Quantity is only one of them. And the property filter only applies to Quantity and not the other accounts.
It's no problem if we can make the report static. Then we can even just have another EVDRE on a hidden sheet and use SUMIF in the specific Excel cells.
But because it should really be a dynamically expanded report we can't work with Excel formulas that should only be in some rows but not in all...

SharePoint 2013 List View with query string filter stops working after editing view from browser

I have created one list definition in which I have added one list view which will filter data from query string paramater
So when I am creating list from my list definition, view with query string filter is working fine.
But when I am modifying view from UI(I am not changing any thing , just opening "Modify View" page and then click on "Save" button), view gets stop working means it's not filtering data based on query string
Any suggestion what I am missing?

The Miscellaneous is located in the contact list that you used for the connection.
So , you need to edit the page, then edit the contact list that you used, in the web part properties of the contact list, you will find Miscellaneous, then expand it and select ‘Server Render’ .

Error while importing a big array with thr property loader

Hello,
the following problems occure: when I want to import a *.txt file with a array of more than arround 3300 members with the property loader, the following error meassage occures:
property loader step failed to import or export properties
x property values were found
x-1 property values were imported from y rows
Error code: -18, user defined error code.
how can I solve this problem?
I think sizes of arrays are limited somewhere in the source code of the property loader. is it possible to increase this size? And how?

Internal Server Error while sending mail with extended property

I am using EWS Managed API. I just started fiddling with Extended properties. So I wrote simple code to send a simple mail with extended property attached to it.
Forming the mail part I simply copy pasted from this
MSDN page. For testing purpose I suppressed certificate validations.

You need to follow steps in below link to model your BMM layer for the report to work with non confirmed dimensions.

Once you have followed these steps you can use the non confirmed dimension in the reports.When you see the logs to see the query generated by obiee,it generated 2 queries 1 with confirmed dimension and other with non conformed dimension.When you filter using non confirmed dimension you will now not notice any error but the results will not be filtering out because the filter will be applied only in 1 query which is valid
Now for this to work what you can do is ,instead of using the filter drag the column you like to filter as a prompt in your view.default it to the value you need using the case statement and hide it.This is one of the work around.
There may be many other work arounds for this but you need to understand that for you requirment to work you need to tweek OBIEE to generate 1 query instead of 2 queries.

ER - Problem with ADF Faces filter when running ADF Faces within a portlet

I am attempting to get ADF Faces to run within Oracle Portal, i.e. within a portlet using the JPDK.
This, I am sure you are about to tell me, is not something that is fully supported, as yet.
However, I have been successful in getting MyFaces to run within a portlet, by customizing the form tag.
MyFaces, it seems, keeps track of the current viewid by storing it in the session, then uses this within the viewhandler and navigationhandler to determine the next view to load, based on the faces-config.xml navigation entries.
By customizing the form tag it is then possible to retrieve this viewid from the faces context and outputting it in the form's action parameter.
It is also possible, with a few more customizations, to run JSF RI within a portlet, i.e. by adding a custom viewhandler and loading a session variable with the current viewid from the faces context, then retrieving the viewid and outputting it as the action string in the customized form tag .
Unfortunately there does not appear to be any way of getting ADF Faces (EA19 version) to run as a portlet, with either the RI or with MyFaces.
I have configured a basic .jspx document in the <showPage> tags of the provider.xml file.
This uses only the form tag and a few input tags and works when executed directly within my portlet project in JDeveloper (http://localhost:8988/TestJSFAppContext/faces/htdocs/facesportlet/index.jspx) using a redirectfilter (*.jspx htdocs -> /faces/htdocs).
It is not possible to run ADF Faces with RI as a portlet since customization of the ADF Faces ViewHandler appears not to be supported.
When attempting to run this with MyFaces as a portlet, however, I get the following message:
oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilterImpl verifyFilterIsInstalled
WARNING: The AdfFacesFilter has not been installed. ADF Faces requires this filter for proper execution.
I am having difficulty in understanding as to why this is happening but am guessing it must be something to do with either redirect URLs or due to the .jspx files being under /htdocs, i.e. the ADF Faces renderkit is checking that the ADF Faces filter is configured but the check fails since the filter does not execute.
I have configured the filter in web.xml, as detailed in the documentation:

As I say, the page loads OK when run directly within the JPDK project within JDeveloper, with a redirect filter (*.jspx -> /faces/*.jspx) but not when run from within Oracle Portal.
In fact I have found that this filter is very sensitive, i.e. ADF Faces will not run in any project unless the configuration is exactly as above.
It seems that the MyFaces team have got around the problem of maintaining session state with redirections but that ADF Faces needs the page URL that is passed in to the filter to be consistent.
Is there some way around this, i.e. some kind of customization that I can implement to get the filter working?

I have found a way to go round the problem.
I use the servlet 2.4/jsp 2.0 route and then
change the web.xml header to the servlet 2.3/jsp 1.2
format. Everything then works fine after this!
Please fix this for production.

Set Synchronize with Item property at runtime in Forms

Hi,
We have a requirement to set the "sychronize with item" property to null for one of the fields of seeded form during run time (this is to avoid modifying the seeded form which has the synchronize property of field A set to field B. We are planning to do this change in CUSTOM.PLL). I couldn't find any property in "APP_ITEM_PROPERTY2.set_property" which can suffice my requirement. I am working on Forms 10g.
Please let me know if anybody has worked on similar requirement.

You can perform this by using:
set_tab_page_property('Tab_page_name', label,'your_desire_label');
and for item set_item_property.

Probably silly and simple questions?
1) If my understanding is correct, a property filter hide/modify existing properties or add virtual properties...but, only temporarily right? i mean.. they are not changed permanently .. it's only for the display!

For information regarding other properties,check the following link

You could get info on repository filters from that link itself.
2.Also filters can only be applied to repositories and cannot be applied to navigation iviews(as you have stated that in your reply).You could view the contents of a repository through navigation iview.
3.I think filters can be applied only for repositories like '/documents' and not to subfolders like '/documents/kumar'.
