Example of Test Bench for multiple FPGA I/O items

Hi,
I'm looking for an example on creating a Test Bench that simulates multiple FPGA I/O digital lines.
I've gone through the Creating Test Benches tutorial but it only uses a single I/O item. Read I/O Item Name.vi is obviously an important part of this but I'm not sure how to structure the VI and assign the name (especially since things seem to get wired up magically for a single IO item).
Any pointers to examples would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. There are two (in Labview 2011) returned with searching for "testbenches" that are very basic.

This shows how to use a Template from the "Execute VI on Development Computer with Simulated I/O" option on the Debugging tab of the FPGA Target Properties. The template covers a single input and it's not clear to me how to simulate more than a single input.

I have a MTS (Master Test Script) which references 4 Test Scripts. As of now, I am able to run this MTS directly by opening it as a Test Script and running it for default test data.
Now, I want to run this MTS in SAP ECATT Test Configuration for multiple variants/test data. I am not able to see any parameter if I enter MTS in the Test Configuration.

One pr for multiple materials with line items while running mrp

Hi SAP gurus,
              I am config the system for MRP as per my client requerement.
                 We use CBP for different RAW materialsfor example they having a 10 materials for planning,were,
         MRP type is VB,
          LOT size is FX,with Different Reorder points and fix order quantity for all materials,
         My client whant run MRP for all these materials in single time that means they whant multiple item at single levels,
        i soles these requirement with the help of Product Group(sop) and its working but when we running md02 for product group all materials have planed and they give different purchase requistion numbers for all these materials but my client Wants single purchase requistion with line items for all these materials.
     Pls give me the solution for that requirement.

this is not the way SAPs MRP run works.
Where is the benefit for this?
the requisitions are not even split into header and item table, it is just one table EBAN, and either way you would get exact the same number of records in EBAN.

ALV Report for multiple headers with Line Items

Hi Sap All.
here i have got a requirement to change the exisiting Zprogram which writes all the header information with line items in a normal simple report,now i have got to change the program in order to display in an ALV Format .
in the exisiting program they are using EXTRACT ,INSERT Statement and multiple select statements for getting the values into each field ofheader and line items for writing in a simple report.
so ijust want to know how i can populate all the data into alv grid.
can any one help me in this.

you have to store all header records in an internal table and all item records in a second table
then you call function module REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY with both parameters T_OUTTAB_HEADER and T_OUTTAB_ITEM

What the heck, why are Test benches so expensive!?

No idea..
But on a similar note, I plati-dipped my rims and brake calipers. They turned out nice.

So I was thinking of plasti dipping or vynil wrapping my PC case at home just to give it a change on the color. Of course I will want to use my PC to watch something online or play a game while working on my case so I will need something to put it in. I thought I should just get one of those open test benches for PC because its easy to install and remove. I was looking for some online thinking it was an easy $20 for a good one. NOPE.. A good one will run you $100. Literally the cheapest one I found was $45. Why are these things so expensive? Im probably going to take a pc from work and make my own.

How to run multiple CodedUI Ordered Tests over multiple Test Agents for parallel execution using Test Controller

we are using VS 2013, I need to run multiple Coded UI Ordered Tests in parallel on different agents.
My requirement :
Example: I have 40 Coded UI Test scripts in single solution/project. i want to run in different OS environments(example 5 OS ). I have created 5 Ordered tests with the same 40 test cases.
I have one Controller machine and 5 test agent machines. Now I want my tests to be distributed in a way that every agent gets 1 Ordered test to execute.
Machine_C = Controller (Controls Machine_1,2,3,4,5)
Machine_1 = Test Agent 1 (Should execute Ordered Test 1 (ex: OS - WIN 7) )
Machine_2 = Test Agent 2 (Should execute Ordered Test 2 (ex:
OS - WIN 8) )
Machine_3 = Test Agent 3 (Should execute Ordered Test 3
(ex: OS - WIN 2008 server) )
Machine_4 = Test Agent 4 (Should execute Ordered Test 4 (ex:
OS - WIN 2012 server) )
Machine_5 = Test Agent 5 (Should execute Ordered Test 5 (ex:

I have changed the “MinimumTestsPerAgent” app setting value
as '1' in controller’s configuration file (QTController.exe.config).
When I run the Ordered tests from the test explorer all Test agent running with each Ordered test and showing the status as running. but with in the 5 Test Agents only 2 Agents executing the test cases remaining all 3 agents not executing the test cases but
status showing as 'running' still for long time (exp: More then 3 hr) after that all so its not responding.
I need to know how I can configure my controller or how I can tell it to execute these tests in parallel on different test agents. This will help me reducing the script execution time.
I am not sure what steps I am missing.
It will be of great help if someone can guide me how this can be achieved.

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
As far as I know, we cannot specify coded UI ordered test run on specific test agent. And it is mainly that test controller determine which coded UI ordered test assign to which test agent.
Generally, I know that if we want to run multiple CodedUI Ordered Tests over multiple Test Agents for parallel execution using Test Controller.
We will need to change the MinimumTestsPerAgent property to 1 in the test controller configuration file (QTControllerConfig.exe.config) as you said.
And then we will need to change the bucketSize number of tests/number of machines in the test settings.

Best practice for test reports location -multiple installers

Hi,
What is recommended best practice for saving test reports with multiple installers of different applications:
For example, if I have 3 different teststand installers: Installer1, Installer2 and Installer3 and I want to save test reports of each installer at:
1. C:\Reports\Installer1\TestReportfilename
2. C:\Reports\Installer2\TestReportfilename
3. C:\Reports\Installer3\TestReportfilename
How could I do this programatically as to have all reports at the proper folder when teststand installers are deployed to a test PC?

There's no recommended best practice for what you're suggesting. The example here shows how to programmatically modify a report path. And, this Knowledge Base describes how you can change a report's filepath based on test results.

this may be old news to some people, but I just realized we can have the desired benefits I originally listed (encapsulation, reuse, maintainability, security) TODAY by using pipelined functions and using the table() function in Apex report region queries.
So the report query basically becomes, for example (if get_employees is a pipelined function)
select * from table(my_package.get_employees(:p1_deptno))
The only downside compared to a (weakly typed) sys_refcursor is that you have to define the type you are returning in your package spec (or as an SQL type). So it's a bit more coding, but it's still worth it for the other benefits it provides.
I like Apex even better now! :-)

SESSION VARIABLES : HOW TO TEST FOR MULTIPLE USERS

I have a username session variable set up on a localhost testing envirnoment.
This works fine for one user, but when I open another occurence of the browser (or just another tab) to test for multiple users the system overwrites the session variable with the last username input.
So the question is:
Why doesn't dreamweaver hold an instance of the session variable for each browser session? and if not what are your suggestions?

Thanks for that.
After scouring the internet I found the only way of running 2 instances of firefox without them sharing the session variables is to create 2 new firefox profiles in windows + set the MOZ_NO_REMOTE environment variable.
Internet explorer is much easier as it has a 'new session' option in the file menu, but seems to have more trouble displaying tables correctly.
Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem.

I am writting a test using a sequencer to test for multiple button click

I'm using flex sdk 4.1 and have a situation where a button click is sometimes called twice. I am writting a test for this using a sequencer and it will run for at least one button click, what I am not sure is how to test for multiple click events(which shouldn't happen, but occours randomly in my project)

The only way you could test for that type of circumstance... one where something may happen... is to do so with a timeout. In other words, you cannot let the test pass simply because the first event occurred.
Two ways to handle this... with sequences:
Instead, you write a test that expects 2 clicks. In the assertion handler (which would only be reached if both clicks occur) you would fail the test:
fail('i shouldnt be here');
In the Waiter for the 2nd click, you would specify a timeout handler. That timeout handler will get called in the 2nd click does not occur in the specified time... (finding that time is the hard part). The default timeout handler fails the test, however, in your case, your timeout handler would just happily do any assertions needed and move on. A timeout does not necessarily mean failure... in your case, it is correct
Second choice:
You could create a timer. Create an event handler for the button click which increments a counter. Start the timer, do your test. However, have your test pending on the timer's completion rather than something like the click.. In that case, you would then be able to just check the count:

However, I can't imagine how the test you are describing could ever yield more than one click event... I am guessing the problem is elsewhere, but this will help you verify

Measurement for multiple numeric limit test

Hello,
I am developing a test software using LabWindows and TestStand. In my application, I have added a no: of multinumeric tests. In Operator Interface, I want to display each measurement in run time, instead of waiting for completion of all the measurements with Multiple numeric limit test. Is there any way to receive in TSOP each runtime measurent taken for multiple numeric limit test without waiting for multinumeric limit test over?

Hi Vijay,
Unfortunately, a Multiple Numeric Limit Test will not allow you to return each measurement inside the step as it executes. If you need this to occur, there are other methods that you could take. You could create a custom step type or use many Numeric Limit Test steps and pass them the indexes in your array.
Another method you might use would be to use an Action step and save the array locally. Then, you could use Statement steps to evaluate each item in the array.

Add-MailboxPermission for multiple users on multiple mailboxes

I have a need to grant a large number of users full access to an equally large number of mailboxes. I've previously been able to do this easily in the management shell where I have multiple users for one mailbox (or vice-versa; one user for multiple mailboxes)
by using one of the following 2 commands:
get-content c:\xxxx.txt | foreach { Add-MailboxPermission $_ -User user.name -AccessRights FullAccess}
or
get-content c:\xxxx.txt | foreach { Add-MailboxPermission examplemailbox -User $_ -AccessRights FullAccess}
This works fine for when there are only multiple entries on one side of the equation, but using this method, I would need to run the command multiple times to get all of the accesses set up as requested. So I've been looking to see if there is a way of writing
one command that could achieve it all in one go.
What I've been looking at doing is creating a .csv file, filled as such;
name,mail
user.name1,mailbox1
user.name2,mailbox2
And then writing a shell command like the below:
import-csv c:\xxxx.csv | foreach { Add-MailboxPermission $_.mail -User $_.name -AccessRights FullAccess}
Will this achieve the result that I'm aiming for? or is it going to be easier to just go with the more time-consuming method of just having the multiple entries on one side of the equation?

I have a test in my environment, you can use the following cmdlet to grant multiple users full access to multiple mailboxes.

For example, if I want to grant amy02, amy03 full access permission to amy01; grant amy01, amy02 full access permission to amy03, the test1.csv file should be:

Multiple fpga vi's with same interface, single RT vi

Hi everybody,
I'm using a crio system to control as experimental setup. In this setup several types of tests can be done and for each, basically the same control is done, but the returned data is different. Therefore i wrote several fpga vi's with the same controls on the interface, and a DMA fifo to transfer the data. I've also written a subvi for my RT system which reads the data from the DMA fifo and transfers it further downstream for analysis. This RT vi has to be rewritten for each FPGA vi as the FPGA vi references are incompatible. How do i make the subvi generic for all these FPGA vi's? The DMA fifo is the same, as is the type and amount of data...

I am not sure which FPGA target you are currently using but one method to achieve what you want it to use the Up Cast method. If you use cRIO you have an example called ‘Using the Upcast Function - cRIO.lvproj’ and if you use R-Series look at the example called ‘Using the Upcast Function - R Series.lvproj’. Javascript code to enable an ADD button to create duplicate tables and pages for multiple entries

I am using Adobe XI Pro. I have created a multi-page fillable pdf questionnaire that I want to make interactive to the user. Within each page, I have multiple tables that can have ADD buttons to duplicate the table if the client wants more than one test. I would like this table to insert directly below the previous table and they may be able to add upto 5 of these table.
I also have a couple pages in the questionnaire that require duplication for multiple samples. Eg. One page per sample, and I may have upto 10 samples. I would like the javascript to have an ADD button and then add each page behind the previous related sheet (Original and duplicates together)
I am not a javascript coder so I would need some examples and a walk through. I did take some developer courses in engineering but it has been almost two decades
I have search on several forums and cannot find a good resource so I appreciate the help.

Some of what you want to do can be done using template features and a bit of JavaScript, but if your users will be using Reader, version 11 will be required. You can dynamically add new pages, but adding new tables to existing pages with reflow of content that comes after is not possible with a form created in Acrobat. If you have access to Adobe's LiveCycle Designer form creation software, you can create what's known as a dynamic XFA form that can do all of what you want.
