Event ID 2115 A Bind Data Source in Management Group

Hi All,
I have some issue's with Microsoft System Center Operations manager 2012 R2. The issue is the following:
A Bind Data Source in Management Group XXXXXXX has posted items to the workflow, but has not received a response in 2100 seconds.  This indicates a performance or functional problem with the workflow.
 Workflow Id : Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectPerformanceData
 Instance    : XX.XXX.XXX
 Instance Id : {xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx}
I've restarted all SQL services on the Ops SQL server (separated from the OPS console)
Another issue what we're seeing in the Ops console event log: Workflow Id : Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectAlerts and Workflow Id : Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectDiscoveryData
Can you help me with this issue's?
Kind Regards
Niels Mennen

Please check the following
1) Whether the Operations Manager or Operations Manager Data Warehouse databases are out of space or offline
2) whether your SDK action account is correct especially the password is correct.
Event ID 2115 messages can also indicate a performance problem if the Operations Manager Database and Data Warehouse databases are not properly configured. Performance problems on the database servers can lead to Event ID 2115 messages. Some possible causes
include the following:
•The SQL Log or TempDB database is too small or out of space.
•The Network link from the Operations Manager and Data Warehouse database to the Management Server is bandwidth constrained or the latency is large. In this scenario we recommend to Management Server to be on the same LAN as the Operations Manager and Data
Warehouse server.
•The data disk hosting the Database, logs or TempDB used by the Operations Manager and Data Warehouse databases is slow or experiencing a function problem. In this scenario we recommend leveraging RAID 10 and we also recommend enabling battery backed Write
Cache on the Array Controller.
•The Operations Manager Database or Data Warehouse server does not have sufficient memory or CPU resources.
•The SQL Server instance hosting the Operations Manager Database or Data Warehouse is offline.

  • SmartView 11.1.1.2 Data Source Connection Manager is Disabled.

    I recently did a fresh install of Oracle Hyperion EPM 11.1.1.2 in a Windows 2003 Enterprise Server (64-bit) environment.
    I'm now having problems running Smart View in this environment.
    When I attempt to connect to a cube, from within Excel, the Data Source Manager appears in the right-hand pane, but I can't interact with it. Also, nothing at all appears in the Data Source Manager pane.
    I've duplicated this problem in a Windows 7 RC1 64-bit environment as well (Yes, I know. It's not supported).
    This looks like some sort of Active X issue.
    I am running Office 2007 SP1. However, applying the latest MS Office updates did not alleviate the issue. I also enabled macros and active x controls through the "Trust Center", but that did not help either.
    Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

    Hello all,
    Nice to know misery has lots of company. Having the same problem. I've gotten lots of suggestions and have tried everything short of reinstalling OS. The strange thing is that it was working at initially but my laptop crashed and I reinstalled everything. This problem appeared after the reinstall.
    I'll keep trying and will let you know if the OS reinstall does the trick...
    If anyone else comes up with something better - please post.
    Thanks,

  • Many Many Event ID 2115 from Health service and RMS goes gray

    I have been scowering the net on Event ID 2115 and found all the usually suspects.
    None of these that relate to the accounts and profiles appear to be helping.  The errors i am getting seem to encompass all of the various collections.
    I am not sure where to look any more.
    Daren

    Daren,
    The first step is to see what data items you are getting 2115 Event's for.
    Example
    A Bind Data Source in Management Group <Your MG Name here> has posted items to the workflow, but has not received a response in 61 seconds. This indicates a performance or functional problem with the workflow.
    Workflow Id : Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.CollectEventData
    Instance : <Your Instance name here>
    Instance Id : <Your Instance GUID here>
    The BOLDED items above are what to look at.  The Workflow tells you what type of Data Items (Discovery, Alerts, Event, Perf, State Change, etc) and to what database (OpsDB or OpsDW) are having issues being written to the database.  From this workflow we can determine what database we are writing to.  If the WorkflowId contains DataWarehouse, then its the DW.  Otherwise, is the OpsDB.  The time tells you how long this workflow has been waiting for the items to be written to the DB.  The higher that number, the worse things are.  Seeing one or two 2115's per hour is not bad.  Seeing lots of 2115's with ever-increasing times indicates a serious problem.
    Example Workflow ID's
    Workflow Id : Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectPerformanceData - OpsDB Performance Data
    Workflow Id : Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectDiscoveryData - OpsDB Discovery Data - This only goes to the OpsDB.
    Workflow Id : Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectEventData - OpsDB Event Data
    Workflow Id : Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.CollectEventData - OpsDW Event Data
    If you can report back with what type of 2115 events you are seeing, I can help point you in the right direction for figuring out what to do about them.

    Datasource for the application.
    I have created a sql db for this planning application (my datasource). See my first message for more details.
    When you create a new planning application, you need to associate it with a data source. Since this is a new install, I don't have any data sources available yet.
    So, "To create, edit or delete data sources, click Manage Data Source."
    This page lets you validate your connection to the database and essbase server. My essbase server connection validates! The database connection does not validate after I enter all the relevant information.

  • Connecting through Data Source using JNDI

    Thanks you very very much for your prompt reply and helping me out. I have following questions.
    1) Now i am able to bind data source object to the logical name. But the problem is that whenever i try to look up the data source object by providing logical name (i.e. DataSource ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("jdbc/EmployeeDB") ), it returns always null. I don't know why it doesn't return the correct data source object ?
    Following is the code used to bind datasource with the logical name
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "file:/TEMP/jndi");
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(env);
    //Properties p = new Properties();
    //p.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    // "com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory");
    //Context ctx = new InitialContext(p);
    ctx.bind("jdbc/EmployeeDB", sds);
    Following is the code used to look up for the bound object
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "file:/TEMP/jndi");
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(env);
    DataSource ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("jdbc/EmployeeDB");
    2) I am writing client server application in which my client is going to access the SQL Server 2000 to read/write database related data. The reason behind using the JNDI is that i don't want my client application to kwon which driver (sql) and database i am using. It is going to provide the great flexibility whenever i can make my application to use other database like Oracel, sybase, etc. without changing any code most probably. In this situation, which JNDI service provider to use ? I am not sure about "File System" service provider be the ideal choice for this type of situation. so please let me know which JNDI service provider is the ideal for this situation.
    Any type of help would be appreacited.

  • How  I can to do get a data sources on sun appserver 8  like this?

    jsc GUI develop jsf pages ,I want to get a data sources by Context lookup jndi have binding data sources.
    I know weblogic to get this.
    such as :
    Context ctx = null;
    Properties p = new Properties();
    p.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    p.put( Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001" );
    p.put("java.naming.security.principal", user);
    p.put("java.naming.security.credentials", pwd);
    ctx = new InitialContext(p);
    ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup( "myds" );
    do you tell me sun appserver 8 how to implements this?thx.

    HI
    I am not clear what you are looking for but let me try to give you something. Yes it is possible to get DataSources on apserver 8 by registering JDBC Connection Pool and JDBC DataSource in the admin gui. You can use the regisred datasource in your code like this
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    dataSource ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup( "jdbc/myds" );
    OR
    if you are looking for the Creator do all these, here is the way.
    Create a datasource in the server navigator to point to any of your database. Drag and drop a table to any of your pages in the application (This is not neccessary if any of your application pages have a rowset/datatable already).
    Deploy the application then the datasource will be registered into application server 8. You can use the same code now to access the datasource
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    dataSource ds = (DataSource)ctx.lookup( "jdbc/myds" );
    Please let me know if you are not looking for above .
    Thanks

  • 903/902/BC4J can't get data-sources.xml conn pooling to work in production; help

    I have several BC4J ears deployed to a 903 instance of OC4J being configured as a standalone
    instance. I've had this problem since I started deploying in development on 902. So it's
    some basic problem that I've not mastered.
    I can't get data-sources.xml managed connection pooling to actually pool conn's. I'm wanting
    to declare my jndi jdbc source connection pool in j2ee/home/config/data-sources.xml.
    Have all BC4J apps get conns from this JNDI JDBC pool. I've removed all data-sources.xml from my BC4J ears,
    and published the jndi jdbc source in my oc4j common data-sources.xml. I've tested that this is
    the place controlling the conn URL/login passwd by commenting it out of config/data-sources.xml
    and my BC4J apps then throw exceptions, can't get conn.
    I've set the oc4j startup cmd line with the BC4J property to enabled connection pooling:
    -Djbo.doconnectionpooling=true
    symptom
    Connections are created and closed. Instead of being put back into the pool managed by oc4j,
    what ever BC4J is doing or my data-sources.xml is doing, the connections are just being created and
    closed.
    I can verify this via (solaris) lsof and netstat, where I see my oc4j instance under test load
    with only 1 or 2 conns to the db box, and the ephemeral port is tumbling, meaning a new socket is
    being opened for each conn. ;( grrrrrrr
    Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening?
    Thanks, curt

    I've run another test using local data-source.xml, that's packaged in the .ear. Still
    pooling under BC4J doesn't work??
    A piece of info is that the 903 oc4j release notes states that global conn pooling doesn't
    work. Infering that the j2ee/home/config/data-sources.xml data sources aren't pooled or ??
    I just tested so called local connection pooling, where I edited the data-sources.xml that
    gets packaged in the ear, to include the min/max params and re-ran my test.
    Still, the AM creates a new conn, it's to a new socket, and closes the conn when done. Causing
    each conn to not be pooled, rather opened then closed to the DB box. As verified with lsof and
    netstat, checking the ephemeral port # on the DB box side, always changes, meaning it's a
    new socket and not an old pooled conn socket.
    ???? What the heck??
    Surely if the AM conn check out / return code works properly, OC4J's pooling JDBC driver would
    pool and not close the socket??
    Has anywone gotten JDBC Datasource connections in BC4J to actually be pooled under OC4J??
    Since I couldn't get this to work in my early 902 oc4j testing, and now can't get it to work
    still under 903 OC4J, either it's my config or BC4J AM's code or OC4J?
    Any thoughts on how to figure out what's not configed correctly or has a bug?

  • How to access a field of an data source w/o binding a form field to it

    Hi
      This is a query regarding ADOBE print form.
      How to access a record field (of an data source.... typical multi row records) where the record is bound to a subform.
    Data is something like
    (I have used abap parlance for understanding)
    data : begin of data_tab occurs 0,
      field1 type .....,
    field2 type .....,
    fieldm type .....,
    fieldn type .....,
    end of data_tab.
    Subform is bound to
    $.DATA_TAB.DATA[*]
    How to access field1, field2,...... etc without creating subform fields and binding them to field1, field2, .... fieldn.
    I know normal approach is to define subform fields and then bind it to $.field1, $.field2 etc
    In the calculate event of a field bound to $.fieldm I have tried the following expressions to get the value of column fieldn of the same record but none of them worked.... Note that if I bind the field using $.fieldn data is displayed properly in the print form.
    $record.data_tab.fieldn.value
    $record.data_tab.data[*].fieldn.value
    $record.data_tab.data.fieldn.value
    $record.data_tab.fieldn.value
    Otherwise I would have to define hidden fields just to use these column values in the event script even though these value are not to be displayed in the ADOBE print form.
    Regards
    Abapper

    I can't remember the exact sentence, but do a little search, as that is a common question in this forum....
    How about:
    $record.data_tab.data[1].fieldn.value
    $record.data_tab.data[2].fieldn.value
    $record.data_tab.data[2].fieldn.value
    $record.data_tab.data[N].fieldn.value
    Cheers.

  • Binding with more than one data sources

    So i have this table bound to a data source (call it A) and in it i have BID(Books ID) and UID (User ID). I don't want the table to show these numbers, i want it to show the name of the book coresponding to BID (and this name is in another table) and the name of the user coresponding to UID (this is also in another table). So, for this i have modified the SQL statement and added WHERE clauses and it all worked fine. Up to a point at least. After that, whenever i tried to make changes to A and the tables where the book names and user names are, i got a "Number of conflicts while synchronizing:" error. So i was thinking perhaps there is another way to bind the BID and UID to those specific names without the help of an SQL statement. Can anyone help?

    Any possibilty of posting your SQL code? And which database are you using?

  • Binding a component to more than one data source in Design Studio 1.3

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to bind more than one data source to a component in Design Studio 1.3?
    I have 2 Bex queries- one having the current year data(say 06.2013-05.2014) and the other having the previous year data(say 06.2012-05.2013).
    I want to create a column chart with x axis labels as 06,07,08.............01,02,03,04,05.
    The 05 will show 2 columns for 05.2014 and 05.2013
    The 04 will show 2 columns for 04.2014 and 04.2013
    and so on
    The 06 will show 2 columns for 06.2013 and 05.2012.
    Can this be achieved in Design Studio if only one data source is possible for a column chart?
    Thanks in advance for your responses,
    Sarah

    I don't see where this is possible out of the box as the properties for the chart show only one data source
    Is the data coming from one InfoProvider?  If so could you create one query that shows current year and with a BEx variable/offset show prior year?
