Every day a kernel panic
Hello. Our new iMac is having kernel panics almost every day. It has its RAM upgraded to 2 Gb. I suspect that is the cause of the panics.
Here is the log of the crash. Has anybody an idea what it could mean?
Thank you!

Lot's of Kernel Panics Need Help
Hello every one,
I have the late 2008 Macbook pro (2,8ghz), And I have almost every day a Kernel Panic, first I want to say that I have checked the Hardware with the Cd nothing is wrong, and also I have repair all the autorisations.
Apparently the kernel panics always Occur while using eyetv (eyetv diversity with eyetv 3.0.4 ). It occur almost at any moment, sometimes even when I am not in from of my computer...
But I have been using Eyetv for years on my older computer, and I never had a kernel panic...
Am I the only one? Do you suffer from the same problem?
Do you have any idea for me to stop the kernel panic to occur?
Thank You!
If this can help you here are the 2 last Kernel panic Log I had.

Background:
Coputer worked fine in Mac OSX 10.4.3
Problems:
After updating to 10.4.5... and reinstalling the system 5-6 times from scratch I have been getting kernel panics, spinning wheels and restart dialogs on startup intermittent.
The latest panic:
Panic (cpu 0 caller 0x002E0368) Unable to find driver for this platform PowerMac 8,1.
Kernel Version 8.5.0
There have been all sorts of kernel panics but I don't get a panic log since system seems to panic in such an early stage.
This has been done, more than once:
- Disconnected everything
- Reformatted HD and reinstalled from original CD
- Downloaded combo updates from Apple website and installed them after repairing disc and permissions first.
- Starts fine
- Repaired permissions again, after restart.
- installed one app at a time (latest updates on every app), allways restarting to see if everything still is fine, which it is.
- Reconnecting external drive, burner, printer etc. allways checking if everything is fine by doing a reboot. It is.
Computer seems happy, and so am I...
Next morning, a kernel panic, or a reboot dialog or spinning wheel at startup. I reboot, cross my fingers, and it starts up first, second or third try. No panic log other than the screen on startup.
- I reinstall combo update, restart and do a command-alt-P-R on the #&%?! and everything is fine... untill next day.
- I run Apple Diagnostic and there is a problem with one of the memory cards. I try it again and again looping. Now no problems found?! So I rum Memtest and still no problems found.
- I do this over and over againg to the point of physical illness.
- I reboot from my external drive with 10.4.3 without any problems whatsoever.
- Go back to 10.4.5 and the problems start again.
- I remove Apple caches, Extension caches, ATS and all that. Boots fine... untill next day?!
The most irritating thing is that once the computer boots up there are no apparent problems whatsoever using it.
I have read every post on kernel panics here, at apple website and at The X Lab. Tried - in my opinion - everything without getting to the bottom of it.
What did I forget?
What havent I tried?
I want my trusted Mac back!
Very thankful for any help whatsoever.
P.s. Since the computer works fine in 10.4.3 I don't see the point of taking it to service. It has to bee software related, no?

I have 2 1GB DIMMs installed from the shop when I bought my iMac. I read http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86814 about iMac Memory Specs and if I understand it correctly I could remove one of the DIMMs to test if the problem goes away. Although the computer will run better with two DIMMs it will work with one slot empty as well.
Did I understand that correctly?

OS X keeps crashing/kernel panics
In the last week I have noticed a sudden increase (from like 'never' to daily/every other day) in kernel panics/OS X crashes. The only things I have done in that time frame has been updating iTunes and Safari. I'm usually using one or the other when everything will just freeze on me and force me to do a hard reboot with the power button. Last night I started back up in verbose mode and had another kernel panic during that process. When I finally do get back in to OS X, the error reporter is called up and lets me know that "OS X was restarted after it quit, etc...". Here is the latest error report:

This is driving me nuts. Anyone have any ideas?Hi Justin Mack;
I think I see something in your kernel panic dump. At the bottom it says, "BSD process name corresponding to current thread: fsck_hfs" which would seem to indicate that OS X was attempting to check you hard drive. Then a couple lines before that it says, " No mapping for frame pointer" and "Backtrace terminated - invalid frame pointer 0xbffffcc8". What I think this is trying to say is that you have some serious problems with the directory structure on that disk. I would suggest trying DiskWarrior to see if it can repair the damage for you.

Nothing, I reset the pmu and all that stuff.. nothing really worked. Im at my end and I dont know what else I could do. Unfourtunatley I cant get the panic.log but I found, under Safe Mode, under Library/Log

That is the report my computer did as I started my laptop. Have no clue what that means. I hope somebody of you can help me because I really need my mac and I dont have money to buy me a new one..
I already wanna say thx to everybody who tries to help meIf there is nothing non-Apple connected or installed on the machine, and the hardware test tests OK, and you just erase and installed, the last possible cause of a kernel panic is RAM which has gone bad. RAM may go bad at anytime, and it is best replaced with high quality RAM. See my FAQ*:

Launching apps make screen temperature tone change in Mountain Lion, and kernel panics to
I have a mid-2010 MBP. After installing ML I began experiencing kernel panics after a day or so. The system kept rebooting and couldn't stay on for longer than 2 minutes. It made the loud beeps indicating RAM issues, and the screen sometimes flashed weirdly. I could boot from an external clone, so the problem was the hard drive in the end.
I installed a new SSD (Samsung 830) and 8GB of RAM from Kingston. Everything went fine for a day, them kernel panics started again, with those beeps, 3 beeps and other beeps at different frequencies. I think this time was a problem with the new RAM as switching to the old ones let's the computer work fine.
Installing the old ones again worked fine, but moving the computer makes it freeze, so they're probably defective. When it booted, though, I noticed a strange issue, which is the topic of this question:
Launching apps like Byword, Espresso or AppZapper made the color temperature change for, an hot to a cold tone. Quitting returned it to normal. Other apps, like apple's or Reeder worked fine. Launching these after one of the "cold" ones didn't restore it to normal. Rebooting sometimes solved the issue, it's not a consistent problem. Booting from an external clone of the current setup or an old one doesn't show the issue
With the old original RAM this is less evident, but there's still a slight change with the said apps.
I should try again with the clone to see if the change is slight and I didn't notice it, it may alway have been there from the start actually.
Could it be a video card problem as the Apple Support guy told me? Am I this unlucky and my Kac is falling apart all the way?
There is to say that I cannot afford to send it to Apple to check (which would take a couple of weeks) for a couple of months, as I need the computer.
Have anyone seen this too?

IMac 27" with Wireless G network causes Kernel Panics
I bought a 27" iMac Jan 8th 2010
At home i'm running a Wireless G network through a linksys WRT54G V7.0 router
From day one i was running into Kermnel Panics several times a day
When i was provided a new machine the same thing happened
The machine has been away for repair for 2 weeks and nothing was found.
As soon as the machine was back home the Kernel Panics started again
A clean install has ben done, and when setting up the network for the build in airport, the machine died again in a kernel panic
After further discussions with apple repair they stated the the Kernel Panics were caused by the Wireless G network, and was advised to get myself a wireless N router
I got myself a wirelees N router (apple airport extreme), and no more Kernel Panics were seen
Now the questions are :
Did anybody else ran into this issue ?
Is somebody have this same issue and also have a linksys router ?
Would anybody be able to explain why my Linksys WRT54g V7.0 router running Wireless G cuase the Kernel Panics on my machine ?
Ok quite a story, but hope to get some constructive answers.
thnx
PaulI took home a 27" i5 iMac on 7th of Mar 2010 and immediately two days later i had my first kernel panic.
When i called Apple Support the next day i was led through a barrage of file deleting and the usual Disk Utilities Repair Disk actions. Two days later another kernel panic happened but this time the computer display remained blank. I brought it back to the department store where i purchased it and, they agreed to replace my unit (still within the store's seven days warranty).
Five days later my new unit arrives and the moment i turned on the wireless connectivity i had another kernel panic. I was ****** - NOT looking forward to carrying the 38lb computer back to the store again. Called Apple again and the guy had me reinstall OSX. One day later kernel panics still there.
Then i experimented by not turning on the wireless internet, for two days no kernel panics. The moment i did, a kernel panic would occurs, i got suspicious. That's when i stumbled on luupski's post (I'm real glad i found it). I also was using a linksys WRT54G router and getting the same kernel panics as everyone on this thread. Now that the root cause has been identified, i decided to save my SGD258 (apple airport express) and instead invested SGD18 in a Cat5e 20m ethernet cable. My mac now works perfectly apart from the lack of wireless network, which i can grudgingly bear.
Real glad to see genuine and useful posts in a forum like this. I will be giving a heads up to the Apple support guys, they seem to be totally oblivious about this issue. Its weird since the WRT54G seems to be quite popular here in Singapore.
Thanks,

Several kernel panics every day
I am plagued with several kernel panics every day. I have reset the pram, and done a clean start several times, but it keeps happening. This morning it happened while I was downloading something that should not have been interrupted, causing an operator panic. This started about a month ago - once every couple of days. Now it is several times a day. It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing.
What else can I do? I live abaout 70 miles from the nearest apple retailer/repair shop, so anything I can do myself would be great!
Thank You!What does the Mbox 2 Mini manufacturer say?

Macbook MID-2012 crashing every day (Kernel Panic)
Hi!
I hope I'll find some help here.
My new Macbook (MID 2012) is crashing everyday. I read that this might be a RAM issue (maybe due to the fact that I installed 16GB 1600Mhz of Crucial), but this would really surprise me because I only got this issue after some weeks of the RAM replacement. In some cases I need to restart my MB a couple of times to get it run again. Also pretty weird, I got a similar issue when using Ableton Live, my trackpad an my keyboard freezes (computer continue working), and then I need to restart it a couple of times, and one of the two USB holes isn't working anymore (and to get it work again I need to reboot it again). For information : I have an USB hub with a MIDI keyboard connected, an external HDD, an USB Key, a Dongle, a Keyboard and a Mouse. I'm also using an external Audio Card, connected to the second USB hole, and a 27'' Screen. I really would like to reproduce theses crashes, but it's always happening at some random moment (not necesseraly due to a RAM overloard or so) Maybe some issue in my configuration.... Any thoughts ?
Thanks in Advance !

com.avira.kext.FileAccessControl 1.0.0d1
...it could be anywhere but your root System>Library>Extensions would be a good place to start. If you can't find it, download the free "EasyFind" from the Mac App Store and search for "avira." Once you move the kext (to a Desktop folder, for example) reboot and see if you're still having kernel panics.

Mac Mini (CoreSolo) kernel panics every night like clockwork
My new CoreSolo mini seems to kernel panic every night. Each morning, i find it displaying the 'reboot your computer' screen. The system.log is not particularly illuminating:
Apr 10 23:32:36 the-computer mdimportserver[780]: NSDataMessageStore: couldn't find body
Apr 10 23:32:36 the-computer mdimportserver[780]: NSDataMessageStore: couldn't find body

Apr 11 11:35:20 localhost kernel[0]: PAE enabled
Apr 11 11:35:20 localhost kernel[0]: standard timeslicing quantum is 10000 us
Basically, the last thing on the log last night was me putting it to sleep at 1:38AM, and then me at 11:35AM the next morning rebooting it because it was frozen.
This has happened almost every day this week. I have to hold down the power button to get it to shut off before rebooting.
I've run memtest in single user mode on the RAM (2GB), and it has passed over 7 runs without a hitch.
Any ideas? I'm already thinking of getting Apple to exchange this unit due to excessive fan noise, so maybe this is related. Overheating? The one thing about lion preinstalled is, You can run disk utilities from the restore partition by holding down the R key at startup or run aht by holding down the D key at startup. And it's still under warranty for a year after purchase. If all else fails you can do a restore. If the apple store gets it, that's most likely what they will do. So you'd have to backup anything you want to keep.

Hey guys,
I don't understand why I keep getting Kernel Panics. I have replaced my RAM and HDD but the kernel panics started happening a few months before then. I then took my MacBook Pro to the Apple store and they kept it overnight. 3 days later I go to pick it up and they tell me they couldn't find anything wrong software or hardware wise. Their advice was to do a total clean install. So about a month later I did a total clean install, manually putting my stuff back on..not using time machine or migration assistant. I was going well until I just got ANOTHER kernel panic. I really thought doing the clean install would fix it. My mac has been running faster and less buggy after the clean install.
Whats your advice? Do you think the kernel panics will stop when I upgrade to the Mac OS X Lion? Like I said before, the kernel panics happened BEFORE I opened up my computer and upgraded the RAM and HDD, so putting the original parts back in I don't think will fix anything. Plus, after upgrading to 8GB of RAM.
I'll post the kernel panic log:

I use my PowerPC Quicksilver G4 (2.1), 867 MHz, 1.5 GB standart video card system 10.4.11 to scan (lack of driver for my Mac Pro 10.6.8)
The G4 has been running flawless, now I get kernel panics every time (shut down your computer). When it stays on I get blotched video
left-over spots, tearig and then shut down your computer...
I did all recommended software tests Diskutility, rebuild with DiskWarrior and Apples full Hardware test. Everything comes out fine!
I am at the end of my know how. Thank you for any help

Yes I ran short and the Extended Test. All pass. One of the first things I did is Safe Boot several times I also repaired permissions. Safe boot takes no longer than before the crashes and as long as I stay in safe boot mode it won't crash. What does that mean?I also ran MacJanitor and removed the SCCUZI card Apple put in when I bought the G4 as well as an M-Audio Delta 66 card which I do not use (both) anymore. I also started up on an external firewire drive 10.4.6. It also (crashes) does the same thing.
I was hoping somebody understands the crash report I enclosed? Isn't that suppose to say what went wrong?
Thank you again for your input BDAqua

Mid 2009 macbook pro kernel panic every time I try to work.
I updated my mid 2009 mb pro a week ago. I got new RAM and got rid of the optical drive (I'm planning on putting an ssd there). And now every time the computer has to work a little bit (youtube+illustrator for example) and the processor has to work a little harder, the computer restarts giving me a kernel panic log.
This is the last one:
