Eventing in Portal page between Team Viewer and Custom Webdynpro for ABAP

We are trying to implement a new Portal page that contains a Team Viewer Iview and a custom Webdynpro for ABAP iview.
The idea is that the when a manager select one of his direct report in the Team Viewer, the custom Webdynpro for ABAP would pick up the selection_changed event and retrieve the data for the selected employee.
We followed the instruction provided by SAP in note 1112733 and it worked in our development environment. When we moved the iviews to our testing environment it stopped working.
I also used the Diagnostic Iviews provided by SAP and I get the same result: Works in Dev, does not work in QA or in Prod.
We also followed the troubleshooting steps of note 945516 and it still did not help us. We can not find a difference in our system set up.
We are therefore looking for pointers as to what could be our problem.
Thanks!

Problem was solved internally:
The reasons the eventing worked in Dev and not in QA or Prod, was that we had a different level of patch for ESS/MSS between instances, which I was not aware of.
Dev was on ESS/MSS version 600 SP14 and QA and Prod was on a different level. Once we implemented ESS/MSS SP 14 accross the board, everything was good.

  • Eventing between team viewer and BSP application

    Hi Everyone,
Basically, I have a standard BSP application (HCM_LEARNING) on ECC5.0. I need to make it communicate with MSS team viewer.
HCm_learning is a big BSP application from SAP which enables self booking for course, training history data, courses attended, can view courses offered, prebooking, participation history, qualifications achieved, qualifications missing etc.  It is a master piece BSP from SAP.  It brings the data from the backend system through pernr.
in portal, a manager should see the qualifications of an employee and book courses for him if he misses particular qualifications. hcm_learning is a self booking application; if it communicates with team viewer: that is great. manager can pick a person (name) from team viewer and from there he can take of all the activities 'hcm_learning' does for an employee.
I have spend lot of time watching all the blogs, threads.. searching for this scenario. can not get right information.
    is this scenario possible.
could any body tell me where i should look at for documentation. could you give me suggestions on this.
    THanks!
    Siribabu

    Hi Siribabu,
Did you ever find an answer to this?
    Thanks
    Jane

  • Add a simple switch to PDF Reader to change between MY-VIEW and ORIGINAL-VIEW

I would like to open pdf file with my same default viewing preference *every single time* that I open a PDF file, regardless of what the original document creator set as the default view.  It would be nice to have a SIMPLE switch between MY-VIEW and ORIGINAL-VIEW.  It's very frustrating to have to keep switching my view preferences every time I open a new file with a different default.

Thank you Bernd, but that is only part of the solution.  For example, I do set the Page Layout to 1-page-continuous.  MOST of the time it keeps this setting, but some documents either override that setting, or perhaps it reverts back to a default (maybe with version upgrades?).  The other part is that I always want the menu-bar and toolbar to show up.  Some documents hide these when they open.  I realize that I can hit [F8] and/or [F9] to toggle these, but there are additional settings.  I also want to always have the selection tools available, etc.  Bottom Line: I just want a collection of settings that I can call up with a single, simple shortcut or button, so I don't have to perform multiple steps just to get the tool back to my standard configuration whenever something changes it.

  • Trouble viewing pages in live view and preview in browser

I am currently using Dreamweaver CS4 on windows XP. I was able to view all my pages in live view and I was able to preview them in Firefox and Internet Explorer. I changed a CSS setting on the page, and when I went to view it nothing showed up. I only got a white screen. I undid everything that I did, try to preview it again and it still wouldn't show up. I tried to preview other files, some show up other don't. I've tried to rename the file, put it in another folder, restarted Dreamweaver and restarted the computer. Nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated.

    Sorry here is the code.

  • Choosing between Team Site and Publishing Site

Does publishing site has all the features of a Team site?

It depends on your requirements when it comes to choosing Team site and publishing site, you will use team site for collaboration and publishing site for managing pages. publishing sites are particularly aimed to internet facing sites. You can check below
    articles for more details.

  • Wrong position of objects / difference between editor view and browser view.

    Dear Adobe
System info: Mac OS X 10.9, Muse 7.1 Build 329, Chrome, Safari and Firefox in the newest versions.
I use Muse since version 5 and this effect does exist 'til today (v7.1) without any changes.
Many times i have differences in the position of placed objects. But this missbehaviour is not realy logical. For example take a look to this illustration:
Left: Muse Editor, right: Browser (in this case its chrome, but the effect is identical in safari and firefox too)
Left you see one pixel space between the blue bar and the shadow (image-object). In the browser is the space bigger (2px). When i move the shadow-object in muse one pixel higher, then look this so:
The shadow is now within the bluebar. The position has changed in muse for 1 pixel, in browser around 7 pixels... i don't see, why.
    Another example:
Left Muse Editor, right Browser... do you see the dramatic difference between?
I hope, this problem can be solved with a future version...
    Best regards
    Michael

This variation is due to the difference in the layout of text between Design view and Preview, which is representative of the variations that exist between browsers, OSes, devices and individual versions of each of those.
It's impossible to reverse engineer the structure of the objects from the screenshots, but how the objects or individual sized and positioned relative to one another is key to understanding (and explaining) what you're encountering.
If you provide the URL for this page I'll attempt take a look at it and provide some guidance for how to achieve the effect you're looking for within the constraints inherent in working with live text on the web.
(In case you're not already aware, you can Publish to a free trial site on Adobe Business Catalyst at any time using the Publish button. Using trial sites on BC is very convenient, even if you don't plan to host the finished site on BC.)

  • What is the diffrence between SAP View and CAD View ?

What is the diffrence between SAP View and CAD View ?
What is the main purpose of SAP View
    and
What is the main purpose of CAD View
    On SAP help i found
SAP View is used for :The SAP view displays the SAP structure (document-based structure) for the active CAD object, or another document info record (header document), with a single-level or multilevel document structure in a tree structure. You can variably configure the fields using the layout editor.
CAD View is used for :The CAD view displays the document-based structure of the currently active CAD object, such as the structure of an assembly. The CAD system determines the complete (multilevel) structure and copies it either completely or in stages to the SAP system, in accordance with the default explosion level.
BUT I did not understand it well
Can someone explain this with an example
    THanks
    Raj

    Hello Raj,
SAP View  can be further described as the view that is based on what is existing already in the SAP system. This view is generally used by SAP purchasing, MM people etc
CAD view is nothing but the replication of the model tree view in the SAP system. This is used by the design engineer and this view replicates only the parts that are actively displayed on the CAD tool window.
hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions else please close the message.
    regards

  • How can i create a simple netweaver portal page that shows text and images?

    Hi,
i have a simple question or maybe it's not so simple.
I am completly new to SAP Netweaver 2004s Portal. At the moment i'm trying to understand the struture of the whole thing. I already know how to create roles, worksets and pages and i know how to combine the different elements so a user can acces them.
And now i want to create a simple portal page that shows text and images. Is it possible to create such a simple page with the portal content studio? What iView do i have to use?
(I just want to create a start page with a welcome text on it.)

    Marc
Considering that you would any ways go ahead with complex development from this simple start page I recommend create a Web dynpro Iview for your start page (include the Iview in your page).
For putting the contents use Netweaver Developer studio to build a simple start page application and put your static text on that Iview.
Please go through the following log after your NWDS development is over - This will make you comfortable for further challenging work.

  • Pages disappear when viewing and printing

On our Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1) 64-bit computer, using the Reader application directly (not through a browser), we have been frustrated with blank pages appearing while viewing and printing.
This happens in Adobe Reader 9.5.0, 9.5.3, and 11.0.06.  (We had been experiencing these problems with 9.5.3, so uninstalled and installed 9.5.0, then updated to 11.0.06.  Same problem appears in all versions, but now is exceptionally bad in 11.0.06.   At one time we had updated to Reader 10, but reverted to Reader 9 because Reader 10 would not center pages correctly when printed, especially when Fit to Page was used.)
When we open a file, pages initially display correctly.  But when we begin to scroll back and forth from page to page, the page images start disappearing. When we print, pages may display correctly just before the print button is pressed, and then may disappear after pressing the print button. If it disappears before the print function has completed, blank pages are output.   If a multi page document, the first few pages may print correctly then blank pages.
Once a page goes blank while viewing or printing, it does not restore.  One must close the PDF file and open it again.
We have over 200 documents of 30 to 50 pages each, which are printed on a frequent basis and then bound.  It is extremely annoying and costly to have blank pages output when there should be info on the page.    We have been printing these documents for eight years.  Two years ago started using a brand new Windows 7 computer for printing PDF files, but the blank page issue started surfacing about 6 to 9 months ago and is getting more frequent.

The system has 4GB of memory.  The processor is Intel Core i5 - 2400.
As per your suggestion, I updated the driver for the integrated graphics
card (Intel Graphics HD 2000).  The new driver is dated January 2014.  The
old driver was dated June 2011.
I tried to replicate the blank pages situation, and none went blank.   Will
continue to test over the next week or so, but this looks very promising.
    Many, many thanks, Pat!

  • UFT 11.53 - toggle between keyword view and editor not working

    Hello,
I have installed the enterprise version of UFT 11.53.  I have patched it with Patch # 3 (00082) and Patch # 4 (00106) in order to get Chome v 37 support.  Now when I try to toggle between keyword View and editor, it is not working.  The editor is fine.  The Keyword just set frozen and will not allow me to do anything other than, change it back to the editor
see when I click the toggle button...its frozen...see the toggle button is down.
It's so annoying.  I'm going to have to uninstall it again.
Please help, if you know what's going on

    HI
An entire table can be included in a database view. In this case all the fields of the included table will become fields of the view (whereby you can explicitly exclude certain fields). If new fields are included in the table or existing fields are deleted, the view is automatically adjusted to this change.

  • Difference between Database view and Table

    Hi there,
Can anyone tell me the difference between Database view and Table.
Will the Database view query be more faster than a database table?

Tables and database views can be defined in the ABAP Dictionary.
These objects are created in the underlying database with this definition. Changes in the definition of a table or database view are also automatically made in the database.
Data from several tables can be combined in a meaningful way using a view (join).
You can also hide information that is of no interest to you (projection) or only display
those data records that satisfy certain conditions (selection).
Database views implement an inner join. You only get those records which have an
entry in all the tables included in the view.
in views db modifications are not possible
views only contain data at run time
    when they consult the database
in case of views the join definitions are already sstored in the database itself
whereas join as open sql is a query to oracle  database as similar select statements
Views are optimized by SAP and stored in the repository while Joins
are in reports that needs to be compiled at every execution
    Reward if helps

  • Diffrance between saved views and workbooks

    Hello Friends,
    Good Morning ..
Could any one please tell me what is the diff between saved view and Workbooks. .?
It will be nice help for me.
    Thanks .

    Hi Jain,
Do not know if your question is already answered.  Let me give you my thoughts on this subject ... start with what is a query.
A query definition is saved on the server. Never anywhere else.
Although people say a workbook contains a query (or several queries); it does not. It contains a reference to a query. The workbook can be saved on the server; or anywhere else that you might save an Excel workbook.
What happens if someone changes the query definition on the server? Answer: the next time you refresh the query in the Excel workbook, the new query definition replaces the old query definition in the workbook. Maybe. It depends on what change was made.
For example, if someone added a Condition to the query definition, the workbook will be virtually invisible to this. The Condition is available; but, is not implemented in the workbook. (Until the user of the workbook manually adds the view of the Condition and then activates it.)
For example, if someone changed the definition of a KF in the query definition, the revised KF will show up in place of the old KF in the workbook.
But ... if, for example, someone deleted the old KF and added a new KF, we get a different story. Now the old KF no longer appears (it does not exist); but, the new KF does not appear (it was not marked to be visible in the workbook).
About workbooks as views ... OK, a workbook may very well have a certain "view" of the query (drilldown, filters, et cetera). And, if the workbook is saved to the server in a Role where everyone can access it, this is good. But, if the workbook is saved to one's favorites, then this "view" is only accessible to that individual. Which may be good. Or may not.
A "saved view", on the other hand is stored on the server. So, it is available to all.
If you navigate in a workbook you can back up. You can back up, though, only as far as you navigated in the current session. You cannot back up to where you were in the middle of last week's session. Unless you saved that navigation state as a "saved view". Then, you can jump to that view at any time.
The downside of saved views is that they are easy for anyone to set up and difficult for most to delete.
