Everytime I try to update my iPod, it comes up with a message saying the server could not be contacted.

My ipod is the 4.3.5 version. It is driving me nuts! I have tried disabling different softwares, updating Itunes, and restarting my computer over and over. It says server cannot be contacted yet everytime I open iTunes, it pops up at least twice saying to update.

So you plug your iPod in and open iTunes and are prompted for a username and password for an Apple ID that is not yours? If so, what does this prompt say exactly?

How can I sync movies to my iPod Touch when I get a message saying the movies can not be read or written? I just bought the movies yesterdayfrom iTunes with no problem.

My 3G service provider told me to power off by holding the top black button down for 5 seconds until you get until you get the red arrow asking you to slide to power off. Leave off for a minute or so and then use the same button to turn back on and it will show a little apple in the middle of the screen. This should reboot your server information and you will not get the error message.

Thanks. I had searched for that error message but had the whole number and nothing came up. I followed the directions and now it is recognized. The only thing I hadn't done before was to disconnect my external hard drive. Go figure.

Trying to restore my phone. I have it in recovery mode. I have iTunes updated and I've done the terminal hosts thing when I clicked "more information". No matter what I do I still get the same pop-up. It'll extract files for anywhere of 10 seconds to 2 minutes and then the pop-up shows. I hope i've given enough info if not please ask for more. It sounds like your PC or Mac's internal HD is full. You need to delete some data or move it to an external hard drive or storage device of some sort before you'll be able to successfully complete the restore.
