Everything to upper in the database.

Question

Hey everyone,
We want to save everything as upper in the database and have overridden prepareForDML to achieve this.
     protected void prepareForDML(int operation, TransactionEvent e)
          for (int i = 0; i < this.getAttributeCount(); i++)
               if (this.getAttributeInternal(i) != null && this.getAttributeInternal(i) instanceof String)
                    this.setAttribute(i,getAttributeInternal(i).toString().toUpperCase());
          super.prepareForDML(operation, e);
     }This method works perfect BUT in one case it takes 10 to 30 seconds to complete this for loop. These 10 to 30 seconds are allmost all consumed by the ViewPersons attribute we have. Which is one of our core Views and has quite some Views nested under it.
Is there anyone who knows an other way of uppering all data without the performance loss?

This should help:
public class BaseEntityImpl extends EntityImpl
     protected void setAttributeInternal(int param1, java.lang.Object param2)
    if (param2 instanceof String)
      param2 = ((String)param2).toUpperCase();
    super.setAttributeInternal(param1, param2);
}Of course, every entity object in your project should extend this BaseEntityImpl.
