Event firing when XML data is imported via Acrobat

When a user in Acrobat imports xml data into a form, what event gets fired? I have a couple of actions that occur on change, but when I import xml into the form (to fill in values, etc), this event doesn't fire. Is it on initialize?

Yea, I dug a little deeper and ended up using the initialize event. What I did was on the initialize event I execute the exit script. So it's the same as the user physically putting the value in. Plus, I dont have to have the same code in two places.
In the initialize event code:
myThingie.execEvent("exit");

I have following application structure nested up to 2/3 level.
Application
     linkbar connected to viewstack
     viewstack
          NavigatorContent
               mxml Component
          NavigatorContent
               mxml Component
mxml componet in turn has similar structure

          NavigatorContent

and end component is form which is shown and actions performed
I want to execute specific code when the form is first time shown
which will collect data from server and will show for further actions.
User will edit/delete/update data with various button clicks.
I tried activate event on end component but it seems that it wont get
fired at all. End components are enclosed in BorderContainer or Group.
To test activate event I have used Alert.show only but popup is not shown
when I select link button on penutimate linkbar.
If I am doing something wrong please let me know as well please
guide me which event shall I use so that whenever linkbutton is
pressed on linkbar it will fire that event. In that event I can check
whether it has been called earlier by checking some variable which
will be null in creation complete and set in event fired when linkbutton is pressed.

I think 'creationComplete' is the closest event to what you are looking for.

Problem in mapping xml data with imported RFC parameters

I am currently working on a senario in which a flat file is generated by an RFID server and placed in FTP server.
The flat file is picked up from the FTP server using XI and the contents are mapped to the corresponding imported RFC parameters.
The content of the file which is in text format is successfully converted in XML at the XI side.
File contains records of 2 fields Functional location and RFID equipment number . In the R/3 side these fields
are used as Functional location and equipment number of PM module .
The structure of the FTP message is as follows

XML data file import

1. I exported data using SQL Developer 3.1 in XML format.
2. I get 'No reader of xml type registered' error when I try to import the same XML data file using SQL Developer 3.1. The 'file open' dialog does have an option to pick XML files and it shows my XML file on the directory.
Do I need to install any extension to be able to import XML data file?

Note: If it allows XML export out-of-the-box, then it should allow import of XML also out-of-the-box.

Color XML Data Not Importing Into FCP

When I finish rendering my clips in color and I send them to FCP, FCP says importing XML data and the progress bar stays at 50% and doesn't move. Anybody have any clue on what to do??

You will have to troubleshoot the round trip for something illegal that you exported from the FCP timeline. A hung return XML indicates that it has corrupted because of an ambiguous instruction that COLOR hasn't been able to understand -- it may not even have anything to do with the media and how its constructed on the timeline.
Unfortunately, the number of things that this could be is a somewhat lengthy list. You didn't encounter any obstacles with strange things happening on the COLOR timeline, apparently. Without the actual FCP timeline and what kinds of things are stacked on it -- impossible to say.
But here's an example of a known behavior: A graphic still (like a Jpg) with a filter or effect applied to it will cause the rest of the media on the remaining timeline to be lost. It just won't come back on the FCP timeline, as opposed to hanging the import. Stuff like that, that doesn't usually get discussed under the "just hit the easy button" workflow.

Using my PC Desktop I am trying to convert a PDF file to excel. When the data is imported to Excel the majority of the data is vertical in the far left colum.

I am trying to import a PDF file from my desktop PC in to Excel using XI Pro. When the data imports in to excel, the majority of the data is vertical along the far left comumn instead of horizonal along the colums such as name, address, etc. I need to be able to import the data in to the horizonal categories so I can categorize the data after it is in excel. I'm sorry to hear that your file didn't convert well for you. Can you please tell me more about the PDF that you're trying to convert? Do you know how it was created? The quality of a conversion depends on the quality of the PDF, and it sounds like the file you have may not include the tagging information that is required to convert that properly into an Excel file. Dynamic Actions not firing when using date picker?

The dynamic actions don't seem to be triggering when selecting a date from the date picker, but trigger just fine when the dates are manually entered. Anyone else have this problem and if so is there a workaround to get it to work from the date picker as well? I am using Application Express 4.0.1.00.03
And how can I report this problem?

I'm already using Change.
If it matters, I have it set to:

Selection Type: Item
Condition: No Condition
My action type is just an alert right now since all I want to do is to see if I can trigger it (as in you have to walk before you can run).

I have just purchased a macbook pro. I downloaded two sd cards, one via lightroom 4 and the other via iPhoto. I can't find the latter card when I try to import via LR4. In fact i can't find it at all unless i open iPhoto. where is it?

I tried to import the SD card via iPhoto into Lightroom 4 but could not find it. I tried to find this "folder"? via other means with no success. however when I open iPhoto, there it is, so it must be on the Hard Drive somwhere??? I am new to Apple having decided to jump ship from Windows. Would be grateful for any help.

iPhoto is a - like Lightroom - Photo Manager. It's a database. Like any db to get data out you have to export it.
File -> Export
and in this case set the Kind to Original.
iPhoto is a $15 app, LR is somewhat more expensive. As they both want to manage the photos there's no good usage scenario where you use both. Pick one horse and ride, essentially.

XML Data Source Import on Start

I have a "time sheet" form that I've created in Livecycle Designer. It's going to interface with software that holds a database in MySQL. My understanding was that LCD doesn't play well, if at all, with MySQL. I wrote a PHP script that converts the entire MySQL database to an XML database.
So on my server I have database.xml.
I have created a data connection to database.xml in the form, so the architecture of the connection is set up. If I open the form in Acrobat Pro, I can manually import data from database.xml, but only from Pro and only if I know where the file is.
Once this is done, I have a drop down menu that these fields are populated into.
So here's the thing, can this form just have a javascript initialize event somewhere that finds the database.xml file, since it's in the same folder, import the values, and populate them where they need to be? Conceptually, it sounds like something that I should, of course, be able to do since it's just duplicating my mouse strokes in Pro, but these security issues and the fact that I want the form to work from Reader, this gets hairy.

This is a very heavy and important database that we will be using, and it doesn't sound like they're very willing to expose this database. Installing it per machine could work in theory but the idea is to have this timecard as a utility that casual employees can pull up and visit on the web, especially if they missed a day of work.
They won't have the first clue how to set up an ODBC connection on their home PC's, nor will they want to.
I do appreciate this clarification though, Paul. It may work for some other projects I'll be doing.
For this reason, unless I can get an ODBC server side, if that even conceptually would work (It's Linux), I'm still thinking I will have one of two options:
1. Find some slick java or formcalc that can pull in values from an XML database derived from the MySQL, which I have mostly ready to go except for said "slick java or formcalc".
2. Link the user to a PHP script that grabs values from the MySQL database, begins to construct the PDF on the fly, and insert the values as necessary.
Any input on this is much appreciated.

REMOVED_FROM_STAGE event firing when it shouldn't...

Wondering if someone has seen this before. I have an application that has a few navigation points on the main timeline. The document class stops the movie at the first frame, and the "home" movieclip's class has Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE and Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE listeners on it. Funny thing is, it is calling the ADDED function as normal, then firing the REMOVED function immediately after. However, when I run it, it doesn't actually remove the movieclip from the stage. It is still there. When I navigate to a different section ("remote" or "assist") and navigate back to "home", it doesn't fire a second time, everything works properly after the first time.
So I guess my question is, what would fire the REMOVED_FROM_STAGE event without actually removing the object from the stage? And why would it only happen once?

No reason in particular, when I created the class, FlashBuilder put it in there (I'm using Flash Pro CS5 + Flash Builder 4). I read that it calls it by default when the class is constructed, so having it in or out didn't really matter. I did comment it out with no luck, but I ended up shifting around the timeline quite a bit today and the problem has gone away. It seemed to only do it when it was in the first frame.

I should have mentioned that I know that the table exists in the database.
The main reason I'm trying to do this is because I'm trying to get the data from the DB2 DB into my Oracle DB. I have been trying the EXP utility, which gives me a different error code:

DB error when refreshing data in WEBI via Universe

MediaPlayback - event fired when file not found?

I want to have a playlist containing mp3 from multiple sites.
I would like to use the MediaPlayback component to play these. If
we try to play an mp3 that is not currently available we'd simply
like to skip to the next mp3. I don't see any event or anyway to
detect if a file was not found.
We'll be using the "complete" event to know when to start the
next mp3. Unfortunately this event it not fired in the scenario
where the file is not available.
Any suggestions (other than using the Sound object directly)?

[Javascript][Fixed-layout] - Is it an event fired when each page of the book is completely loaded ?

everything is in the title.
I want to set a page at the beginning of the book where the reader will have to wait until the book is fully loaded in iBooks.
(A kind of onLoad event but for the whole book)
This will be usefull to prevent lags when reading the fixed-layout epub.

I believe the iBooks app handles this for you.
Are you able to use the DOMContentLoaded event listener like this to solve your problem? There is a function in ibooks.js to initialise all js, you could potentially add your functionality to that once iBooks as done the init. Have a look around line 200.

Needing AdjTrans field in OJDT to get ticked when doing a JE import via DTW

I am importing Journal Entries and am needing to have the Field AdjTrans = Adj Trans (Period 13) ticked, when going through the DIAPI Reference help this field is not listed as well as not being listed in the DTW Template, I have added this to the DTW Template gone to my mapping under "Map Rule" tab, the Source Fields have my AdjTrans because of the DTW Template but can't map it on Target Fields(B1).
This field exists when looking in MSSQL (OJDT,AdjTrans)
Is it possible for me to do an import to tick this field or is it going to have to be done manually?

Hi Kurt Walters,
DTW is based on DI. Only the fields exposed to DI will be available. If you could not find the field, you will have no option to DTW it.
