Everytime I try to update I get a1402 error message

Every time I try to update my Adobe Reader 9 to 10 I get this error message: Error 1402  "Could not open key. Verify that you have sufficent access to that key". What does this mean? How do I get access to the key?

Basically, uninstall, reboot, reinstall the newer version.
One or more of your registry keys is honked.
If the regular Add / Remove programs doesn't remove all of it, use msicuu2.exe you can download it from Microsoft.
This will remove all Adobe entries and registry keys.  Then just do a fresh install.
