Excel Online no "Fill"

I am coming up empty handed here but i am after the fill button which is available in Excel 2013 under Home/Editing, in excel online it is not available.
Why is this and what is the fix?

I agree with Maurice, the fill button is not available in the Excel online version. But we can use Fill Handle in online version. Drag the Fill Handle that appears in the lower-right corner of a selected cell or range of cells to fill the data into
adjacent cells.

Problem with 'sort and filter' feature of embed codes in Excel Online Web App

So my question has to do with the Excel Online feature where you can share a spreadsheet and embed it in a website with the option of allowing users to sort and filter the data. (The option is under the "Interaction" heading.)
One of the options if you look closely is "Let people sort and filter" which is not checked off. In the embed code you can see "AllowInteractivity=False". The problem is that when I check "Let people sort and filter"
the embed code changes completely - going from:

Cannot Print Excel report in Excel Online

Hi,
I have a Excel report that retrieves Project Data (using the OData feed). The report is housed in the Reports document library created with a PWA instance. When using Excel Online to view the report in the browser, I receive an error message saying that
the report cannot be printed (from the browser). Instead the message states that the Excel file should be opened in Excel.
Has anyone seen this before? Is this a limitation of utilizing Excel reports in Project Online?

From what I can tell, only highlighting (selecting the cells) and using the print selection works. You can't set the print area in Excel (desktop).

How to automate the process of converting a pdf to excel online?

Hi,
Each morning I recieve a bunch of pdf files form my clinet and I need to convert all of them to MS - excel and then use them for further calculations.
This is a repititive, tedious and time consuming process.
So the idea is to automate the following steps-
1. Open the pdf file from the suggested/given location
2. Convert it to excel- online
3. Save it at a desired location
4. Repeat the process for all files.
Can some one please suggest how to write and execute the code to fulfill this algorithm?

Hi, Vivek.
Currently, ExportPDF can only handle 1 file at a time. Adobe Acrobat can do batch export to Excel, however.
This idea has already been added to the ExportPDF Ideas list ("Export multiple..."). If you'd like to see this improvement to ExportPDF, please add your vote or comment here.

What is happening to Excel Online? Keep freezing and failing

What's is going on?
I typed numbers into a cell, it refuses to treat it as numbers, and align it to the left of the cell. And this is in an existing table, and all the old cells (meaning those with values I typed in before) in the same columns are treating the numbers
as numbers.
I typed formula (things like "=100+300") into a cell, and it won't do the calculation. Again, the old cells in the same columns worked fine for formulas. Trying to format the cells as numbers doesn't work (and it didn't work for the cell I
mentioned in my previous paragraph either). And after I tried to delete the content in this cell (or tried to do some other things to the cell), it just freeze the page, with the keep keeping saying that "working on it". Are you going to work on
it for 24x7 for a simple cell delete?
I tried multiple times, always the same behavior. I believe these are very basic and simple scenarios.
Microsoft used to be really good at testing their products. But with these basic scenario broken, it makes me wonder: Are you testing your product at all before you release? Simply because it is web based, now you think you can ship garbage now?

Passing Parameters to Excel online

Hello,
I am working on a portal that provides the user with a search UI to enter some filter values, these are then sent to a SP to fetch the required data and a separate excel is generated to refresh the power view.
I wanted to know if there is a way to pass the filter values as some parameters to Excel online so that it can directly refresh the view.

What did you mean by “Excel Online”?
Did you mean the Excel Web Access web part in SharePoint?
If yes, I recommend to pass the parameters to Excel Web Access web part by another Filter web part.

MDS Excel add-in with Excel online

Hi,
I would like to explore the possibility to use excel online (excel services in SharePoint) to administer MDS-data using the Excel add-in. Since there is a need to reach the Master Data menu options in the Excel sheets for the simple reason of publishing
I have not yet found a way to make this possible since the SharePoint excel online menu options are restricted.
Does anyone have any experience of using Excel MDS add-in through SharePoint Excel SErvices?
...or a similar problem allowing Excel online to show (and use) the menu bar?
(Would like to avoid rolling out Excel add-in on all clients...)

To test the apps for Office using Office online, we need to have an Office 365 Developer Site (a SharePoint site preconfigured for apps).
Then we can change the Start action to the broswer and set the site url with the Office 365 Devloper site like figure below:

Apps for Excel Online and IFrames

We've just submitted an app for approval. The report we received indicates that the app doesn't load in Excel Online. This is because we include an X-Frame-Options: DENY header when we serve the app, which tells the browser not to render it in iframes.
We really don't want to leave off that header, for security reasons. Not very many browsers support X-Frame-Options: ALLOW-FROM, so I don't think that's a good option. Is there some way to render the app without iframes? Or some other solution that
doesn't involve compromising security? We can't be the only ones who have run into this.

Excel Online - Perform a find all occurrences

When a perform a Ctrl-F or use the Find feature on Excel online, only the first occurrence is returned.
Is there a way to perform a Find all occurrences?
Is there a way for the pop-up find window not to close after an occurrence is found?

Press Ctrl-F, then click the Options >> button , choose your options, then press the "Find all" button.
If you want to search multiple sheets, select the sheets before pressing Ctrl-F....

EXCEL ONLINE - Automaticly refresh data in excel from the online data

Is their anyway 5 users can use excelonline fileA and also keep a uneditable version fileA open in desktop excel and manually refresh the desktop version to see the latest version of the document in uneditable mode still of course?
DESRCIPTION
We use excelonline for about 5 users to access the same 5MB excel file. Now because excelonline does not allow marcos to be run, proper printing and proper copy and paste in html formats (we need to copy and paste sheets into outlook in html format or run
macros) we need to open the desktopexcel application to use printing and copy functions into outlook.
All 5 users need to enter the data in excelonline then SYNC now in sharepoint so the excel is updated and then open desktopexcel then a pop up to use latest server version asks us to use latest. We want latest so we then click okay. Great we now have the
latest data. We can then run macros etc....
We then close down desktopexcel and enter more online data through the day and have to repeat SYNC now in sharepoint so the excel is updated and then open desktopexcel then a pop up to use latest server version asks us to use latest. We want latest so we

If I understand correctly from your advice, that is I should create QaaWs to pull data from SAP BI, which will return data in tabular format. Map the data in the cell range of a hidden tab, re-arrange and format the data into the row?
Another concern: I need to display data for 4 quarters (Q1, Q2, Q3,Q4) in the dashboard, but QAAWS will only pulls data when the data is available in the database.
   Eg. Only data for 3 quarters are found in the database, QAAWS will return data for Q1, Q2,Q4.
         This will mess up the position fixed in the xcelsius. Do you have any suggestion on this?

Export raw excel dato to fill-able PDF

Im new to the forum and this is my first thread - I really hope you can help me (sorry for my english, its been a while since i've been using it).
I would like to be able to export raw data from Excel to a PDF file, which is fill-able / editable.
1) Lets say that my Excel file looks as follows:
A1     =     Title of project
A2     =     Adobe Acrobat project
A3     =     Adobe Reader project
A4     =     Adobe Photoshop project
B1     =     Idea behind the project
B2     =     The idea behind the project is to analyse, if Adobe Acrobat is a useable program.
B3     =     etc.
B4     =     etc.
2) And I have a .PDF file thats like this:
Text "Title of project:" And a textbox which can be filled out (the fill-able box is called "Title of project" in preferences)
Text "Idea behind the project" And a textbox which can be filled out (the fill-able box is called "Idea behind the project" in preferences)
3) How can I get the data from A2 into the .PDF files "Title of project" and the data from B2 into the .PDF files "Idea behind the project"
I have tried to save the Excel file as .CSV and .TXT and import it into the .PDF, but get an error doing so.
I just need the basic understanding, so I can start develooment from there.

Have you read the documentation on importing/exporting text to and from a PDF?
You need to arrange the data like a database table. The top row is the column name and corresponds to the Acrobat field name, then the next line is the first line of data and each following line is the next data record.

Importing data from Excel to generate "filled" PDF form that was created in Designer

I have a form that was created in Designer. The data that I need to import is all in a Excel spreadsheet with the same fields as the form.
Is it possible to import all the data so that it generates a printed PDF with the data on each line of excel?
For example:
If my excel file shows:
First Name      Last Name     Phone Number        UserID
John               Doe               416-777-9970           johndoe997
Mike               Rogers           905-887-3398          mikerogers997
In this example I would like to generate a PDF form for John and for Mike, each with their details filled out on the form based on the data in the excel sheet

Why can't I "save as a word or excel online" within the PDF document

I can go online and convert a PDF to word but I can't do it within the PDF document.
When I first purchase ExportPDF a few weeks ago I was able to do this, now I can't.
I get an error that states "File failed to be converted with Adobe ExportPDF".
Please advise!!
