Every time I open my itunes, my computer shuts down

every time I open iTunes, my computer shuts down, displays a Blue screen and restarts. I am running Vista Home on my computer.Any help would be greatly appriciated.

I got similar situation sadly. I am using Vista Home 32-bit, as I open itunes everything seems to be fine, yet after a moment of using it or instantly after closing the itunes I receive Blue Screen. I unistalled my itunes and other Apple applications, deleted the files, installed newest version yet it did not helped.
Edit : I found out that my computer crashed because of Apple Mobile Device support process, when I unistalled it the problems are gone, though I am not fully satisfied with such solution but Itunes do not cause computer crash now while using or exiting. Before doing so I updated all drivers on the computer, yet update did not changed anything.

I have had this problem for two hours now and I am very worried. When I turn on my computer, everything goes well, I click on my session icon, type my password, and the computer starts loading it. However, it goes very slowly, and every time, at approximately 25/30%, the computer shuts down.

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
If the issue persists...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore

It can be so perplexing getting error messages when we are just beginning to launch a program. There is a pretty in depth Knowledge Base article that dives into many of the meanings to particular error numbers. See here:

Under "Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows)" there is the following explanation and guidelines to getting that issue resolved:
"Error 3001," "-42110," or "5103"
This alert is related to iTunes Store movie rentals and authorization issues.
Make sure you are using the most recent version of iTunes and QuickTime. They both can be downloaded free of charge.
If your iTunes is up to date, remove the SC Info folder.

That would be very hard to do, as I would have to do a lot of things--including moving furniture to get at the back of a receiver--and I'm not at all sure that the receive could accommodate it.
The process is like this: I dial the receiver to the Apple TV input. The light comes on, like it's connecting, but then the Apple TV goes dark before any connection happens. Then I unplug the power cord, wait a few moments, and plug it back in. Then the Apple TV actually connects, but only after a full reboot (setting time, etc).

Itunes is opening a brand new itunes every time i open my itunes.....

hi guys..
my itunes has just started doing this lately and i dont know why!
when i open itunes its not opening my itunes, it opens a fresh one every time and launches the getting started tutorials too, all my settings have been reset and when i try sync my ipod it says its synced with a different itunes. I put all the settings back to the way i have them and re sync my ipod to this itunes, but soon as i exit itunes and run the program again it opens a new itunes again!
iv tried reinstalling it and got the new update but still doing it.
please, please, please someone help!

I have downloaded the update http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2715 (which by the way would not run for the first few times stating it was an update for Vista even though I chose the Windows 7 OS and the page showed was for 7.) I have rebooted about 4 times so far and everything is still in iTunes. Oh thank you all.... BTW I had my computer in with the Sony Backstage guys for a tune up a few months ago and I explained this issue to them. They had no idea and recommended I go over to the Apple store in the Mall. I would think they should be versed on various software related issues which can create trouble for users of their products just as they are versed in the nuts and bolts of how to save this, and move that, and make backup disks, and read my email. : ) Keeping my fingers crossed.
All this technology conflict.... Can't we all just get along???

Every time I open my iTunes - my library is gone. Why does this keep happening?

The folder with all my music in it is located on my desktop. I've had it like this for years now with never a problem.
Up until the most recent update, my library is gone everytime I open my iTunes.
Thankfully I saved my playlists to text documents, but it is becoming an enormous bother now to keep re-adding them.
I've searched the forums to no avail - anyone have any advice for me?

I recently downloaded the new iphone io5 software and it wiped my itunes. every time I open up itunes it say's there is a problem and closes down. The solution is to then download itunes again but it doesn't change anything. Please help

New version of firefox keeps freezing for minutes at a time every time I open it and my computer is new and IE works fine but hate IE

I have never had this problem before and it is happening on multiple computers. Firefox freezes for several minutes then unfreezes and works fine for awhile, then freezes again. Happening on two computers but not on other two only since 3.6 update. Please, help, as my brand new computer is doing this. It is not my ISP and does not happen on IE. Thanks!

No. iTunes media content is NOT backed up. If you Restore, it will be deleted. Normally, it would simply be re-loaded from the iTunes Library (or the appropriate location, in the case of photos) during the sync that follows the Restore.

Purchased music that's currently on the iPhone can be transferred back using iTunes > File menu > Transfer Purchases From. You'll need to re-load the other music into iTunes.
For future reference, it's possible to store your iTunes Library on an external drive, even a USB flash drive that you can connect when needed. The Library location can be specified in iTunes Preferences > Advanced tab.

When it's on hold the Sleep/Wake button and the home button at the same time until it turns off, then turn it on as usual. This will not delete anything from your device

Computer Shuts Down On Export

I am running Vista on my laptop (very new) and every time I export from LightRoom my computer shuts down after about a third of the images. Wedding exports with 1000 images shut down 5-6 times before I can get them out and 60 images shut down at least once. I am not sure how to fix this problem!

Sound's like hardware, most likely. Could be related to heat, as exporting pushes the processing system to 100%. If it's new, I'd ask for a replacement or repair.

Does Apple TV have to automatically sync every time I open itunes?

It took over 10 hours to sync iTunes with my apple tv. Every time I open up iTunes on my computer, the Apple TV automatically starts syncing with iTunes. When I try to cancel the syncing process, it says I will lose everything on my Apple TV. Is there any setting that will allow me to sync my Apple TV with iTunes only when I want to update it? HELP! I don't have time to do this every time I open up iTunes!

It shouldn't take that long everytime.
When it first syncs yes...but after that, iTunes will "sync" when opened but only does a quick check for changes in content and will update only files that need to (put new ones on, take old movies off depending on how you have your settings).
But really shouldn't take long after that first time unless maybe it never finished the first time.
