Everything to upper in the database.

Hey everyone,
We want to save everything as upper in the database and have overridden prepareForDML to achieve this.
     protected void prepareForDML(int operation, TransactionEvent e)
          for (int i = 0; i < this.getAttributeCount(); i++)
               if (this.getAttributeInternal(i) != null && this.getAttributeInternal(i) instanceof String)
                    this.setAttribute(i,getAttributeInternal(i).toString().toUpperCase());
          super.prepareForDML(operation, e);
     }This method works perfect BUT in one case it takes 10 to 30 seconds to complete this for loop. These 10 to 30 seconds are allmost all consumed by the ViewPersons attribute we have. Which is one of our core Views and has quite some Views nested under it.
Is there anyone who knows an other way of uppering all data without the performance loss?
Thanks in advance
Johan

Johan,
This should help:
public class BaseEntityImpl extends EntityImpl
     protected void setAttributeInternal(int param1, java.lang.Object param2)
    if (param2 instanceof String)
      param2 = ((String)param2).toUpperCase();
    super.setAttributeInternal(param1, param2);
}Of course, every entity object in your project should extend this BaseEntityImpl.

  • In the middle of updating the database, everything died...

    I was launching A3 after the upgrade from 2.0 installation and the database update was going on. Then it hung at 3% and everything just froze.
    I had to force a restart.
    Then when I tried to start A3 again, I got the following error message "There was an error opening the database for the library “~/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary”. "
    Please help ASAP!!! I need all of this info!

    I did try that and it allowed me to try again. BUT, I started the process over and let it start to run overnight. I just woke up to see how far the system had progressed and the computer would not respond to anything at all. The screen had dimmed, but it wasn't in sleep mode (I disabled that before). I pressed the space bar. I clicked the mouse. Nothing. I tried to press the power button on the back of the iMac briefly...nothing.
    I had to hold the power button down to shut down the computer and then restart. Now I'm back to square one!
    What on Earth is going on?

  • The database is in mount or nomount state.

    I see similar posts, but I have not understood the solutions. This is my first installation of a DB. I'm taking a class that requires db 10g, and I'm trying to load it on my home computer. Windows XP pro. Everything seemed to be going well, until the point where it is suppose (by the instructions I'm following) to configure a new user account. When the URL:http://localhost:5500/em is suppose to open to the login page it gives me the following error page
    The database status is currently unavailable. It is possible that the database is in mount or nomount state.
    If I hit the "Startup" button I get the following page...
    Startup/Shutdown:Specify Host and Target Database Credentials
    Specify the following credentials in order to change the status of the database.
    It wants "Host Credentials" with username and password that no matter what I put in, it doesn't like. What are the "Host" Credentials?
    The installation I'm following is off of this site...
    http://www.course.com/cdkit/installinstructions_dbIII.cfm
    I can log in to SQL with the default Scott/Tiger - but (and I don't know anything about this really), if the db won't start a lot of good it does me.
    Anybody have any suggestions? I can't seem to establish a new user account for 10g, as the db is 'currently unavailable.''
    thanks,
    Dan

    Taj,
    You tried to help me before, and I have the same problem with a differnet computer. The installation goes great until I get to step 13 (listed below). When the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control web page opens it tells me that the db is not online. I did what you said in previous posts - except the last post. Am I suppose to do that?
    I can't seem to create a new user. Actually I just tried to log on to http://localhost:5500/em and it said the page can't load.
    13.     When the End of Installation page displays and confirms that the installation was successful, click Exit, and then click Yes to confirm exiting. The Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control web page opens.
    Configuring a New User Account for the Oracle10g Database
    When you start your computer, the Oracle10g database starts automatically, and is ready to accept data requests. Before you can use the Oracle10g database, you must perform some configuration tasks. First you create a user account, which is identified by a user name and password and is associated with an area in the database in which you create your database tables. You create a user account named dbuser, with password oracle.
    To create the user account:
    1.     On the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control Login page, type SYSMAN as the User Name and enter the password you specified in step 6 above, and then click Login.
    TIP: If you are not on the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control Login page, then open a Web Browser and type the following URL: http://localhost:5500/em
    2.     The Oracle Database Licensing Information 10g page will appear. Read the page and scroll to the bottom and then click I Agree. This page appears the first time a new user logs in to the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control application.
    3.     The Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control Home page will appear. To create a new user for the Oracle database: orcl, click the Administration link.
    4.     Under the Security heading click the Users link.
    5.     On the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control Users page, click the Create button located on the right hand side of the page.
    6.     Type DBUSER in the Name field, oracle in the Enter Password field, and oracle in the Confirm Password field.
    7.     Type USERS in the Default Tablespace field and Temp in the Temporary Tablespace field.
    8.     Click the Roles link, click the Modify button, select DBA in the Available Roles list, and then click the move arrow so that DBA appears in the Selected Roles list.
    9.     Click OK on the Modify Roles page, and then click OK on the Create User page. A message confirms that the object was successfully created.
    10.     Click the Logout link at the bottom of the page.
    11.     Close the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control web page by clicking the X icon in the upper right corner of the web page.
    Starting SQL*Plus and Logging On to the Oracle Database 10g
    To confirm that you can connect to your Oracle10g database, you now start SQL*Plus and log on to the database using the DBUSER account.
    To start SQL*Plus and log on to the database:
    1.     Click Start on the Windows taskbar, point to Programs or All Programs, point to Oracle – OraDb10g_home1, point to Application Development, and then click SQL Plus. The Log On dialog box opens and requests your user name, password, and host string.
    2.     Type DBUSER in the User Name field, press Tab, type oracle in the Password field, leave the Host String field blank, then click OK. The SQL*Plus program window opens, and the SQL prompt appears.
    3.     Close the Oracle SQL*Plus window.

  • Refresh jTable after inserting new data into the Database

    Hey all,
    I'm using Netbeans 6.5 to create a Desktop Application which is connected to a Java DB (Derby).
    The first simple steps were all very successfull:
    Create the jTable and bind it to the Database => everything works fine. When the application starts it correctly shows all data from the database.
    The problem starts when I try to insert new data to the database.
    For that reason I've created textfields and a button "Save". When I press the button it successfully inserts the data to the database but they are not displayed in the jTable (when the application starts they are all there, they are not updated at runtime) . I've tried table.invalidate() and table.repaint() but they just don't work.
    Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. But please have in mind that most of the code is Netbeans-generated and most of it not editable.
    Many thanks in advance.
    George

    Once again you are right my friend. I jumped to conclusion way too fast, when I shouldn't. (Give me a break, I've been busting my head with this well over a week). The response I saw when I did that was that indeed a line is added to the jTable. Because I falsly set the index of the object to be added to be second to last the row appeared on the table, what I didn't see at the time was that the last one disappeared. Hmm...
    A new adventure begins...
    So after a few hours of messing around with it here are my observations:
    1) It was not an observable list. When I add the new element with employeesList.add(newEmp); , the table gets notified but a get a bunch of exceptions:

    ... and a lot morewhich from my poor understanding means that the jTable succesfully notices the change but it is not able (??) to adjust to the new change. What is more interesting is that when I plainly add the element to the end of the list (without an idex that is), a blank row appears at the end of my Table. The weird thing is that I've bound the table to some text fields below it, and when I select that empty row all the data appear correctly to the text fields.
    I tried going through:
                    org.jdesktop.observablecollections.ObservableCollections.observableList(employeesList).add(newEmp);as well as
                    help = org.jdesktop.observablecollections.ObservableCollections.observableListHelper(employeesList);
                    help.getObservableList().add(newEmp);
                    help.fireElementChanged(employeesList.lastIndexOf(newEmp));and
                    obsemployeesList = org.jdesktop.observablecollections.ObservableCollections.observableList(employeesList);
                    obsemployeesList.add(newEmp);and I still get the same results (both the exeptions and the mysterious empty row at the end of the table
    So, I'm again in terrible need of your advice. I can't thank you enough for the effort you put into this.
    Best regards,
    George

  • Adding Data to the database for SAP Transactions

    Hi
    I'm new to the whole ABAP. I would like to enquire about adding transaction data in SAP through ABAP but it must be immediate.
    I know that one can use a BAPI to add data and can rollback if any problems occur.
    But if no BAPI exists how does one write code to add a document to the SAP database but with everything SAP transaction requires like the BAPI. What is the process and how???
    So let say I wanted to do FB01 which is SAP FI document and must be immediate. There is a BAPI that exists for it but if there was not one how would I do this???
    I know one can also use BDC but that creates a batch and then needs to be executed in SM35, I want a way to add data for two or three SAP transactions, if any problems occur with any of the steps rollback everything else commit everything to the database.
    Any simple detail examples (code) that satisfy the above will be greatly appreciated and REWARDED.
    Thanks in advance

  • How I can transfer data from the database into a variable (or array)?

    I made my application according to the example (http://corlan.org/2009/06/12/working-in-flash-builder-4-with-flex-and-php/). Everything works fine. I changed one function to query the database - add the two parameters and get the value of the table in String format. A test operation shows that all is ok. If I want to display this value in the text area, I simply drag and drop service to this element in the design mode
    (<s:TextArea x="153" y="435" id="nameText" text="{getDataMeanResult.lastResult[0].name}"  width="296" height="89"  />).
    It also works fine, just a warning and encouraged to use ArrayCollection.getItemAt().
    Now I want to send the value to a variable or array, but in both cases I get an error: TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties..
    How can I pass a value from the database into a variable? Thank you.
    public var nameTemp:String;
    getDataMeanResult.token = authors.getDataMean(arrayOfNumber[0], dir_id);
    nameTemp = getDataMeanResult.lastResult[0].name;
    public var nameArray:Array = new Array();
    for (var i:uint=o; i<3; i++){
    getDataMeanResult.token = authors.getDataMean(arrayOfNumber[i], dir_id);
    nameArray[i] = getDataMeanResult.lastResult[0].name;
    And how i can use syntax highlighting in this forum?

    I have to go back to the discussion. The above example works fine when i want to get a single value of the database. But i need to pass an array and get an array, because i want to get at once all the values for all pictures tooltips. I rewrote the proposed Matt PHP-script and it works. However, i can not display the resulting array.
    yep, it won't work for Arrays, you'll have to do something slightly more intelligent for them.
    easiest way would be to get your PHP to generate XML, then read that into something like an ArrayList on your HTTPService result event (depends what you're doing with it).
    for example, you could have the PHP generate XML such as:
    <pictures>
         <location>test1.png</location>
         <location>test2.png</location>
         <location>test3.png</location>
         <location>test4.png</location>
         <location>test5.png</location>
         <location>test6.png</location>
    </pictures>
    then you'll read that in as the ResultEvent, and perform something like this on it
    private var tempAC:ArrayList = new ArrayList
    protected function getStuff_resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void
        for each(var item:Object in event.result.pictures)
           var temp:String = (item.@location).toString();
           tempAC.addItem(temp);
    in my example on cookies
    http://www.mattlefevre.com/viewExample.php?tut=flash4PHP&proj=Using%20Cookies
    you'll see an example of how to format an XML structure containing multiple values:
    if($_COOKIE["firstName"])
            print "<stored>true</stored>";
            print "<userInfo>
                    <firstName>".$_COOKIE["firstName"]."</firstName>
                    <lastName>".$_COOKIE["lastName"]."</lastName>
                    <userAge>".$_COOKIE["userAge"]."</userAge>
                    <gender>".$_COOKIE["gender"]."</gender>
                   </userInfo>";
        else
            print "<stored>false</stored>";
    which i handle like so
    if(event.result.stored == true)
                        entryPanel.title = "Welcome back " + event.result.userInfo.firstName + " " + event.result.userInfo.lastName;
                        firstName.text = event.result.userInfo.firstName;
                        lastName.text = event.result.userInfo.lastName;
                        userAge.value = event.result.userInfo.userAge;
                        userGender.selectedIndex = event.result.userInfo.gender;
    depends on what type of Array you're after
    from the sounds of it (with the mention of picture tooltips) you're trying to create a gallery with an image, and a tooltip.
    so i'd probably adopt something like
    <picture>
         <location>example1.png</location>
         <tooltip>tooltip for picture #1</tooltip>
    </picture>
    <picture>
         <location>example2.png</location>
         <tooltip>tooltip for picture #2</tooltip>
    </picture>
    <picture>
         <location>example3.png</location>
         <tooltip>tooltip for picture #3</tooltip>
    </picture>
    etc...
    or
    <picture location="example1.png" tooltip="tooltip for picture #1"/>
    <picture location="example2.png" tooltip="tooltip for picture #2"/>
    <picture location="example3.png" tooltip="tooltip for picture #3"/>
    etc...

    This is the technique I would recommend. If you'd like to wrap this

    that provides such a method and use that as the base class for all your

    Chidu,
    The result set that you get back is a JDBC ResultSet, not a "JATO" resultset. In ND, everything was wrapped in a "spider" data
    structure, and therefore, difficult to get to the underlying datastructure, in many cases. In some case ND made it easier to do
    certain things, and in other ways, made it more difficult or impossible(like seeing the SQL for an insert, update, delete).
    >
    Anyway, looking at the java.sql package, you can do this.
    java.sql.ResultSet rs = <jata-model>.getResultSet();
    java.sql.ResultSetMetaData rsMeta = rs.getMetaData();
    // not sure if this is what you need, but it was the closest thing I couldfind
    int colSize = rsMeta.getColumnDisplaySize(int column);
    There are numerous other methods in the ResultSetMetaData interface thatmay be of use as well.

  • Why do I get a class conflict between the Prepare SQL.vi and the Get Column Name.vi with the SQL Toolkit compatibility vis from the Database Connectivity Toolkit?

    I have done extensive programming with the SQL Toolkit with LabVIEW versions through 6.1. My customer now wants to upgrade to Windows 7, so I am trying to upgrade to LabVIEW 2009 (my latest purchased version) using the Database Connectivity Toolkit, and the SQL Toolkit Compatibility vis. Everything seemed to be going okay with the higher level SQL operations, but I ran into trouble with the Get Column Name.vi.
    The pictures below show the problem. The original SQL Toolkit connected the Prepare SQL.vi with the Get Column Name.vi with a cluster of two references, one for connection, and one for sql. The new compatibility vis have a class conflict in the wire because the Prepare SQL.vi contains a cluster with connection, and command references, but the Get Column Name.vi expects a cluster with connection and recordset references.
    How do I resolve this conflict?
    Thank You.
    Dan

    I've never worked with the old version of the toolkit, so I don't know how it did things, but looking inside the SQL prep VI, it only generates a command, and the the column name VI wants a recordset. I'm not super familiar with all the internals of ADO, but my understanding is that is standard - you only have the columns after you execute the command and get the recordset back. What you can apparently do here is insert the Execute Prepared SQL VI in the middle and that will return what you need.
    I'm not sure why it worked before. Maybe the execute was hidden inside the prep VI or maybe you can get the column names out of the command object before execution. In general, I would recommend considering switching to the newer VIs.

  • Table /xyz/abc does not exist in the database

    Hi experienced developers,
    I created two transparent tables in customer name space in development system, transport to quality together with program using the tables, everything fine, no errors, no warnings.
    Then transported to production. No errors, no warnings. Detailed protocol shows tables have been activated, no errors or warnings.
    First try to use the program gives a dump.
    line 1191:
    ""/xyz/abc" is not defined in the ABAP Dictionary as a table, p"
    "rojection view, or database view."
    Double-click on the table in program code gives a popup information message
    Table/xyz/abc does not exist in the
    database
    After acknowleding the popup, the usual dictionary entry is shown, table is active. Utilities -> database object -> Display leads to an empty screen
    Fields of /xyz/abc
    Fld name Position Data Type Length Decimals Not null Default
      Indexes for /xyz/abcI
    Utilities -> runtime object -> Display shows  the table name followed by message
    There is no active runtime object for ...
    prededed by big icon exclamation mark.
    We created a new transport with exactly the same result.
    Basis people have no idea.
    The only thing special (but OK I think) is that the tables have key fields only.

  • Licecache table missing Table MATRIXINDE does not exist in the database wit

    Hello,
    We recently done a system copy of our APO system, everything went well. in case of Livecache there are 2 problem
    1) when we do the integration for LCA/LDA/LCA while we mentione the Livecache server it is not taking the host name , it is only picking the IP address of the livecache server. If we tried host name, it times out.
    2) once we give the IP address as livecache server  we can start the live cache server. Bure there is only two tables in it
    when we run
    transaction Livecache Check (/SAPAPO/OM03) we get the erro i.e.Table MATRIXINDE does not exist in the database with ID LCA
    runtime error DBIF_RSQL_TABLE_UNKNOWN
    When we look into the tables there are only 2 tables in it
    AAPSYSNAME
    LCA_WARNINGS
    when I compare with other system...it is missing a lots of other tables..
    We did re-initialized the livecache.
    Appreciate your help in this

    Hello Sudhir,
    1) Did you create the SAP ticket where this issue is reported?
    2) It's good to know more details about the APO version, liveCache/LCA versions on your
        source & target systems.
        What note or document did you follow to do a system copy of our APO system?

  • Is there a way to force the Tag Engine to dump its input buffer to the database?

    I have an application where I start a process and log the data, and then call a subVI that uses the Read Historical Trend VIs to get all of the data from when the process started until now. The problem is that the Historical Trend VIs only read from the database on disk, and the Tag Engine's buffer doesn't write to disk until it's full (or possibly times out; I'm not sure about that, though). Is there a way to force the Tag Engine to write to disk, so that the Historical Trend VIs will return the most recent data?
    Shrinking the buffer will help a little, but that will only result in missing less of the most recent data. One possible hack is to have a dummy tag that I simply write enou
    gh data to that will cause the buffer to be written to the database. I was hoping for something more elegant, though.

    That's a good question.
    The control about the datalogging and the DSC Engine is all done (more or less) automatically - you feel the NI ease-of-use idea
    That means the Citadel service (one of the NI Services installed by LabVIEW DSC) is responsible of taking care about the datahandling (writing to and reading from the database files including caching some data e.g. index files, frequently used data...).
    The DSC Engine makes a request to the Citadel service that this data has to be logged. Everything else is handled by the Citadel service. Internally, there are two kinds of logging periods handled through the Citadel service. One for traces being viewed (a small period: 200ms) and one for traces not being viewed (slow (big) log period: 20000ms). That
    means, if Citadel gets a request to store a value it will buffer it and store it as soon as possible depending on other circumstances. One depends on the fact if this trace data is being viewed (e.g. with Read Histroical Trend.vi) If you request/read to view a trace you should pretty much see the current values because citadel should use the fast log period.
    The Citadel service takes care as well about setting priorities e.g. the writes before the reads (We don't want to loose data - right?). That means if you really stuff the system by writing a lot of data the CPU might get overloaded and the reads will happen less often.
    If you really want to see "real-time" data I would recommend to use the "Trend Tags.vi". With this approach you avoid the chain DSCEngine-Output Buffer-CitadelService-InputBuffer-File-HD... and back.
    I hope this info helps.
    Roland
    PS: I've attached a simple VI that has a tip (workaround) in it which might do what you are looking for... However, Nationa
    l Instruments cannot support this offically because the VI being used are internally DSC VIs that certainly change in the next version of LV DSC... and therefore you would need to "re-factor" your application.

  • How to reinstall the database components of BI Publisher (11.1.1.5)

    Hi,
    We're using BI Publisher 11.1.1.5 installed within an existing Weblogic 10.3.6 instance running on Oracle Linux 5.6.
    We installed it against an existing 10g test database.
    We decided to refresh the database from the production system and we had to rebuild the test db from scratch, meaning we lost all BIP components installed in it.
    We re-ran the BIP RCU to create the schemas but we can't see how we can reinstall the other required BIP database components without doing a full deinstall and then install of everything.
    The other required db components are such things as the bipcatalog java classes. These are not installed by the RCU from what it seems.
    We have another test database with the BIP components in it and I can see them there so we could export/import them if necessary, but I thought there must be a way to use an assistant or something to do it.
    Any ideas how to go about reinstalling just the db objects?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    I have found out what it was that needed loading into the database, it wasn't BI Publisher specific after all. It is the database callout utility and JPublisher classes, which are used when calling out to invoke web services. They're loaded using loadjava command into the database.

  • URGENT: how to get the database error message into application?

    Hi, pls give some idea:
    For example, the database is MS Access. When insertion failed, the getMessage() method of SQLException will print "General error", while the log file created by ODBC will be "[MICROSOFT][ODBC DRIVER]column ID no found in student table"(...just a example).
    So, how to get this message in our application?

    instead of using the getMessage method, have you tried something like this:
             try {
             } catch (Throwable t1) {
                System.out.println(t1.toString());
             }If that still doesn't work, you can always redirect the log entries into a textarea but then everything that appears in the log file will be redirected!
    ;o)

  • Error : Opening a rowset for "Sheet$" failed. Check that the object exists in the database.

    Hi,
    i am trying to load the data from excel sheet using For each loop container in ssis 2005.
    But it gave me the below error:
    Error: Opening a rowset for "Sheet1$" failed. Check that the object exists in the database.
    [DTS.Pipeline] Error: "component "failed validation and returned validation status "VS_ISBROKEN".
    Error: There were errors during task validation.
    Could you please let me know the solution
    Regards
    Sqlstud

    That message usually means validation has failed;
    Have any of the underlying tables changed?  Data types, lengths, maybe even column ordering, etc...?
    try this..
    Right-click on the Data Flow Task and select Properties. Then set DelayValidation =TRUE.
    Let us TRY this |
    My Blog :: http://quest4gen.blogspot.com/
    Thanks ETL.
    Everything is fine..(Datatypes,length,orderings etc)
    Already i have set
    DelayValidation =TRUE.
    IS there any other problem?

  • Lync 2013 Error - Certificate could not be published in the database associated with User Services Cluster

    Hi Lync gurus,
    I have a weird issue:
    Just installed a Lync Standard 2013.
    Everything works except I keep getting this error in Log: every 30 minute or so.
    First an Error:  Event 47067
    A server did not respond to HTTP request
    Server lyncserver.domain.local did not respond to HTTP request PublishCertRequest targeted at
    https://lyncserver.domain.local:444/LiveServer/UserPinService.
    Cause: Server might be down or the network path between servers might not be properly configured.
    Resolution:
    Please ensure that the server can be connected on the target port using telnet and then re-try.
    Then I get a Warning: Event 47068
    GetAndPublish web service failed.
    Certificate could not be published in the database associated with User Services Cluster [lyncserver.domain.local ]. Request Details - Entity: [[email protected]], Device Id: [6BB30A3E-2923-553A-8E5F-0B2FB2CEA330], Authenticated User: [sip:[email protected]].
    Additional Context: [Publish_Failure: OtherFailure;HttpNoResponse:"lyncserver.domain.local "]
    Cause: This could be due to network connectivity issues with the remote server, or because the database is down.
    Resolution:
    Please ensure that the user services is reachable and the database is up and running.
    Thanks for any help

    Please check you can telnet port 443 and port 444 on Lync Front End Serve from client.
    Try to regenerate a new certificate for Lync Front End Server.
    Check all the services on Lync Front End Server are started.
    Check the option “Enable all purposes for this certificate” is checked for the trusted root CA certificate.
    For the detailed steps:
    Run MMC--Add\Remove Snap-ins--certificates--Local Computer--Trusted Root Certificate Authorities--Certificates, find the Root CA certificate you installed--Properties--General, check the "Enable all purposes for this certificate".
