EVPRO() in BPC 7

Hello there,
I have one dimension with 5 hierarchies, when i use the evpro() function i always get the hlevel of the first hierarchie, how can i do for get the hlevel of the second hierarchie?
Thanks,

Hi,
You're right. You can't retrieve HLEVEL property for other hierarchies. The HLEVEL information comes always from the 1st hierarchy. This is by-design. EVPRO function is not designed to use hierarchy specific information. HLEVEL is a technical property, which is actually not maintained by the user.
I guess you're using HLEVEL in reports for enabling conditionnal formatting? If it's the case, I mean you can build your own property and use it in the report, instead if HLEVEL.
For you information, I know that this change in EVPRO behavior has been escalated as an a enhancement request for future releases of the product. But actually, I think there is no workaround available.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Patrick

  • How to display PropertyuFF1Au300CPARENTHu300D on BPC for Excel

    Hi.
    Can the dimension property:PARENTH
Is it possible to show the dimension property:PARENTH on BPC for Excel ?
I try to use 「EvPRO」.but it didn't work.
Are there special function for property:PARENTH ?
    Takuo

You could try an excel formula in the extra column, but I believe that after processing the formula is removed (never tried this myself).
And a method might be to arrange things directly in SQL using triggers or custom ssis packages. But to be honest, is this really worth it, how many changes do you make in a parenth structure. A simple manual for the administrator here might be enough.
My advice is always, KISS (keep it simple and stupid)

  • BPC - Multiple Dimensions in Row Expansion - NOEXPAND issue

I have an EVDRE report in BPC where I am expanding on two different dimensions in the row (Entity, Geography).  I want the Entity Dimension to dynamically expand.  However, I want the Geography dimension to be static so I am using a NOEXPAND.  The issue I am having is that now Entity won't expand when I change my CV.
Does anyone have a solution to this issue?
    Thanks.
    -Keith

    Marvin,
Thanks for the response.  Let me start by saying the opposite is true.  There can be many entities under one geography which is why I made the Geography a property of Entity so I think we are ok there.
I think I am still a little unclear how that code you provided will only give the Geography that is associated with a particular Entity on the Row Key.
    Let me explain:
Ihave an Entity Dimension [E1, E2, E3] and a Geography Dimension [G1, G2].  I also have a property in the Entity Dimension that tells me which GEO_ID each Entity belongs to (i.e. E1->G1, E2->G1, E3->G2).
If I have an input schedule with static rows, I can use an EVPRO in the second column of the row key to pull out the proper Geography key.  However if I have a dynamic row expansion I will get the following:
    E1, G1
    E1, G2
    E2, G1
    E2, G2
    E3, G1
    E3, G2
But what I really want is just
    E1, G1
    E2, G1
    E3, G2
Because those are the proper mappings.  Does this make more sense?  Is there a way to accomplish this dynamically?  The only way I have been able to do it thus far is by use a cell key range In which I take out geography from the row expansion and use an EVPRO in the cell key range to provide the proper Geography ID.
    Thanks for the help.

  • BPC Properties and Use

I'm currently at a client and the situation they have is that for the ENTITY dimension, they have various numerical fees .  There are close to 10-15 fees and thus I've created 10-15 Properties for each fee.  The fee's will be standard across all categories and time, hence no need to store it as an account as that would be would require maintenance as I assume I would have to copy it across Time and Categories, whereas through properties, once its added there is no need to change it.
The goal is through Script logic to use the Property/Fee attributed to the Entity and perform calculations.  In BPC is it possible to write Script Logic that could call the property and then perform a calculation?  I assume I would have to create each of the fees as properties and make them "InAPP" in order to perform calcs?
    Thanks,
    Pras

I may not be following your question so pardon if I don't actually fully answer.  When you maintain a dimension member sheet, with members and properties in the microsoft version, you may leave more data in the sheet than is stored in the dimnesion.  But only the PROPERTIES that are defined in the Manitain dimension properties will be stored in the application, with the exception of FORMULAH# entries.  In addition, in the SQL table there are other properties that are stored as part of the processing that may referenced using EVPRO, such as LEVEL.
Some of the unlisted properties are part of the code for the product and will be part of the table in the background, but ONLY the properties that generally are added may be used by logic or the cube based on the INAPP setting.
    Hope this helps.

  • BPC: Conversion File Formulas

    Hi all,
Would appreciate your help with the following scenario...
I have a conversion file that converts account ID's, however if it has a certain External account number I would like to use a formula to go pick up a property from the Entity Dimension and use that property value as the Internal Account.
I am hoping I can use the Formula column, but currently I have limited expericence with entering formulas on Conversion files.
I am very appreciative of any formula samples.
    Many Thanks,
    Brian

    Brian,
Unless another user has the correct script and I have never used it, I don't think the process you have in mind is an available conversion technique. Since the conversion file is basically a 2 column replacement process sheet, you should be able to copy the members into the conversion sheet, execute a property lookup using evpro, and then copy-paste-value to convert the properties to text that would be used in the conversion process.  The only downside is that this would need to be performed after any property changes or updates to the dimension file.
In addition, I would suggest logging this as an enhancement request with support; I think that this has been requested in the past, but if it is a very useful tool, then product development should see a case for adding the functioality to BPC
    Thanks.

  • SAP BPC & Templates & Dimentions

I need your help. Iu2019m trying to do something with the templates of the SAP BPC but I donu2019t know how to do it, or if itu2019s possible.
In a template in the rows can appear the properties of a dimension, I mean that I can see it physically, but not as to filter with that property. For example, if I a put u201Crestaurantu201D I want to show me the address of this u201Crestaurantu201D, like if it was an attribute of BW.
Here I want to put the address like a property of the dimension.
In the beginning, the answer in u201CNOu201D, it canu2019t appear, but do you know how can I do this? Is it possible?
    Thank you in advance.
    Pablo Mortera.

You have function like EVPRO function which is providing the values of property for a specifiv member of a dimension.
You can read more about this function into webexcel help online.

  • SAP BPC in more languages

    Hello,
I wan to know if SAP BPC can have more than the english language. Not the SQL Server or the Windows.
WEe want to see the menus and the data in other language. Is it possible??
    Thank you in advance.
    Pablo Mortera.

When you install the BPC for Office client, you can select for about 7 different languages (of which english, german, french, etc) , the BPC menus and dialogs will then be presented in the selected language. If you want to change this language, you have to reinstall the client software.
If you want to use multiple languages descriptions for dimension members you can create multiple properties (DES_ENGLISH, DES_GERMAN, ETC) which can be used in reports for showing the descriptions in the desired language.
For one of my customers I created an 'language' cube, one of the dimensions reflects all user ID's. In this cube, they can store and change a default language per user. All input schedules and reports will then first lookup what the default language is for your userid and then using an evpro to retrieve the descriptions in your language.
    Hope this helps,

  • ** Embeding BPC functions inside VBA Code **

    Hi all,
I am wokring in a BPC application which is a bit more customized and has some complexities.
Basically It's a client-server app, with BPC in backend and Excel as Front end.
Does anyone know whether it's possible to embed BPC functions inside VBA code?
For example, If I want  to store a the value of a property of a dimension member into a VBA variable, is it possible?.
    Inside VBA,
MyVar = EVPRO("MY_APPS","MEMBER-X","ACTIVE")   won't work until VBA is told about the details of EVPRO.
Any idea whether this could work using some special techniques that tell VBA the details about EVPRO and other BPC
    functions?
    Thanks
    DipM

    Hi,
I am not sure if that is possible. Although you can try this below work around.
    sheets(1).cells(1,1).value="=  EVPRO(""MY_APPS"",""MEMBER-X"",""ACTIVE"") "
    MyVar=sheets(1).cells(1,1).value
Although this is just a workaround but works smoothly. Hope this is of some use to you.

  • How to use the RateEntity dimension in SAP BPC?

    Hello everbody,
I am implementing a consolidation process using SAP BPC. I want to use the RateEntity dimension, to translate a same currency into different exchange rates depending on the company.
I want the company which ID is GFU (which is from Brazil) in LegalEntity dimension is converted using a special exchange rate. I have added a GFU member in RateEntity dimension, and I have entered the exchange rates for the member GFU and for the member Global in RateEntity dimension.
But the problem is that after I run the FX Restatement package, converted data for this company is not the proper one, because Global exchange rates have been used instead of GFU exchange rates. Does anybody know why? Do I have to do anything else?
Thank you very much for your time

Do you see the search functionality in the upper left of the screen?
Okay, now type in ecatt, press enter and in the next screen filter on blogs.

  • How to hide member Account dimension from BPC Administrator for Reporting

Hi experts, i need to hide some members of the Account dimension for reporting, because those members dont use it anymore, but i dont want delete them.
The question is: Does it exist any propierties for this dimension type that allows hiding members in reporting without set members in the BPC for Excel?
I can create a report which contain the members i want to show, but if any change occurs (client desire) the report is outdated.
    Thank you in advance
    Ignacio Vazquez

    Ignacio,
There is no function like that.
You can choose below two options.
    1. Create a property like  'NOUSE'  and set a value 'Y' for unused member
When you create EVDRE report, set a filter against that property that has value 'N'
then those members will not be shown at the report.
    2. Create 'NOUSE' parent member and put members under this parent member.
Maybe option 1 is more easier to do that.
I hope it will help you

  • Using a variable in an allocation routine in SAP BPC 7.5NW

Below is a very simple BPC allocation routine I wrote.  The data originally sits on a dummy profit center and needs to be allocated to all itu2019s relevant profit centers. These relevant profit centers can be derived from the profit center hierarchy (BPC_ + ID of entity).
When I hardcode the Profitcenter and the entity, the routine works (as below). But what I really want is that it works variable as in the line that I commented out. Any idea whether this could work (BPC 7.5NW)  ? If not, I am afraid I need to go to ABAP, which is really a pitty

    Thanks
    Nico

    Gersh,
It works now. I have implemented the below code (ENTITY needed to contain the variable as well). The relationship profitcenter and entity is very important as it derives the relevant profitcenters from the profit center hierarchy (e.g. all profitcenters under the legalentity node).
    //ALLOCATION PROCEDURE CONVERSION RATE
    //=====================================
    *FOR %ENT% = %ENTITY_SET%
    *RUNALLOCATION
    *FACTOR=1

    Hello Vadim,
    Thanks for the reply.
I am able to process ACCOUNT_GL dimension.
Also, I am using standard TIME dimension.
I found that the virtual provider(created by using source of data for my model) too is showing the error, when I place above member formula.
I am attaching the error messae when I try to do list records in the virtual provider.
When I remove the member formula, everything is fine
    Thanks

  • Can we enter data in multiple currencies in BPC

    Hi all,
In BPC, is it possible to enter data in transaction currencies other than in local currency?  For example, if the local currency of an entity is USD, but I need to enter data for the same Accounts in EUR, MYR and SGD as well and not have the system translate the amount in local currency to EUR, MYR and SGD.
    Thanks.

    Hi Tara,
    Thanks for your response.
There are several reasons why we might need to enter the data in various currencies other than the local currency.
Firstly, like you have mentioned, we need to enter the local as well as the translated currency amounts for accounts that have to be translated at historical rates.  Examples of such accounts will be equity account as you have pointed out.  If I understand you correctly, you are saying that it is possible to enter an amount in translated currency in addition to entering the amount in local currency?
Secondly, due to requirements of a relatively new accounting standard, companies need to quantify the sensitivity of any exposures to a foreign currency to foreign exchange rates changes.
For example, the local currency Entity A is USD and it has a bank deposit in SGD 200.  If the exchange rate at report date is USD 1 to SGD 2, the SGD bank deposit will be translated and reported as USD 100.  Accounting standard requires the company to quantify how much the company will stand to gain or lose if the foreign exchange goes up by 10% or goes down by 10%.
Thirdly, accounting standard also dictates that company discloses exposures to all currencies for financial instruments not denominated in the functional currency of the entity.
