Events from C# Control ? Urgent !!

Hi all,
Is there any way to handle events from a C# customcontrol in ABAP?
When I used ActiveX controls, it was easy - just check by EventID in DISPATCH, and RAISE EVENT that would then be handled...
But now, with C# controls, events are "delegate" functions, and I just can't figure out how to make ABAP subscribe to this tricky kind of event...
    Please, help!!!
Thanks,
Arnaldo.

This article will explain how to declare and use the C# events in your application as Event Control. You can design your event control in couple of mints, making your event as control will be easy for GUI developers to implement events in client side.
Here are the steps:
Create one Windows Application Project
Add “Component Class” using "Add New Item". This is going to be your Event Control.
Declare your delegate in your Event Control under your namespace
Now declare your event inside your Event Control class.
Also add the FireTheEvent method to fire the event.
Build the project.
Go to Form, then ToolBox, add the Event Control using “Add/Remove Items” menu by right clicking on the tool box.
Drag and drop the new control. Using the property window of the control you can easily implement the Event method in your application.
Call The FireTheEvent method in your button click after adding new button to your form.
Run the application and click on your button, you should see your Event firing.
Here's a list of all the events for the DataGrid control:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpref/html/frlrfSystemWebUIWebControlsDataGridEventsTopic.asp.
After referring to the DataGrid Event Handler (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/cpref/html/frlrfsystemwebuiwebcontrolsdatagriditemeventhandlerclasstopic.asp) information, I think you'll want your code to look something like this:
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="True" %>
<%@ Import Namespace="System.Data" %>
<script language="C#" runat="server">
void Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)
// Set things up...
void Item_Data_Bound(Object sender, DataGridItemEventArgs e)
// Your event code
</script>

  • Creating a dynamic event from a control reference

Does anyone have an example of creating a dynamically driven  event from a control reference?

    Hi 4BoysDad,
There is a good example that can achieve what you're looking for in the example finder.  It is called "Dynamically Register For Events.vi".  It will be under
    <labview>\examples\general\dynamicevents.llb\Dynamically Register for Events.vi

  • Generating events from a control inside an array of clusters

Hi, I have a question regarding UI events. I would like to capture a mouse down event generated in a string control inside of an array. Each element of the array is a cluster that has a Boolean control, a numeric control and a string control. When I try to add an event to handle the mouse down the only option available in the event structure is the one available for the entire array. If this is not possible to map event from the individual controls inside of the each cluster that are part of the array, could you provide with an alternate way of "knowing" when the string control is selected. The application has a touch screen without a keyboard and mouse. I need to display the touch screen graphic keyboard when the textbox is selected.
    Thanks,
    Diego F.

I'm not sure, but I think your only option may be to do some calculations. The mouse down on the array will give the coordinates of the click in VI coords. You can get the coords and size of the cluster and the coords and size of the string using their property nodes. Then, you have to calculate whether the click was on one of the visible strings using addition, subtraction and quotients. Once you make a subVI out of this, it should be easy to use.
You should watch out for the index display and the label, as they change the values of the coords. I'm sorry, I can't think of any easier way to do this.
Correction - I just thought of one. If you use the KeyFocus property on the string inside the mouse down event, it seems to work. I'm not sure whether this will work when bringing the keyboard to the front, which is why I left the other suggestion in place. Here's my test (7.0)
Try to take over the world!

  • It seems that NI dropped the Activex Events from the Control Panel in LabVIEW 7.0. Why???

I have Labview 6.0/6.1 Activex vi's that no longer work in LabView 7.0 There are no longer ActiveX Events vi's in the Communications->ActiveX control set. What is the deal with that??? Pretty much makes my $2400 upgrade investment worth nothing as far as I can see.

    kup,
Are you sure that your VIs no longer work? They should. The support VIs are located in "vi.lib\Platform\ax-events.llb". The functionality was not taken away, the VIs were simply removed from the function palette. Also, ActiveX Events may now also be handled using calback VIs. This is much better, IMO. Seach the examples for "ActiveX" and "callback".

  • Capturing events from a bluetooth remote control

I purchased a Fujitsu Remote Control RC900 and installed it on my Windows 7 computer.
Now I try to capture the remote control key events in a Java application.
I can catch some events as keyboard events (such as "Enter" or arrow keys) but for many keys I have not found a way to catch any event.
Still, some media applications can recognize the events.
I also tried listening mouse events with this swing tutorial class
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/examples/events/MouseEventDemoProject/src/events/MouseEventDemo.java
    But no success. Any ideas?
Is there any remote control event framework for Java, apart from keyboard or mouse events?

In short - never listen to low-level events from editorComponents (low-level meaning everything below - and most of the time including - a editingStopped/editingCancelled of the cellEditor). Your problem belongs to the model realm - save if a cell value is changed - so solve it in the model realm by listening to event from the tableModel and trigger your business logic when you detect a change in that particular cell value.

  • Can't pass event from WebDynPro to JspDynPage - why?

I Created JSP project and embedded in main page script (in its title),
which subscribes to event by EPCM API,
    EPCM.subscribeEvent("urn:ru.intertech.common.wd.component", "save",   go);
and created WebDynPro page that fires event using, when pressing on some bution:
    WDPortalEventing.fire("urn:ru.intertech.common.wd.component", "save", navUrl);
but first code newer receives that event...
    why so ?
for test reason I tested firing EPCM event on same JSP page,
    and it was received,
    also
I tested receiving Portal event  "urn:com.sapportals:navigation", "Navigate"
it was received on same JSP page.
both iViews is not URL isolated according their properties.
    WebDynPro package is:
    package ru.intertech.common.wd.component;
    note from else people expirence:
Does it important that receiving and firing side must be in same package? as written there:

"The problem was that I created the Sender Application in package "com.sender" and the Receiver Application in "com.receiver".
I created them in the same package and it works."
What means domain for JSP page or WspDynPro component?
    Does it important?

    your reply is worth.
what is the domains for views on one page?
    where to see it?
Also, standard SAP MDM controls which we are using not working under any other browser except IE,
I tested on FF and Google Chrome, they do not erform dynamic part of the controls.
Despite this, debugging of scripts is important thing, so every piece is worth.
    One more detail:
Also, two such a controls do not receive events from each other,
    but ony within self..
    why so ?

  • Archive old Google Calendar events from iCal 4?

I have 8 Google calendars filled with events going back years. It's too big and I want to thin it out by archiving all events older than two years. I'll do it manually, but I can't find a way that works. I haven't found any way within Google to do it and to do it manually from within Google, you have to select each event separately. Too much work.
To do it for a Mobile Me calendar, I can just:
    - Create a corresponding archive calendar (ie, Archive Personal for my Personal calendar) that is On My Mac
    - Select only one calendar to view (Personal)
    - List all events by typing a period in the search bar
    - Select all events in the list that I want to move
    - Right click or control click one of those selected events in the calendar (not the list) and choose the calendar Archive Personal to move it to
For the Mobile Me calendar, the events are moved to the Archive Personal calendar and removed from the Mobile Me calendar. Perfect.
When I try that with a Google calendar, it all seems to work in iCal, but the event remains on the Google calendar. No good.
    I tried another way...
    - I exported one of the calendars from Google into an Archive calendar On My Mac
    - I was planning to delete everything after a certain date on the Archive calendar and delete everything before a certain date on the Google calendar, but when you search for all of the events in the Archive calendar On My Mac, it shows duplicates of every event. Somehow it's showing the Google calendar events as well as the archive calendar events even though the archive is the only calendar selected. The search should only result in events from that calendar!
Also, searching for a list of all events in a calendar in iCal 4.04 doesn't work too well. Once you move events, the update of the list is spotty. To really see what is left in the calendar, you need to quit iCal and restart it and do the search over again. Hopefully that's fixed in the Lion version!
If anyone can think of a solution to accomplish this — any better way to archive off old events from a Google calendar, I would appreciate it!

I just started using MobileMe yesterday and have a similar issue. The only past events in my iPhone are recurring events like birthdays. None of my old one-time events synced to the iPhone. Fortunately, they're all still in iCal (local and online). Does anyone have tips on how to get all events, past, present, and future on the iPhone?

  • Coalescing events from multiple components in a JPanel

    Hi,
I've got a JPanel based form with several components (mostly JTextField) and I'd like to be able to have component events bubble up to the parent JPanel. By comparison to MFC, if I have a dialog box with several controls all of the control events will continue to percolate upwards until they are handled. Is there any such possibility with Swing?
Ideally I would like it if all component events were routed to a single listener in the parent JPanel, all I really need to do (initially) is set a boolean to note that a change may have been made. Do I have to explicitly set a handler for each component or is there way to automagically have the parent to catch the events from its child components?
    Thanks!
    jam

Thanks jvaudry, this is kinda what I suspected. It seems somewhat cumbersome to have to set up a listener for each of the many JTextField's in my form but definitely wrapping all of that up in a class is a good way to go. I'm pretty new to Swing and usually when something seems harder than it should it's a sure sign that I just don't know how to do it right :)
I may try an altogether different approach just for curiousity's sake. I'm thinking of adding a method to the parent JPanel that will iterate all of its text fields and create a checksum of their combined contents. The idea is that I will compute the checksum once after populating the form and then later to see if any of the fields have changed. A simple notion that may not turn out to be so simple once I get to coding, but it's worth a try.
    Thanks!

  • HT5029 Is there a way to copy an event from a subscribed (non-iCloud) calendar to an iCloud calendar?

Is there a way to copy an event from a public, subscribed calendar to a private calendar? I've tried the "Copy" entry as well as the calendar selection list, but neither work for me for non-iCloud subscribed calendars. It seems like I should be able to copy and event from one calendar into another.

    Hi,
    It works here.
Control-Click the event and select 'copy'. Click on the calendar you want to paste the event to, so it is highlighted with a grey background. Then select 'paste'.
    Best wishes

  • Issue : drag and drop from list control to tree control

    Hi,
I was trying a drag and drop from list control to tree control. I have used some sample data to populate list and tree controls .
It is working fine . except one problem ..

    stop dnd in same tree
drop some item into a folder ..( onto it ) etc
have achieved the same .. but this issue ..
i think the tree dataprovider (contents internally is not being updated .. only the UI)

  • Automatic Workflow Customizing - Check entries from HR Control Tables

    Hi All
I am preparing the R/3 system before a ESS MSS implementation.
When I execute Transaction SWU3 I have a few red cross marks. Few of those are because the Gateway addresses are not specified and Webserver path is not specified.
The bit that I am worried about is
Check entries from HR Control Tables
    SAP Documentation says
*To solve problems of this type, use the report RHTTCP77.
If there are errors regarding the transport objects PDST or PDWS, the relevant entries are not maintained in table SOBJ. You can use the report RHSOBJCH to rectify this later.*
I want to know the implications of correcting the entries with the report RHSOBJCH. Will it affect the configuration which has been done on the system for the business processes?
    When I fire off
    Consistency Check for Event Linkages
there are a whole bunch of errors which are thrown. Can I Activate/Deactivate the linkages
Wanted to make sure that there will be no knock on effects. Do I need to consider something else regarding these issues?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Sriram,
I have also faced a similar issue.
Running the mentioned reports did not cause any problem for my case.
Only after running the reports and generating the task was I able to remove the red cross mark.
    Regards,

  • Listening to Events from inside loaded swf

In Flash Builder 4 I have a swfLoader with which I load swf files. The swf files that get loaded get created in Flash Pro, and I would like to be able to listen for events from the level that they get loaded from. What would I have to specify in the Flash file for the path? Can't seem to be able to specify the right path.
Thanks a lot for any help!

I wouldnt say this is elegant but we have been having issues gaining direct access to the SWF's loaded in via OSMF. However I have done setups where I dispatch an event from a SWF and have it bubble up and catch it on the MediaContainer level. Not elegant but works- otherwise may need to make a custom MediaElement and bypass the SWFElement to gain tighter control - seems like there should be a better way, but I havnt found it.

  • Triggering events from event queue

Can anyone tell me if events triggered FROM the event queue execute immediatly before returning to the place where the trigger occured (as it seems to when I follow the code in the debugger).
for example in my code I am:
    1) capturing a tab change event so I'm on the AWT event queue.
    2) calling stopcellediting() on a table which eventually triggers a losefocus event on a control within the table.
    3) the program flow seems to go straight to the focuslost event before returning to process the rest of tab change event.
is this behaviour reliable? or is it just a timing coincidence?
    thanks in advance.

    This behaviour is reliable.
All the code that executes these events is performed in the same thread, so it has no means to do something in parallel.
SwingUtilities.invokeLater method does provide an ability to postpone execution of some code but inside Swing package it is used mainly for paint related tasks (for example the painting of the focus change will most likely occur only after the rest of tab change event processing will be executed).

  • I've created a new event from flagged photos how do I move it to all events?

I've created a new event from flagged photos how do I move it to all events?

What do you see at the top of the window when you Control-click and select Show Event?  Do you get this window?
Is there any title at the top? This is what I get:
    Are you not seeing this?

  • Catching Events from Com side using ActiveX bridge

    Hi,
I have packaged a java swing application into an activex control using the ActiveX bridge. I now need to be able to fire events from my java code which the com/VB code needs to be able to trap. The event handler on the com side looks like this: function(BSTR param1, BSTR param2, BSTR param3), but the java event model only allows passing the EventObject in the param for the introspector to work. How do I fire an activex event that the com client is able to trap??

Thanks, beders. Your solutions above works, although I found the only way to install the SDK was to the use following URL rather then the one beders suggested:
    http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate/XPSP2FULLInstall.htm
This SDK is the full one and not just the Core SDK so may take a little longer to download.
You also need to ensure that the location to cmd.exe (ie. C:\WINDOWS\system32) is on the path variable otherwise SetEnv.bat fails when it calls cmd.
