  • Example for Functional Area Master Data in Private Company

    Hi Expert
    From my ERP experience with the State Enterprises, there are obvious dimensions to segregate the Functional Area Master Data of each Fund.
    Such as the School Business, sometime they use Functional Area to divide the fund to use with Education Activity, Research Activity and Other Social Services Activity. This dimension oftenly have the direction from the government to be divided.
    Could you please advice for example of Functional Area Master Data to be applied with the Private Company? I need to provide more example for my client to apply the Functional Area to use with, due to they are the independent firm that would like to use Functional Area.
    Rgds,
    Ton

    Hi,
    In private sector you might have similar segregation. For example, I was involved in the project where functional area was used to distinguish R&D expenses from operational expenses on the same fund. I.e. if you can always look at this as additional dimension in your budget management framework, if other dimensions are not sufficient for the efficient reporting. However, you should also bear in mind, that functtional area has other functions (sorry for tautology) which lie more in financial and not budgetary domain.

  • Example needed for function module

    kindly provide me an example for function module & let me how to use this function in a report program..Thnaks in advance..

    Hi,
    GO to Tcode SE80.Create fucntion group.Name should start with z or y.
    GO to Tcode SE37.Create function module.Assign it to function group created above.Name should start with z or y.
    In change mode,you can top include.This is the place you should put the declarations.
    In F01,you need to write the form and U01 you should write the main program.Best way is to take any function module(z*) and follow it.
    There are 3 types of fm.
    1.Normal fm
    2.RFC enabled

  • Examples for using function modules and BApis.

    My Dear FRNDS,
    I am very new to ABAP. And I have read the documentation for  function modules but i am not that clear to practice them.So I would be very happy if u people share a little bit of ur experience with me.
    Please provide me some examples of all the use cases in function modules and specially exception handling.
    Frnds, i am going to work with bapis so i feel practicing function module will give me a edge.
    and please tell me after calling a BAPI FM why we have to perform   'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT' and 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_ROLLBACK'.
    .Ur efforts  will be greatly rewarded.

    Go thru this link
    http://www.planetsap.com/LIST_ALL_BAPIs.htm
    BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
    Execute external Commit when using BAPIs
    This method executes a COMMIT WORK command. It is required for
    transactions developed externally to the R/3 System that change data in
    the R/3 System via BAPI calls.
    When you call BAPIs in your program that change data in the R/3 System,
    afterwards you must call this method to write the changes to the
    database.
    COMMIT WORK
    The statement COMMIT WORK completes the current SAP LUW and opens a new one, storing all change requests for the currenta SAP LUW in the process
    there are some FM that we use for creating trasaction . for example FM : that use for creating production order . if you execut the FM , the system will not create any data in the system so you need to excute the FM : BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to commit that creating the production order .
    in case of commit work, that is a syntax in abap program . if you use this syntax after you insert ,update or delete table in the sap ,system will do it immediately otherwise the system will do it after execution is complete.
    ROLLBACK WORK.
    for confirming or undoing database updates. COMMIT WORK always concludes a database LUW and starts a new one. ROLLBACK WORK always undoes all changes back to the start of the database LUW.

    Raj.

  • How to log input parameters for Function Modules?

    Hi,
    I need to create a Logging system to trace input parameters for function modules.
    The log functionality could be done by developing a class method or a function module (For example 'write_log'), and calling it within each function module that I want to log. The 'write_log' code should be independent from the interface of the Function Module that I want to log.
    For example, I'd like to write a function/class method that can log both these functions modules:
    Function DummyA
       Input parameters: A1 type char10, A2 type char10.
    Function DummyB
       Input parameters: B1 type char20, B2 type char20, B3 type char20, B4 type Z_MYSTRUCTURE
    Now the questions...
    - Is there a "standard SAP" function that provide this functionality?
    - If not, is there a system variable in which I can access runtime all parameters name, type and value for a particular function module?
    - If not, how can I loop at Input parameters in a way that is independent from the function module interface?
    Thank you in advance for helping!

    check this sample code. here i am capturing only parameters (import) values. you can extend this to capture tables, changin, etc.

  • Search help(f4)  for function module input

    can we create a serch help for  function module input giving process

    Hello basichodary,
    You can encapsulate the function module within a program.  Include the search help in a parameter statement in the calling program and pass the parameter to the function module.  For example, suppose you want to have field i_carrid to have a search help.  Use the following code.
    report  call_function_module.
    parameters p_carrid type s_carr_id matchcode object demo_f4_de.
    call function 'FUNCTION_MODULE'
       exporting
          i_carrid    = p_carrid

  • Are there any good code examples for displaying preview images in the storefront?

    I can gather other info using folio.xxx, but can not find any good examples to use for preview images.  Tried folio.getPreviewImage() with no success.  Oh, I should mention it is version 2.  Plenty of examples for version 1.
    Perhaps if I get a little more specific.
    I am calling up the folios via:
           adobeDPS.libraryService.folioMap.addedSignal.add(function(folios) {
                for (var i = 0; i < folios.length; i++) {
                    addFolio(folios[i]);
            }, this);
    This eventually works into a function where I am gathering and displaying folio data:
         var productId = folio.productId;
        var html  = "<div id='" + productId + "'>";
            html +=     "<a href='#'><img class='shadow' width='120' src='' border=0 /></a>";
            html +=     "<br /><span class='bold'>" + folio.title + "</span>";
            html += "</div>";
        this.$el = $(html);
    folio.title works fine to pull up the title, but I can no longer use folio.getPreviewURL in v2.  What code should I be using to set the src to the preview image?
    Thanks

    Have you looked at the default implementations of the library?
    In FolioItemView's render function, there is a function(follow the nested functions!):
    setTimeout(function(){ scope.loadPreviewImage() }, 100);
    It references this function (this doesn't copy well):
    loadPreviewImage: function() {
    if (this.el.parentElement) {
    var transaction = this.folio.getPreviewImage(135, 180, true);
    transaction.completedSignal.addOnce(this.getPreviewImageHandler, this);
    Going deeper, into the getPreviewImageHandler function is where you see the url value..
    if (transaction.state == adobeDPS.transactionManager.transactionStates.FINISHED && transaction.previewImageURL != null) {
                                  this.$el.find(".folio-thumb").attr("src", transaction.previewImageURL);
    Within the example is also code for supplying a preview when the Adobe API is not available:
    (Within the render function)
    var json = this.model.toJSON();
    $folioThumb.attr("src", json.libraryPreviewUrl);
    If you're making any changes to where the preview is displayed, you can just swap out the class ".folio-thumb" to whatever the class (or id) is of the element you're wanting to render the preview in.

  • Graphical message mapping examples for JDBC and RFC lookup

    hi, can any body provide me graphical message mapping examples for the "JDBC Lookup" function and "RFC Lookup" function?
    I'm now studying the graphical message mapping and want to try those 2 functions. thank you.
    I expect the examples to be simple enoung, not need to set up much.

    May be I'm too foolish to follow those links, I got issues of each links.
    What I really want is an example from step0
    Swarup:
    Refer the Lookup document - Easy Lookup in Process Integration 7.1
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/20befc9a-aa72-2b10-ae9b-b0988791d457
    The first step is "Create an RFC Enabled Function Module for look up", but where can I create the function module? Should I use ESB, IB? or use transaction 'SE11' ?
    Kulkarni:
    Very good links for RFC lookup with 7.0/3.0
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/70d90a91-3cf4-2a10-d189-bfd37d9c3231&overridelayout=true
    At page6 "PI Development/Configuration", it saies "You are on the design maintenance screen in the Integration Builder.Expand the subnodes for the software component version for which you want to import interfaces".
    What is "design maintenance screen" ? My IB version is: Service Pack:08 Release:NW07_08_REL.
    When I open IB, it display a screen titled with "Configuration: Intergation Builder", I did not find "software component version" node on the left tree.
    Madhu_1980 :
    it contains a link : SAP PI 7.1 Mapping Enhancements Series: Graphical Support for JDBC and RFC Lookups /people/jin.shin/blog/2008/02/15/sap-pi-71-mapping-enhancements-series-graphical-support-for-jdbc-and-rfc-lookups
    The Prerequisites state:
    The JDBC channel to be used for the lookup must be configured and activated in the Integration Directory.
    The definition of the table used for the lookup must already be imported into the ES Repository as an external definition
    But I don't know how to create a JDBC channel and define the table.

  • Can anyone give me an example for crm_svy_..._pai?

    Hi all, I have a survey, there are several questions. After I input the answers, I click the 'CHECK' button, I will check the answers. There will be different response to my answers. If the answer is not correct, I will post an error message.
    And I also need to retrieve data from tables to fill the blank.
    I am a beginner for CRM survey, can anyone help me? I create a FM:crm_svy_..._pai, and code in it right? But how can I do it?
    Can anyone give me an example for crm_svy_..._pai to do what I need?

    The PROGRAM statement has the addition DEFINING DATABASE TEST_LDB. This defines the database program as belonging to the logical database TEST_LDB.
    The nodes of the structure are declared with the TABLES statement which generates the appropriate table work areas. You can also use the NODES statement to define database tables as nodes. If a node of a logical database is not a database table, you must use the NODES statement. The interface work areas are shared by the database program and the user, and so act as an interface for passing data. The term "user" here can mean either an executable program to which the logical database is linked, or the function module LDB_PROCESS.
    The subroutines INIT and PBO initialize the selection screen.
    In the PAI subroutine, you can include an authorization check for the user input on the selection screen. Plausibility or value range checks are also possible. If a check fails, you can write an error dialog. The corresponding field on the selection screen is then made ready for input again.
    The PUT_<node> subroutines read the database tables according to the selection criteria entered by the user and trigger the relevant events in the executable program. This program is intended only to show the essential structure of a logical database. It does not contain any refinements to improve response times. The order in which the subroutines are called is determined by the structure of the logical database.

    vijay

  • Parameters to be considered for functional specification preparation

    hello experts
    what are the parameters need to be considered at the time of prep.of any functional specification for abap deveopment?
    or how to prepare functional spec

    It depends on how you design your specification -
    for example for creation of notification & order in the back ground you can use BAPI
    For creation of confirmation of order you can use BAPI.
    Use T code BAPI for exploring the available  BAPI & their uses.
    For finding out  user exit use t- code SE84.
    enhancements - serch with IW* you will get all PM related exits
    For function module use SE37 for searching function modules
    As such its upto the ABAPer to use them in development
