  • Unable to process EWA service session  for portal instances

    Hi Guru,
    I am in process of generating EWA reports for portal ,below are the steps I have completed successfully.
    1. SMD agent installation on portal.
    2. Defined portal system in SMSY.
    3. completed SOLMAN_SETUP.
    4. Completed Setup Wizard for managed system.
    5. Deploy IS agent via SDM in Solman.
    6. Introscope agent setup done for managed system
    7. Managed system data is visible in IS Enterprise Manager.
    I have created EWA service session for portal but I am unable to process the service session in DSWP ,I have ran SM:EXEC SERVICES  job but still I am unable to process the session data.
    System Configuratoi: SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 and portal is netweaver 7.0
    Thanks
    Abullais

    Hi,
    I have exactly the same problem as this and have performed all the checks as specified but still my Java only NW 7 system shows "Dates for this session are overdue".
    My Solman system is Ehp1 SPS 20 and all the managed system setup using the wizard has completed successfully. In Root Cause analysis I can see the data that the extractors have gathered on the J2EE system and in Enterprise Manager I can see the Introscope data also.
    The only thing I can think of that may be affecting the EWA session is that after I added the system into the logical component that is part of the Production solution landscape the scheduled EWA session that then appeared for the J2EE system in the list of sessions had a date set for the next scheduled EWA run (29th March). To test the EWA report for my J2EE only system I used the "change date" option after clicking on the J2EE session and set it to 25th March (this changed on 24th March). The session date then reflected the EWA session for the J2EE only system woul run on the 25th.
    Checking the session this morning I have the red flag with "Dates for this session are overdue" status.
    The sessions for the ABAP based systems are working fine, it's only this one system that is J2EE only that I have a problem with.
    Any pointers ?
    Regards,
    Brian.

  • Ant tasks for portal's dpadmin and par commands

    Has anyone written ant tasks for the dpadmin and par commands? If you look at the shell scripts for dpadmin and par, they are just setting up environment for java method invocation and command-line parsing.

    I created some simple targets to deploy my portlets (copy jsp files and classes to appropriate directories) and the declare them with a target that invoked the dpadmin tool on my desktop xml file. I had experimented around with changing the directory priviledges in order to run my build script as a user other than root but had little success. I am sure building a custom ant task wrapped around dpadmin and par commands would be trivial to implement.

  • Grey (blank) EWA reports generated for Portal systems

    I am attempting to set up EWA reports for J2EE systems. At this stage despite all efforts I continue to get grey rated (blank) reports generated for our Portal systems.
    As far as I can tell all required components are installed correctly (Wily, SMD server, SMD agents etc).
    This problem seems to be restricted to our Portal systems as report data is being generated for our XI J2EE engines with the same SMD components installed.
    CGA collection jobs are running successfully against the managed Portal systems, and I have attempted to manually generate reports via transaction DSA in the Solution Manager system, using an uploaded service data xml file generated with the SMD/services utility. This also results in a blank report.

    Hi Stephan,
    You're on the right track! When I try manually generate reports for our XI systems via uploaded service data, I only get valid report data if I generate report with graphics - otherwise the report is blank.
    Alas with the Portal systems, I get no report data either way.
    The XML storage table does contain data (with XI & Portal systems) - so comms with the J2EE is working.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Kelly,
    BI content is for the reporting purpose and forms the base of the Diagnostics.
    By default BI Content is delivered in SAP solution manager- Client 001,. you can use it. You can also have a client copy as per Standard and use it as BI client.
    You have to perform the Following activities to use it for Diagnostics:
    1) Activate the BI content and perform some Changes including manual activation.
    2) Generate some users between clients to aid the commuication between BI and your Production client.
    3) Use the BI client as a Backend BI during Diagnostics setup(SMD) and run the configuration Process.
    All the above steps forms the aprt of Initial and Basic Configutation in solution manager.
    Then you have to perform managed system setup for your component.
    Hope this helps.
    Kindly revert for any issues.
    Thanks,
    Jagan

  • Ewa report not good. how to get ewa report to show all server for portal

    Hi Sunil,
    Please check that you have run the Managed System Configuration using solman_setup. This step is important, especially if you had just updated your Solution Manager system.
    Do you have the correct data in the Workload Analysis?

  • How to create a new solution for portals?

    Hi all,
    In order to makde goinglive sesions for portals, I´ve updated SAP Solution Manager (SSM) to 7.0 EHP1-SP19.
    Portals have two servers:
    - Win 2003 for main application (NETWEAVER 7.0 2004s)
    - HPUX 11.23 for database (Oracle 10.2.0.2.0)
    I haven´t worked with solution manager until this update, and of course, I haven´t configured before.
    I´ve a mix of terms, possible configurations:
    - run SOLMAN_SETUP transaction after update ¿?
    -  install SMD ¿?
    - install/configure SLD (we haven´t configured) ¿?
    - create new solution, system components, logical components,...
    I´ve tried to create a server, database, system, but I don´t know what is the right procedure.
    I´ve seen that there is a transaction called "SOLMAN_SETUP" that I suppose I´ve have to run to configure the new version, but the EWAs configured before de update, runs properly.
    Do you know the steps as more detailed as possbible to create the new solution for portals after update?
    Does any of this steps/procedure impact into our configured and running EWAs and Goinglive sesions?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards

    Hello,
    Are you trying to get the EWA working for Go-Live check or Solution Manager?  Based on my understanding you are trying to get your Solution Manager setup to be able to generate these reports.  However, I will provide notes for both incase I am misunderstanding you.
    Please review the following notes for getting your system prepared for Go Live checks:

    Also, you can visit http://service.sap.com/earlywatch for more help/documentation on this.
    If you are trying to setup your EarlyWatch on your Solution Manager system, then please visit the following URL:

  • Approval Task for role assignment

    Hello again,
    is there any manual for approval tasks with the SAP Provisioning Framework? There is a task group called Request new business role, but if I use this, the approver approves the request, but the status of the role assignment is "in process"and never changed to "OK".
    I only found these manuals:
    - How To... Create Approval Tasks in SAP NetWeaver Identity Management
    - Implementing role approvals
    But both documents didn't show an end-to-end role-request-and-approval workflow.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Matt, hello Peter,
    the web-enabled task "Request New Business Role" and the including approval task are only examples.
    To create own approval processes for your projects you have to understand how approval tasks and pending values work.
    The following document shows the basics of PVOs (pending value objects).
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b0d6b459-3456-2b10-209e-9e78ec9fd97b?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    This is documentation of the release 7.0, which is not updated to 7.1. But basics of PVOs are still the same.
    There is also a document which describes approval task for Release 7.1:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20b67ad5-c69a-2c10-9da2-9721b1cf749c?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    Also a "How-To Guide" is available:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/904deabf-73b9-2c10-e8bb-8514dc3757f2?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    I think this is enough to learn to create workflows in SAP IdM.
    There is also a nice book available with detailed information:
    EN: http://www.sap-press.com/products/Understanding-SAP-NetWeaver-Identity-Management-.html
    DE: http://www.sap-press.de/2007
    I think this will help you.

  • EWA via solman for SQL Server

    Hi,
    I'm trying to configure EWA via solman for an ECC 6.0 system on MS SQL 2005.
    I've completed all the necessary steps i.e. all the RFC's are working fine, RTCCTOLL is ok, the report is getting generated in SDCCN on the satellite system...however it doesnt seem to get transfered to solman.
    RSCOLL00 gives a weird "database system not supported " message although it shows finished successfully.
    Is there some other program for SQL Server or maybe something that I'm missing...
    Pls. help.
    Thanks a lot,
    Saba.

    Hi Saba,
    you can't schedule EWA for Solution manager sessions in SDCCN of the satellite. The only kind you can schedule in the satellite is the kind you send directly to SAP, that's why SDCC_OSS appears as the RFC connetion. You have to fetch EWA for Solution Manager sessions from the solution manager using a refresh sessions task. Does anything happen when you perform a refresh sessions task in SDCCN on the satellite (when you pick the RFC to Solution Manager as the destination)?
    You should also check that the service definitions are current in both satellite and solution manager systems. Note 727998 explains how to delete and replace them. (Often the only way of being totally sure that the service defintions are correct.)
    best regards,
    -David.

    Hi ,
    I have created a sql file in DAC server /app/dac/CustomSQLs/ ,just to fire an update sql in database
    In DAC task tab i have created a task with the following:
    Command for incremental load :/app/dac/CustomSQLs/DBNameBeforeLoad.sql
    Primary source :flatfileconnection
    target source:DBCONNECTION_OLAP
    Execution type:SQL FILE
    Task phase:GENERAL
    I created subject area and assembled ,then created a Execution plan.
    When i try to execute this EP ,it shows the following error in DAC log:
    ANOMALY INFO::: Error while creating a task for creating an generic task /app/dac/CustomSQLs/DBNameBeforeLoad.sql

    com.siebel.analytics.etl.etltask.GenericTaskImpl.init(GenericTaskImpl.java:194)
    Does my above configuration is correct ..?

    verify the following settings:
    1. mapping of ECC plant and storage location and logical system number with the appropriate availability group code since this links the stock types in EWM to ECC org elements (SPRO -> EWM -> Interfaces -> ERP Integration -> Goods movement)
    2. ensure the availability group configuration is correct (SPRO -> EWM -> GR Process -> Configure availability group for putaway) - check all applicable nodes in this configuration since the availability group code is assigned in the pertinent storage types

  • Schedule a task for a given period of time

    Hi,
    any body has an idea how to schedule a task for a specified period of time. e.g A program keeps on asking for your name to be input for an hour and then start doing something else?
    /bob

    hi friend,
    Why don't you try using a TIMER. Try using this code
    Timer timer = new Timer((TIMER), new ActionListener()
         public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae)
    // perform your task here...
    timer.setInitialDelay(TIMER);
    timer.setRepeats(true);
    timer.start();
    I think this will work fine.

  • Task API - Completed Tasks for Creator

    Hi,
    I started to investigate the BPEL TaskManager Service following the Steps of Tutorial 6. That works great, no problem there.
    Then I followed Tutorial 7 to invoke the BPEL process from a Java Application. That also works fine.
    Finally I used the TaskManager API to retrieve all Tasks owned by a creator.
    So I used the following code:
    ITask[] creatorTasks = worklist.listTasksByCreator("TaskSample");
    System.out.println( " **** Creator Tasks ****");
    for (int j = 0; j < creatorTasks.length; j++) {
    ITask thisTask = creatorTasks[j];
    System.out.println("Task Title " + thisTask.getTitle() + " Status: " + thisTask.getStatus());
    What happens is that the API is giving me only the tasks that are in the "Active" Status and I want also the ones that are in the "Completed" Status.
    However with the following code, the completed tasks appear:
    ITask[] allTasks = worklist.listTasks(1,100);
    System.out.println( " **** All Tasks ****");
    for (int j = 0; j < allTasks.length; j++) {
    ITask thisTask = allTasks[j];
    System.out.println("Task Title " + thisTask.getTitle() + " Status: " + thisTask.getStatus());
    So my question is: does "listTasksByCreator" only gives the "Active" tasks or is this a bug ?
    I will be waiting for your answer.
    Thanks,
    Claudio.

    Hi Brooke,
    I recommend to change the $item.percentcomp, $item.created, $item.status and $item.id to be like this: $item[" percentcomp"], $item[" created"], $item[" status"] and $item[" id"] in the command.
    Please also make sure that the percentcomp or status is the internal name of the fields.

  • Change Directory server for Portal Server 6.2

    Hi there,
    I have the following problem with Portal Server 6.2 configuration which hopefully someone here will be able to help me with.
    Basically our current setup is the Sun Portal Server 6.2, ID server 6.1 and Directory server all sitting on one (Solaris 9) box. We now wish to separate the Portal / ID server components and the Directory Server component to separate boxes. In portal server 6.0 i think there was a pssetup tool which allowed configuration of a directory server which populated it with the necessary data for portal and ID server. The directory server we will be installing to will not necessarily be a clean install, i.e. it may already be populated with data.
    Is there some way therefore to re-configure the existing directory server to allow us to point our portal / ID server at it?
    Thanks in advance for any help
    Laurence.

    This can be done. You need to import the portal/identity server's schema into your new directory server and then export your existing directory server's content and import it into the new one.

  • Doing the same task for different data.. Do I need Queues? How to use them if yes?

    Hello all,
    I have created a VI which is getting data from some FTP server and then after comparing with the HDD specified folder copy the missing data from the FTP ... Description is also in the VI. There are few things I need to ask.
    1) The email sending VI gives error 1172..What could be the reason .. is it firewall.. or is there any mistake in the code?
    2) As you people are experts so I really like any suggestion to improve the VI..
    3) The most important .. Currently this VI can only perform the whole task for one FTP folder. Actually my task is I need to check for 4 different FTP folder on different servers..its not 4 different folder in one FTP .. its 4 different FTP.Now my question is how I can do this: First it compare and copy from FTP1.Then FTP2... and so on.. How can I change the data for the cluster for different FTPs? Do I need to use queues? If yes how because I don't have any experience with queues.
    I will really appreciate is someone can either provide me the relevant example or can give me some idea.
    The main VI is the 'TASK START'.VI please find the attached files.
    Thanks

    Hi Peter,
    Thank you very much for your reply. I have understood your idea but there are few problems.
    Please see the attached "Final test.vi".. actually my top level vi should be like this.. due to this reason I need to develop the cluster like one with name "Settings" as shown in Enum FTP events.vi.. In this cluster all the data types are not constants (but can be set as constants)  and further all of them are not of same type so whenever I try to create as you created I have got error, wire broken..so what do you think i should do.. In this cluster there are different types of data .. string, path, numeric, array and a cluster with name file properties also... can't figure out what to do..I know things are little scattered and wiered but due to lack of experience, I guess, I am now a little bit confused for this matter. I
    hope guys here in the forum will help me as you guys always did.

  • Help, need to change IP address on host database for Portal

    Hi folks,
    Rather urgent assistance (as usual) needed. I have an installation working correctly on a pair of Win2k machines, one as the 9i database, one as the 9iAS/Portal. The app server has 2 NIC cards, one with public IP address (which is ok), one on the LAN. I need to reconfigure the LAN addresses on both the machines. Initial Portal install done without DNS, i.e. actual server/host addresses entered in the configuration.
    I have tried changing all of the TNS/Listner settings and the NIC card IP addresses and restarting the machines. The likes of SQLPlus work ok, with the TNS connect name allowing over the LAN access into the database with the new LAN addresses. I cannot seem to get the 9iAS/Portal to find the repository with the new addresses.
    Can someone help please? I can't find the answer in any documentation or other postings.
    Thanks in advance
    Rob

    There are other modes of operation for the plasst as well. I am listing them below but the formatting will make it difficult to read. If you like I can email it to you.
    Bill G...
    Configuring Portal when the HTTP server host name of the Infrastructure is changed
    Run the following from the $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/opca dir
    ptlasst.bat -mode SSOPARTNERCONFIG -i typical -sdad portal -host myApache.domain.com -port 7777 -silent -verbose
    NOTE:
    (1) This command would create a new Portal partner application in the SSO to reflect the changes of the Infrastructure. Before running this command please ensure to configure the SSO with the correct hostname by running the ssocfg.bat script located in the Infrastructure install (<infra_home>\sso\bin).
    The value for -host parameter will be the IP address of the infrastructure server and -port will be the port where the infrastructure http server is running on.
    Configuring Portal when the HTTP server host name of the Middle tier is changed
    ptlasst.bat -mode MIDTIER -i typical -host myApache.domain.com -port 7777 -ldap_h myOID.domain.com -ldap_p 389 -ldap_w welcome -pwd secret123 -portal_only -oh /home/oracle -chost myHostname.domain.com -cport_i 8001 -cport_a 8000 -wc_i_pwd invalidator -mc false -mi true -silent -verbose
    NOTE :
    (1) The -host value should match the serverName value of the httpd.conf
    (2) The -chost should be updated with the correct webcache hostname. In a default iAS midtier install the -host is same as the -chost.
    The value for -host parameter will be the IP address of the midtier(portal) server and -port will be the port where the portal is running on.
    Parameter Description Default Value Mandatory
    -i install_type Installation Type
    In the typical mode, the OPCA would get the Infrastructure information like the Portal schema name, Portal schema password, connect string to the Portal repository, SSO Partner application schema and password, SSO Password store schema and password and connect string to the SSO repository from the Repository Access API's.
