Everytime I add a new bookmark and then open it later it's either a blank page or a google ad, not the page I bookmarked, why is this happening?

Hi, this problems been going on for about a month now, and I can't figure it out. Basically everytime I add a new bookmark first I have to edit the name of it, as it doesn't happen automatically like it used to and is meant too, and then when I re-open the page later on from the bookmark, it pops up with either a blank page or a google ad. I haven't got any add-ons running, it says my theme is default, I have also gotten rid of the 'localstore.rdf' file, and it hasn't made any difference.
Also if I edit the link in 'organise bookmarks' so it is correct, it makes no difference at all.
I am running Firefox 3.0.19 on a macbook with OS X Tiger.
Please help if you can, I'm really stuck and it's making my life difficult.

This can be caused by a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Owner status on POST PAID is not the same as PRE PAID.
on prepaid you can get any device you like.
But you pay upfront.
People on post paid get the advantage of reduced priced devices on contracts. Prepaid is no contracts.
Any carrier will function the same way. Go online and check out Verizon pre paid policy and then look at the other carriers.
Maybe prepaid from Walmart or Boost Mobile, or Cricket etc. would be best for you. Pay for all you can eat calling, texting and data for one low price. Say $45-$55 and buy the phones they offer.

Can I highlight and post-it-note a pdf on a tablet and then open it later on my laptop (and vice-versa)?

Obviously I would save it and then transfer it to my laptop.
One more thing: I am interested in purchasing a tablet primarily for reading PDFs (often scanned books and articles). But I must be able to highlight/notate (not edit) these pdfs and then re-open them to do the same on my laptop. If you have any recommendations for less expensive Tabs for this job, I would be interested (as well as your recommended screen size). But my first question is really the important one (I won't buy a tablet if it is not possible/easy).

For you first question I would say that yes you can highlight a PDF on a tablet and then open it on laptop.
Secondly, if you ask which tablet is less expensive, then I must tell you that there is no connection of the tablet purchase on the basis of your needs.
This is because Adobe Reader can be installed as a free app on a tablet for serving your purposes of reading, annotating PDF documents easily and at free of cost.

I recently updated my Iphone 5s to ios8 from ios7(.something) and lost all photos, text messages, etc. and then restored it using an old Icloud backup from 2014. I want to change the Icloud backup to one from this year.

Is it possible to do this, and how? My iphone 5s is still restoring currently in the Backup settings and there's an option that says "Stop restoring Iphone" if I tap it, it says "any data that has not been downloaded will not be restored or backed up in the future"... AND I KNOW that if I update my iphone from ios7 to ios8 that it is a big jump and is the reason why I lost everything on it. So please don't tell me that is the answer to my question, because it's not. I am clearly asking if I can change the icloud backup date from 2014 to one from this year. This is because my iphone asked me which backup I want to use to restore my stuff from after the ios8 update. I hope this question isn't too confusing!!

I'll open Safari and go to my usual pages, however now when I open it and it's trying to load my homepage, it doesn't really load and then I get the rainbow pinwheel and it just does that until I get fed up and try to close the window. Might be a dirty dock connector on your phone. Try gently brushing it with a clean, dry toothbrush and/or blowing on it with a can of compressed air.

The back up is on my work computer. Can I set it up as a new iphone and then later upload the info from itunes

Yes, but the first time you sync with a new iTunes library it will delete any iTunes media an apps from your phone and replace them with the media in the iTunes library your are syncing with (purchased apps and music can be redownloaded for free: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).
When you get to work, connect your phone to your computer, then right-click on the name of your phone when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar and choose Restore From Backup.

The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Im really POed at the new iTunes on so many levels. first, the iCloud makes all songs i bought when i was 11 and deleted when i was 13 again. me and my little sister share the same account, but we have different computers so we don't have each other's song. now, thanks to iCloud, we do. i do not want carrie underwood or justin bieber, abd she doesn't want david bowie and led zeppelin. right now, the icloud isn't working, which is fine right now, but it's not right.
ok, about "adding music and other content to iTunes." you used to be able to drag a file from your documents to your library and it would be copied onto it. i am under the impression that that isn't the case anymore. I've tried a billion times and it hasn't worked. even when im on the led zeppelin section of my library and i drag "over the hills and far away" it won't budge; there's still only 6 albums and 10 songs. so i clicked "add file to library" and then the song i want, but it doesn't come up. and i did this a zillion times with a bunch of different songs, and nothing.
another problem is that the files are screwy. "houses of the holy" is on the album physical graffiti, not houses of the holy. if i edit the song's info to physical graffiti, all the other songs that are supposed to be on houses of the holy go into physical grafitti. when i go to song info, they still say houses of the holy. i just tried changing it again, and now all my led zeppeling albums are labeled houses of the holy. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!?!?!?!?!

Go to edit-preferences-advanced-
uncheck 'keep itunes media folder organised'
Then make changes and see if itunes keeps the new info...
But warning! if you allow iTunes to organise your files in the future these change will be undone I believe.
